Price war has been a big problem for new Shopee sellers. Winning Price war in a platform like Shopee is not easy. Especially if we are selling product that have many sellers or big sellers. If we are trapped in price war, its better to have proper strategy and overall approach. Generally theses are 5 main thing I usually do in case of trapped in price war.

Emphasize unique features and benefit.

Rather than engaging in a race to lowest price, i focus more on showcasing unique aspects of the product. Buyer will know what value they will be getting. Use proper keyword to highlight the uniqueness of the product.

Price Benchmarking & SIP

While locally, sellers are at price war against each other, bear in mind that shopee not only covers Malaysia region. My strategy is to do well in shopee and join the Shopee International Platform. Benchmark with international market and strategize the pricing accordingly to sells to oversea. Product can sells with higher prices and more customers. For local market, we can also benchmark against other marketplace or physical shop. Try your best to avoid lowering down the price as the first effort.

Bundling and Free Gift

Instead of directly go against competitor, its better to go for bundle deal and free gift. Find a suitable free gift or item that complement the main product. This will give more value compared to lowering down the price with the same value. Sometimes buyer dont mind buying at a little bit high price in order to get the value offers in bundle deal.

It happened to me last week. I need to search for a meeting, however it resulting to the calendar displaying in list view.

The problem with list view is that we cannot see the time table. Its become more problematic due to the sort by date is not working as intended.

Luckily after a few searching online. Actually to change back to time table view is quite easy.

Those who are new to beyblade may not know about the CoroCoro version, CoroCoro is a japanese monthly manga magazine.

The CoroCoro version is beyblade/beyblade part that can only be obtained by purchasing the CoroCoro comic. People outside japan quite hard to get this corocoro version.

I got my B 187 Savior Valkyrie Shot -7 original Takara Tomy Beyblade. This is really cool beyblade.

The product is launched in Japan on 17th July 2021 and I get the product on 23rd January.

This is a starter set which means that the set consists of launcher.

So I did some unboxing and will share the picture here later.

Once a blogger leave blogging activities, he or she also leave anything related to it especially some of the income streams may no longer be there.

Since I continued blogging after a very long hiatus. The next step that I did is to look at adfly and Bukisa which was one of income stream for writers. Adfly is still there, Bukisa stil there but bukisa no longer paying.

Previously Bukisa pays around $3.00 per unique views. Where for every 1000 views Bukisa will pay the amount in members account. Then members can cashout into paypal account.

As I just checked today, there are no more profit sharing program in Bukisa. My guess is it was related to google algorithm update. The fate of Bukisa is basically the same with any blog with sponsored post or content.

However the fact that Bukisa is still available shows that, blogging and content writing is still can be a good source of online income.

How to revive an old blog?

Literally its easy, make a new post to your old blog. A post like this.. Then the blog is revived.

But how to effectively revive and old blog like this?

Purpose to revive a blog

First of all. Its all about the big why?

What is the big why and the big reason for a blog to be revived? Because without clear purpose and motivation, it will lead to a longer break and the blog will die again especially when the writers starts having brain drain.

Strategy to revive an old blog

When I am thinking on the strategy to revive an old blog basically, this is what my in mind

1. To maintain either the same niche or to start with new niche? This is important because it will define the overall blog contents.

2. To have proper milestones or target on what to be updated. And how frequent to write new post.

3. Maybe to revisit old content and rework on it to cover more new updates related to the content

4. Some social media marketing.

5. To update the knowledge on SEO

6. To take it more like marathon approach instead of sprint approach.

Hopefully with this in mind i can revive this blog. If you have any approach that works for you, I hope that you can share your approach.

One punch man is a manga. An entertaining manga. A story about a hero who is so strong. Able to defeat enemy in only one punch man. You should read that manga.

Saitama is a powerful hero who easily defeats all of his opponents with a single punch. He is a thin man at the current age of 25 and is bald, supposedly due from his excessive training. Saitama has always been heroic, saving the innocent from the strange Mysterious Beings that appear in his world; however, he never receives any credit for it. After defeating so many without effort, he feels bored and empty inside, endlessly searching for opponents that will actually pose a challenge to him.

Saitama originally was an ordinary man constantly looking for a job who became depressed after many rejections. One day, Saitama saves a child from a monster. This actions spawns two major consequences: the child's powerful relative creates the Hero Association, and Saitama decides to become a hero like the ones from his childhood. After training every day for three years with an inhuman workout routine of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats and 10 km running, he gains superhuman strength and speed but loses his hair. There are two version of the manga. The redrawn version and the original version. The original version are written and drawn by ONE. While the redrawn version are written by ONE and redrawn by Murataa Yusuke.

The original version is not well drawn. Not a perfect one but, the story line is good and is more up to date. currently chapter 94 while the redrawn version are in chapter 42 while i am writing this.

For me this is another proof that, it is not the perfection that really matters .An entertaining storyline can compensate the lack in the artwork. If ONE waits for his drawing skills to be as good as Murata he would not be able to produce a manga.

Failure & Mistake - A Natural Process

Failure is just a natural process, same goes for mistakes. In my life i do a lot of mistakes, I fail a lot too. I believe you who read this post also faced the same. Some people take failure and mistake as "no option". They only one to see the successful result. In my personal opinion it is a very bad option.

When we were born, we know nothing. We cannot even speak, we cannot even walk. The process for us to able to walk freely in this beautiful earth is the result for many failures. However its is quite ironic, when a person who failed a lot before cannot accept another failure. When they make a mistake, they failed and they feel like it is the end of the world!

Like how we learn to walk, like how we learn to speak, it is just a natural process. If we are scared to take challenges because of the phobia of failure and making mistake. Just remember that, it is just a process.

This blog used to be one of the successful blog, when I started blogging. Now this blog fails to achieve the same traffic and performance like it used to be. I guess it is just a process.

Having good permalink is very helpful for ranking in Search Engine Result Page. The target keyword must be included in the permalink to be more search engine friendly. At the same time, the title also need to be compelling for others to read.

Before this the problem with blogger is that, it does not come together with the ability to customize the permalink. So, a title need to be carefully chosen so that the title addressed both to attract visitors and to rank high in serach engine.

A bad example of not carefully choosing a title is my old post way back in 2009 entitled:

[Tutorial] Blog feed ke twitter guna twitterfeed

which led to to blogger automatically assigned following permalink to the blog post.

Notice that, the word twitter feed which is the main keyword is not even in the permalink. Which is very bad for the post's SEO. Luckily blogger make an improvement where the permalink can be customized. As an example, for this blog post.

Second time at i-City Shah Alam

The first time i went to i-City Shah Alam is in 2010. The second time is last two days. 30th April 2012. I put some picture in this post while I am going to talk a little bit about it.

I love the first time there compared to my latest visit. But for other people they love this version of i-City.

First time i went there, the situation are quieter and there are not too much people coming. Compared to now, the situation are much more crowded. I personally do not like crowded place.

However my wife and my son are having a lot of fun at i-City.

They have fun riding the train.

But for me, I am searching for peaceful place there. Like this picture above.

i-City now are more like fun fair which i believe the main reason for crowded place. If you never come to i-City, you can come and have fun there. If you are like me who like peaceful , quiet situation. You still can visit i-City.

This is just a suggestion for internet marketers who sells ebook and MRR as a package. Just a sharing so that you will get an extra one sale.

What i wanted to say is that, if you have a lot of product with MRR and giveaway right, be flexible in offering the product. I tried to buy MRR ebook with a few local internet marketer. The ebook is to be given away in a few contest that I organized in my local blog. Telling the truth it is quite hard to get the ebook that I want because some of the IM are quite rigid.

As an example, I am looking for only a few ebook with MRR / giveway right. But I am offered up to 100 ebooks IF i buy certain product/ebooks from them. Some of the product priced up to RM250 for the package. Did they know that I am willing to spend RM30 or just 5 product or maybe for one product if the product is relevant enough.

I ended up buying MRR with giveaway rights ebooks from international internet marketer with way cheaper price of course with a lot of hardwork asking around. Thanks for their support though.

The E in PAFEO is very important

This week I attended #MSMW2012 - Malaysian Social Media Week 2012. I only attended the first two days, the conference day. Those conference sessions were very fruitful, I learnt a lot of awesome ideas and so on.

There are great presenters there. From what isee they know their Purpose of sharing their knowledge there. They know their Audience. They have their format of presentation, some of them are using power point, some of them are just using the public speaking tools that they have, some of them using analogy. Most of the speakers organizing the flow of presentation very well. Great!

Owh! I forgot about the E which stands for Evidence. Sadly , some .. only one , two or three.. of them being a great a speaker did not give enough evidence although their sharing session are relevance to me. This is what i feel personally. Evidence back up your claim. One of my friend who are also attending the sessions also said the same thing, everyone can talk on the surface, but where is the proof?

Although some of them do not put the evidence, i still feel that i learned a lot from them. For that, thank you very much for all presenters and also for my sponsor. Overall I am satisfied with the two days conference session. I learn a lot of wonderful ideas on social media, twitter, blogging and more. Hopefully I can put into practice some of the great ideas!

Ok. I am not a good presenter, I am just a newbie, if I was the one to give the talk, maybe I am doing well am maybe I am not but I need to prepare my content no matter what. If I am not a great presenter, logically I am not supposed to comment on the presentations. However, from what I learned in my previous presentation courses. Commenting on other's presentation and commenting on your own presentation is a great way to improve your presentation skill.

Use PAFEO in writing your blog post

Planning is one of the most important thing when we want to achieve something. Planning with a tool is better that planning without any tools. Today I wanted to share a technique called PAFEO which i learned in a recent courses. It is a presentation and communication skill workshop, where participant need to utilize PAFEO in preparing the presentation slide. However PAFEO is not just for presentation it can be utilized in writing and blogging, which is included as a non-verbal communication too.

What is PAFEO?

PAFEO is a Tool or guide, it is just an acronym but can be very useful in writing and presentation. PAFEO -stands for : Purpose , Audience , Format , Evidence and Organization

PAFEO for Writing

A blogger can use PAFEO for writing a blog post since PAFEO will help in giving more impact for the blog post.

This is the 5 Step using PAFEO:

Purpose - Before writing anything, ask your self, what are you trying to accomplish? What is the objective of that particular blog post , is it for getting sales, to share knowledge, just to relieve your stress? The way you write a blog post can be influenced by the purpose.

Audience - Whom you are targeting to read the blog post. For most bloggers they already know their target audience. By knowing the audience it is easy to write to tally to the audience level of understanding. As example if you are making a tutorial for advance group, there are no need to go to step by step, but if you are targeting newbies you need to make a step by step instruction.

Format - How will you do it? Should it be in tutorial format, should it be in normal writing, formal way or informal way? Format also deal with deciding which point to talk first to capture the readers attention.

Evidence - Evidence is something that will convince the reader to believe in what you write. If you are writing about how to get more traffic, by including some proof that you are getting traffic from your technique, you can gain the users trust. Sometimes, if you are already well known in the area where the target audience already trusted you, evidence can be optional.

Organisation - This is the last part. Organize! There are many type of organization that can be used depend on your Purpose, Audience and Format. You can put your writing in chronological order, problem first then solution, Pros and cons and decision making.

As a blogger who always want to be a better writer, you can use this PAFEO technique. PAFEO technique also suitable for making a book review, blog review, sales pitch and many more. I am just sharing with you because sharing is caring and PAFEO is worth sharing. Good luck!
