He has again proven this statement to be true by winning this weekend's tournament, the Accenture Match Play. Not only did he win the crown, but he did it in a dominating fashion. He ended the 36-hole match with a 8-and-7 victory, the biggest winning margin in the tournament's history. The win also gave him a few more things to add to his resume: Holding all 3 of the world titles at the same time, having a 4-tournament winning streak under his belt, and a 5-world tournament streak. Even more impressive, Tiger said after the match "I think this is the best stretch I've ever played". Is this the peak of Tiger Woods? Will anyone step up this year to make a fierce competitor? Will Tiger finally succeed in the Triple Crown? The only way to answer these questions is by watching this summer's golf!

He was rushed to a Buffalo hospital to have immediate surgery on the wound. After 2 hours in the operating room, he is now stable and on the road to recovery..and hopefully playing again.

This type of injury is the second the Sabres have seen. Clint Malarchuk had a similar incident while playing goalie for the Sabres. Malarchuk's accident happened about 19 years ago, and I hope it will be another 19 years (or more) before it happens in the NHL again.

I was hoping to see history last night, but the Giants were the better team and the outcome of the game showed it. The Giants are a fun team to watch, and I have kept a close eye on their games throughout the year. Eli started off the year struggling, but ended the year as the Super Bowl MVP. His play throughout the playoffs and last night has been no less than stellar! He did deserve the MVP for the game, but so did the Giant Defense. They played out of their minds and kept Brady from having any chance for good timing. Congratulations to the New York Giants, and enjoy the excitement that comes with it!

Throughout the week, we have seen blowouts (USC, Georgia), upsets (West Virginia, Michigan), and even close wins (Kansas). With only a few games left, and the Championship game coming up on Monday, what should we expect? The only thing that is guaranteed is great football!

I feel that Ohio State and LSU will be a great matchup for the final College game of the year. My guess is that it will be a close game, but LSU will come up with the win. It is hard to say that Ohio State may lose 2 years in a row, but I feel that LSU is a little more well-rounded, and can squeak out the win. Cheers to a great game...I will be watching!

I enjoyed watching a white screen all day that was called the Browns vs. Bills game, the extremely high gusts of wind in the Sunday night game, and many others. For upsets, I was shocked to see Dallas losing to Philadelphia and San Francisco winning their match against Cincinnati. The game that impressed me the most though was the Overtime win for Miami.

A few weeks ago, many people throughout the country were impressed with how Baltimore played against the New England Patriots. They had the game won until Brady and Co. were able to pull out a game-winning TD drive. This week, they lose to the winless Miami Dolphins? The win came from a 64-yard catch and run to Greg Camarillo in Overtime. The series before that, Matt Stover missed a 44-yard field goal that would have given Baltimore the win and kept Miami winless.

Cleo Lemon had a good day with 315 yards passing, 12 yards rushing, and 1 passing TD. His favorite receiver of the day was Greg Camarillo with 3 receptions, 109 yards, and that winning TD. Marty Booker also had a good day with 8 receptions and 88 yards. For the Miami rushing game, Samkon Gado was the lead rusher with 43 yards and 1 TD.

Congratulations to the Miami Dolphins for finally getting a win for the season!

Three out of the four divisions in the NFC and one team in the AFC have clinched their divisions and one team has guaranteed themselves at least a wild card spot. The team that did not win their game this week to clinch their division was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They had an extremely poor outing against the Houston Texans.

Yes, I said that Tampa lost to Houston. It was a game that I expected to be a blow out, but not with Houston on the winning end of it!

Both teams had a backup quarterback starting this week. Sage Rosenfels has proven to the league that he can play the game, and he did so again this week. He was 27/36 in passing, 209 yards and 3 TDs. He managed the game perfectly, and he did it against a tough defense. Andre Johnson was the top receiver for Houston with 9 catches for 82 yards and 1TD. The offensive stats for Tampa were similar, but their 2 offensive TDs were from runs by Earnest Graham. Graham had 61 yards rushing, 6 catches for 45 yards.

Houston was beat for penalties against, total yards, and time of possession. So, why did they win the game? When it counted, the Houston defense played solid. They were able to hold Tampa out of the end zone...something we all know is needed to win a game! The special teams also played well. Their highlight for the game was a 97-yard kick return by Andre Davis.

This week was the start of seeing who will make it to the playoffs, but the next couple weeks will determine the rest of the brackets!

These teams know how important it is to win out the season, and they know any mistake can cause them to start booking early vacations! Unless a miracle happens, a team that lost last night and looks to be out of the playoff race is the Denver Broncos.

Going into the game, they were at 5-6 with a lot of other teams in the AFC, but losing to the Oakland Raiders did not help. The offensive statistics were decent, but not stellar, and the defense could not stop Oakland from scoring. Josh McCown had 141 yards passing and 3 TDs. The amazing stat that I saw was that the amazing Denver secondary did not have one interception on Oakland. The other big offensive player for the Raiders was Justin Fargas. He had 146 yards rushing, 2 receptions for 18 yards, and 1 TD.

Oakland is on a 2-game winning streak, but has a very difficult schedule coming up (Green Bay, Indianapolis). It looks like their winning streak was a little too early!

Everything that I expect to happen every week does not. The amounts of upsets this year are amazing, and even games that the favorite wins are too close for comfort. I feel that this year's NFL is filled with Great teams and teams that are bad. Every week though, a couple bad teams show a spark and make you wonder...

This week's surprise for me had to have been the Minnesota Vikings beating the New York Giants by a large margin. I did not watch this game, but when I saw the score, I had to go look how the Vikings were able to score 41 points. It was even more shocking to see that only 20 points (2 TDs, 2 FGs) came from the offensive side. Eli Manning threw 4 interceptions, and had 3 of them run back for touchdowns. I have never seen a defense outscore their offense!

Neither offense deserves any praise. Their numbers were lack-luster. It was a defensive battle, but who has ever heard of a defensive battle that has 58 total points scored? The game ball this week deserves to go to the outstanding play of their defense!

After yesterday's game against the tough Washington Redskins, Dallas is showing why they want to be known as the top team!

It was a tough game for Dallas, but they were able to squeeze out a victory by keeping the Redskins out of the endzone for most of the game. They only allowed 2 Touchdowns, and had to settle for 3 field goals. Tony Romo looked great on the offensive side of the ball with 293 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 Interception. The running game could not get off the ground with only 72 yards between 3 players. The big player of the day has to be TO (Terrell Owens). He had 8 catches, 173 yards, and 4 TDs. It was an amazing day for him!

So, is Dallas the best team in the NFC? It is a tough call between them and Green Bay!

Others even called the game Super Bowl 41 1/2. The game was between the New England Patriots (8-0) and the Indianapolis Colts (7-0). The 2 combined undefeated records was the highest between opponents in history. I made sure that I tuned in for the game, and I was not disappointed.

I was amazed that the game was based on what defense was going to be able to control the other's offense. I expected that both offenses were going to be able to roll over the opponent's, and the outcome of the game was going to be from the team that did not make a mistake. For most of the game however, the Colts looked like the dominant team while New England made a few bad mistakes and really was losing because of penalties. With 2 crucial scoring drives and a key fumble recovery by the Patriots, New England was able to keep their undefeated record going.

Who gets the game ball? I really do not think one can be given out for this week. Brady had a good week with 255 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 INTs, but the defense did a great job keeping the Colts from putting up a major amount of points in the game. It was a tough win, so maybe anyone for the Patriots that did not have a penalty on them should get the game ball this week!

Today's sporting news: Week 9 - New England Patriots
