( Happy New Years to where it's already a new year aha)

I know I haven't updated this much woops! But I thought I'd take this chance to blog about the things I've learned in the year 2011.

This year I've learned that it's okay to have your heart broken by the person you least expected it from. There was this quote I once read went something like... The worst part about life is when you start doubting the person you least expected. 2011 has taught me that it's okay to cry over spilled milk because for that moment, that's the only thing you can do so you can re-cooperate for it later on. A broken heart is the worst possible feeling ever besides a loved one's death of course... and it's okay to cry. It's okay to be depressed, it's okay to feel alone, but is there a limit? Yes! Patience is another thing I've experienced this year.. Everything takes time and so does your heart. So let it pick up it's own pieces and allow it to amend itself. Also, don't put yourself through unnecessary drama, don't try to sadden yourself (such as going on to their facebook, twitta or w/e it is to see if their sad too lol) cause I promise you it'll make things worse ! Another thing I've learned is it's okay to open up to strangers because even though they have no idea what you're going through, they themselves have experienced enough situations to offer you advice ! It took me about 3 months in total to get over that son of a b!$#% and thank god! Thank God I don't give a fuck about it anymore. I will not let it ruin me cause guess what? Life goes on. Also.. random eye candy's along the recovery road doesn't help ;-) or rebounds.. you know aha!

Have I only learned to get over a heart break this year? haha seems that way ! Anyway here's a look i did the other day.

I think charlotte russe has become one of the stores I always end up visiting no matter if I need something or don't. Yesterday I went out purchased a few things from Charlotte and one lipstick from MAC. I seriously needed a great nude color in my collection however, at the last minute I was debating between Russain Red and Honey Love.. total opposites right? No worries lol I'm gonna go pick up Russian Red soon enough, it's such a perfect warm red!

I've been contemplating about what I should write about on my blog for my next post, its been almost a week and I haven't updated you guys, I'm sorry ): I've been busy with school and trying my best to get into the school spirit (& I finally have! Small Haul: Accessories from Charlotte Russe

Its time to accessorize ! Today after watching Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana (which is a great movie! ) I stopped by the mall nearby to find a good "Statement" type necklace.. and luckily Charlotte Russe had a few.

I really like Charlotte compared to Forever 21 only because their prices are more affordable, especially their accessories. I stopped at Forever 21 first and they have a great selection of pretty sprarkley glittery rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets however I wanted to see if I can find anything similar in Charlotte, and I did.

They're having a sale, 3 (rings, bracelets, earrings) for 10$ and each and EVERY necklace is on sale for....5$

My "Statement" necklace I chose, I'll be sure to buy a few more.

Easy tips on how to help make up lasting all day

I know it's late to do a post about this ( summer is coming to an end and that is when most of us want our foundation/makeup lasting all day ) But recently I bought myself a NARS SHEER GLOW foundation (it isn't suppose to be long lasting) and I usually purchase something that lasts long like Revlon ColorStay or MAC pro longwear. But since I purchased something that isn't made for the longevity of a product, I thought I'd share my tips on how I go about the day without my make up budging. & yes this goes for make up and not only foundation.

Starting with face, make sure to moisturize, I don't know how much I can put this forward but it is necessary when applying make up or anything on the face to moisturize, especially if you have dry skin.

FOR OILY SKIN: Here's a quick tip, instead of applying moisturizer all over the face, spread it on the edges of your face working inwards so that most of the product goes to your outter area where most of us aren't oily. Therefore less product goes in your T Zone where it tends to be more oily.
FOR DRY SKIN: You wanna make sure you moisture heavily in the winter time so that your make up doesn't cake up or flake on. Keep and eye out for products stating "Ultra Moisturizing", "Hydrates" During the summer you wanna switch over to something that isn't as oistuerzing, stay away from titles listed above. (=

Primer is key when wanting your make up to last all day. When choosing a primer go with one that carries SPF so in the summer you don't have to worry about adding another product. MAC carry's one which is my fav since it has an SPF of 50 ! Other brands carry primers as well it all depends which you are comfortable using because one brand might work for me while the other doesnt. Think of a primer as a base coat on your polish, it smoothes the nails and adds a layer where nail polish can easily glide on too. Same goes for a primer on the face.

Foundation, now if you really want yours to stay on the whole day check for products that say their long lasting or long wearing. Some of the ones I know of are, Revlon Colorstay, MAC Pro Longwear and recently Smashbox has one out as well in their studio line. With those you can skip a few steps and not worry too much, however with the ones that aren't long wearing follow the steps I say here.

Blush/Bronzer is essential when you're going out or wanna contour your face/highlight it. If you realize your powder blush/bronzer isn't lasting throughout the day try applying a creame blush underneath, layer it so if one budges, there's another layer underneath. Also it will allow the powder blush to stick onto something.

Eyes: Prime your eyelids before applying any eyeshadow on, the reason for this is because we don't want our eye shadows falling down and creasing on our eyelids. Primers will allow your shadow to stick on and not allow it to crease. Creasing creates a messy outcome, without a primer the eyeshadow might look good but as hours pass, it wont. Also primers allow the color to be more vibrant.

Lips: If you have dark lips and want the true color of your lipstick to show up, conceal your lips with a concealer so that you have a blank canvas to work with. Hydrate your lips the night before applying a lipstick color that is dark because if you moisturize 5-10 minutes before, the lipstick will have more of a chance to bleed through or slip off because of the moisty canvas. Also moisturizing your lips gets rid of chapped lips (Now who wants that!) There are a few brands that carry long wearing lipsticks such as MAC and L'Oreal, also I think Revlon has some to.

If you're not a fan of lipsticks, try LIP STAINS there perfect for the younger crowd ( and older! ) because there like a marker, they don't go away easily and more bullet proof I guess you can say. Cover Girl has a line and maybe Maybeline as well.

Ending the full face there are 3 easy steps you should note down to help your make up lasting all day. Moisturize, Prime, and Mist. I feel as long as you have a great primer and misting spray at the end, it shouldn't be hard to have your make up lasting all day or at least more than 8 hours. One make up setting spray I swear by is the Urban Decay Setting Spray and a cheaper alternative is the Elf Make Up Mist which is 3$ at Target or at their website.

Hey guys! Have you ever felt that the nude lipstick you picked up just seems to make you look dead? Or it just doesn't seem to work for you? Well I have a few tips that I myself found to work for me.

Firstly, don't confuse nude lips to making it seem like you have none at all, just allow it to brighten up your face or town down any eye look that you have going on. Such as when wearing heavy smokey eyes, (Kim Kardashian) she always plays it out with a nude lip or a hint of pinks, why? You want the main focus to be on your eyes, not your lips. When wearing any type of look or going for any you want to make sure THATS your main focus not everything else, then it'll look.. complicated-chaotic (I know in a face? LOL)
Here are some tips I found on BellaSugar.

For fair or pale skin : Avoid beige colors, avoid any creame colored lipsticks because it will truly wash out your face, try and go with something with a hint of color in it such as "High Tea from MAC".
Golden Undertones: If you just got a tan or have some golden undertones/yellow undertone go with something beiges, and caramel underetones, it wont wash out your face at all instead brighten in and have some contrast in context with your skintone shade. "Promiscuous from NARS"
Olive skin: Based on Bella Sugar if you have olive skin tones then you dont have to worry about colors, but I wouldn't suggest that. I have a little of Olive skintone and Yellow, I feel something not too light like beiges, I feel something with a little color helps. Any mauvey nudes are great such as "Till Tomorrow from MAC".
For a Dark skintone: Coffee colored lipsticks, make sure you don't buy something really really light as though it looks... I don't even know the word lol. Just try not to get something outrageously light, I understand you want it to be nude, but not that nude.

If you're afraid that your not sure which color suits you, try drugstore lipsticks first! This goes for anything, from foundations to lipsticks especially specific ones Darks to Nudes, the drugstores should be your first trial and error.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Prestige Lipsticks

Hey guys! I have another review I want to share with you. This product I feel doesn't receive the full attention it deserves. It can be compared with a lot different brands however this price wise is perfect.

We've all heard of prestige's great liquid eyeliners, but has anyone ever seen their lipsticks? If you're like me and love matte shades in eye shadows, blushes to lipsticks I say check out prestige. They have a few color selections in their lipstick ile and majority of them are mattes. This brand however cannot be found everywhere, you can surely find them at ULTA but when it comes down to drugstores, only some carry them. I've seen this brand in Rite Aid, and that's as far as I remember, sorry.

I actually had two from them but.. lost one ): it was the perfect cranberry red color and of course matte. But thankfully I still have my Rayon color.

COST: 5/5 - The lipsticks range anywhere between 4-6$ depending where you purchase them. I bought mine for $3.99 I believe, not quiet sure. Since they have a few color ranges, if you're one of those who is afraid to try out bright colors or even dark and don't want to splurge on brands like MAC and NARS, then surely give these a try.

APPLICATION: 5/5 - The lipsticks are very pigmented, with one swatch of it the color comes out very well. It isn't to dry or extremely creamy where you might have a problem. The great thing about it is that it doesn't dry out your lips unlike others. Its quiet adoring to your lips where you don't need to worry about it drying up and you can see your lips peeling and it isn't to creamy where the longevity doesnt last. The lipsticks are smooth and have a matte finish (depending which one you get)

PACKAGING: 4/5- I actually love the packaging. On the bottom you can see which shade your grabbing if your in a hurry or even in the store trying to find the right color. The shade on the bottom (you can see in the pictures) stay true to its color, not lighter or darker PLUS!! LOL. The packaging also isn't plastic it feels like its metal, its a clean smooth silver which looks sleek. I just wish it was black ): lol.

OVERALL: 5/5 - Again as I stated before, if you don't want to dash out $10+ dollars on one lipstick, try out the drugstore ones, they might surprise you. Also matte shades are really hard to find so since prestige has a lot of them in their collection, check them out. But because their brand is hard to find everywhere, it sucks ): I can't always go buy more because god knows if the store still has the colors in stock!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Mac Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage SPF 50

Hey guys ! This post is going be a review on the Mac Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage SPF 50. <- That's a mouth full lol.

This product is essential to oily/combination skin but definitely can be used on any skin types. It helps your make up stay on for hours (just as the All Nighter Spray from UD).

This:
1) Primes the skin
2) Protects the face from UVA/UVB sun rays with a SPF of 50
3) Moisturizes the skin

On the MAC website, it's stated that "A skin-protecting cream with SPF 50. Applies under makeup to prime the skin for the sun. Featherweight, fast-absorbing, oil-free, invisible. Will not affect the look, texture or long-wear integrity of your makeup. Specially formulated with oil-absorbing powder, helps prevent oil breakthrough. Provides high-level broad spectrum sun protection. Worn daily helps guard the skin against discolouration, premature aging, dryness and other effects of sun exposure. "

Now for the basic run down

Cost: 2/5 - This costs 30.00 USD $ which is a lot considering the amount you get in the tube which is 1 fl. oz. Although you only need a nickel size amount for the whole face, I really debate if I want to re-splurge on the item though I love it.

Packing: 3/4 - I'm not too happy about the packing on this item, the bottle is really hard and stiff so if it comes down to a time when you have a little left, you might want to cut the tube to scrap the excess left. What I did was I depotted it? I took an empty sample container and squeezed all of the product out, I think this is a better option :)

Application: 5/5 - Applying this is the same way anyone would apply a primer/moisturizer. It isn't too creamy or too liquidy. It comes out as a white cream and absorbs within the skin within 5-10 minutes. Though it contains a higher SPF it doesn't leave such a harsh white cast which is great !

OVERALL: 4/5 I really do enjoy using this product, I've had mine since March and I have a little more than half left which is a good deal for the 30$ I had to cash out. It helps my make up stay long lasting through out the whole day literally along with the high SPF which is awesome for the summer time.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Urban Decay All Nighter Spray

Hey guys, here is my first review on a product I've been using non-stop ever since I got it. I bought the UD setting spray during the 15% off sephora was having a while back and I'm glad I bought it. It is a phenomenal product for those of us who want our foundations/make up to last all day.

First off I have combination/oily skin

The product states (directly from the urban decay website): "In an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, we developed this groundbreaking setting spray that keeps your makeup on for 16 unbelievable hours. Legendary enough that it’s already inspired imitations, All Nighter boasts a patent pending Temperature Control Technology that makes this weightless mist so powerful and sets it far above the competition. Your makeup won’t melt when it's warm and humid or become dehydrated when it’s cold and windy. Yes, it actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eyeshadow, blush and concealer in place. The sprayer, unlike others on the market, delivers a micro-fine mist that distributes product evenly over the skin. "

Don't mistaken this product as another alternative for your Mac Fix + ! I wouldn't recommend spritzing this before you apply your make up though some do. Also you can use this as a mixing medium for your loose pigments and eye shadows.

Cost: 4/5 - This spray is $29.00 USD Dollars (4 oz). At first I didn't wanna splurge that much on a spray and not knowing if it actually works. It comes in a travel size (.34 oz) @ $11.00 USD, now that's expensive ! But seriously now that I've bought it, it's worth it !

Packaging: 2/5 - The label looks fake? I know that sounds weird but when you see it, you'll understand. Its as if it was printed out on a regular label we can buy at drugstores lol. The nozzle is pretty "cheap" being that it costs nearly $30.00. Its a regular hair spray nozzle (not an aresole can).

Application: 5/5 - It's easy to apply, just spritz about 3-4 pumps all over the face and wait till it absorbs through. I think I read this at sephora but it says to apply in either a T motion or a diagonal across the face, T because I'm assuming to cover our T zone area prone to oiliness. It absorbs within a minute or two, usually I apply my MAC MSF after.

Personally my way of application which helps is by applying my foundation and concealer first and spritzing about 3 pumps, then doing my eye/blush make up and spritzing another 3 pumps. I think you have to layer this product about twice to see results.

Overall: 5/5 - I love this product and can swear by it! Especially because summer is here and we're all worried about our makeup melting off, this is a life savor. My makeup and I are ONE from the starting of my day till the end!

hmm.. I need to become an avid user of my own blog, these once in a blue moon postings just aren't doing it.

Truth be told, its not like I forget about updating and whatnot, I do remember, I swear ! Lol - it's just being able to have the time and actually sit down and type shit up. Main reason why I finally found time? I ran out of my top coat of seche vite and I have to wait patiently as my nails dry... & I'm sure many of the girls.. and guys? out there know how that feels. Boo! I need to buy some asap. Usually in the middle as I type.. I tell myself "damn i seriously need a life" aha. - Either way, I do like updating this thing whether anyone reads it or not.

Random thought, I dont understand why people falsify honest facts about their lives, oh wait those two words are exact opposite aha, oh well. Well actually I do know why they do it, expect it just erks me when they lie through their teeth trying to make themselves look WAY better than they are. I mean... Thank god for Karma right? Lets just hope while I'm here blabbing about something I cannot control and karma is on it's way to work its magic :-)

RANDOM yet again

It's raining so damn hard that I can't even hear myself talk.. (I'm currently outside on my porch watching some hindi movie -_-) I had plans for today, to head out to queens to see my girl& get some shopping done but as always things never turn out the way the seem to be. Plans are always unsuccessful ah. It hasn't rained like this in weeks, the continuous and unstoppable rain fall.. it's been like this for over an hour.. hmm wonder how long it'll last.

Rain.. please don't come tomorrow.. I mean yes you are invited from what I see on the weather channel however, you're UNWANTED.

The days are going by to slowly... my girl left to the Army :/ gaah. Don't know if any of you have experienced this but... ever had your best friend leave you for a long period of time? It feels shitty knowing the person you would tell everything too, share secrets, text every 5 minutes about WHAT JUST HAPPENED has left.. or isn't coming back anytime soon. It's so weird to think back when this chic and I first met, I wouldn't have expected us to be this close at all. Most girls in my presence are extremely stuck up or just not the type I'd get along with [i have so many] but Maria (my bff) is different, and I'm glad she is.

There's this baby doll staring dead at me.. so scary (its the neighbors) they step on it's face cause it's funny. It looks so funny and scary ahhh

I think that's enough rambling for tonight. gooooooooooooooodnight. and thankfully the rain has stopped a little. just drizzles.

New years meant for resolutions? Well ritually yes but you see, I've stopped (:

I dont find any reason for me to keep a list or even make a new year's resolution anymore because of the following reasons. I never keep them, maybe for the next few days, and when I say few, I literally mean like two [2] days. Another being, So far from what I can remember New years has never gone the way I'd want them to. Yeah I've spent all of the years with my fam being present, but not the way most people would spend their new years PARTY HARDYShoot I'm not saying I mind spending it with my mother and all -- but I just wish they were as free-spirited as I am. This year along with the past 3-4 years we sat in front of the TV drank the night away [soda] smh haha and some snacks & the snacks were AWESOME! This year we had some Tostidas[?] I was eating it past 3 AM :x another reason why I can't keep new years resolution [ I LOVEEE FOOD ]

New year's is suppose to make a person feel refreshed, delighted and of course NEW. I haven't felt that way ever on new years. Maybe on a Monday? Or even a Friday haha but never no new year's yet another reason why New year's is just [UGH]. Hope you guys know what I'm talking about tho about feeling refreshed on weekdays. You know wakin' up on Mondays up& about getting ready for school/work knowing its a 'new day'.

Ahhhh a most recent thing I've noticed about myself is that, when there's too many people in my house [everyone] I get a headache -- it's one thing when their all sleeping or in their rooms, but when their in the living room where the computer is also--- ahh forget about it. Its like I get freakin' frustrated as if I can't think or do anything straight. Especially for the past few days since I've been sick :/

On a brighter note: My sister's 2nd birthday is coming up and I can't wait to eat her cake -_- fooooood poisonous to some people like me.

btw: That list I typed two posts down or so -- hahahahahahahaha so did not happen besides like 2 or 3, also the Olay quench sucks like a motherfuckerr. waste of money and time.

As much as I want to finish my final essay for my modern mind class, I'm way too busy drifting off in other thoughts -_- which I'm hating. I just hate when I have to do a paper on a subject i'm totally clueless on, I wanna BS my ass through it, but it ain't workin :/

[Men and Women]: I personally think that its easier for men to cheat or have an affair or even flirt with other women. Reason being, some women are.. just easy to get especially the younger ones -_-! Guys usually are more OUT there than women, they are capable to flirt and talk their way out of many situations. Also, if their spouse is concerned and curious a little too much, he might think she's being too controlling and he's under a leash o.0. Women are known to be suspicious of their man because let's face it, we're a little more emotional when it comes down to romance or love between any two people. Trust is a factor that is usually given into a relationship in the beginning but slowly lost at times through out one and EXTREMELY HARD to be gained. It sucks when a relationship is running on a thing string without any trust. /: VATEVEAH.

A new experience for everyone who has entered this Fall. Very different than High School, you don't need no damn persons permission to use the bathroom or even take a phone call. AHH HILLCREST where cellphones weren't allowed >.< damn idiots. Now i'm saving some MONE-AYYYYYYY! before i had to spend 2$ a day to put in my cell phone, and my zune in the nearest store so they could hold it for till i got out of school, so did 89327497324 other students. The sad part was.. through out half of the year my cell was waaaaaaaaaack. I switched over to a pearl which i initially had but wrecked the screen horribly purposely x; yes I know who would do suchathing? MEEEEEEEE =D

The professors are alright.. Actually all of them are minus one. My English teacher's horrible ahh i have so much against him its re-dick-u-lous. smh. The fella always fosuses on how he isn't like high school teachers, he doesn't help students who need help. He talks while he wants us to WRITE, how obnoxious? Imagine concentraiting on a sentence & out of no where dumbitchass comes out saying "If you do not know what your suppose to do, i suggest u ask your partner or leave this class" I mean god damn we're already 5 min into the assignment no need to say something like that. He fouscues on how we don't do this & that how we should do this & that but in reality I wonder what he's hiding from all of us. I mean when a person is always pin pointing others, it makes you think... Whats the real issue, because after explainin yourself for 329048943 days, dontchu think WE GET IT?! jeez.

My Classes are good too, besides my Mondays& Thursdays, they suck. Mondays I have class from 3-9PM & Thursday I have a 6 hour break which I spend home.. but who has the strength to go all the way back from 1 class? ;/ My business class is 3 hours and.. well I HATE IT. I didn't ask for it, but there wasn't anything left ;| I don't have any interest in that area, and by the look of it I don't think I'll even understand it. OH & the book costs 125$ D= boo hoo ! I could do so much with that LOL. I wonder if I could go to the library to do the assignments.. wonder how that'd work out.

I think that's enough for now... its almost 6AM I just morethanhalf completed 1/3 essays, all are due on Tuesday each 3 page long.. Do i got it in me? GOD I HOPE SO =/ wish me LUCK <3

Yet again its been a while since I updated previously, shocking? Naaaaah =)

Summer finally hit, pretty late though but I'm not complaining since it'll hopefully breeze through September.. One thing that might be typically harder this year is Ramadan (for those of you who aren't sure what that is, that's the whole month in which we Muslims fast, how exciting!) Summer feels a little boring this year around, though I have manymany things to do which of course as I am.. procrastinating.. Mostly to do with College shiiiiiiiit. That placement test yeah, i've been meaning to get to it along with transferring my damn transcript.

Someone very important to me, someone that gives me meaning to my life finally confessed to me that they don't understand me. For a year we've been together, and yet he still does not understand me, not that many people do so I cant blame him. But I have a quick question, how do you change the way you think? Your thoughts, Your feelings, the emotions that take over your mind. I was told.. "Instead of you controlling your mind, your mind controls you" true story at times I do think my mind controls everything, yeah I'm suppose to be the one control everything expect feelings that rush through my body though it might be hard. ;( When it comes down to others vs. others I think positive, tell them to think positive, look at things a little differently but lately i've realized if I were in there position, would I think positively? No.. This should have been in my new year resolution or something lol. Having a brighter sense in thought. I get where he's completely coming from because I bared these feelings, these types of thoughts for years without putting any recognition into it of what it might do to the people around me, especially the ones that truly mean a lot to me. I bet more than half of you guys are confused considering the fact that you dont know me, but all in all since I cant help myself but ramble off, "My name is Erin Nowrose and I can't help myself from thinking negatively." =D. I'll write more jibberish about this later, for now thats all.

AHHH! another poke on the ass.. gotta get my damn PERMIT MOM: How does a long island girl NOT have a permit and she's almost 18! DAMN IT. lol

So I guess its been quiet a while since I've been on this thing. Is it okay to think you're bipolar sometimes? Is it okay that its acceptable to you? Hmph... Not saying that I am... but of course I think some of us have those feelings where we feel like something one day, and weeks and/or months later we feel completely opposite? Wonder if that's the cycle of life, it evolves and changes, and at times brings us back to the same place... again.

Its Sunday morning 3:47 AM & I have no sleep in my eyes. Sure as hell my body's tired but not in the mood to go sleep and waste my precious time. Feeling as if there are many things that have been left unsaid and certain things should be coming out real soon for discovery. If I shut down now, then those words will be lost in the mist of uncertainty and beg to come out again.

Nothing in this world can take away that feeling. No matter how much fun you have, no matter how the amounts of people that still till this day love you can take away the feeling you feel for *.

At times I don't want to try and forget because it makes up me, and I like reminiscing about those times for my own good. But doing that am I hurting another? Am I being selfish and only doing myself a favor? Am I taking both sides into consideration? Should I.. ? It hurts to the point where deep inside, I engrave a whole which I can not fix.

You'll be smiling and dazing at things that you have no control over. Dazed out, staring in midair reminiscing wondering how things were.

I kind of know I'm hurting myself intentionally, but it feels good. Pain is pleasure, the joy that kills what else is there. Quotes speak to me, it speaks my mind.

Have you ever had that instant feeling where you can say so much shit about one particular person but deep inside you know you're lying to yourself? As much as you think you despise that person, you don't. Lying to yourself became so easy that you even forgot that you once shared a connection, memories and smiles together. Lied so much that 'ew' was an instant remark after hearing their name. Until the person who you thought took over their place proves to you that no, in fact their place still exists somewhere deep inside your, heart.
