The countdown begins.... 15 days to go...that's right...before I go back. My holiday will be for 10 weeks!!!

Yippee...I get to see my family and my son gets to send more time with them too. Also I am attending one of my best friend's wedding! I'm so excited, can't wait.

I will try to blog as much as I can but it's a bit difficult as I have loads to do before going back including working...anyway, thanks for visiting my blog...cheers!

Have you been watching "The Gem Of Life"(珠光寶氣)? It is nearing the end of the series. A total of 82 episodes.

This series is such a boring one and a bit senseless. Not a good storyline to begin with, which is such a waste considering the actors and actresses are quite "veteran".

So for those of you who haven't watch it yet, I would say don't bother unless you are watching it for your favourite actors/actresses...

Here's a short synopsis of the series..

You may wish to be a famous socialite.

You may wish to have fame and fortune.

But is that really what you will wish for at the end?

In PAK SIU-YAU (LEE SZE KEE, LOUISE)'s eyes, her three daughters are just as perfect as diamonds. She believes that the greatest blessing for a woman is to marry a wealthy man.

To guarantee a better life for her daughters, she has started training the girls since they were young, hoping that they will marry into the richest families when they mature.

YAU's first daughter HONG NGA-YIN (SHIU MEI KI, MAGGIE) does not agree with her on her values. Yet when she sees that the man YIN is going out with is KO CHEUNG-SING (LAM, BOWIE), who is very well-off, she decides to let YIN go with her choice.

YAU's second daughter HONG NGA-TUNG (LAI CHI, GIGI) is hopelessly romantic but does not seem to have much luck with men. To make it up to her, YAU seeks to match her up with HO CHIT-NAM (CHAN HO, MOSES), the son of Hong Kong's most powerful business tycoon HO FUNG (YUEH HUA).

Being the youngest in the family, HONG NGA-SZ (CHOI SIU FUN, ADA) is well aware of YAU's concerns. Having recovered from divorce, SZ now decides to pin all her hopes on FUNG.

YAU's persistence pays off and her daughters have all found a wealthy husband. But money does not really bring them happiness and the sisters are gradually losing themselves in vanity.

Hubby and I have been waiting for ages for this new season of 24. Well, it is shown every Monday over here and it's really good.

In case you have never watched it before, it comes highly recommended because it is bound to keep you on the edge and exasperated!!

So don't miss it! I bought the whole series from the first Season till the latest one on DVD and it costs a BOMB!! But it was worth it! Kiefer Sutherland is so rugged-looking...*sigh*...

Coldest Winter

This year has been exceptionally cold, even the pond nearby is not spared. It was frozen and there were no swans or ducks around, except for seagulls waiting to be fed...

I can't decide if I like the winter or summer..probably summer, but it has it's cons too...as in too hot to sleep at night in the summer. No air-conditioning here.

As for winter, besides having to wear pile of clothing and taking long time to get dress with Ian before going out, I like the cold but I don't like the winter bug/virus that it brings.

Haha..I guess I can't have it both ways. well, I'll just have to make do with whatever that comes my way..

Sweetness In The Salt (碧血盐枭)

I have been busy lately. First of all, falling sick, then it was Ian, hubby, then back to me and it just goes on and on!! Seems like a sickness holiday for me.

I have so many things to do!!! Christmas tree is not DOWN YET!!! Going crazy, lots of housework and ironing to do and also some online stuff to do!! I am even really behind watching my TVB dramas. Just downloading them blindly..hehe.

Anyway, this seem to be the latest TVB drama that is out called Sweetness In The Salt (碧血盐枭).

Here's the short synopsis of it.

NIP CHI YUEN (Ma Steven), who works in the anti-smuggling camp, is determined to wipe out the Tau's Fort, which is the stronghold for salt smugglers. He pretends to be a down-and-out scholar.

TAU SING SUET (Yeung Yi), daughter of the chief smuggler, sympathizes with YUEN and puts him up in the village. Later, they even become fond of each other.

During an anti-smuggling operation SUET is badly hurt and has since been separated from YUEN and her family. Fortunately she is saved by WU TING HIN (Wong Ho Yin), son of salt merchant WU KIN (Kwok Fung). HIN takes her home.

One day, SUET is horrified to see the dead bodies of her parent being hung on the wall of the city tower, and that the official standing on the top of the tower telling the public not to sell smuggled salt is none other than the man she misses day and night.

She is heartbroken, and her love for YUEN turns into hatred that moment on.

HIN finds a job for SUET at the salt company his family runs to help her get over her unhappiness. To repay him, she devotes herself entirely to the job.

As time goes by, HIN starts to fall in love with her. However his critical illness making him hesitates to express his love for her. SUET's real identity comes to light when her younger uncle reappears out of the blue. HIN, for fear that his family will report SUET, proposes to her.

缉私营的聂致远(马浚伟)为剿灭盐枭窦家寨，故意扮作落难秀才博取盐枭之女窦胜雪(杨怡)的同情及收留，因而与雪建立了深厚的感情。某天官府突然派兵剿寨，在混乱之中雪身受重伤并与远及家人失散，幸得盐商胡坚(郭峰)之子胡亭轩(黄浩然)相救，并暂留胡府待找回双亲及远，但雪却惊见父母的屍首被悬於城楼示众，而站在楼顶大义凛然地告诫众人不要贩卖私盐的官员，竟是令自己日夜牵肠掛肚的远，雪柔肠寸断，且对远有彻骨之恨......。

轩为助雪忘却不快，安排她在胡府经营的盐栈工作，而雪为报答轩救命之恩，不计劳苦为盐栈出心出力，那段日子令轩对雪由怜生爱，却碍於恶疾缠身，一直未敢表白，直至雪的二叔突然现身，暴露了雪的真正身份，轩为防家人报官竟向雪提亲......。

This was our Christmas cake that I bought from the local market here. Looks nice eh? I bought it for around £5.

I'm not into baking...so this will do. Also, I am not a big fan of the Christmas cake.

So, how was your Christmas? Mine was mediocre and quiet as always. Now that it is over, it's back to the normal life again...anyway, Happy New Year!!

A Breath Of Fresh Air

I have been sick for a week or two now. But today I got fed up so went out for a breath of fresh air. We went to the garden centre near Shelly's house. It was a relaxing outing. Felt better after that.

After dropping Shelly off, we went out with MIL to get the Christmas turkey. Cost her £25 for 6kg turkey!! Jeez...I think that was expensive, but well, it's up to my MIL. She wants "posh" turkey...hehe.

This year Christmas came early for Ian. Santa or rather Grandma and us were generous and bought him this for Christmas... A Universe Of Imagination Train Set and Table.

We had to put it up before Christmas and it took us hours to do it! It was massive and Ian loved it! He spent hours on it! Guess it was another good buy!!

SICK!! Terrible winter...laden with coughs and colds and flu....have been like this on and off for weeks! It goes off and then come back.

I'm not the only one, in fact everyone in my family and even some of my friends are like that. Not a very good winter....hope it doesn't get worse as it goes on...now is only the beginning of winter! Keeping our fingers crossed!

My morning started with a BANG! I was still half asleep when my hubby rang me up and told me that he had an accident.

He crashed into an Audi when the driver apply the emergency brakes! So, what a great day to start my day! The whole day was left with dealing with the insurance and waiting for the courtesy car!

I went shopping today with my friend, Shelly. I parked my car at Tesco and she picked me up. So after shopping, we had a light lunch at Subway and she had to go back. I was going to fetch Ian from nursery anyway.

When I reached the nursery, she rang me up and told me that I left my groceries in her car! *Slap head*!! So, I had to go to her house which was around 15 miles...
When I got there, had a drink, chat a bit and then headed home.

As I was sorting out my groceries, I realized I forgot 2 packets of crisp!! Oh goodness!! Don't know what was up with me, so absent-minded and forgetful!!

Just before Christmas, he has to be sick!! Twice..he just recovered from tonsilitis about 10 days ago, now he is sick again! I'm talking about Ian.

He has sort of wheezy and cold type of sickness. Runny nose and coughing, sounds chesty....Anyway, let's hope and pray that he gets better before Christmas!! It's the season...a lot of people are down with it apparently...

I wonder if it's a phase or just naughty...screaming, that's Ian's favourite thing to do at the moment! Drives me up the wall.

Every time he wants something, he will scream! I wonder if he is imitating his friends in nursery or he's just being terrible 3! Really make me cringe...I hope it will go away soon...I rarely take him out unless necessary, it's a trauma at times taking him out! Hopes he will outgrow it...patience...hehe..

It's winter now but I'm having my "spring cleaning". Why? Because my house is like a bomb site so I need to clean it before Christmas. Hopefully, it will be done before then. My Christmas tree is not even up yet. But the Christmas presents are all wrapped and ready to go...hehe..

My ironing is like the Mount. Everest...I hate ironing, never ends! I think most household is the same eh? Or is it just me? Alright, back to housework..oh what joy!

First Migraine..now THIS!!

Having a month off is not as fun as I anticipated. I was having migraine for a couple of days and now I have this...gastric....

I haven't eaten any spicy and hot food. But my tummy has been really bad and terrible these few days. I have been taking rennie for a couple of days now. I hope I will be well enough soon. Just my luck!

What is it that I hate..MIGRAINE!!! Seems to have them all the time these few months. Terrible! Can't do much just lie there uncomfortably like dead! Have it the whole day today, well, to be exact, started late afternoon.

I took 2 Solpadeine Max and then after a while I started to feel bilious. So I took 2 Rennie for gastric. I had a sleep, so now feel a bit better. Tried taking a nap but felt nauseous. I wish I never get them!! Spoilt my day, was gonna do my overdue "spring cleaning"...by the way, this is not a paid post..

One Month Holiday

I am currently on leave for a month....well six days to be exact, but because I work only 2 nights a week, so it's 3 weeks. Also, my workplace shuts down on Christmas week, so all together it comes to 4 weeks! Nice holiday..so I will be back at work on the 31st December..hehe..I will be paid double pay because it's New Year's Eve/Day..

However, I will be doing a lot of overdue spring cleaning and mountains of ironing..sigh... That's life of a part-time housewife..Hopefully I will get some rest too..

Snow in Autumn

It's not yet winter but we have been getting light to heavy snowfall in the past few days. Snow is cool..I like it; that is if I don't have to go out or drive...hehe...

But the weather has been very cold to go out, staying at home seems to be the only option. The heating has been on day and night, I dread looking at the bill at the end of the month but it's too cold not to put the heating on.

Anyway, a hot bowl of red bean soup is comforting in the cold weather...I like it..but hubby doesn't...hehe..

The Horrific Abuse Of Baby P

This is a very, very sad case....it really angers me so much....no words can describe what sadistic act that has been done to Baby P. I can't bear to read or post this article but I think a lot of people should read about it.

These are the faces of 2 of the 3 abusers of Baby P. One being his own flesh and blood mother!

I am still trying to get the photo of his stepfather..the worst monster devil of all!! You can read of the horrifying details and more news on my other blog here and here.

Be aware, heart-wrenching details...but must be read because these monsters should be whipped, caned and get the death penalty for what they did!!

The monsters won't be sentenced till December 2008 but I have a feeling the worst monster of them all the stepfather will be pleading to mental illness or some other things to get away. Also they will probably get maximum of 14 years each. This is how sad this country has become...

Shar-Pei

We were at the park for fireworks on Saturday and saw a Shar-Pie puppy...how adorable... Hubby and Ian has always like dogs.

We have been looking around but it is not really a good time to get a dog. I can only have dogs which don't shed because I'm allergic. So only terriers..mostly and Shar-Pei or poodles don't shed.

So, we'll see...but they don't come in cheap and needs a lot of maintenance. a Shar-Pei puppy can cost around..£900!! Not getting one anytime soon..haha..
