While I appreciate MAC bringing back some of their popular discontinued items I do wish the collection would have been a bit more expansive maybe with the inclusion of some pigments, MSF’s, or maybe blushes. Also I feel like this would have been a perfect way to offer up Ripe Peach again since this shade continues to be a favorite and somewhat coveted item. I suspect that 3N, Moxie, and Candy Yum Yum will be the winners of the lipstick category, and as far as the other categories I couldn’t say for sure. I’m not that into MAC’s lipglass so I’ll probably pass on those, as far as eyeshadows I would love to have Moth Brown, Solar White, and Guacamole come back to give them a try which I would definitely have to grab backups of since the limited edition shadows always end up being my favorite shadows for some reason >.<

So earlier when I made a huge order from transdesign.com I also decided to pick up the Color Club Starry Temptress Collection since I had been eyeing it for awhile and I was really excited to see how they looked since they’re neon colors with glitter. Upon application the glitter definitely doesn’t stand out and sparkle like it does in the bottle which is one of the biggest downsides especially if you were hoping to get that holographic sparkle out of them. But regardless I still think the polishes are unique and the glitter adds character to them since it gives it a sort of textured look with a bit of depth, and there is still a very light bit of sparkle that translates but not a lot. The formula on these was good, thick and fairly opaque where two coats would suffice but a third for a perfect finish also the dry time was fast and the glitter was rather smooth where it doesn’t leave your nails feeling gritty or too bumpy.

I absolutely love Urban Decays shadow and liner pencil products so anytime they release sets like these I always get sucked in and for good reasons, the products are amazing; they’re long lasting and won’t crease. Urban Decays shadow pencils make for a great multi-function product since you can use them as regular liners, as an eyeshadow base or simply eyeshadow but because these do dry fast so you need to be quick about blending them out. Plus sets like these are really great for gifts, when I bought my set I also bought an extra to give to my sister for part of her birthday present and she loved it.

Kleancolor Polish Haul

I have always wanted to try some of the Kleancolor polishes but have yet to get around to picking any up until about a week ago when I was browsing Amazon and saw a huge lot of them and decided to get them since they were only $44.50 with free shipping for 48 polishes which I felt was a really good deal considering that on the Kleancolor website they retail for $3.49 each, so at retail the price would have been $167.52 for 48 Kleancolor polishes. This is definitely a great lot to buy if you don’t already own any Kleancolor polishes and have wanted to try them out, plus you do get a good mixture of colors, and glitter polishes as well and none of them are repeats. Also shipping was fast, I ordered them on the 24^th and received them today. I can’t wait to play with these especially the glitters so I will try to have swatches up as soon as possible!

Elessa Jade Crystal Bow Earrings

Earlier last week I was watching one of PurseBuzz’s videos on youtube and saw her Crystal Bow Earrings and feel in love with them and I had to have them. They are gorgeous and come in a bunch of different colors but I decided to go with the Black Pave ones since I figure I can pair them with just about anything plus they were really affordable. Shipping was fast and came well packaged, and the earrings even came in this cute pink velvet box with a black bow on top and not to mention Elessa even included an adorable large pink bow headband! If you’re thinking about purchasing any of the bow earrings I would definitely recommended picking up a pair since they’re made really well. The bows seem to be made from some sort of ceramic so they have a nice light weight to them and the crystals are set a little deep into the bows but still stand out so you shouldn’t have to worry about them falling out.

So I decided to head out to CVS this weekend to see if I could track down some of the new Spoiled polishes that came out recently since I haven’t had a chance to pick any up yet, after browsing through the displays I came across a Wet n Wild ColorIcon Ice Baby display which I was incredibly excited to see since from my knowledge those were only available and exclusive at the time to Walgreens back in December of last year and there was two of the polishes I was missing from the collection that had already sold out so luckily the display at CVS was pretty full and I was able to grab them! So if you missed out on them or were missing a few from the collection I would definitely recommend trying your local CVS locations since it seems like they may be popping back up again!

Awhile ago I was up late at night and couldn’t sleep so I started looking up nail polishes and somehow stumbled across the brand Jordana Cosmetics and their Glitter Nail Polish, I immediately knew I had to have them all since they looked gorgeous and seemed to have some unique color combinations. Upon further research the only local retailer I could find that sells them is Kmart but you can also purchase them directly from www.jordanacosmetics.com and you do get free shipping on orders of $25. I now own all their glitter polishes besides the ones that are currently listed on their website as coming soon which I am dying to have as those are some of the main ones that caught my eye. I did buy most of them from Jordana’s website since my Kmart didn’t have that big of a selection but I was lucky enough to pick them up at Kmart for 25% off so you may want to check your Kmart first and see what types of sales/promotions are currently running.

Sugarpill recently had a 20% off Birthday sale for turning 2 so I took advantage of the sale to pick up the remaining two loose shadows I was missing from my collection since shipping came out to be almost free so the loose shadows I got are Royal Sugar and Tiara which are stunning. I have been on such a polish kick lately and when I heard about the Color Club Blossoming collection I knew I had to pick it up since I don’t have many pastel color polishes plus these will be perfect for summer. So a few days ago I made a huge order from transdesign.com for these and a few other collections I’ve been meaning to pick up and I love transdesign since I literally get my package about two days after I order because their warehouse is based in Atlanta and I live in Georgia, so they ship really fast, plus I was able to pick this collection up for $21.70 versus the color club website at $48.00!

I really loved all the polishes since the formula was great, had good dry time and most importantly for me they were nice and opaque and only needed two coats for a perfect application.

China Glaze Magnetix Collection

China Glaze has released a new line of magnetic polishes which consists of six magnetic polishes plus a three pattern magnet that is sold separately that has a starburst pattern, a 45 degree angle stripe pattern and a chevron pattern. I’m really excited that China Glaze has released a magnetic collection since a lot of the other brands that have done magnetic polishes don’t seem as available locally other than ordering online although I have seen the Nails Inc at Ulta recently but at the price tag of $16 so it’s nice to see China Glaze create a magnetic collection at a cheaper cost and full size bottle.

This is the first time I used magnetic polishes so while it wasn’t difficult to figure out it did take awhile to get the method down from trial and error, one of the biggest problems I had was getting the pattern to work on my index finger which is because my index finger has a curved nail while the rest of my nails are fairly straight which is why in the swatches you’ll notice that nail has the least amount of pattern transfer. Also I did find that positioning the magnet further back from the cuticle helped to get the pattern to transfer more evenly and centered on the nail. Other than that I didn’t encounter any problems, the formula on these were great; nice and thick and all of them were pretty opaque in one coat, Cling On and You Move Me were the only one where I needed to apply an additional coat since they were a bit sheer.

As far as application I applied a base coat and then worked one nail at a time with the polish and magnet since these dry fast and you need them to still be wet for the magnet to work and for a more opaque I applied the magnetic polish to my nails and waited for them to dry and then did the same with working one nail at a time with the polish and magnet, also you’ll want to make sure your nails are dried completely before applying a top coat so the pattern doesn’t smear for reference I use the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Overall I really love this collection, I only wish the magnet were a bit stronger since I did have to hold the magnet over my nail for about 20-30 seconds for the pattern to show up strong and clear and even then I had some problems so I really want to try these with a different magnet to see how much of a difference it makes so I’ll probably pick up a few bottles of the Nails Inc to give them a go plus I really want to try their teal shade, also when I was talking to my husband about these polishes he said he’d bring me home a magnet from his work to try since he works in a calibrating lab and they have strong magnets that they discard out of watt meters so I’m excited to see how that will work.

Benefit Hervana Powder Blush

This is the first blush I’ve purchased from Benefit even though I’ve always heard such great things about their blushes but this one seemed to get such great raves and reviews that I finally decided to pick it up when I was at Ulta awhile back to give it a try and I’m glad I did because it’s gorgeous and currently one of my go to blushes. I really like that it goes on lightly and leaves a nice natural glowy looking pink color but can also be built up for more color if desired.

Benefit B.right! Radiant Skincare

I purchased one of the mini sets of the new benefit skincare line awhile ago and I fell in love with them and the mini set actually lasted longer than I expected since you really don’t need to use much at all for your whole face so while I was at Ulta last I wanted to pick up a few full sized items so I picked up their Foamingly Clean Facial Wash and the Total Moisture Facial Cream, I was also hoping to grab their Triple Performing Facial Emulsion since I really liked that item as well when I tried it in the mini set but they were out of it so I plan on picking that up next along with their It’s Potent! Eye Cream.

Foamingly Clean Facial Wash effectively cleans the skin and removes makeup and impurities with a soft gentle lather. $21

I really like using this facial wash along with my Clarisonic and it works wonders for me, my skin feels fresh, soft, and clean after but not entirely stripped to where your skin feels tight and dry after. I also really enjoy the scent which smells kind of like a light floral cucumber scent.

Total Moisture Facial Cream absorbs quickly to deeply hydrate the skin using Benefits exclusive tri-radiance complex. This complex delivers immediate hydration by helping to capture and maintain water on the surface of the skin. $38

I really love this facial cream since this one is a bit thicker than their Triple Performing Facial Emulsion so I like wearing this one as a night cream, even though it feels thicker it still sinks into my skin quickly and doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy at all and you definitely don’t need that much product to cover your face so I imagine the full size will last me forever, haha.

Overall I’m really impressed with their new line and I feel like the products I’ve tried have lived up to the claim of leaving your skin looking brighter which for me they do and not to mention the packing is gorgeous with a sort of retro feel and has a good solid sturdy feel. And while the products may seem overpriced I try to consider the fact that while they are a bit on the pricey side I feel you do get your money’s worth since you don’t need to use as much product as you may with other brands/items.

Simple Valentine’s Day Nail Design

I haven’t used my Konad stuff in awhile so I decided to pull it out for a fun Valentine’s Day look since I recently bought some new nail plates and there was one image plate that I thought would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day look plus I wanted to try out my new Zoya polish I got recently from one of the sales. So for this look I used my Red Angel image plate RA-114, Zoya Sookie and the white special polish from Konad, I think it came out great besides the fact that I haven’t used my Konad in awhile I ended up dragging the images a little : ( But I really enjoyed creating this look and it’s definitely made me want to get back into nail art so I’m actually thinking about doing the 31 day nail challenge from www.nail-art-101.com next month :D
