Dwts results show the Mirror Ball Trophy was won by singer Kellie Pickler & pro ballroom dancer Derek Hough. They had faced very stiff competition from runners up Zendaya Coleman & Val Chmerkovskiy, making his first appearance in the finals. If it were left to the judges marks alone, the winners would have been Zendaya & Val, as they were ahead on the judges leaderboard by just 1 point, after all the four dances were completed. In third place was Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff, while Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas were the first couple to be eliminated. Derek Hough has won the Mirror Ball Trophy a record 4 times, a tribute to his brilliant teaching & choreography.

Dwts results on semi-finals night were quite amazing in that several of the five semi-finalists received perfect 10 scores they were that good! First couple setting the tempo for the night's performances was Kellie Pickler & pro ballroom dancer Derk Hough. They did a magnificent Tango, for which fittingly, they got the first triple 10s for the night, one from each of the three judges. This couple almost repeated the perfect scores feat later, with their second and brand new dance for both of them, the Spanish Flamenco.

Zendaya & Val could not keep up with the pace of the music they were dancing the Quickstep to, and so could not score well, with only one 9 being their top score for this dance. However they returned with a glorious Hip Hop, of which Zendaya showed she was truly a master teacher of Hip Hop. Her pro partner had never performed this dance ever, and had to be guided by Zendaya who had been dancing Hip Hop since she was just 8 years old! Val rose to the occasion, and almost naturally, Val & Zendaya got perfect scores from the judges.

Dwts results for week 8 of Season 16 saw the establishment of Zendaya Coleman & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmerkovskiy as firm favorites. They can win the coveted mirror ball trophy, symbol of ballroom dancing supremacy. What magnificent dance performances, especially in trio with pro dancer Gleb. That very popular Salsa dance landed them the first perfect score of Season 16, a total of 30 points from Judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba & Bruno Tonioni.

Surprisingly in jeopardy were couples Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff, and Sean Lowe with Peta Murgatroyd. All three pros, Derek, Karina & Peta have been past Dwts winners. Kellie has been consistently at the top of the leaderboard, but her last dance, the Paso Doble, was criticised by the judges for lack of true Paso Doble content. This was in sharp contrast to the previous week Dwts where Kellie & Derek gained IMMUNITY from elimination, by virtue of their getting the most points of all the dancers, from the judges.

On the other hand, Jacoby Jones has put in a lot of energy & excitement to his performance on the Dwts dance floor. youtube-Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff Viennese Waltz But making it to Dwts semi-finals next week will always be tough. Fans selected the dances for each couple for next week's semi-finals via Twitter. Sean Lowe said he figured out he would have to leave when he and pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd ended up in jeopardy with the likes of Kellie Pickler & Jacoby Jones.

Dwts Season 16 Top Dance

The top dance Dwts judges chose as the encore dance for week 7 was the one by Olympic Gold medallist Aly Raisman & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas. This was significant as this couple were awarded the same score as Country Singer Kellie Pickler & pro ballroom dancer Derek Hough for their individual dances. They both scored 29 points out of the maximum 30, including perfect 10's from two out of the three judges.

It's a tie for the top Dwts dance of week 6 between the consistent & very talented ladies Kellie Pickler & Zendaya Coleman. They both scored 29 points for their Quickstep & Cha Cha respectively. However, judges felt Kellie and Derek Hough had the best dance of the season so far. Nevertheless, Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy Cha Cha was also superb.

Zendaya & Val Tango Dwts Season 16 Top Dance

There were top dances on a sad night of the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon bombing, Massachusetts. Three persons were killed, including an 8 year old boy, who only came to see his father run the Boston Marathon. 143 other persons were injured, some losing limbs. In fact, two bombs exploded one after the other, close to the finishing line of this great race.

Len's Side by Side Challenge

Celebrity ballroom dancers and their partners were required to dance side by side with a professional ballroom dancing couple. What a treat this decision by Chief Judge Len Goodman turned out to be. It was well accepted by both live audience and judges. Firstly, celebs and pros started off with a group ballroom dance. Alexandra Raisman paid tribute to all the victims of the terrorist attack in Boston, her home town.

Zendaya & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmerkovskiy posted the first perfect scores, 10s for Season 16 top dance. Two 10s in fact; one from Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, and the other from Judge Bruno Tonioni. Dwts Season 16-"Prom Night"
Remember your prom night dance? That was the theme of week 3 of Dwts. Some celebrities recalled their prom night did not work out well, others did not have any! Those that had been to their prom, brought their pictures to show. That was very interesting as it showed how the way they were, and the way they dressed many, many years ago, in some cases. Dwts viewing fans were even asked to vote for a King & Queen of the prom via Twitter. The evening in fact started with a group prom dance choreographed by Louis Van Amstel, in which all the dancing celebrities participated.

Once again Zendaya was threatening, but Kellie Pickler & pro ballroom dancer partner Derek Hough took the top dance spot with 25 points, with a polished Jive. Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy were just 1 point below, at 24, for their Viennese Waltz, dedicated to her grandma's prom night experience of 1957. That's because, at 16, Zendaya herself has not yet had a prom night experience. This season has already shown Zendaya & Kellie to be top notches above the rest of the field, with Jacoby Jones a distant third.

Jacoby Jones did not have an enjoyable Prom Night as he kept walking around thinking about the effects of
Hurricane Katrina on his native New Orleans. His home was destroyed by the powerful winds, heavy rains, and flooding. But here he was, having another Prom night on Dwts-a more memorable and enjoyable experience.

Dwts Season 16 promises to be as exciting in 2013 as in previous seasons. One of the top dances on first night, week 1, was by the youngest celebrity on show, 16 year old Disney star Zendaya Coleman. Her contemporary dance was with pro ballroom dancing partner was Val Chmerkovskiy. They were awarded 8 points by each of the judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioni & Carrie Ann Inaba. A total of 24 points for their performance.They commented on how fantastic and mature Zendaya Coleman performed.

Dwts week 2 saw the Jive being executed by Disney Star Zendoya Coleman & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmermokovskiy. Again, the execution was just tremendous, as again Zendaya & Val were top of the celebrity dancers leaderboard, jointly with Kellie Pickler & pro ballroom dancer Derek Hough, a past winner of abc dancing with the stars.! Both couples were awarded 26 points by the Judges. So much so, that there is now a huge interest in just who is Zendaya Coleman. As it turns out, Zendaya has been doing some Hip Hop dancing, and has made some videos. You can follow her videos on her youtube channel Hey its Zendaya Channel where you can subscribe for FREE.

Nfl Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones became a favorite as he brought some "spice" to the ballroom dance floor. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba felt Jacoby Jones 'got the moves', while Judge Bruno Tonioni felt he 'got the goods'.Chief Judge Len Goodman was not impressed at all by the technique & posture.

They were awarded 7 points by each of the three judges for a total of 21 points for the night. Olympic gold medal figure skater Dorothy Hamill and pro ballroom dance partner Tristan MacManus also got 21 points in the same way, for their contemporary dance.

Needless to say, this couple's grand performance gained the coveted 10 from Len, as well as from fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba & Bruno Tonioni. At last for season 16, perfect scores of 10's for judge Dwts best dance, the trio Salsa by Zendaya Coleman, and pro ballroom dancers Val Chmerkovskiy & guest Gleb. At 16 years old, Zendaya appeared to be so much at ease dancing with two men at the same time! Every step of her routine was flawless, performed with style, and the judges agreed their dance was the best dance of season 16. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba referred to Zendaya as truly the queen of the Salsa.

On Stevie Wonder night, Chief Judge Len Goodman proclaimed the Quickstep performed by Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, as the best Dwts dance of season 16. Yet still, this couple could not get perfect 10's from all three judges, only 2 out of the 3. Why was this so? It was all because judge Carrie Ann Inaba felt that they did not keep a close hold throughout the Quickstep, so she could only award 9 points. The boy judges could not disagree more. Unfortunately, 29 out of the maximum 30 points were given to the Quickstep by Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough

Zendaya & Val also scored 29 points on their beautiful individual Cha Cha dance, but the group dance performance gave team captain Kellie Pickler a higher overall score. That made her top of the judges leaderboard in week 6.

Chief Judge Len Goodman announced the Judges best dance for Len's side by side dance, where each competition couple danced alongside a pro ballroom dancing couple. Zendaya & Val got the highest points, 29 out of 30. But the encore dance chosen was the Jive as performed by Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff. It was energetic, entertaining with exciting lifts that are allowed in Jive. A well deserved choice in spite of this couple not getting the judges highest marks. Dwts week 4 Theme: Best Year Ever

Kellie & Derek were among judge best Dwts dance on a night when celebrities reminisced on their best year ever. For her it was 2009 when she met and married her husband, a singer and composer. They thought about having a big wedding bash, but decided that was not their real personality. Instead, they traveled to a small Caribbean island, where they were married on a beach, while standing in the water. With tears in her eyes, Derek & Kellie danced beautifully to a song composed for her, and performed live by her husband on stage.

Judge best Dwts dance for weeks 1 & 2 were both by the same couple-Disney channel star Zendaya Coleman & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmerkovskiy. In week 1, each judge acclaimed Zendaya, just 16 years old, for her terrific contemporary Dwts dance performance awarding 8 points each. She topped the leaderboard with a total of 24 points. In week 2, with a different Dwts dance, the ballroom Jive, Zendaya repeated the top class performance with Val Chmerkovskiy. This time, they topped the judges leaderboard with 26 points.

Hail judge best Dwts dance by Melissa Rycroft and pro ballroom dancer partner & choreographer Tony Dovolani-new ballroom champions of Dancing With The Stars. They have won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy over fellow finalist couples Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough, and Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy. These have been previous Dancing With The Stars Winners, while it is first time for both Melissa Rycroft & proTony Dovolani. Each judge gave them perfect scores in their Samba; judge Carrie Ann Inaba thought their dancing was fabulous. They collected 10's for their Freestyle also, Chief Judge Len Goodman describing their ballroom dancing as 'fabulous'.

Week 6

Tied for Judge best Dwts dance was Actress Sabrina Bryan & pro Ballroom dancer, choreographer Louis Van Amstel doing the Rumba. Each judge awarded full 10 points, for a maximum score of 30. This was the first perfect score of season 15. Chief Judge Len Goodman praised the choreography of Louis Van Amstel while Judge Bruno Tonioni described their Rumba dance as, among other things, 'magical'. This dancing couple also performed in their group "Country Dance'.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba on abc Dancing With The Stars was so excited by the performance of the Rumba by celebrity actor Gllles Marini & pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd, she fell off her chair laughing. But could it have been been because of Gilles Marini half-naked and wearing just a towel? Gilles Marini and reality TV presenter Tom Bergeron rushed to her assistance but thankfully she was not hurt.

Each judge on abc Dancing With The Stars agreed that the best dance was the team dance done by 'Call Me Maybe'. This team was made up of celebrity couples Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel, Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough, Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff, Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani.They performed a "football players and cheerleaders" routine that was filled to the brim with snappy moves, gymnastics, lifts and flips. It featured the team dancing, then each couple in a solo and finally the team came back all together. Probably the highest compliment came from Judge Bruno Tonioni, who said, "There was such choreography and flow, I almost couldn't tell the celebrities from the pros." It's going to be a hard routine to top, especially since the judges awarded such high scores. Each couple will be able to add 29.5 points to their score for their individual dance.

World famous choreographer & singer Paula Abdul appeared on abc Dancing With The Stars (Dwts) as a guest judge; which couple would get Judge's best Dwts dance? This is on a night when celebrity ballroom couples would have chosen the ballroom dance for each other. 10 ballroom dancing couples performed a very wide range of dances from Hip Hop to Disco. It lived up to its promise to be quite an entertaining night of fantastic dancing. Judge Paula Abdul, of American Idol fame, was well received by both Dwts live audience and celebrity dancers alike. Shouts of 'I love you, Paula' could be heard all around the ballroom that beautiful night of ballroom dancing.

Well there was a tie for Judge's best dance, the high score being 39.5 points out of a maximum 40, there now being four to judge instead of the normal three judges. First top dancer was celebrity actor Gilles Marini and his pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd, dancing,of all things, Bollywood. abc Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) reality TV show has always attracted controversy from the viewing public, and clearly abc15 promises to be no exception. Firstly, abc gave the impression that no previous champions would be included in the all star cast, so as to give those who never won before another chance to win the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. Lo and behold, five (5) former Dancing With The Stars winners are announced for abc15. They are the first four (4) male celebrities mentioned above, as well as the first female of the celebrities listed above. What sort of a balance is that? The men celebrities selected are all very strong ballroom dancers compared to the female celebrities.

This leads to the second potential controversy for abc15 reality TV show, Dancing With The Stars. This is the choice of celebrity Bristol Palin, a 20 year old single mother of a son named Tripp, as one of the female celebrities on a ballroom dancing all star cast. When she appeared on DWTS season 11 with pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, many fans of abc Dancing With The Stars thought celebrity Bristol Palin was receiving more votes from the judges than she truly deserved. As well, when she performed badly, which was quite often, she seemed to be saved from elimination by the votes of DWTS fans. Clearly, they seemed to be voting the popularity of the Sarah Palin political surname rather than her merits as a ballroom dancer.

The Palin surname was made famous by her mother, former Govenor of Alaska Sarah Palin. She was Republican candidate in 2008 for Vice President of the United States of America, when Barack Obama became President. Despite her below average performances as a ballroom dancer on abc Dancing With The Stars, celebrity Bristol Palin & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas were still able to make it to the finals of Dwts in season 11. At those finals, Bristol Palin placed 3rd behind celebrities Kyle Massey and eventual abc dancing with the stars winner Jennifer Grey. However, many better ballroom dancers were eliminated before her.

There were so many above average dancers to choose from! Who could ever forget the great performances of celebrities like singer Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Sabrina Bryan or Chelsie Kane? They were far better ballroom dancers than Pam Anderson! Incidently, Dwts fans can select the 13th celebrity by voting either Kyle Massey, Carson Kressley or Sabrina Ryan for "Viewer's Choice: All Star". Voting lasts four (4) weeks and ends August 24.

Dancing, according to the dictionary definition is to move rhythmically usually to music, using prescribed or improvised steps and gestures. There is no real evidence as to when dancing started, we just know that it did. Dancing has been used in ceremonies, story telling, a way to show off sexuality and exercise. Dancing can also break the language barriers that surround us, mostly our own. We can feel the energy that dance brings and most all of us are attracted to at least one form of dance.

When you think of dancing for ceremonial rites you may think of the Native Americans. However, many other places and cultures have these ceremonial dances as well. To name just a few we have the Island people(Tongan, Samoan, Hawaiian, Jamaicans, etc), Asians, and Africans. We have seen them done on T.V. and perhaps at a Cultural Fair or in a Parade. We look at them as entertainment, but for those involved in these rituals, they mean much more. It is not just a dance but something they hold as a symbol of who they are and what they stand for. These dances were and are ways to prepare them for marriage, birth of a child, death, expressing prayer, thanksgiving, initiation and war(which is most commonly shown in movies). We watch with wonder and then tend to forget what we are watching is a belief, a commitment and a sacred symbol.

Think of a time you watched someone tell a story with dance. When I think of stories, I reflect on some friends of mine who are Hawaiian. Watching the hula is a most beautiful form of storytelling. There is a story for all aspects of their lives. They however, are only among a small group of people who share their stories through dance. I bet you can find a young child in a store or maybe even yourself in your home, who given some music could tell the story of what you are feeling at that moment. Storytelling through dance is an everyday occurrence, you need only look around you to find it. If you happen to go into a dance studio, you can watch as all ages, sizes, sexes and nationalities of people express stories of what they are hearing and feeling, through their bodies.

Our favorite way, as a people, to show off our sexuality is through dance, and it has been since the beginning of time. We love to dance! Kids and teens go to dances, and adults go to night clubs for just this reason. We may not intentionally think of it this way, but when we are in the dance floor we try to move in ways to impress the opposite sex. There are classes popping up all the time that that sexualize dance such as pole dancing, the lambada, the samba, and many others I am sure I am not aware of. While dancing has been sexualized even more in recent years through shows and movies, it is nothing new. We like to be close to each other, and we love watching the way the body moves.

The word exercise may not bring up visions of dance at first, but when you think about it, dance is a strong component to many forms of exercise. There are dance moves in aerobics, jazzercise(popular in the 80's), and exercise videos of all kinds. We learned square dancing in P.E. when I was a kid and today kids even dance while jumping rope. Doctors will recommend dance to patients when they can't find they are successful with other forms of exercise, and sometimes they will suggest it for those who are depressed. Dance, as well all exercise, releases endorphins that help us feel happier, and more satisfied in our lives. The added benefit of dance is that it is almost always done in groups. I hear people say that they can't dance, well maybe they can't, but I know they can exercise!

With so many forms of dance and so many reasons to do it, your excuses are gone. So put on some music, turn it up loud, and dance. You will feel better, you will break down your own language barrier, and just maybe you can bring your family and friends in on it with you.

Ah, the Fourth of July-the time of year when we celebrate America's independence by dancing with sparklers, throwing barbeques, and going up to people from England and shouting, "Boo-yah!" This is the time of year we also get out our patriotic music, dust off our old CD's or cue up the Ipod to listen to songs about the good ol' US of A. Some of us might satisfy this craving by listening to the National Anthem, probably preferring Whitney Houston's rendition to Roseanne Barr's, but for those who believe "The Star Spangled Banner" is simply not enough, the following is our list of best Fourth of July songs, songs sure to light your fire cracker.

"America the Beautiful" by Ray Charles: Written by Katharine Lee Bates, a professor of English at WellesleyCollege, "America the Beautiful" was originally a poem penned on an 1893 trip from the East Coast to Colorado. The music of Samuel A. Ward, composed in 1882, was eventually fit to the words of Bates and "America the Beautiful" - as we know it - was born. Though this song has been covered by a plethora of artists, Ray Charles's rendition is generally thought to be the most moving, the most memorable, and the one that does the song the most justice.

"God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood: A song that became America's mantra after September 11th, "God Bless the USA" was written by country singer Lee Greenwood and released in 1984. Upon release, it climbed the country charts, topping off at number seven. The song itself is often played as a way to heighten patriotism and offer support and gratitude to those who have fought for our nation.

"Blowin' in the Wind" by Bob Dylan: Though not filled with overt nationalism, "Blowin' in the Wind" subtly reflects on the freedoms America represents. Released by Bob Dylan in 1963, "Blowin' in the Wind" serves as a song of protest, protesting lives lost and questioning war. The genius of the song lies in the fact that it doesn't single out one specific event, instead it serves as an anthem for the ages, one that - with an always present desire for peace - has the potential to transcend generations.

"Independence Day" by Martina McBride: "Independence Day" was released in 1994 as a single that rose to number 12 on the country charts. The song not only serves as a tune about the Fourth of July, but it also serves as a metaphor for escaping an abusive relationship. "Independence Day" was ranked number 50 in the 2003 list of CMT's 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music.

"Our Country" by John Mellencamp: A song that originally made us all want to go purchase a Chevrolet, "Our Country" eventually turned into an anthem for America. The images in Chevrolet's commercials, images of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Twin Towers, worked to perpetuate this patriotism. "Our Country" appears on Mellancamp's 2007 Freedom's Road album, an album that debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 chart. This made Freedom's Road the highest debuting album ever recorded by Mr. Jack and Diane.

Aren't dads just great? They embarrass us by telling our friends how we used to run around the garden in a pair of red wellies and nothing else, or taking over the dance floor at family parties with their cringeworthy 'dad dance'? Priceless! But then again, dads are good as a free taxi service, good at fixing things and always ready to offer sound advice - even if you don't always want to hear it. So perhaps on balance, one day a year isn't too bad to say thanks for putting up with us kids (whatever our age).

Yet, children all over the country are plagued with the same old problem - what on Earth do you buy your dad for Father's Day. Well, to help you out, I've put on my thinking cap on and came up with some excellent gift ideas to suit all budgets. So forget the socks and ties this Father's Day and instead, treat your dad to something really special.

High Budget:
If money is no object then it's easy to come up with something nice for your dad. But instead of just buying him the latest designer outfit, why not put some thought and personality into your gift as well?
If you go for something like diamond studded cufflinks or watch, personalise them with an engraved message. For something memorable, how about an experience gift; you could send your dad hot air ballooning; give him a flying lesson or a VIP ticket to his favourite sporting or musical event. You could even send him off on a mini-break weekend to somewhere he's always wanted to go.

Medium budget:
A bottle of champagne or his favourite wine is usually a welcome gift. Zero budget:
If cash is tight, why not spend some time on your dad instead? Make him a card, take him breakfast in bed along with the morning paper and make sure that Father's Day is completely relaxing for him.

You could even give him a promissory voucher that you will clean the car or cut the lawn or do the dishes for him for two weeks. Or if you have an artistic side, draw him a picture, write a poem or create a story just for him. Four celebrities performing on Dwts finals season 16 are Zendata, Aly Raisman, Kellie Pickler, and the lone male Jacoby Jones. All have reached Dwts finals before, and are former Dancing With The stars winners, except Val. Couples must perform three dances on Monday night to be judged for the Mirror Ball Trophy.

They are (1) A dance they have already performed, (2) Cha Cha Relay-where each of the four couples will dance one part of the same song, and (3) Supersized Freestyle-where couples can add more dancers, special effects, and so on. On the following night, after the 4th place couple is eliminated, each couple will do dance number (4) Instant Dance, using a style with which they are already familiar.

On this week’s show each couple will perform two routines, as they compete for the honor of reaching Dwts finals. One of the dances will be a dance that twitter users voted on. The dance assignments for the week are: Zendaya & Val – Hip Hop, Jacoby & Karina – Lindy Hop, Ingo & Kym – Charleston, Kellie & Derek – Flamenco, Aly and Mark – Afro Jazz. The second dance will be a ballroom or Latin style dance they have yet to perform this season. For the second dance – Zendaya and Val – , Jacoby and Karina – , Ingo and Kym – Samba, Kellie and Derek – Argentine Tango, Aly and Mark – Rumba. Dwts finals with former dancing with the stars winners Kelly Monaco (Season 1 in 2005) & Shawn Johnson (2009), are here again. These celebrity gals have never before been eliminated on Dwts. Obviously one of them will have to lose that reputation after these Dwts finals. History is being made in Season 15 of abc Dancing With The Stars.

For the 1st time, three celebrity ladies will contest the finals. Their pro ballroom dancers partnering them are first-timers Val Chmerkovskiy (brother of Maksim), 3-time former Dancing With The Star winner Derek Hough, and first-time Tony Dovolani respectively.

Dwts Finals Season 14

Each celebrity in abc Dancing With The Stars finals, Singer Katherine Jenkins or NFL star Donald Driver or Actor William Levy, has a great chance of winning the Mirror Ball trophy. This is a symbol of excellence and supremacy in ballroom dancing. Welsh opera Singer Katherine Jenkins has been very consistent in her generally superb performances throughout season 14, topping the leaderboard on most occasions. She regularly scored 29 points out of a maximum 30, only because Chief Judge Len Goodman has not yet found reason to award her his full quota of 10 points. Some critics would argue that it is easier for a female celebrity ballroom dancer to look good on the dance floor, as traditionally in ballroom dancing, the male celebrity dancer takes the lead and the lady follows.

On the other hand, the male celebrity has to show that he can lead the female dancer, who happens to be the professional ballroom dancer. Obviously that is the more difficult of the two roles, for the two male celebrity dancers. NFL star Donald Driver has been growing by leaps and bounds, and just like Singer Katherine Jenkins, has been longing to get a '10' from Len. However, he has always been a favorite of the lone female Judge Carrie Ann Inaba. The other male celebrity ballroom dancer, Actor William Levy, has also improved by leaps and bounds, and has impressed the 3rd & final Judge Bruno Tonioni with his natural 'bum' shaking. That's because Actor William Levy was born in Cuba, and is accustomed to Latin beats & rhythms.

The first night of the abc Dancing With The Stars finals, each celebrity must do two dances, one of which is to be freestyle. It started off with the Cha Cha by celebrity Actor William Levy & pro ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke, who has been a winner of abc Dancing With The Stars Mirror Ball trophy on two previous occasions. She has a strong reputation as a task master, so Actor William Levy was in good hands. He was expected to do well in the Cha Cha because of his Latin background and flair, and did not disappoint.

Ladies in the live audience screamed as he showed in his open chested shirt. Judge Len Goodman said it was as good as ever, the best he had seen in 14 years of judging. Judge Bruno Tonioni said he was intoxicated by the Cuban cocktail, and was green with envy by the marvellous hip action. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba thought the performance was magical, filled with sophistication. Actor William Levy certainly has come a long way. Needless to say, each judge awarded maximum points, totalling 30. This represented a perfect execution of the Cha Cha.

Second up was celebrity singer Katherine Jenkins & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, another two time winner of Dancing With The Stars Mirror Ball trophy like fellow pro ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke. So the competition is expected to be hot, very hot! They were asked to dance the Paso Doble. Judge Len Goodman loved the lush artistry, the shape, brilliant extensions and technique. For the very first time on season 14 of abc Dancing With The Stars, he awarded this couple a '10'. They jumped up and down filled with joy, but there was more 10's to come. Judge Bruno Tonioni liked the spicy tit bits-the dance was very satisfying, and fabulous. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba could only muster the word 'brilliant', over and over. Maximum 30 points.

NFL celebrity star Donald Driver & pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd came up with the Argentine Tango. Judge Len Goodman found it had much more content than the last time around, and the lifts were great, as usual. However it was just a little bit too careful. While Judge Bruno Tonioni felt the dance was very effective with dynamic movement, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba was impressed by its crispness. She loved it before, and loves it once more. Judges awarded a total of 29 points, one point behind the other two competitors. The competition in this Season 14 of abc Dancing With The Stars has been very close. Only two more dances remained plus the viewers votes to be included, in order to determine the winner of the Mirror Ball Trophy, symbol of ballroom dancing supremacy. Stevie Wonder, R&B icon, has made a tremendous appearance on Dwts. Ballroom dancers performed to many of his hit tunes which were featured all through the night. Stevie Wonder did not sing all the time, though, as some of his tunes were played by the Dwts band at intervals. Classical singers in week 4 of Dwts season 16 were three-time Grammy award winner Brad Paisley, Andrea Bocelli and Jennifer Lopez. Brad Paisley performed his hit song 'Southern Comfort Zone'. Andrea Bocelli has been blind from the age of 12 from a combination of glaucoma & an injury from soccer. From his album, classical singer Andrea Paisley sang a delightful duet entitled 'Quizas, Quizas, Quizas' with Jennifer Lopez. The theme for ballroom dancing couples was 'The Year of Their Life'. On the night, there was also the 1st AT&T spotlight Performance of season 16 by 17 year old Brilynn Rakes, who has overcome a neurological birth defect to make dance her chosen field. Brilynn has been legally blind, only being able to see 5 feet away. This did not prevent her from doing a great AT & T dance performance with Derek Hough

The hit song Gangnam style was the subject of a group dance by contestants on Dwts. The other half of the contestants danced to Call Me Maybe .

Classical Singers Placido Domingo & Katherine Jenkins combined to perform a duet entitled 'Come What May' on a night when Dancing With The Stars results for week 2 were being announced. Just last season, Katherine Jenkins had appeared as a celebrity dancer on Dancing With The Stars, with pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas as her partner. She had danced very well in reaching the finals of Dancing With The Stars, where she placed a very creditable second.

Also making an appearance was British teenage sensation, singer Cher Lloyd, singing from her new album, 'Sticks & Stones'. Video: Singer Cher Lloyd on Dancing With The Stars This was a night when the two ballroom dancing couples in jeopardy were celebrities actor Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson, and racing car driver Helio Castroneves & Chelsie Hightower. Finally it was announced that Joey Fatone & Kym Johnson received the lowest combined Judges and abc Dancing With The Stars viewers votes, and therefore had their last dance:

Singer DeGraw, who was eliminated as a competitor on abc Dancing With The Stars results, a couple weeks ago, was welcomed back as a singer, doing what he does best once more-singing. Meantime, his former professional partner Karina Smirnoff performed a feature ballroom dance with fellow pro dancer Louis Van Amstel. Possible couples for future pros on abc Dancing With The Stars, were then presented for judging by their pro trainers Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani, and Louis Van Amstel. They danced Jive at the same time before the judges. Tony Dovolani also had made an appearance as a competitor on abc Dancing With The Stars results this season 14, partnering former women tennis champion Martina Navratilova. However, they were the first couple to be axed from the abc reality TV show. After much deliberation by the judges, pressed on urgently by abc presenter Tom Bergnon because of time constraints, the couple trained by Cheryl Burke was announced winner.

All the competing couples were informed this week, that in case after tallying judges & viewer votes they ended up in the bottom 2, they will have to dance a Rumba to decide which couple will be eliminated. Consequently, all the couples put in extra time & effort preparing the Rumba. First high scoring couples on the judges leaderboard, classical singer Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas, William Levy & Cheryl Burke, Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd, Maria Menounos & Derek Hough were all safe. None was in jeopardy, so no surprises there. Actress Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chermkovskiy were also safe, so that left Actor Jaleel White & Kym Johnson and Disney Channel star Roshan Fegan & Chelsie Hightower in the bottom 2 positions, for the dance off.

The 2 couples danced the Rumba at the same time, in their designated space, in front of the judges. Each judge then indicated which couple they wanted to go forward. For Chief Judge Len Goodman & Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, it was Roshan Fegan & Chelsie Hightower-already 2 best out of 3. However Judge Bruno Tonioni also confimed them as his selection. Sadly, Actor Jaleel White & Kym Johnson were the ones to be axed from abc Dancing With The Stars, despite showing great promise at times.

Classical singer Katherine Jenkins suffered a back injury in her final Salsa figure, on her final ballroom dance on semi finals of abc reality TV show, Dancing With The Stars. She was visibly shaken, and her partner, pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, had to shout to her 'I got you'. Everyone, including the live audience, tried to calm her down, but she did say she was alright. As a precaution though, she did have a medical check up, and hopes to continue dancing with the stars, if selected. In spite of the little misstep, Katherine Jenkins & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas were still able to get 9 points from each judge,for their fantastic Salsa, totalling 27 out of maximum 30 points.

Classical singer Katherine Jenkins & Ballroom Dancer Mark Ballas in the earlier round danced the Quickstep, which was so graceful and beautiful. Chief Judge Len Goodman's comment was that the singer can really dance, even though there was a little mistake here and there, but overall it was a fabulous performance. He didn't award it full 10 points, though, giving only a 9. Judge Bruno Tonioni commented that the Quickstep was truly outstanding, a picture perfect representation of the roaring 20's, and gave it maximum 10 points. For Judge Carrie Ann Inaba, it was their best dance ever, truly incredible and deserving
of a 10. They totalled 29 out of 30 points, for a grand total of 56 for their two ballroom dances of the night. Nevertheless, they were still one of two couples in danger of dancing with the stars elimination when the public viewer votes were included.

Celebrity Actress Maria Menounos & professional dance partner Derek Hough exploded in their Paso Doble to get the first maximum points by any dancing couple on abc Dancing With The Stars, in Classical singers week, this season 14. It must have been a really great achievement, to have gotten a score of 10 out of the usually stingy Chief Judge, Len Goodman, as well as from other Judges Bruno Tonioni & Carrie Ann Inaba. However, she prides herself in being Greek, and tough. She had shed tears during the week while training hard for her Paso Doble. This night, she was apprropriately dressed in a long flaming red dress, with make believe fangs.

She is the daughter of Greek immigrants to America, and would often accompany them on their janitorial tour of duty as a little girl growing up. She just would not give up on ballroom dancing with Derek Hough. Derek is a 3-time winner of abc Dancing With The Stars, so she certainly did not want to let him down. Judge Len Goodman found their fantastic Paso Doble, sharp, crisp, attentive, while Judge Carrie Ann Inaba found it to be on fire. Judge Bruno Tonioni was spellbound, and named Maria Menounos Queen of the night. They awarded maximum 10 points each, leading to maximum 30 points altogether. First up in the abc ballroom dancing competition, not surprisingly, was Classical singer Katherine Jenkins & her pro dance partner Mark Ballas dancing the Rumba. Only one year ago, she had appeared on abc Dancing With The Stars as a classical singer, but now as a ballroom dancing competitor. Katherine recalls her facination with joining classical singers from the tender age of 13 or 14. Mark Ballas is a 2-time winner of abc Dancing With The Stars, so competition with Derek Hough & Katherine Jenkins, ongoing at the best of times, is expected to be tough. This ballroom dancing couple has been doing very well on abc Dancing With The Stars, consistently, since the start of Season 14. They have been top of the leaderboard every week so far, except one. abc reality TV show Dancing With The Stars elimination took place once again in week designated Motown Special. It was a week in which abc paid tribute in song and ballroom dance to the fantastic music that came out of the Motown record label. And special it was! Motown founding President Berry Gordon was on hand, as well as mega singing stars, celebrity singers Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and Martha Reece. What was fantastic was that they did sang several songs each, to which the ballroom dancing competitors had to dance to.

Very fittingly, the first celebrity ballroom dance up was by a Motown icon, Empress of Soul Gladys Knight. She had started her singing career as the lead singer of The Pips, later to be called Gladys Knight & The Pips, when Gladys Knight showed her world class. Her professional dance partner was Tristan MacManus, and they danced the Rhumba while The Temptations sang live, the song 'My Girl'. For true music lovers, and dance lovers, this was an absolute treat, the result of the support of recording artistes by the Motown label since 1969-decades of dedication to the world of music. Besides the three artistes already mentioned who sang live, artistes like the phenomenal Michael Jackson passed through the Motown record label.

Gladys Knight put her best foot forward, literally, in the Rumba. Even her brother, the founding Pip, had come out to support her in her training sessions, and show her a few of the Pips dance moves. He also was there on Motown Knight to lend family support. Chief Judge Len Goodman opined that Gladys was not the best dancer, but was most charismatic and appealing, dancing 'easy like Sunday morning'. Judge Bruno Tonioni mentioned that her superb star quality, though not sexy, could not be denied. Lone female Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Gladys Knight that there were lots of memorable moments from Motown, and that Motown belonged to her. Smokey Robinson was his usual cool, smooth, sexy self putting down tunes like 'One Night Stand', 'Baby Baby', 'Tears of a Clown', for the competitors to present their various routines. In between came singing by Monica Reece, then The Temptations singing songs like 'The Way You Do'. What a fabulous night of entertainment from abc! At the end all the celebrities, and partners, had to compete at the same time, to the same tune, doing the Cha Cha. This was the Motown Dance Marathon where each couple was also given a designated area to dance.

From time to time, the Judges would point out by flagging, which couple should leave the dance floor. Points will be awarded & last man standing would be the winner, getting the most points (10). These points will then be added to those for their individual dance to determine position on the leaderboard. Bottom two couples on the leaderboard would then have a dance off, where judges only will decide which contestant is going home. This will take place the next day on abc Dancing With The Stars results show.

It was announced that the two couples with the lowest judges scores, will now have a dance off to determine who will be eliminated this week. Audience votes will not be taken into consideration this time, only Judges will decide on the spot.

Two couples in jeopardy of Dwts elimination were surprise Zendaya Coleman & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and Hollywood actor Ingo Rademacher with pro Kym Johnson. 16 year old Zendaya had been getting high marks from the judges all through the season, but faltered in the Quickstep, where she got scores of 8 for the first time in season 16. Her chosen accompanying music was quite fast, and she lost her frame at times, during the performance. However, for her second dance, Zendaya was chosen Hip Hop by Dwts fans on Twitter. Ingo Rademacher & his ballroom dancing partner Kym Johnson thought he did extremely well to reach semi finals before Dwts elimination, considering Indo had no previous ballroom dancing experience. Dwts Elimination-Season 16

Dwts elimination of Bachelor Sean Lowe in week 8 now means he can concentrate on his upcoming marriage. His soon to be wife Catherine Giudici, is also an avid dancer, and would like to have a choreographed ballroom dance for their wedding. To this end, she has invited pro ballroom dancer, and past Dwts winner, Peta Murgatroyd. Peta says she would be delighted to do their first wedding dance choreography. Judge Bruno Tonioni has said of Sean Lowe's ballroom dancing '...for a dance virgin, you do have a pronounced pelvic thrust...'. Sean tried a bit of magic, but it turned out to be tragic (his dancing feet). So that's the story of Sean Lowe's dancing.

From Latin night, three couples were in jeopardy of dancing with the stars elimination. They were surprise Jacoby Jones & Katrina Smirnoff, Ingo & Kym Johnson, and Andy Dick & Sharna Burgess. Jacoby Jones has been very popular on Dwts, and has been the only male to give some competition to leading ladies Aly Raisman, Kellie Pickler and Zendaya Coleman. His performances have all been very lively, energetic, skilful, and well choreographed by his illustrious pro partner Karina, a former Dancing With The Stars winner.

Ingo had improved by leaps and bounds on the show, and was very weary of dancing with the stars elimination. In the end, justice was served on comedian Andy Dick, who was consistently at the bottom of the leaderboard from week to week. An emotional Andy Dick & Sharna Burgess performed their last Rumba dance on Dwts.

In week 6 of Dancing With The Stars Elimination saw two couples in jeopardy. They were boxer Victor Ortiz & pro ballroom dancer Lindsey Arnold, and Sean Lowe with pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd. Peta is a former dancing with the stars winner. Neither gentlemen have shown any real natural flair for ballroom dancing. This was a night when Singer Stevie Wonder performed some of his great hits for the Dwts ballroom dancing competition. Stevie Wonder says he is up to returning to the show as a ballroom dancer next time! When the final announcement was made, Victor Ortiz had to return to boxing as he & Peta Murgatroyd suffered a defeat, and had Dancing With The Stars elimination.

It was Dancing With The Stars elimination time again in week 5, and three celebrity couples were announced at the bottom of the leaderboard. On Prom night, couples in jeopardy were Andy & Sharna, Wyonna Judd & Tony Dovolani, Lisa & Gleb. Lisa & Gleb were at the bottom of the leadership board the last week. Wyonna & Tony, Hughley & Cheryl, have both been getting very low marks. Singer Wyonna Judd & Tony Dovolanidid not survive to go on to week 4.

Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill & pro ballroom dancer Tristan Mac Manus were the surprise couple eliminated from abc Dancing With The Stars. They were not at the bottom of the judges leaderboard, and it was not for the lack of ballroom dancing skills. It was simply due to health reasons. It was revealed that figure skater Dorothy Hamill is carrying a spine injury-irreparable nerve damage, and her doctors have ordered her to refrain from dancing with the stars.
The audience, which included her teary-eyed husband & daughter, gave Dorothy Hamill a standing ovation. She is a 56-year-old breast cancer survivor. This must have been a reprieve for comedian D.L. Hughley who had been getting some really low scores, for his dances with 2-time former Dwts champion, Cheryl Burke.

Double Dancing With The Stars elimination week saw Nfl star Emmitt Smith & ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke being eliminated, together with Anton Ohno & pro ballroom dancer Karina Smirnoff. The last celebrities representing men have been wiped out, leading to an all women final for the first time in Dwts history. These couples were previous dancing with the stars winners of the Mirror Ball trophy, and Cheryl Burke also won on a second occasion. Emmitt & Cheryl youtube video 'Espionage' Lindy Hop" have been a very popular ballroom dancing couple on Dwts. Into the finals will be Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani, Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough, and Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy.

abc15 Dancing With The Stars Elimination-all star Week 6:

Actress Sabrina Bryan followed the history of her previous appearance on Dancing With The Stars, elimination in week 6! This time, it was in spite of a perfect score of 30 points from the judges dancing ballroom Rumba, and despite a new ballroom dance partner, Louis Van Amstel having replaced Mark Ballas. She was also judged for her group 'Country dance'.

There was no dancing with the stars elimination in week 5 of the all star show which took place over two nights instead of the usual one. This was because of the Presidential debate between incumbent President Barack Obama & challenger Governor Mitt Romney, broadcast live over all the TV networks. However, the lowest combined score for team & individual dance was obtained by General Hospital Actress Kelly Monaco & pro ballroom dancer Val Chmerkovskiy dancing Samba.

At last celebrity Bristol Palin has experienced another abc Dancing With The Stars Elimination. It was just too much for her, but she tried. In fact, many better dancers were axed from the show while she remained. In all fairness to Bristol Palin, she should not have been selected for an all star dancing with the stars show in the first place.

So for a second consecutive week a former Dancing with The stars winner was at the very bottom of the scoreboard, in the person of Helio Castroneves, this time. Last week it was former dancing with the stars winner Drew Lachey & pro ballroom dancer Anna Trebunskaya. But the former champions survived. abc Dancing With The Stars results is always a traumatic experience for some celebrities, especially if there was a particularly sad theme that night. In the first instance, they have to withstand the drama of awaiting the announcement on stage, wrapped in the arms of their professional ballroom dance partner. This partner could have just done a great or a lousy job-they would have contributed either way, not always to the common good. Three possibilities are: 'you're safe, you're in jeopardy, or you're eliminated. All this time an entertainment show, Dancing With The Stars is going on, complete with guest music band , entertainers, and professional ballroom dance. And both celebrity & pro have to wait in suspense.

In jeopardy were 3 couples: Former Alaskan Govenor Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, Actress Pamela Anderson & pro partner Tristan Mac Manus, and Season 3 Dancing With The Stars winner Drew Lachey & pro partner Anna Trebunskaya. Eliminated were the couple with the lowest Judges score of the night before, Pamela Anderson & Tristan MacManus. So it came as no surprise, their 1st round elimination. Some people have argued that Pam Anderson should not have been selected for the abc15 all-star show in the first place. She never showed any flair or appetite for ballroom dancing in her previous appearance on abc Dancing With The Stars. As well, there were many, many more celebrities who were much, much more deserving than Pam Anderson.

Pam Anderson admitted to host Tom Bergeron that she tried to abstain from sex for a month before her first dance, but now regrets breaking her abstinence from sex. That may have been the cause of her failure to perform, ironically. However, another view is that her boobs were so heavy, it prevented her from moving freely. Still another theory is that since the majority of Pamela Anderson's fans are men in jail (who are posting up her pictures), they could not call out in time to vote for her. How sad!

Season14:

Celebration of Rock week, the results, was no exception. Classical Opera singer, celebrity Katherine Jenkins & pro dance partner Mark Ballas could not hear well whether or not they were eliminated. They therefore remained subdued, until someone shouted to them that they were safe. It was then they jumped up high, hugging and congratulating each other. Then we knew how much staying in competition meant to them. They had worked very hard at preparing the Paso Doble ballroom dance, and would have been very disappointed in being axed in the abc Dancing With The Stars results, before lesser performing celebrities.

Similarly, celebrity Sherri Shepherd, co-host of The View was not in the lower marks on the Judges leaderboard. But that was no reason to be complacent about being axed in abc Dancing With The Stars results , together with pro partner Val Chermkovskiy. He is only in his second season of ballroom dance, a virtual newbie to the national followers of Dwts. One needs to have a very strong fan base to get significant public votes to stay in the competition. One has to realise that viewers' votes carry a lot of weight on Dwts.

It was the week when celebrities had to recall the most memorable year of their life. Unfortunately, celebrity Sherri Shepherd would never forget that night as the night she was eliminated in abc Dancing With The Stars. She cried and cried relentlessly, from the time her name was announced as one of the possible celebrities who may be sent home. Her partner Val just could not calm her down. When her name was finally announced as the loser, she cried uncontrollably. However, someone must go home for the Dwts show to go on, to crown an eventual winner. In order to add some balance, and mininize the chances of 'better' celebrity dancers being sent home after the votes of the viewing audience have been tallied in, the Judges have decided to have a dance off for the last two couples. In the first such occasion, Actor Jaleel White and country Singer Gavin De Graw were the celebrities at the bottom positions, and had to prepare to dance the Cha Cha to the same music, at the same time. Their respective partners were ballroom dance pros Kym Johnson and Karina Smirnoff, both past abc Dancing With The Stars results winners. That turned out to be easier for Jaleel White, as he was by far the more natural dancer. Gavin De Graw & Karina Smirnoff were the ballroom dance couple eliminated from Dwts.

In previous weeks, celebrities eliminated from abc Dancing With The Stars results were Actor/Singer Jack Wagner & former women tennis champion Martina Navratilova. Their pro ballroom dance partners were Anna Trebunskaya & Tony Dovolani.

Last Season:

abc Dancing With The Stars elimination-Maria Menounos took place on semi-final results night even though she & her pro ballroom dancer Derek Hough had their second perfect score from Judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba & Bruno Tonioni -10 points each. Even with an injured foot, Maria Menounos danced so well, the choreography by Derek Hough, abc judges had no choice but to award them full 30 points for their magnificently beautiful Tango in round 1 of the Ballroom dancing. Each ballroom dancing couple had to perform two dances in these semi-final rounds.

Their Tango was described by the judges as fabulous, enticing, incredible, and so on, with ridiculous lines. In other words, just too much for words to describe, so you will have to see for yourself through the videos on this page. It was another magnificent performance, with beautiful foootwork and timing, earning them two 10's in a total of 29 points. The grand total of 59 points from judges was the highest of all contestants, and they must have felt somewhat insured against elimination from dancing with the stars reality TV show.

Maria Menounos parents who were immigrants from a small town in Greece where there was no running water. They came to the USA and settled in Massaschusetts, where Maria was born. They worked hard as janitors cleaning night clubs for a living, and their children followed them around since they were too poor to afford a helper. So from young, Maria Menounos helped out with the hard work. Strong Greek traditions and a large family with 40 cousins the support in coping with growing up in a tough environment. Santa was not coming down from a chimney any time soon.

Her Dad always said 'if you work hard, you will always have a job', and Maria Menounos always had a job after graduating from Boston's Emerson College. She got a double major in Broadcast Journalism & Film., which landed her a job in International Correspondence with Channel One News, and the rest is history. She travelled extensively reporting on World Affairs. Along the way, though, she still had time to do many things, like becoming Miss Massachusetts Teen USA, and starring in movies. Her book is entitled "The EveryGirl's Guide To Life".

Derek Hough has been continuously praised by his ballroom dancer Maria about his brilliant choreography and dancing, which have been responsible for keeping her so long on abc reality TV show, dancing with the stars. Of course, Derek has been abc Dancing With The Stars winner on 3 previous occasions with other ballroom dancers, without elimination. His standard of ballroom dancing is always very high, and in the past has been praised by judges as being genius. Nevertheless, he prepared Maria Menounos for the possibility of dancing with the stars elimination. Anything could happen when viewers votes are tallied in-even great dancers have been eliminated before, simply because they could not muster enough public votes.

Last week, pro ballroom dancer Derek Hough & Tv host Maria Menounos performed the Viennese Waltz, and in the first dancing trio in competition on abc dancing With The Stars reality TV show. For the trio dance off, they chose Henry (from abc Dancing With The Stars troupe), as they believed him to be a strong dancer for the Samba, which they did in Bollywood style. This was certainly unheard of before on abc Dancing with The Stars reality TV. Judges Bruno Tonioni & Carrie Ann Inaba thought their dance was incredibly creative, especially as they were able to keep Maria Menounos at the centre of the dance. Chief Judge Len Goodman, though, was very critical of the dance performance saying it had no connection with Samba; he was not there to judge Bollywood, unfortunately. David Arquette & Kym Johnson Paso Doble Video On abc Dancing With The Stars Winners Wk 13

Actor David Arquette expressed to his ballroom dance Teacher/Choreographer Kym Johnson, last year's abc dancing with the stars winner of the mirror ball trophy, his dismay that Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas were eliminated from DWTS in spite of them performing one of the best dances of the night. Pretty scary, so they needed to prepare thoroughly to entertain in the ballroom Paso Doble dance to the movie score 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark'. They received a long ovation. On the contrary, Chief Judge Len Goodman was not impressed with the effort as he never saw a lot of things that should be done in Paso Doble, in spite of the good entry and good attitude; but Judge Carrie Ann Inaba loved every minute of it! Judge Bruno Tonioni chose to advise that there should be tight muscles in fight parts, and that David Arquette should watch turns as well as unsteadiness. 23 points out of a maximum 30

Court Prosecutor/Reality TV presenter Nancy Grace and her partner, Tristan MacManus, making his first appearances on abc dancing with the stars live entertainment show, performed the ballroom Paso Doble to the movie score Flash Gordon. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba wanted more connection with the audience while Chief Judge Len Goodman felt there was a lack of precision,lack of expression, and lack of excitement though competent. Judge Bruno Tonioni said Nancy Grace should not hide anything. She showed strong blood, has loosed some weight through dancing, but her ballroom dancing has got to be truthful. 21 points
Transvestite/activist Chaz Bono, only child of Cher & Sonny Bono, chose 'Rocky' as the movie score to dance the Paso Doble with Professional partner/Teacher Lacy Schwimmer. This couple had thought they were to be eliminated after regularly being at the bottom of the judges leaderboard week after week, only to be saved at the death by the public votes.

Some people are of the view that the audience vote is turning abc dancing with the stars too much into a celebrity popularity contest, and that the judges scores should have a higher weighting in determining abc dancing with the stars winners-strictly ballroom. Chaz Bono's mom Cher made entertainment news by being in the live audience and shedding tears at her son's performance. Judges agreed that Chaz Bono was the underdog, and like Rocky, is growing no matter the many knocks, as he did his best dance to date. For the first time on DWTS, Chaz Bono did not find himself at the bottom of the judges leaderboard on abc news with 21 points.

Carson Kressley & Teacher/Choreographer Anna Trebunskaya did ballroom dance steps of the Viennese Waltz to 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' movie score on abc dancing with the stars winners. According to the judges, there was no quality of movement or technique, and Carson Kressley lost his step during the sword fight. They awarded their lowest score of the night-20 points and were in danger of elimination! However, singer Chynna Phillips, dancing Argentine Tango with partner/Teacher Tony Dovolani to 'Star Wars', lost her choreography completely forgetting her ballroom dance steps. In fact she seemed to have lost her ballroom dance shoes in the 'smoke' at her feet, panicked, and made lots more mistakes. She had danced very well all the weeks before, but unfortunately the audience votes were insufficient to save her from elimination.

Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas, a past dancing with the stars winner, were eliminated from abc Dancing With The Stars after their lovely Samba . It was a shocker to many in the audience who booed the announcement of the result. Judge Len Goodman felt it was madness as he had expected both couples in jeopardy of elimination (the other couple was Hope Solo & Maksim Chermokovskiy) to be challenging for the finals. Nancy Grace & Tristan MacManus Waltz On abc Dancing With The Stars Winners Wk 3

Court Prosecutor/TV presenter Nancy Grace & Professional partner Tristan MacManus waltzed to the tune of Moon River on DWTS-strictly ballroom. This commemorated Nancy's most memorable year 2007 when she was carrying twins while her lungs became filled with fluid. She thought the children would die, but they where all able to pull through, all in good health.
Judge Len Goodman felt their ballroom dance showed the emotion of the dance, but Nancy needed to stretch more, and develop more posture. Bruno Tonioni indicated the need to link all the hand movements into one smooth flow, while Carrie Ann Inaba felt that the dance did bring out a love & tenderness for her twins. 21 points

Dancing the ballroom Rumba was Chaz Bono in tribute to his Dad Sonny & his music, with Professional partner/Teacher Lacy Schwimmer. The tune chosen 'Laugh At Me' celebrated Chaz being thrown around a lot as a kid by his famous parents Sonny & Cher .
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba found Chaz Bono to be courageous, but seemed distracted and not focussed on strictly ballroom. It was not his best performance. In direct contrast, Len Goodman did think it was his best dance as ballroom dancing doesn't come easy! Bruno Tonioni pointed out that Rumba was different because it needed continuous motion, with feet like skidding on sand. Chaz Bono & Lacy Schwimmer on abc dancing with the stars were awarded 18 points, their highest so far, but they were still at bottom of the leaderboard for the second consecutive week. In fact, this couple felt that they would not make it to the next round of DWTS.

Celebrity TV hostess Sherri Shepherd made an exciting entry on to the popular reality TV show, Dwts-Dancing With The Stars. She was all too happy to get Val Chermkovskiy, younger brother of Maksim, as her ballroom dance partner, Teacher and Choreographer. Their first assignment was the Foxtrot, which Sheri executed with joy, good timing and lightness on her feet. Transitions were good, but she was advised to seek more shape in the ballroom dance. She struggled with the Rhumba.

Week 3 was designated 'Rock Week' on Dwts, and celebrity Sherri Shepherd kicked off the competition with the Rhumba dance, dedicated to her young son who was born at 25 weeks, prematurely. At one point, doctors thought he would not ever have made it through birth alive, or if he did pass through birth, he may have had some sort of brain damage. With tears in her eyes, Sheri informed that neither happened, and her son Jeffrey, though petit, has never shown any sign of abnormality. She would always be there for him, no matter what!

Like the other competitors, celebrity Sherri Shepherd chose to be decked off like true Rockers, and wore an all black, leather pants outfit for dancing the Rhumba to the tune 'Quiet Noise'. Her partner Val Chermkovskiy wore matching outfit. Chief Judge for a Len Goodman opined that the dance suited her bubbling personality, while Judge Bruno Tonioni liked it when Sheri dances 'nasty'. Her great attitude made him feel it was a lap dance. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba felt the dance was good, but exuberance needed to be converted into more intensity and more passion. She has had to be travelling to and from New York for filming of her show, 'The View'. That has been tough, but she has been taking it in stride, and would not complain about it. Video: Dancing Jive

At the results show, it was interesting that the celebrities with the 3 lowest scores were all safe. Immediately the audience knew that they would be in for a surprise celebrity being sent home. As a matter of fact, Sherri Shepherd was crying all the time, as though she knew the result before everybody else. when the announcement was made, it was her that had to leave Dwts. She got enough votes from the Judges, but not enough from viewers. More tears flowed.

Celebrity Actress Melissa Gilbert, former child star on 'Little House on the Prairie', fell and hit her head while dancing Paso Doble on abc Dancing With The Stars in Week 4. She sustained a mild concussion and whiplash, and had to be taken from the reality TV show, to hospital. Her professional ballroom dance partner is Maksim Chermkovskiy, but it was fellow celebrity contestant, musician Gavin De Graw, she had to thank via tweet, for carrying her down the stairs. Nevertheless, she also tweeted about her adoration for Maks Chermokovskiy in Rock and Roll week.

As a result, celebrity Melissa Gilbert's choreographer and dance trainer Maksim Chmerkovskiy had to stand alone at the abc Dancing with The Stars results announcement platform ceremony. The abc presenter, Tom Bergernon, was then forced to announce Melissa Gilbert's mishap. It was then that her dance video was reviewed to see where and when in the ballroom dance performance the fall occurred, since the celebrity had kept it all quiet, without announcing anything. The previous week, Melissa Gilbert & Maksim Chermkovskiy had danced the Jive, in personal celebration of Melissa 's recovery from a broken back. There were a lot of tears flowing that week from many, if not all of the celebrity performers, as they recalled the memory of an accomplishment or tragedy in their personal lives. As Maksim found out, Melissa Gilbert has a propensity to cry even at the best of times. She would counter that she shed tears of joy, as well. Now comes another injury to put in jeopardy, her ability to perform on abc Dancing With The Stars reality TV show.

Melissa's week training for the Paso Doble encouraged passion and power, with Maks trying to get Melissa to dance it with passion and power, as if trying to take out her anger on Maks. He told her to remember she was supposed to 'kill' him at the end of the dance. Nevermind, he jokingly blamed her for stepping on his 'jewels' during training. She apologised but promised to show her 'bad girl side. Chief Judge Len Goodman liked her performance, her confidence in executing the dance, but slower would have been greater. Judge Bruno Tonioni pointed out that the end of the dance was messed up, while Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said the dance was stunning. Nevertheless, Melissa Gilbert must consider herself equal to Maksim Chermkovskiy in the hold. Judges awarded a total of 22 points out of a possible total of 30.

Judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioni & Carrie Ann Inaba all thought the Foxtrot was their best dance ever, despite having a few incidences. 24 points were awarded in total for this ballroom dance. For the ballroom dance trio, celebrity Actress Melissa Gilbert & pro ballroom partner Maksim Chermkovskiy chose Maksim's brother Val as the third partner for dancing the Samba. Val had in fact appeared earlier on abc Dancing With The Stars, partnered by Sheri Shepherd of Tv show, 'The View', but they have been eliminated already. Again the Judges were very impressed that celebrity icon Melissa Gilbert had improved further on her ballroom danclng by 'miles'. Apparently it takes 2 Chermkovskiy brothers to get the best out of Melissa Gilbert. Sadly, it came too late, and she and her pro partner were axed from abc reality TV show, popular Dancing With The Stars.

Five (5) points were awarded to the Dancing With The Stars winners of the Cha Cha relay on finals night. For this event, ballroom dancers had to dance to the same song in different segments, one after the other. The four couples would get scores of 5, 4, 3and 2, based respectively on descending order of their placings, and these scores would be added to the scores from their other dances. Zendaya Coleman & Val Chmerkovskiy were Dancing With The Stars winners of the Cha Cha relay category, followed by Kellie Pickler & Derek Hough, Aly Raisman & Mark Ballas, Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff.

Latin Night: There were quite a few unexpected abc Dancing With The Stars Winners as there had to be dance-offs within the show. Firstly, you see, a new phenomenon started where the celebrity with the highest judges score would be granted IMMUNITY from elimination. However it was a TIE for top honors by Aly Raisman & and Kellie Pickler. To determine the abc Dancing With The Stars Winner, adding of all their previous scores was done, and Kellie Pickler had the higher score, and so was awarded the immunity.

Prom Night: Dwts fans voted, via Twitter, for Zendaya & Jacoby as Queen & King of the Prom respectively. What was their reward? An extra two points on their dance scores. Nevertheless, celebrities seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed their Prom night.

In the second week of competition, joint abc dancing with the stars winners at the top of judges' leaderboard were country music singer Kellie Pickler & Disney Channel star Zendaya. They both were awarded 26 points, with praise, by the judges for their Jazz & Jive dances. Their pro ballroom dance partners were Val Chmerkovskiy & 3-time Dwts champion Derek Hough.

Dancing With The Stars Winners-Season 15 all-star show are reality TV star Melissa Rycroft & professional ballroom dancer Tony Dovolani . The two veterans had never won Dancing With The Stars before unlike the other two finalist couples Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy, Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough. Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani did some flawless dances, in the presence of husband Tye Strickland and daughter Eva. Each judge awarded them the perfect score of 10 out of 10 for their sexy Samba. This was then repeated by a barefoot Melissa Rycroft dancing to Beyonce's 'I was here'.

abc Dancing With The Stars Winners-all star show Week 7 was a toss up between Melissa Rycroft & pro ballroom dancer Tony Dovolani, and Olympic Gold medalist Shawn Johnson with pro Derek Hough. While this last mentioned couple were tops in the individual dancing (Tango-Paso Doble)with a perfect score of 30 points, the first couple won overall after the points for the group dance were included. So my pick for dancing with the stars winner was really Shawn & Derek, since the judging for the group dance could be so much more subjective. This means that Melissa & Tony were awarded more points as dance fusion group dancers.

abc15 Dancing With The Stars Winners-all star show Week 6 was a head to head contest between Actor Gilles Marini & pro ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd, and Actress Sabrina Bryan & pro ballroom dancer Louis Van Amstel.They were tied at the top of the judge's leaderboard after getting perfect scores for their Cha Cha and Rumba, respectively. However, viewers did not agree with the judges and voted to axe Sabrina Bryan & Louis Van Amstel completely from abc Dancing With The Stars. So the real Dancing With The Stars winners were Gllles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd dancing Cha Cha

Special mention must be made of the individual performance of Olympic gold medallist Apollo Anton Ohno & pro ballroom dancer Karina Smirnoff.. Their Viennese Waltz was so flawless, it earned them a perfect score of 10 points from each Judge, Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba & Bruno Tonioni. All the celebrity dancers then competed against each other in the group Country western dance.

Celebrity Olympic gold medallist Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough, Actor Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd raised the bar of the already high standard of abc ballroom dancing with the stars. Their performances were equally stunning. While the first couple did a very athletic dance, the second did a very attractive Bollywood dance which the pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd had never danced or choreographed before.

Season 15 of abc Dancing with The Stars all star show started with a bang with a host of former Dancing With The Stars winners. Who is your favorite celebrity dancer? Judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioni & Carrie Ann Inaba announced a new system of awarding points, that would now include half points (0.5). Each couple did one dance before dancing with the stars winners were announced. Top of the leaderboard were my favorite, abc dancing with the stars winners from season 3, pro Nfl footballer Emmitt Smith & pro ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke:

Hail the new champions of abc Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) ballroom dancing, NFL superbowl champion super star Donald Driver & partner professional ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd. In a grand finale, they came up with stiff competition from Welsh Classical Singer Katherine Jenkins & pro ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, and Cuba-born hearthrob Actor William Levy & pro ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke. How stiff the competition? Well remember both Mark Ballas & Cheryl Burke are very experienced choreographers & ballroom dancers, each having won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy on two previous occasions, while Peta Murgatroyd is relatively new to abc Dancing With The Stars. Each dancer had to show off three dance numbers with one freestyle with no rules! It was probably their outrageous freestyle performing a 'Cowboy' dance, straight out of NFL champion Donald Driver's hometown in Texas, that clinched the Mirror Ball Trophy from the grasp of their competitors. Second placed Classical singer Katherine Jenkins could count herself rather unlucky, as she led the competition almost week in week out with near flawless ballroom dancing. But the race is not always for the fast starter; as a professional athlete, NFL super star Donald Driver knows what timing means. Did someone say timing Is everything? He was improving all the time, being pushed both by the judges and his partner/trainer & choreographer Peta Murgatroyd. The result? He peaked at the right time-abc Dancing With The Stars finals, and is now thewinner: the Champion.

Season 14 of abc Dancing With The Stars had a fantastic premiere, with every dancer showing a high standard of ballroom dance. The dancing with the stars winners of the opening night were British celebrity Classical singer Katherine Jennings & professional partner Mark Ballas, and Actor Jaleel White & pro partner Kym Johnson, who is a former abc Dancing With The Stars winner. Both Katherine Jennings and Jaleel White danced the Foxtrot. The two couples were the top ballroom dancers for the night, according to the 26 out of 30 points awarded by Judges Len Goodman (Chief), Bruno Tonioni, and Carrie Ann Inaba. Mark Ballas is also a two-time winner of the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

Interestingly, Katherine Jenkins appeared on DWTS before, but as a singer, not as a dancer. She had the audience spellbound with her very beautiful voice and singing. Her ballroom dancing turned out to be of excellent standard, and beautiful also. It was very clear that weeks of preparation of ballroom dancing classes would be paying off big time, and there would be stiff competition for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy. This was last won by US Army veteran JR Martinez, partnered with professional Karina Smirnoff, first-time abc dancing with the stars winner.

There would be no elimination this week, so public voting will not take place this first week of abc Dancing with the stars. Winners are suggested by Judges, whereas elimination is determined both by the Judges and the public voting. As a consequence, the twelve celebrity ballroom dancers for this week, are all abc dancing with the stars winners. The second highest points awarded for the night, 24, were obtained by Cuban Actor William Levy & pro Cheryl Burke, two-time abc Dancing With The Stars winner. They danced a lovely Cha Cha, which seemed to have brought out the Latin pedigree of William, who seemed to be in his element, naturally.

Third in points, 23, were four ballroom couples: Cha Cha by Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Gladys Knight & Tristan Mac Manus and Disney star Roshon Fegan & Chelsie Hightower, Foxtrot by Actress/Comedian Sherri Sheppard & Val Chmerkovskiy and Actor/Singer Jack Wagner & Anna Trebunskaya. Singing icon Gladys Knight, at 67 the oldest celebrity on the show, got a tremendous ovation from the audience after her dance. The judges remarked on how she got the moves, showing natural rythym. In fact, she looked in fine form.

Roshon Fegan, a Hip Hop dancer, represented the young well. He loves to dance, but needs to lessen the amount of Hip Hop influence in his movements, according to Chief Judge Len Goodman. Sherri Sheppard really enjoyed the joy of her dance, with good timing and transitions.

abc Dancing With The Stars Winners Season 13, 2011-JR Martinez & Karina Smirnoff Win Mirror Ball Trophy

What a memorable finals of fantastic ballroom & latin dancing, freestyle plus instant dancing to end season 13 of abc dancing with the stars winners! It was a glorious mix of popularity votes, judging, hard work, and a show of desire as to who wanted it the most on DWTS. When U.S Army war veteran JR Martinez made mistakes, his many fans voted him back so that he could correct them with ballroom dancing lessons , and that he did with the help of his master coach, professional dancer and choreographer Karina Smirnoff whose expressions & output showed how badly she wanted the Mirror Ball Trophy herself. What a fantastic night of abc dancing with the stars winners, don't you think? Karina Smirnoff wanted that Mirror Ball Trophy so badly from her expressions and her tremendous output in choreography, and J.R Martinez, 28, an "All My Children" TV actor and motivational speaker, was not about to disappoint with his natural flair for dancing. He thanked voters and told Karina "You are amazing and I'm so grateful that I was able to be a part of your first Mirror Ball Trophy".

Mind you, the competition was stiff from Ricki Lake & Derek Hough who were leaders most of the 10 weeks, & Rob Kardashian who came in with a late burst of excellence with master teacher Cheryl Burke. Derek Hough was a 3-time abc dancing with the stars winner of the mirror ball, a win for every time he appeared in a DWTS finals before. The Judges once remarked to Derek Hough that even though he was a brilliant Choreographer, akin to genius, he could not expect to top the leaderboard every week, week after week. Of course Derek Hough thinks otherwise, always providing stiff competition with choreography to match.
Ricki Lake & Derek Hough were shockingly eliminated in the first round on Tuesday night's show, even after they won maximum 30 points from the Judges & top leaderboard spot in the show's first hour of dancing.
"I've loved basically every minute of this...I've done something that I really didn't think I could do and for someone who is a middle-aged mom, I hope I made my children proud, my fiance and my family"' said Ricki Lake, who lost weight more than 20 pounds while ballroom dancing on DWTS, to the beautiful show co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet, a past abc dancing with the stars winner.

Cheryl Burke also made it to 3 DWTS before, winning twice! Sex Activist Chaz Bono had once said the one person he feared getting as a pro partner was Cheryl Burke as she was a tough task master. Maybe he felt he would get a whipping for not coming up to her very high standards in ballroom dancing. Everyone agrees Reality TV star Rob Kardashian improved with his abc dancing with the stars winners ballroom dancing by leaps and bounds, and was a deserving finalist to match the consistent front runners Ricki Lake & JR Martinez. Their freestyle was brilliant, earning the maximum 30 points from the judges. The thought did pass through my mind that no one may be able to compare, and in the past abc dancing with the stars winners always were the ones who did the best freestyle. However JR Martinez & Karina Smirnoff exceeded all expectations by also getting maximum 30 points from the judges for their truly amazing freestyle. Game on!

It was a great comeback from their very dissapointing Cha Cha, and they then looked forward to the instant dance, where they had to do probably the most difficult of the latin dances, the Samba, to be immediately followed by Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke doing Samba also. Instant meant they had little time to prepare, and to dance to a newly given tune:

What magnificently energetic performances, especially from Karina Smirnoff showing how bad she wanted the Mirror Ball Trophy, and JR Martinez who was thankful for the opportunity to get his life back. Judges awarded them maximum 30 points, as they also did Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke for their excellent Samba as well.

Have you ever wondered why people dance? Lately, with shows such as Dancing With The Stars , dancing has taken on an entirely new meaning. When we look back at the history of dance, not many people can definitively say where or when dance originated or when it actually became a part of the human culture. Ancient history does tell us, however, that dance was an important part of ceremonies, rituals, celebrations and entertainment since before the birth of the earliest human civilizations. According to Wikipedia, archeology delivers traces of dance from prehistoric times such as Egyptian tomb paintings depicting dancing figures from around 3300 BC.

One of the earliest dance forms, Wikipedia continues, may have been in the performance and in the telling of myths. It was also sometimes used to show feelings for the opposite sex . There are even some who would venture to believe that the actual "art" of lovemaking is in and of itself a form of dance. Prior to the production of written languages, dance was often used as the primary method for passing stories on from generation to generation.

Nowadays, people tend to dance for a variety of reasons, usually just to have fun. However, there are some people who go to school to learn more about the art form. There are also a variety of different dance styles which still exist. For example, some of these dance forms include: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, ballroom, Latin, highland dance and Irish dance to name a few. Dancing varies from culture to culture and there are actually professional dance competitions that are held where dancers can compete against each other and show off various styles that they have learned. Not many people stop to think too long or hard about it, but dance is all around us. We see it in television commercials, in toddlers who are first learning to walk, at high school dances, weddings, parties, ballet schools, performances or even in your own kitchen.

There are also many added benefits to dancing now, which perhaps weren't considered before. Fine for a total body workout- so dancing can be beneficial in a number of ways, including getting you in shape ! If you are serious about dancing, there are careers for it, although these careers are typically very competitive. For instance, if you wanted to be a backup dancer in Janet Jackson's entourage, you would have to go through numerous auditions and even then, you still may not get picked. There are other dance-related occupations that people tend to fall into, however. These occupations include some of the following: dance teacher, dance sport coach, dance therapist and choreographer. If you are thinking of becoming a professional dancer, sometimes it's not as easy as you think. Derek Hough & Ricki Lake Tango-Strictly Ballroom

Choreographer/Teacher Derek Hough & Actress/Reality TV presenter Ricki Lake are at it again; this time the Tango-strictly ballroom on abc dancing with the stars winners live entertainment show.. For the last couple of weeks they have topped the leaderboard with their Jive and their Rumba, and hope to continue their excellent performances. No longer is Ricki Lake stressing on losing weight like her idol Kirstie Alli, because she is beginning to look in very good shape from the many, many hours of daily practice, almost to the point of quitting. This week's theme on DWTS is ballroom dancing to movie scores, and this couple chose 'Pyscho':

They were exciting to watch, even brilliant at times, and the audience gave them a very long ovation. Once again, Professional dancer Derek Hough, 3-times former abc dancing with the stars winner, and Ricki Lake topped the leaderboard. Almost the perfect score 29 points from 30.
Another strongly contesting couple were US Army Veteran JR Martinez & Pro/Teacher Karina Smirnoff, dancing Foxtrot, not a favorite of JR, to the movie score 'The Classic Comedy' or popularly known as 'The Pink Panther'. Although JR Martinez is a good dancer, and probably the best male dancer on show, showing tremendous ability and agility in both Latin & Ballroom dancing, the performance was just about ordinary, but the audience loved it all the same. 26 points

U.S Women Soccer Olympic Gold medallist & goalkeeper Hope Solo is having the time of her life on abc dancing with the stars, since her unsuccessful attempt to help her USA team win the FIFA Women's Soccer World Cup Final against eventual winners Japan, earlier this year. Her Professional ballroom partner/choreographer Maksim Chermokovskiy made the time to catch up with Hope Solo's very busy schedule, especially with travelling, to teach her the Foxtrot, to their chosen movie score 'You Got A Friend In Me'. He took up the challenge to have Hope Solo appear more feminine in her ballroom dancing on DWTS. Maksim Chermokovskiy, though he has made several appearances on abc dancing with the stars, and is very hardworking and popular, has never won the mirror ball, though he has come close to being a dancing with the stars winner. At times, they were practicing until 2am in the morning! The resulting Foxtrot showed Hope Solo as a fun loving, beautiful dancer, who was challenged to put in still more hard work and commitment as she can make it right up, all the way through to the finals. 24 points

Reality TV star Rob Kardashian has appeared to be very shy even in his ballroom on abc dancing with the stars winners show. His Pro partner/Teacher Cheryl Burke has worked hard on Rob, whom she knew before DWTS, to bring out some excitement in his dancing the Paso Doble. Could she succeed? As a 2-time abc dancing with the stars winner, sure Cheryl Burke can, to the movie score 'Superman'. Rob Kardashian showed musicality, ability, and moved with the certainty and steadiness the male dancer should. 24 points

Mark Ballas & Kristin Callavari Ballroom Samba abc Dancing With The Stars Wk 3

Kristin Callavari had her most memorable year of her life in 2005 when she graduated from High School in 2005, and moved to Los Angeles, California. She and Mark Ballas, a recent dancing with the stars winner, practiced for the ballroom Salsa on abc dancing with the stars, with Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love ', a most difficult dance for her to get over with early. Judge Len Goodman didn't like the Beyonce stuff at the beginning of the dance, as he prefers contestants to go directly into the ballroom dance choreography-strictly ballroom. He found the dance to be 20% Samba & 80% fabulous, when it should be the other way around. Judge Bruno Tonioni thought Kristin performed like a devil woman on DWTS. Who could say no to her after that? Judge Carrie Ann Inaba did think Kristin Callavari filled Beyonce's shoes with a different choreography from Derek Hough & Ricki Lake, and should keep it up! 24 points from 30 maximum

Hope Solo & Maks Chermokovskiy Ballroom Cha Cha abc Dancing With The Stars Winners Wk3

The most memorable event of Hope Solo's life so far was representing her country at the Fifa Women's World Cup 2011, where her USA team reached the finals, only to be defeated at the death, so to speak. She had worked her entire life to reach that world stage, but learnt that it's all about the journey!

To the tune of 'I'm Loving You ' by Enrique Iglesias, Hope & Maks performed the ballroom Cha Cha of that memorable night of abc dancing with the stars. Would Maks be able to have the sexy performance from Hope the judges asked for last week?

Yes he can! Carrie Ann Inaba thought Hope Solo was sexy hot, a strong dancer. She executed the ballroom Cha Cha extremely well on DWTS, but still needed to work on her walk. Bruno Tonioni agreed Hope came out of her cage, and advised her cross her legs slightly when walking, and to take it on the ball of her feet-strictly ballroom. 24 points

Carson Kressley & Anna Trebunskaya Ballroom Tango abc Dancing With The Stars Winners Wk3:

Fashion guru Carson Kressley fashioned the most memorable year of his life around his sense of style: the 2003 Emmy nomination, which led him to feeling comfortable with himself. He had grown up gay, feeling uncomfortable with himself for a very long time. His tune of choice 'It's My Life ' to dance ballroom Tango on abc dancing with the stars winners with partner/Teacher Anna Trebunskaya. Strictly ballroom, and at the finale, Carson takes off and holds up Anna's shoes to the delight of the audience, and to their thunderous applause with a standing ovation.

Judge Bruno Tonioni thought Carson Kressley & Anna Trebunskaya were 'insanely brilliant' on DWTS and got a kiss from Carson. Len Goodman said he certainly wanted no kiss though he enjoyed their performance, and that Carson was flamboyant as he attacked the ballroom dance with the correct attitude. Carrie Ann Inaba thought it was by far Carson's best abc dancing with the stars winners dance. It had drama, fun, entertainment, sexy, sassy, lil bit of girlie girlie as well as masculinity etc etc. 23 points

Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas, a past abc dancing with the stars winner, were shockingly eliminated.

Carson Kressley & Anna Trebunskaya lacked technique in last week's Cha Cha dance but Carson entertained giving the most laughs of the night. As they prepared for this week's Quickstep dance on DWTS, Anna found that, despite the funny mannerism, Carson was very serious about the ballroom dance competition. Judges thought there was no great energy in their partnership, though improved, but Carson was somewhat wobbly like if he was dancing on banana skins. To this remark by Bruno, Anna took off one shoe and raised it as if to throw at him! Len's remark, though, was the most acid of them all: the worst dancers seem to be the most fun to watch! 18 points out of 30 maximum.

Rob Kardashian says after his Viennese Waltz ballroom dance last week on abc dancing with the stars, he is over 200 lbs. and wants to lose weight on DWTS because he doesn't feel good about his big belly. His 4-time abc Dancing With The Stars winners finals teacher & partner Cheryl Burke agreed Rob is shy, reserved, but is coming along in preparation for the Jive. This was full of energy with excellent timing, said the judges. Rob showed great improvement and has started to blossom, seemingly listening to Cheryl. 21 points

Kristin Cavallari & partner Mark Ballas moved from last week's lively but nervous Cha Cha to this week's Quickstep on abc dancing with the stars. She sported her idol, Marilyn Monroe look, causing Judge Bruno to be bedazzled by the blonde bombshell. Len agreed Kristin looked stunning, but found her ballroom Quickstep dance was not as good as her looks. As well, this couple broke hold which is against the rules. Mark agreed and said that this was deliberate in his choreography, and the Judges were right to point out this breach. He accepted 22 points.

Hope Solo the pro U.S women's soccer goalkeeper, reputed to be the best in the world, had been criticized in her Week 1 abc dancing with the stars performance of the ballroom Viennese waltz, for not showing enough femininity. Her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy promised to have her ready for this week's Jive dance through Hope's busy week of preparing to make her 100th international appearance versus the Canadian National Women's soccer team; and ready she was! However, in spite of showing a lot of power, her flicks were more like kicks as if it were soccer. The Judges felt she needed to kick from the knees rather than from the hips. Intricate flicks & kicks were lost a bit, showing more rehearsals were needed for DWTS. Nothing like Ricki Lake & Derek Hough Jive 19 points

David Arquette & Kym Johnson performed their Jive dance on abc dancing with the stars doing the papaboui to the delight of the Judges, who were not impressed though with the standard of their ballroom dance. This did not go down well with the audience, who booed the Judges. Needless to say, no match to Derek Hough & Ricki Lake on DWTS. David & Kym got 18 points and this landed them at the bottom of the leaderboard, hoping that the public vote would save them from elimination.

Elisabetta Canalis & Valentin Chmerkovskiy were much improved from the previous week when Elisabetta was surprised to be recalled for this week's ballroom dance. Val said her rehearsals were tense, but with an improved attitude. One Judge even congratulated her for nailing the Quick Step dance and doing a good lambarkini. The couple got a very improved 21 points, but when combined with the public vote, was not enough to take them out of jeopardy. They were eliminated from DWTS.

J.R.Martinez & Partner Karina Smirnoff On abc Dancing With The Stars

Army veteran/actor JR Martinez last week did a touching Viennese waltz with his partner Karina Smirnoff , on abc Dancing With The Stars which sent them straight to joint top of the abc news leaderboard. This week they had to do the Jive :

The audience gave these DWTS dancers a standing ovation. Italian Choreograher/TV Personality Judge BrunoTonioli & Actress Judge Carrie Ann Inaba found JR Martinez to be charismatic, with great feel for the music from within, and that he was like a natural dancer. However, Head Judge British professional Ballroom dancer Len Goodman remarked critically 'what is in the label is not always in the tin'; meaning JR & Karina did too much of a Lindy Hop rather than Jive . They were awarded a total of 22 points out of a total possible 30 points.

Former Prosecutor/CNN Tv presenter Nancy Grace & partner Tristan MacManus were criticised last week abc news for their Cha Cha lacking the necessary flair and attack. This week was spent working so hard on perfecting the Quick Step, it brought out tears to the eyes of tough court prosecutor Nancy, as DWTS is nothing like being in the courtroom. The hard work ballroom dancing lessons paid off as the judges liked the good mood of the performance, the teamwork, the maintenance of the hold through the few bars at the beginning and at the end. On the negative side, Nancy was a bit too top heavy for abc dancing with the stars, and two of the three judges found there was need for more razzmatazz, so to speak. They awarded this ballroom dancing pair 21 points.

Chynna Phillips Singer/songwriter and daughter of the famous pop group of the 60's The Mamas and The Papas , had partnered with Tony Dovolani for joint top of the abc news leaderboard on abc dancing with the stars last week, with their beautiful Viennese waltz. She strived to prepare over the last week to train hard, and push herself with some of her most choiced cusswords to master the Jive of this week. One judge found her performance to be pregnant with great expectations, but too polite; good but not great! The others wondered aloud whether Chynna was injured and playing it safe ballroom dancing on DWTS. Though she was naturally graceful, her sexiness was not yet coming out, and she shouldn't hold back anymore. 21 points

Chaz Bono complained to his Singer/Choreographer partner Lacey Schwimmer that after their Cha Cha of last week abc dancing with the stars, his knees hurt and became sore, necessitating ice to keep down the swelling. Consequently, in the Quick Step of this week, he was seen by the judges to be making 'baby steps', probably in pain, lacking in energy. Although Chaz showed grit and determination, his steps were too slow. Quick Step needs more speed & attack for pure DWTS! 17 points

Ricki Lake & Derek Hough topped the Leaderboard jointly last week with their Viennese waltz, and Ricki was keen to train well over the week for the Jive, so as to support Derek, who has never been eliminated early before the 6th week. She also kept wondering how her idol Kirstie Alley reached the finals of DWTS losing weight by dancing , and is hoping to emulate her on both counts for abc news. This couple received a standing ovation from the live ballroom dancing audience. The majority of the judges concurred, finding them the first to perform kicks & flicks correctly; their Jive full of attack, fun, and the best Jive of the night. 23 points

Past Dancing With The Stars Winners Derek Hough (3 Times) & Brooke Burke-Charvet (Now Presenter)

Continuing from last blog with 6th Contestants on abc news dancing with the stars: David Arquette & Kym Johnson (2 Wins of MirrorBall Trophy on DWTS) doing the Viennese waltz . David is from a family of entertainers, and is no stranger to a big stage abc13, looking dapper in his Tuxedo. The judges liked his direct entry into the dance routine, no messing about; his relaxed disposition even though he made mistakes, and he looked the part of a romantic leading man. David impressed and the couple was awarded a score of 18 out of a maximum score of 30.

7th up were Italian Elisabetta Canelis (better known as George Clooney's ex-girlfriend) & Pro newbie, the Russian Val Chermakovskiy, brother of the 10-time experienced Maksim on DWTS. Naturally, the two contestants are still trying to get on terms with the language barrier in navigating through abc news dancing with the stars, and through the Cha Cha . Judges wanted Elisabetta to develop more confidence, because she cannot depend on her partner when dancing solo parts alone. 15 marks

Just spoke about dancing solo? Well, up came U.S Women soccer player, goalkeeper & Olympic gold medallist Hope Solo on the arms of Maksim Chermokovskiy as the 8th contesting couple on abc news dancing with the stars. And he did dance Solo, but not like the football, more like the Viennese waltz, in deference to the appearance of his younger brother Val making his DWTS debut on abc13 just the dance before. The judges found they had great attack attributes, great body contact like glue, gorgeous lines, generally strong. However, more femininity was called from Hope, though the couple exhibited good hold, posture, and lovely movements. Maks says he'll work on the femininity bit! Do you think he's able enough to bring about that desired outcome? 21 points

In 9th position were the unflappable Carsson Kressley paired with Russian redhead Anna Trebunskaya, dancing the Cha Cha. As expected, Carsson gave the most entertaining dance display of the night on abc news dancing with the stars, what with his easy laughable antics. But the judges said he performed; his Cha Cha had swagger, stagger, outrageous fun & entertainment dressed in bedazzling blazer. 17 points

Next up on DWTS in 10th place dancing the Viennese waltz were U.S soldier J.R Martinez & another Russian Karina Schirmoff dancing Viennese waltz. J.R Martinez J.R Martinez, who joined the army at age 19, was badly burnt while driving a truck serving in the Iraq war. He needed 33 surgeries, but survived with scars about his body and face, and minus one ear. His survival abilities in the face of great adversities, as well as his lively heart and spirit, were truly admired by all, including the audience, on abc13. His dancing was really cool, right up to standard, according to the judges, who gave him 22 points.

11th up were Ricki Lake & Derek Hough (3 Wins) dancing the Viennese waltz. Ricki said she was inspired by Kristi Alley, who had appeared on the last episode of abc news dancing with the stars, and was a great performer to have reached the finals after dancing and losing a lot of weight . Judges pronounced on her footwork not being up to mark, but great Chemistry, smooth, elegant and enjoyable, finishing spectacular. 20 points

Finally, the long awaited appearance of transvestite Chaz Bono, the son of famous entertainers and Native Americans Sonny & Cher Bono, dancing Cha Cha with Lacy Schwimmer DWTS. Tom Berganon announced his casting continued the trend of over 6 years and abc 13 seasons, of always finding someone who will attract media buzz & popular interest. Chaz had started off as a toddler performer on TV alongside his parents Sonny & Cher . He admiited to being in his 40's and needing to dance to lose tummy fat . Chaz did not disappoint as the judges reported great footsteps & attitude to the dance; he really came out to enjoy the performance as the first transgender contestant. 17 points

Presenters Tom Bergonon & Brooke Burke-Charvet (now) opened abc13 season of Dancing With The Stars [DWTS] brightly, with a brand new mega size ballroom dancing set, and three new pros in Val Chermkovskiy (brother of 10 season favorite pro Maksim Chermkovskiy), as well as last season's troupe members Peta Murgatroyd & Tristan MacManus. In 13 seasons and 6 years of casting, there is always someone who brings out media buzz and public interest, and this season is no exception in the person of transvestite Chaz Bono on dancing with the stars, whose parents are the famous entertainers Sonny & Cher Bono.

1st up on abc13 season DWTS was NBA basketball star of L.A Lakers fame, Ron Artest , not only sporting a new hairstyle, but also a new name, Metta World Peace, inscribed in Hebrew on his blond, yes blond hairdo. Or was it bronze? Ron partnered with Pro newbie on abc Dancing With The Stars Peta, doing the Cha Cha. Judge Len found too much shimmying to start the dance, as in past seasons and that the steps were poor! Judge Bruno advised Ron to work on technique as he definitely has the power while Judge Carrie Ann pointed out that Ron was eccentric but sexy in his dancing and now knows how wild he will be. The Judges awarded this couple a score of 13 points out of a maximum of 30.

2nd couple abc13 season DWTS doing the Viennese waltz were Reality Tv star Robert Kardashian & his partner, 5-times Champ Cheryl Burke. Family support in the audience was very strong with his Mom and five sisters including past abc dancing with the stars contestant Kim Kardashian. Sibling rivalry for sure as to which Kardashian is the better dancer. All Robert wants to do though, is to entertain, have fun, and reach further than sister Kim so he can have bragging rights as the only boy among five sisters. Can partner Cheryl Burke keep up with the Kardashians? The Judges thought Robert had potential but must relax, show more musicality, take control as the debonaire is there, stop being so careful, come out and 'let it go'! Are these things easy to do with such a dominant, imposing partner as the indomitable Cheryl Burke? Maybe not, without her succcint connivance. 16 points scored.

Contestant #3 abc13 season DWTS dancing the Cha Cha, were another Reality star Kristin Cavallari , better known as the ex-girlfriend of George Clooney, and the experienced Mark Ballas. Mark reported Kristin was naturally co-ordinated while she reported to have done only a little ballet as a child. Judges felt they did a very good Cha Cha with good movement and quality. However, Kristin shelved the necessary attitude from rehearsal. Bruno in particular, thinks she got the hotness, and should not be afraid to bring it out on abc dancing with the stars because he loves bad girls. 19 points.

#4 Contestants abc13 season DWTS with a Viennese waltz were Chynna Phillips , who loves to dance, and Tony Davalani. Chynna exhibited great poise and married it with grace according to the Judges, and this was only befitting of the great choreography. It was the best first dance on dancing with the stars as far as they could remember-really beautiful! 22 points.

Fearless court prosecutor & CNN presenter Nancy Grace partnered with newbie Tristian MacManus as couple #5, doing the Cha Cha. She looked a bit on the heavy side and could do with some serious dancing to lose weight . However Judges felt she was lavishly gifted, light on her feet, and got the moves but must remember the choreography. She also needed flair & attack. 16 points
