The P960 is the first slider with mobile TV in Europe, and it supports the Euro mobile TV standards DVB-CBMS and OMA-BCAST. Obviously there’s nothing on at the moment but color bars, but they look pretty good. I don’t think we’ll be getting this thing any time soon, since mobile TV in the USA is way behind Europe and Korea. Dang.

After negotiating over the past few weeks with Microsoft and signing a letter of intent to be acquired, e-mail startup Xobni has walked from this deal, according to a source close to the negotiations. The deal would have been a natural for Microsoft, which was offering to buy the two-year old startup for somewhere in the $20-million range. (The company has raised less than $5 million so far in venture capital from Khosla Ventures, Atomico, First Round Capital, Ron Conway, and Y Combinator). But the deeper that Xobni got into the discussions, the less comfortable it felt about its eventual fate inside the Microsoft machine. The fear was that Xobni would end up nothing more than a feature of Outlook. Microsoft wanted the entire team to move up to Redmond, and was vague in its answers about what it had planned for that team, or the product. In the end, the body language just wasn’t there.

When it comes to web hosting, there are a lot of misconceptions. In some cases, there are things that your host doesn’t want you to know, and you may have to really dig if you want to find the truth. Here are the top two things that your web hosting company will never tell you.

1. There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth or disk space. This is a common misconception that is used to sell web space. The consumer immediately thinks – “Cool, I get infinity amount of space, I can put up anything I want!” This gets the web hosting company a sale and the customer is never the wiser. In reality, there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth or space.

All servers have limits, and there is no connection in the world that is going to allow a cheap web hosting company to send zillions of megabytes in bandwidth. Everything has a limit, and in the case of these two items, there are definite limits that even a hosting company can’t surmount. (more…)

Tame your multitasking with this amazing gadget! Multitasking is necessary we all know that, Multitasking is impossible to escape in today’s world. As humans, we’ve always had the desire to stay connected to the people around us. Now that technology has made this easier than ever, we’ve developed a fear of urgency that any given phone call, email, or text might be really important.

Texting while driving is the number one distraction for new drivers, but it would also be difficult to restrict all phone use in a car. While we’re stuck with this desire to be connected, we think we can tame our multitasking.

Tame is a concept that sets a status message synced with all of your devices and applications. If you’re driving or need some privacy, you can tell Tame to handle auto-responses to your phone, IM, text, Facebook, and more.

Google has joined a handful of other companies by announcing that it is delivering mobile banner ads. A number of other companies already display banner ads on mobile Web pages. Yahoo, AdMob and Third Screen, which is now owned by AOL, are among companies that display banner ads for advertisers. Microsoft displays banner ads on some of its mobile Web pages, such as MSNBC and other MSN mobile Web pages.

Google could actually have an advantage over competitors in the mobile banner-ad market because of the way the search giant charges advertisers. All mobile banner ads from Google are priced on a per-click basis. Other advertising platforms often charge based on impressions, or how many times someone views the page with the advertisement, and in mobile, those rates are often quite high.

If they do add Blu-Ray, Xbox 360’s will become slightly cheaper, since Blu-Ray is cheaper than HD. But HD could be better than Blu-Ray, reports say.

This is still an unsure rumor, just because of how detailed this rumor is and how new the rumor is. I’ve heard it’s false because some people say that it won’t be the major feature for the 360, since the PS3 already has Blu-Ray.
