I'm looking for some advice regarding the need to have a CCL.
From 1st April the FCA take over responsibility for consumer credit from the Office of Fair Trading and it's not entirely clear what changes if any there are regarding the criteria as to who needs a license.

For example, the OFT stated that if you are simple promoting other peoples credit then you would not fall under the credit brokerage category. So based on this definition it could be assumed that in the case of a website where you list adverts for personal loan products sorted by APR from affiliate programmes and link through to the lender websites without taking any personal data yourself nor make any personal product recommendations for a particular individual, the 'promoting other peoples credit' is all that you are doing and a CCL would not be need.

However, it has been suggested that the FCA have a different interpretation. I've looked at their website and it's not particularly clear. Can anyone advise?

Question: Are successful affiliates lazy?

Question: Are successful affiliates lazy?

- I baulk at the idea of working full time again. (9-5, Monday to Friday)

Question: Are successful affiliates lazy?

- I baulk at the idea of working full time again. (9-5, Monday to Friday)

- I never found fulfilment in my old jobs.

- Last week I passed my old place of work and genuinely felt anxiety. Only way I can describe why I felt such anxiety was I had a sort of nightmare/daydream that I needed to go in and start working full time again.

- If I think about my income, I know, realistically I could not recreate it in the real world with my personality type (was never particularly a go the extra mile kinda guy who got the promotions. If anything I had my coat on at 5pm, desperately waiting for the bell to go.)

- My merchants often jokingly tell me I am lazy because I dismiss some of their suggested campaigns (too much work for me to implement vs ROI).

- Am probably no longer employable because I could not have a superior telling me what to do ever again.

- Hated justifying myself to a manager each week in the dreaded one 2 one.

- I get up early every day out of choice, but dont want to have to get up and be in work for a certain time.

QUESTION -

Are successful affiliates lazy and spoilt?

To those of us who have reached the levels of passive income we desire (caveat, nothing is ever 100% passive, but, yeah, realistically I dont have to do much work this month if I dont want to).

Obviously, everyones definition of financial success is different and dependent on their circumstances, so this topic is not about defining success but what happens when you achieve your desired goal?

I have basically gotten to the stage of being White Dee - I expect to sit around all day and get paid for it.

I am in a fairly philosophical mood about this at the moment, and obviously, doing what we do, there are very few professions which are comparable in terms of income passivity once the infrastructure is in place, so this is not something I am ever really able to discuss with friends who work full time.

The only other profession I can think of is maybe a landlord with several properties.
