Chloe Cyphus’ home, situated in part of a former Victorian nunnery.

Chloe lives in part of a former Victorian nunnery, in the Wiltshire town of Warminster. The building is thought to be on the site of a former manor house which was rebuilt in 1771 and later in 1891, in local stone. In 1906 the property was leased to the sisters of the Ursuline order who had fled persecution in France, and converted into houses in the 1980s.

Living above the shop is one thing; living inside it is completely another. But four times a year that’s effectively what Chloe Cyphus’ home becomes -- a showcase for the painted French and Swedish furniture, unusual accessories and delicate, vintage textiles she sells through invitation-only sales held at the property.

Adorable Pretty in Pink 1st Birthday Party

This gorgeous “Pretty in Pink” first birthday party hosted and styled by Jamielyn of I {heart} Nap Time certainly“takes the cake” when it comes to all things pink and feminine! Inspired by her adorable daughter’s love of pink,pearls, bows and all things girly, Jamielyn created a magical celebration all girly-girls out there dream of… Everything from the beautiful, pink confections to the pretty pink party decor will leave you feeling like a little princess.

Get ready to be wowed by the pink ruffled dessert table backdrop, not to mention all the fabulous upcycled party elements! Who knew a rusty old chandelier could be transformed into a ridiculously cute pink cake and cupcake centerpiece fit for a princess?!

“INSPIRATION"

I knew I wanted to go over the top with my daughter’s first Birthday party. This was my first party that I’ve styled and I had so much fun creating the party decor. The theme I went with was ‘Pretty in Pink’. My daughter Emmalyn is just about as girly as they come and she LOVES pink. She enjoys trying on my pearls and her bows, so I wanted to tie that into the theme as well. I love to create decor on a budget so I found a lot of the decor pieces from Goodwill and upcycled them with pink spray paint.

PARTY DECOR

My favorite upcycle was an old rusty chandelier I found for $5. I turned it into a beautiful pink cake stand trimmed with pearls. It completed the whole dessert table! I also turned an old nightstand I found for $2 into a ‘Pretty in Pink’ candy station. I converted some dollar store glass vases by pouring pink paint inside and swirling it around. Then I filled them with fresh pink flowers to add to the dessert table.

FOOD/BEVERAGES

For the party we served pink lemonade, club wraps, chicken croissant sandwiches, chips, veggies, fruit and strawberry dip. I poured the pink lemonade in mason jars topped with citrus flower lids and pink striped straws. I wrapped each jar with ribbon, lace and twine securing it with glue dots.

DESSERT TABLE

The dessert bar was the best part! For the backdrop I hung up ruffle fabric with mounting tape and hungpommettes in the center. I draped the tables with pink fabric and hung the ribbon banner across the front. We had vanilla cake with strawberry filling, red velvet cake pops, royal icing cookies and strawberry cupcakes. I created polka dot favor bags with ribbon and a thank you tag that they could fill with candy. At the candy station we had pink gumballs, sixlets, rock candy, gummy bears, suckers and bubble gum sticks.

ACTIVITIES

For the party we rented a princess bounce house and the kids had a ball jumping while the parents chatted and ate lots of cookies! The kids also had fun tossing balloons and blowing bubbles. Of course the best entertainment of all was watching our sweet girl dig into her first Birthday cake. We all snapped pictures with the Birthday queen and she just kept eating away. We love our sweet Emmalyn and I loved all the details that went into planning her first Birthday. It will definitely be a party to remember.

Here's one for the girly girls who are tired of bows and lace. A shimmering pink pailette treatment to catch eyes and invoke images of bubbly champagne and dainty lingerie. The ultra-thin style doesn't leave much room for stashing any but the most basic of necessities but the sophisticated rocker-glam vibe it puts off is more than worth it. The Falabella Faux Leather Wristlet Bag is all bright Ecru faux leather and gleaming gunmetal hardware, plus a little designer-stamped tag and some whipstitching details. It has a zip-top closure and is fully lined inside in designer-stamped twill. $380

The New Bamboo Stud-Embellished Leather Tote from Gucci is a structured modern gem, and (for some reason) it makes me think of licorice. It's all layers of vibrant black leather with rows of small gold stud details, braiding, thick leather tassels, a detachable luggage tag and woven shoulder strap, and of course the single glossy black bamboo top handle. It also has a small stud and bamboo twist-lock closure on the fold-over flap front. Inside it's lined raffia and has one zippered pocket, plus a mirror and leather mirror sleeve. $4,200

The Matthew Williamson Appliquéd Suede Clutch is proof that you don't need jewels to be flashy or bold -- just take some cues from nature and imitate the peacock. This soft-bodied bag is made of royal blue suede covered in part (the front flap) in multicolored sequins and peacock-effect feather appliqués. At 12" wide it's generously sized and features a concealed zip-top closure and press-stud fastening, plus a designer-stamped plaque under the flap and an interior lined in black twill. There's one zip pocket inside and no shoulder strap. $1,695

The Florine Embellished Shoulder Bag by Antik Batik is tiny and pastel, as well as soft and full of texture. An opportunity to bring some earthy glamour to an evening ensemble, as well as a little vintage-inspired depth and energy. The bag is based in light green suede and the exterior is completely covered in a combination of iridescent sequins in bright green and burnished brown, plus some fine bead and chain detailing on the fold-over flap front. All the hardware is burnished silver and comes in the form of a detachable shoulder strap of chain interwoven with green suede. Inside it's lined in designer-stamped twill and has no pockets. $235

The Elsie Beaded Leather Clutch by Chloé is one of those beautiful bags that just doesn't get a fair rap in photos. Bright enough to rival the shimmer of gems and crystals this pretty clutch is covered on the front by gleaming gold beads in various sizes for a three dimensional, effervescent effect that looks a little like champagne in sculpture form. The look is interrupted only by the unique twist-lock fastening and Ecru leather flap. The back is also Ecru leather and it has a zippered top closure. Inside it's lined in nude leather and features an inner pouch pocket and hardware designer stamp. $2,195

Get out the sunglasses, here comes Miu Miu's eye-poppingly bright Leather Shoulder Bag. Designed as a simple square for maximum impact it features smooth, neon green leather and comes with two detachable shoulder straps -- one with just a buckle and one with a floral cutout detail. It can be carried as a clutch or worn cross-body and has goldtone hardware, designer-stamped twist-lock closure on the large fold-over flap front, and an interior divided into three compartments. It's also fully lined in black twill and has lots of interior pockets. $1,095

The Alexander McQueen Iris Plexiglas Box Clutch is one of those statement pieces that's sure to garner glances and comments and envy whenever and wherever you carry it. The construction is pretty simple considering its impact: molded plexigas topped with a Swarovski-embellished gold metal clasp depicting a skull sitting inside a fully opened iris bloom. Very gothic-chic (as the brand does so well) but with a decidedly lighter vibe this time. Features are basic but include a gold metal frame and inside there's white leather trim. $2,295

John and I are both attorneys and work in the same office where we met. We kept the romance somewhat secret for over a year until we formally announced our engagement. John proposed on Christmas Day while we were skiing at Mammoth Mountain on a holiday vacation with my family. It was the last run of the day and John suggested we ski through the trees. Once we were out of view of the main runs John pretended to fall and said he needed a break. He then pulled out the ring and asked if I would spend forever with him. Of course, I said yes. John knew how close I am with my parents and family, so he decided to propose when my entire family could share in the moment. We drove back to the family home and I ran in to share the news with my family.

We were looking for something different than the typical ballroom setting for the wedding. A good friend of John's suggested San Ysidro Ranch, a venue neither of us had seen before. When we walked on the property we knew immediately that this was where we were going to have our wedding. It was unique, private and intimate. And The Ranch had a perfect garden setting for an outdoor ceremony.

We wanted a sophisticated wedding but one that had a casual feel so that everyone would be relaxed and would thoroughly enjoy the evening. The colors were in the coral, peach, soft pink, white and green tones. Soft and romantic in design, the flowers had a luxurious, classic and elegant look to them.Garden roses, tulips, hydrangea, dinner plate dahlias, sweet peas, ranunculus, passion vine, geranium foliage and spray roses were some of the flowers used for our late October wedding.

The entire wedding was a whirlwind and we loved every minute of it. John's most vivid memory was seeing me turn the corner and walk down the aisle towards him. He said I had never looked so gorgeous. My most vivid memory was the exchanging of the vows. We both loved entering the reception through the 150 year old adobe.
