Each one of us, Facebookers, have heard once or many times that one of our friend’s account has been hacked into. Not only is it troublesome to your friends but can also get annoying for the associated people as the hacker attains access to their information as well

1. Enable https:

If you bookmark any social network like Facebook, use HTTPS not HTTP for the URL as it will encode your communication instead of

giving a straight access to any intruder.

You will know that the extent of the security is increased when for any new application; you will have to disable this setting first.

Log into your Facebook account > Choose “Account Settings” from the “Account” menu> Select “Account Security” and select “change”> Ensure there is a tick next to the “Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible” option > Click “Save”.

2. Online Chat:

The online chat feature isn’t as safe as you think it is. I have no technical proof for mentioning this but using online chat has often led to fake comments to my friends supposedly made by me. Obviously, I never made those comments.

Additionally, scams on Facebook have also been seen by many of us. This might also lead to using the online chat service. Hence, keep your chat offline when not needed.

Disable the chat service by clicking the gear-like button on the right-side of the chat window and going offline from there. You can then close the chat window. You will see “offline” written on the chat tab.

3. Control Permissions Granted to Third Party Apps:

Once you give access of your profile to an app on Facebook, the app is allowed to access your profile whether or not you continue using that application. By going to this link (review your Facebook app permissions ) you may restrict the app from further accessing your profile in the future. The extended list of granted permissions still using your profile may come as a shock to you!

4. Text Message Notifications:

You can be notified when your account is signed in from a device which not the computer you use or your own mobile phone. Facebook sends you a text message for each such login if is activated in your settings.

To get this service, go to Account Settings and under Security Settings you can manage this setting.

Under Security Settings, go to login approvals followed by login notifications.

You can either select email or text notifications and you will get instantly informed. This will also approve your primary computer and your mobile phone as supported access points.

5. Maintain public and private email addresses:

The given email used to set up a Facebook account should be a different one from the ones used for more sensitive purposes such as a Paypal account.

Here is the Trick...

in this trick we use the ping utility of MS dos to determine the real Ip address of a website.Before using this utility, make sure you are not mapping a host name to some IP address with HostName Commander, because if you do, the PING utility will show the address you’ve set up with HostName Commander, instead of the “real” IP address.

To run the PING utility, click on the Windows Start button, and choose Run from the Start Menu. If you use Windows 95,98, or Me, enter “command” (without the quotes) as the command line to run. If you use Windows XP,2000, or NT, enter “cmd” (again, without the quotes). Click OK and the command prompt window should appear on the screen.

Now enter the word “ping” (without the quotes) followed by a space, followed by the host name you want to determine the IP address of, and press Enter:

In This ex. the IP address of rgpv.ac.in is 182.18.149.117.

Facebook Timeline, an aggravating factor for some; exciting for some. Lately I got a question from my companion that how to get rid off facebook timeline. So I believed to create a specific content on it. Because it is said that there is no formal way to get returning old looking facebook information web page, you can return it returning properly only if you have allowed it (via fb programmer account) before it combined out openly. So I have decided to give a series of post on this topic....Today's post is an introductory post on this topic . I’m now discovering all the methods used to hack Facebook password and some counter measures can also help you protect your Facebook account from hacking.

Following are the main methods used--

1)Facebook Phishing Attack

3)By hacking the Primary E-mail address
4)Social Engineering or simply guess your password

1)Facebook Phishing Attack:

This is the most easiest and the most popular method for hacking Facebook passwords. I studied the various investigations related to actions about hacking facebook password. The results of these investigations show “phishing” is the main method to hack facebook password,”Phishing” is a method preferred by facebook hackers. So, friends, phishing facebook Beware. Keylogging is easier if you have physical access to the computer victims only have to do is install a keylogger and send it to your aim, so it sends all the recorded keystrokes intended focus. What is a keylogger does is it stores keystrokes in a log file and then can these logs to get the required password and Facebook can not hack facebook password.

3)By hacking the Primary E-mail address:

If a Facebook hacker or any special Keylogger, by any means, hacks your primary Gmail or Yahoo account which you are using as the primary e-mail address, then the hacker can easily hack your Facebook password by using “forgot password” trich. It is simple for Hackers asks Facebook to send password to the primary email address and ask Facebook administrator to send the reset e-mail to your primary e-mail address which is already hacked. So your Facebook password will be reset and also will be hacked!
So do not forget to try to protect your primary e-mail address and try to keep unknown e-mail or useless e-mail ID as your primary email address.

4)Social Engineering or simply guess your password:

This method seems not enough work at first. Even me, I neglected Sun But when I’m using it against my friend on Facebook and I am his Facebook password very easily with this method. I think many of you know, win what social engineering, for beginners, the social engineering method of recovery password or answer to the question of safety with just the victim. You must be very careful with that victims are not aware of your intention. Ask him carefully with your logic.
Here is some common passwords you can try to guess your password:
1. Your mobile number or your girlfriend or boyfriend mobile number.
2. Your girlfriend or boyfriend names.
3. Date of Birth
4. Your favorite movie names, the names of the cartoon character or favorite band name or names only heroes like Batman, The Dark Knight, Superman, Godzilla, Spartacus, and more ..
5. The main need now, most will forget to ask local alphanumeric now that the user only 1,2,3 smarter in their passwords and some normal guys have added to their passwords !,@,# and surprisingly all right.

Computer hacking is most common among teenagers and young adults, although there are many older hackers as well. Many hackers are true technology buffs who enjoy learning more about how computers work and consider computer hacking an “art” form. They often enjoy programming and have expert-level skills in one particular program. For these individuals, computer hacking is a real life application of their problem-solving skills. It’s a chance to demonstrate their abilities, not an opportunity to harm others.

Since a large number of hackers are self-taught prodigies, some corporations actually employ computer hackers as part of their technical support staff. These individuals use their skills to find flaws in the company’s security system so that they can be repaired quickly. In many cases, this type of computer hacking helps prevent identity theft and other serious computer-related crimes.

Common Methods for Hacking Computer Terminals(Servers):

This comprises of either taking control over terminal(or Server) or render it useless or to crash it.. following methods are used from a long time and are still used..

1. Denial of Service -

DoS attacks give hackers a way to bring down a network without gaining internal access. DoS attacks work by flooding the access routers with bogus traffic(which can be e-mail or Transmission Control Protocol, TCP, packets).

2. Distributed DoSs -

Distributed DoSs (DDoSs) are coordinated DoS attacks from multiple sources. A DDoS is more difficult to block because it uses multiple, changing, source IP addresses.

3. Sniffing -

Sniffing refers to the act of intercepting TCP packets. This interception can happen through simple eavesdropping or something more sinister.

4. Spoofing -

Spoofing is the act of sending an illegitimate packet with an expected acknowledgment (ACK), which a hacker can guess, predict, or obtain by snooping

5. SQL injection -

SQL injection is a code injection technique that exploits a security vulnerability occurring in the database layer of an application. It uses normal SQL commands to get into database with elivated privellages..

6. Viruses and Worms -

Viruses and worms are self-replicating programs or code fragments that attach themselves to other programs (viruses) or machines (worms). Both viruses and worms attempt to shut down networks by flooding them with massive amounts of bogus traffic, usually through e-mail.

7. Back Doors -

Hackers can gain access to a network by exploiting back doors administrative shortcuts, configuration errors, easily deciphered passwords, and unsecured dial-ups. With the aid of computerized searchers (bots), hackers can probably find any weakness in the network.

The longest and most tiring job.. don't even consider this if you don't know the SET of password for your victim..

11. Secret Question -

According to a survey done by security companies, it is found that rather than helping the legitimate users the security questions are more useful to the hackers.. So if you know the victim well try this..

12. Social Engineering -

Ya this was one of the oldest trick to hack.. Try to convince your user that you are a legitimate person from the system and needs your password for the continuation of the service or some maintainence.. This won't work now since most of the users are now aware about the Scam.. But this Social Engginering concept is must for you to have to convince victim for many reasons..!!!

13. Phishing -

This is another type of keylogging, here you have to bring the user to a webpage created by you resembling the legitimate one and get him to enter his password, to get the same in your mail box..!! Use social engginering..

14. Fake Messengers -

So its a form of phishing in the application format.. getting user, to enter the login info in the software and check your maill..!!!

15. Cookie Stealer -

Here the cookie saved by the sites are taken and decoded and if you get lucky.. You have the password..!!!
Hmmm.. not satisfied with single account at a time..?? so there are ways to hack lots of accounts together.. I know few but there exists many..!! listed are the ones i know and will teach you in coming posts...

16. DNS Poisoning or PHARMING -

So, phisihing is a tough job.. isn't it..?? convincing someone to enter their password at your page..?? what if you don't have to convince..?? what if they are directed automatically to your site without having a clue..?? Nice huh..?? Pharming does the same for you.. More about it in my next post..

17. Whaling -

This method gets you the password of the accounts which are used by the hackers to recive the passwords.. So you just have to hack one ID, which is simplest method( Easy then hacking any other account, will tell you how in coming posts..) and you will have loads of passwords and so loads of accounts at your mercy..!!!
