Last night Imam Suhaib Webb of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC) was interviewed by Piers Morgan on CNN. Today we learned the perpetrators of pure evil at the Boston Marathon on Monday that resulted in the deaths of three precious lives and the wounding scores of others are two Muslim brothers from Chechnya who have been in the U.S. for about 10 years. The older brother, Tamerlan Tsarneav, 26, is now dead after a police shootout. There's a massive manhunt for the younger brother, Dzhokar Tsarnaevc, 19. Police warn those in Massachusetts he may have explosives and to stay indoors. Here is a screen shot from Dzhokar's page at a Russian social networking site, Vkontakie (thanks JA). Note he wrote that his world view is Islam: A few hours after the FBI released the pictures of the suspect, a university police officer was shot and killed at MIT and a guard wounded after a car-jacking by the suspects which then led to a police chase with the brothers throwing out explosives at the police and the older brother being shot. Somehow, I completely missed this from last August when some paint balls found their way to a mosque door in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I don't believe anyone was held accountable. But, leave it to CAIR Oklahoma's new director, Adam Soltani, to find a voice on Iranian TV to complain: "...Unfortunately there has been a lot of campaigns against Muslims recently in the media. An ex-Muslim Brotherhood member told a conference in Abu Dhabi this week the Muslim Brotherhood has secret societies in 80 nations, including the U.S., they actively recruits Muslims, and that an international group reports to superiors in New York City! Last August, the director of CAIR St. Louis, Faizan Syed, wrote on their website that Muslims should realize the urgent need to monitor social media and then he gave a few of his ideas for monitoring it in a post titled Social Media Task Force http://www.cair-stlouis.com/component/k2/item/28-social-media-task-force (UPDATE 2/21/2013: Syed has removed this page but see my PDF of it below). The picture above is a screen shot taken from a video of him found on his YouTube page. Syed, who was born in Pakistan and moved to the U.S. in 1991, suggested the creation of a Muslim youth association who would monitor the media. The young feminist taskforce chair at the National Organization for Women (NOW), N. Jerin Arifa, wrote one of the most misleading articles about Islamophobia I've every read. In Arifa's piece titled Islamophobia Encourages Violence Against Women, she writes in the first sentence "There is significant and well-justified concern within the feminist community and beyond about Muslim women’s rights" This is true but it doesn't have anything to do with Islamophobia (a non-recognized phobia that's hurled at just about any criticism of Muslims or Islam by Muslim activists). In December, Ahmed Rehab, the Director of CAIR Chicago founded MyJihad. They claim it's an educational campaign to redefine or take-back the term jihad from Muslim extremists and those people who are often referred to as Islamophobes - you know those who call attention to the words and actions of the Muslims who concern us. CAIR Chicago manages it, sponsors it, collects the donations and the phone number and address listed on the website is CAIR Chicago. All of this is coming from a chapter of a national organization that was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest Hamas terror-funding case in US history! Do you get the sick irony here? The campaign insists jihad is just a personal struggle. The Washington Free Beacon reported yesterday that a Missouri-based company is hosting a designated terrorist group's TV website: The Missouri-based GSI Hosting is granting server space to Al Manar TV, which is owned and funded by Hezbollah, according to research provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). The U.S. has cited Hezbollah and Al Manar as terrorist organizations, a designation that makes it illegal for anyone in America to “knowingly provide ‘material support or resources’” to the groups, according to the State Department. GSI Hosting, which is owned by the Texas-based Layered Tech, was notified last month by MEMRI that it was hosting Al Manar’s website. ...The site was subsequently removed on Nov. 26, but reappeared on the company’s servers on Dec. 6, according to MEMRI executive director Steven Stalinsky. The civil rights manager for CAIR New York, Cyrus McGoldrick, retweeted a message from Ali Abunimah who runs the anti-Israel Electronic Intafada who had tweeted out word from Hamas leader Kahled Meshal: Does anyone have any doubt left about CAIR and most of their Muslim activists support for Hamas? Remember, Israel gave up the Gaza strip to help appease Muslims and within 10 days rockets were fired upon them. In a bloody takeover in 2007, Hamas then seized power from the Fatah goverment there. In an article about Pamela Geller's pro Israel/anti-jihad ads that went up on some New York subways, CAIR New York's Executive Director Muneer Awad was quoted (H/T @antiCAIR) in a Staten Island on-line newspaper that CAIR won the appeal of the decision by the U.S. government to name them as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Trial - the largest Hamas terror-funding case in U.S. history: Awad described Ms. Geller's comments about CAIR as "arguably one of the most poorly thought-out conspiracy theories of the year. Within a month of being hired for a newly created position as CAIR Oklahoma's communication director, Jillian Holzbauer Frazier tackled Islamophobia In an opinion piece published by a liberal Tulsa paper - who pretty much just publishes what CAIR gives them - titled Extreme rhetoric can nurture violence. Recently, FBI special agent Todd Mayberry spoke (Detroit Press) to the Detroit Jewish Community Center about Iran, Hezbollah and other issues of concern which included telling the audience that the number of Michigan IP addresses on radcial websites is staggering and that the number such sites is in the thousands: "...The second threat to the Jewish community is the "new self-radicalization" of individuals who became terrorists though the Internet by visiting jihad websites and chat rooms, Mayberry said. Last night, Rep. Emily Virgin (D Norman) hosted the 2nd Iftar dinner at the Oklahoma State Capitol. She tweeted how proud and honored she was to host it: I first read about this in a tweet from CAIR National: An Iftar dinner is a religious dinner observed by Muslims. The link that CAIR tweeted was to a AP story about it. Oklahoma senators Tom Ivester and John Sparks also hosted it. I asked Rep. Virgin, via a tweet, this morning who funded the dinner. So far, nothing. As a Oklahoma taxpayer, I want to know. Another question I have for Rep. Emily Virgin is what religious dinners were held at the Oklahoma State Capitol that honored Christian, Jewish or other faiths in the last two years. When I asked her a similar question last year she said she didn't know" I tweeted Rep. CAIR New York has announced its new executive director will be Muneer Awad, Awad is currently the director of CAIR's chapter in Oklahoma and is the man who appears to have moved to the state for the purpose of suing it over SQ755, a constitutional amendment that would forbid state courts from considering foreign laws in its decisions, including sharia law which is the ruling system in many Islamic countries. Throughout Awad's arguments in court, it seemed to me, he claimed sharia law was the same as sharia guidance which is something I don't believe he was challenged on, at all. They are not the same thing. I wasn't in the courtroom but that's what I got from how it was reported in the press. A recent notice put out by CAIR Oklahoma which is posted on their website indicates they have four positions opened. Up until now, they had two positions in the state; the director and the operations coordinator. It now appears a new communication manager and a new civil rights manager position have been added. All four positions are open for new job candidates. Interesting. Does this mean Muneer Awad, their director here and the man who sued Oklahoma over its anti-foreign law admendment, is leaving CAIR Oklahoma?
