It’s a great honor to get an opportunity to help find the right businesses to receive the angel investment from government (tax payers money!)

These meetings are a once-a-month affair. I enjoy these meetings for several reasons:

1) It gives me hope. I hear entrepreneurs coming from far-flung places in India doing innovation that makes me look at them in awe.

I have met an entrepreneur building farm-to-fork traceability using blockchain in the North East. I also meet folks who manufacture bricks made of concrete to replace the traditional red bricks. I have also met and learned from a young group that is building English learning tools in rural Orissa.

These are just some examples of people at grassroot level who are trying to make a difference.

2) It also helps me understand the problems most grass-roots entrepreneurs face.

They cannot properly present and communicate their value proposition as well as their competitive advantage. Though the panelists ask them to speak in the local language, it is still not the language but the way ideas need to be articulated to get buy-in from others.

They need a lot of mentorship. Not the ones where people are aiming to build billion-dollar companies, but the ones where people are standing on their feet, trying to innovate, trying to build a better India and world.

I really want to think deeply about how I can be of any use here.

3) I see talented government officials in action closely, which gives me positivity

These meetings are extremely well organized. The organizing teams are extremely empathetic and courteous to the presenters and the judging panel. They keep improving the process and communicate effectively.

I also see the depth of knowledge of some of the officials who sit in these meetings, which is very reassuring.

So, overall, I love these once-a-month meetings that give me hope, knowledge, and positivity. India will be a huge force in the next two decades.

It will also be a GOOD FORCE FOR THE PLANET.

1. Develop product knowledge: It’s important for call centre executives to have in-depth knowledge of the products or services they are selling. This will enable them to answer customer queries effectively and provide the necessary information to make a sale.

2. Active listening: Call centre executives should listen actively to customer needs and concerns. This will help them to provide personalized recommendations and solutions that meet the customer’s needs.

3. Building rapport: Building a good rapport with customers can help call centre executives to establish trust and credibility. Customers are more likely to buy from someone they trust.

4. Upselling and cross-selling: Call centre executives can drive more sales by identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products or services. This involves suggesting additional products that complement what the customer is already buying.

5. Effective communication: Call centre executives should communicate effectively with customers. This includes using a clear and concise language, avoiding technical jargon, and adapting communication style to the customer’s preferences.

6. Follow-up: Call centre executives should follow up with customers after a sale to ensure they are satisfied with their purchase. This can lead to repeat business and positive reviews.

We at Indus Net Technologies (INT.) have developed effective and cutting edge solutions to track all of the above using #naturallanguageprocessing and #largelanguagemodels

Every business needs all three forms of intervention – Bhramha (Creator), Vishnu (Protector), and Mahesh (Destroyer) to complete a cycle.

But there are few problems:

1) Every Founder loves playing the role of creator, but lacks the experience or resilience of being a protector, and lacks the motivation to be destroyer.

2) Founders get stuck in their comfort zone of being creator, and sometimes protector. They end up ignoring the other two key roles.

3) Great founders end up becoming all three. It is needed in the early days, but generally it continues beyond. They forget to delegate these roles as they seem to be too crucial to let go.

There is no one way to solve this problem. It all depends upon your core strength, ability to hire a great team, emotional maturity to let go control, and decision mechanism to double-down or kill a business.

In 2023, a mountaineer and loved member of Indian entrepreneur community, Anurag Maloo met an horrible accident on top of Annapurna (one of the deadliest 8000+ mts peak).

Firstly, Why would someone attempt to climb a mountain where 1 in 3 mountaineers perish? And that too without oxygen support? This is similar to the question – why entrepreneurs build business when less than 2% companies see their 10th anniversary?

But this is not the real story. When Maloo was lost in the crevasse and people were losing hope, a Polish climber on – Adam Bielecki gave up his climb to go for the rescue.

At 8000+ mts rescue is more dangerous than climbing the peak. Then why would a mountaineer who went to climb (for his own joy, challenge or glory), aborts his mission, and go to rescue Maloo, risking his own life? That too when the chances of Maloo’s survival was bleak. But he still takes a chance, along with some braveheart Sherpas and pulls off the impossible.

This is what mountains bring out among its seekers. And this is no different from true spirit of entrepreneurship.

It is all about working for your own big hairy audacious goals, but also betting for others’ success, and at times putting that ahead of one’s own self.

I think it is more of finding joy in beating the odds, taking up a difficult challenge, and using ones skill to achieve success – does not matter for whom it is achieved.

At the end of the day, you are full with satisfaction, sense of achievement, and a lot of new learnings.

This is what entrepreneurship is all about.

Here are some facts that highlight the impact of equipment failure in this industry:

1. Cost of downtime: Unplanned downtime can cost pharmaceutical companies an average of $150,000 per hour. This includes direct costs such as lost production and labor expenses, as well as indirect costs associated with delays in product availability, missed sales opportunities, and potential regulatory compliance issues.

2. Product quality and safety: Equipment failure can compromise the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products. Malfunctioning equipment may lead to variations in processing conditions, inaccurate measurements, or contamination, which can affect product integrity and efficacy.

3. Regulatory compliance: The pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated, and equipment failures can impact compliance with regulatory requirements. Equipment failure can lead to deviations from Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards, potentially resulting in warning letters, product recalls, or even facility shutdowns.

4. Time-to-market delays: Equipment failures can cause delays in the development, manufacturing, and release of pharmaceutical products. These delays can have a significant impact on a company’s ability to meet market demands and launch products on time.

5. Maintenance and repair costs: Equipment failures require repair or replacement, resulting in additional maintenance costs for pharmaceutical companies. Unscheduled maintenance activities and emergency repairs can be more expensive than planned maintenance activities, impacting operational budgets.

6. Supply chain disruptions: Equipment failures in the pharmaceutical industry can cause disruptions in the supply chain. If a critical piece of equipment fails, it can interrupt the production process and lead to delays in product availability.

7. Patient safety risks: Equipment failures in the pharmaceutical industry can have serious implications for patient safety. Faulty equipment may lead to dosage errors, inconsistent product quality, or the production of substandard or contaminated drugs.

The effect is viral. The beneficiary will feel good and will most likely extend similar behavior to someone else in his/her network. This creates a cascading effect, which can snowball sooner than later.

This needs a ‘giving’ mindset instead of a ‘taking’ or ‘trading’ mindset. India, as vishwaguru has always been at the forefront of this philosophy irrespective of the social or economic status of individuals.

Can we call out such behaviors and actions, not to reward the preparators (as they hardly care), but to create positivity and showcase examples, so that more and more people come forward and pay-it-forward.

We all owe it to a better society.
