Yesterday we gave you a preview of the first half of Becca and Steve’s wedding, complete with an intimate first look in the wine cellar and a beautiful ceremony. Today I’m excited to show you the rest of their amazing celebration!

Following the ceremony, they headed to dinner which was was held under a tent at Keswick Hall, lit by cafe lights. The table decorations were perfect and everyone was having a great time. This, however, was no ordinary wedding reception. After a few sweet toasts from their friends, some of the guests, along with Becca and Steve, preformed a hilarious skit! By the end of it, Steve ended up with his princess (Becca!) and it was a happy ending

I love what happened next…Steve’s family is from Philadelphia where they have a New Year’s tradition called a Mummers Parade, which includes fun costumes and music. After the preformance, every guest received a parasol and, led by Big Ray and the Kool Kats, they all paraded onto the dance floor! I love when couples incorporate traditions into their wedding that are unique to them. With the trumpet playing and brightly colored parasols twirling everywhere, they danced their way inside. It was such an awesome sight! Becca and Steve and their guests were not only super fun, but also super fit…they danced non-stop!

I am SO excited to share with you some pictures from Becca and Steve’s gorgeous wedding the other weekend. Just this week their engagement session was featured on the Charlottesville Wedding Blog, so make sure to head over there and read about how they met (it’s a hilarious story)!

It was raining on and off all day, something no bride hopes for. Fortunately, Aaron had a few great ideas of how to take advantage of the weather and get some awesome portraits of the two of them. I especially like the last photo of Becca and Steve holding an umbrella in front of Keswick Hall. The clouds looked so dramatic and made for an epic picture! The rain didn’t lower anyone’s spirits. Everyone there was smiling and celebrating the whole time! Becca and Steve are so funny and they always know how to make people laugh. Their happiness is contagious, so naturally, their wedding ceremony was full of joy! The whole day was beautiful and I can’t get enough of the flowers, the bridesmaid dresses, and especially Becca’s wedding dress! I can’t wait to share Part 2 of their wedding pictures. When I mentioned in my last post that Mary and Anthony put a lot of thought into the details of their wedding, I wasn’t kidding! Who wouldn’t love to go to a wedding reception that has cotton candy, Root Beer, a whole candy bar, and yummy Southern food!? Mary and Anthony were so creative in planning their big day and it was an awesome time! They danced under a tent into the night with the people they love. The location was incredibly beautiful so they made sure to take a walk around Pharsalia to get some great pictures with the mountains in the background (one of the perks of a Virginia wedding!) One of my favorite things they made is a sign that reads, “This is how our story begins!” They are SO excited about living life together and we were honored to be a part of that and document their day!

This wedding was filled with two things that I love: lots of beautiful moments and tons of DIY details! Today I’m going to show you a little bit of both. From the tears that welled up in Mary’s eyes when she read a note from Anthony to the excitement on Anthony’s face when he saw his bride for the first time, it was all so beautiful! Luckily the rain held off and they were able to have the ceremony outside at Pharsalia, a gorgeous venue in the mountains of Tyro, VA. I can tell that Mary and Anthony put so much thought into the details of the ceremony and reception. For their very first date in October 2009, they had a picnic together, so it was only fitting for them to have a picnic theme for their wedding. This included barrels of hay for the guests to sit on during the ceremony and picnic food for the reception, which you will see in tomorrow’s post. So get excited for part two of Mary and Anthony’s wedding pictures, there’s lots more to come!

Mary and Anthony are re-enactors in Colonial Williamsburg, Va, so they thought it would be fitting to include some fun traditions from Colonial times. Jumping the broom is an old wedding tradition that was practiced by the slaves in the South. The custom says whoever jumps the highest over the broom determines who is the head of the household. It looks like Mary won on this one

I am so excited to share with you today some pictures from this adorable family session! You might remember Tigerlilly and Aria from their earlier baby pictures. Their moms, Kris and Kat, are sisters and had them only a few months apart. It’s so fun to be able to watch these two grow together! Kris and Kat wanted to make sure to document the memories of this time by doing a Watch Me Grow package where they will do 4 sessions each to document the important milestones of their first year (so get excited because you will be seeing more of these little ones!)

This session is a particularly fun one as there are FOUR generations represented here! I love these pictures because I know they are the type that will be looked at for years to come. Who knows, maybe one day Tigerlilly and Aria will be showing them to their great grandchildren!

It was such a beautiful night. The stars were out and the air was warm. Elizabeth and Bubba stood together outside of Pippin Hall Farm as they heard the sounds of jazz music coming from the band inside. We love when couples take the opportunity to do something special together, especially amidst the busyness of the wedding day. Elizabeth and Bubba snuck away to set off a wish lantern and watched it drift through the deep blue sky, which made for some beautiful wedding pictures.

One of my favorite pictures is of their first dance, during which Elizabeth’s little niece kept running up to give Elizabeth and Bubba big hugs and dance with them. She was so sweet! Elizabeth’s dance with her dad was not your typical father-daughter dance. It started off slow but as the music picked up they both broke out with hilarious dance moves! Music has been a part of Elizabeth and Bubba’s relationship from the very beginning when they first started playing in a band together in college. They love to play and are both so talented (If you haven’t seen the Moon Rats, make sure to check them out!), so naturally they decided to sing a song together for their guests during the reception. Everyone crowded around and cheered with smiles on their faces. I just loved how the ceremony and reception perfectly reflected who Elizabeth and Bubba are as a couple – fun, loving, and full of energy. It was the perfect end to their beautiful wedding.

Elizabeth and Bubba told us that they love playing music, hosting parties, eating good food, drinking wine and getting outside to enjoy beautiful Virginia. They got to do every one of those things during their gorgeous wedding at Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyard! Pippin Hill is always beautiful, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect, giving Elizabeth and Bubba a warm day with blue skies. They had so many fun details and unique parts to their wedding, like Bubba’s home brewed beer for the guests to take home as favors, and wedding koozies to go with them! The sweet and emotional moments started right off the bat in the bridal suite when Elizabeth’s mom and dad stopped in to give her hugs, and Elizabeth’s little niece (who was the flower girl) gave her the cutest kiss ever! Another sweet moment of the day was when Elizabeth walked down the aisle; as soon as she caught sight of Bubba tears of happiness came to her eyes. There were so many emotional moments and great wedding day pictures, that we decided to do 2 sneak peeks from Elizabeth and Bubba’s wedding, so get excited for part two tomorrow!
