<title>2010 Aboriginal Women and Leadership Workshop Opportunities </title>
<description>Call for Host Communities. Deadline: November 1, 2010 – 5:00 pm EDT. The Building On Our Strengths: Aboriginal Women and Leadership workshop was developed to provide a personal and professional development opportunity for Aboriginal women to increase their skills and confidence to enhance community sport and physical activity. During the 3 hour workshop, participants discuss community issues relating to sport and physical activity, and develop their skills relating to communication, networking, and influencing change. Workshop content was developed by Aboriginal women for Aboriginal women; and each workshop will be facilitated by an Aboriginal woman. 

The workshops are delivered by CAAWS, the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS), in partnership with the Aboriginal Sport Circle and Motivate Canada, with a financial contribution from Sport Canada.

Call for Host Communities: CAAWS is seeking organizations interested in hosting an Aboriginal Women and Leadership workshop in their community. A minimum of 15 workshops will be delivered across the country in 2010/2011. Facilitator costs (travel, honorarium) will be paid by CAAWS, and grants of up to $250 are available for each community to cover additional costs (e.g. facilities, and refreshments). 

Deadline: November 1, 2010 – 5:00 pm EDT.
