The camera sends audio and video wirelessly to the handheld monitor, which has a 2.5-Inch color LCD screen for crystal clear viewing of your camera’s video without need for any wiring. To protect your privacy and avoid interference, the PHOENIX1 wirelessly transmits both audio and video on a different frequency than the standardized 2.4gHz, allowing you to view your video on the without worry of interference or interception. The small but powerful camera features automatically activating night vision which helps you see clearly at night and in dark situations. Keep watch over your belongings and loved ones without a bulky system or wiring with the PHOENIX1. The PHOENIX1’s Clear Signal Technology is an answer to many other monitoring systems that experience interference from other wireless signals. With the growing popularity of wireless devices brings interference issues and concerns over interception and privacy. This system transmits audio and video on a 900mHz frequency, creating a clear picture which will not interfere with any of the standardized 2.4gHz wireless networks, devices, and access points within your home or business. Both audio and video signals are able to pass through floors and walls within the 75 foot optimum range. The PHOENIX1 is as portable and versatile as you need it to be. Because the system’s camera transmits its audio and video signals over the 900mHz frequency, there is no need to hook any wires from the camera to the monitor. The monitor is powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery and the camera is capable of running on battery power, making this system able to operate completely wire free.

Avoid Interference & Interception with Clear Signal Technology – This system transmits over a 900mHz frequency, which will not interfere with 2.4GHz

Completely Wire Free Surveillance – Both the monitor and camera can run on battery power, with no need for wires

Continuous Security Day or Night! – The camera comes equipped with infrared night vision, allowing you to see dark areas while monitoring.

Durable Camera for Indoor or Outdoor Use – The discreet camera is built with durable aluminum and designed to function both indoor and outdoor

Audio Support – A built-in microphone that lets you hear everything that’s happening in your monitoring location.

So far everything works well. I opened up the box and plugged in the camera. I then walked all the way around my house and it worked well. Yes there was a little fuz and static but nothing major. My main concerns were that my existing wireless devices would interfear. (Wireless internet, Wireless phones 6.0 Panasonic, and a wireless video transmiter 5.8) So far nothing seems to be interfearing with this camera. The picture quality is good and it seems to be well built.

I read the reviws for the other SVAT camera system that says you have to plug in the monitor behind the batteries and that it uses AAA Batteries. I thought I would try this camera because it has a rechargable batery and a base that you can set the monitor in while it charges.

I am very happy with my purchase. My expectations were really high but this thing does work well. So that is why I am taking the time to type this review so others can rest assured that this camera is,in my opnion a great deal.

EXCELLENT SECURITY CAMERA

Great picture night and day. If you want to get a picture of the bad guys that will stand up in court this is the one to buy. I’ve tried the lower resolution cameras and you can’t get a good picture of their face. The only reason I didn’t give this camera 5 stars is because it needs the ability to sense when security lights are on.

The low light camera feature only turns off in daylight and floodlights tend to wash out anything light in color like faces and license plates. I plan on adding more of these cameras to my Q See DVR system because I’ve found that one camera isn’t enough . I only have one camera now and I just came home to find my passenger side window smashed on my car. The perpetrator manage to stay out of sight of the camera.

These high-quality solutions can be optimized for many different applications and sites. The Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera sends live video through the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world. The camera supports dual codecs (MPEG-4 and MJPEG), which can be used simultaneously. MPEG-4 gives efficient bandwidth consumption with good-quality compression and is optimal for real-time viewing of video. MJPEG gives optimal video quality, making it ideal for large-volume storage to a network attached storage (NAS) device.

Technical Details

Former Linksys Business Series

Sends high-quality live video to your network wirelessly

Low-light sensitivity

Simultaneous dual CODECs make an optimal combination of video viewing and storage

Supports two-way audio, IP multicast, and 3GPP

Good quality camera

Good image quality and has worked well for the past 6 months. I would give it 5 stars but the reception is weak on this camera. WIFI looses connection if you are very far from your router. I had to add an access point and a bridge to keep all my cameras connected. And I only have a 1600 sq ft house.

I like the two way audio. It is ok in low light but not really as good as I would like. The motion works well but may be too well for some. You will get lots of email images. The microphone works well and picks up almost any noise in range. It’s nice to be able to see what’s happening at home while your away. The motor is noisy, no doubt about it.

But over all I am pleased with the camera and the software is fair. Too bad the software won’t accept any other cameras only the WVC210 and WVC200.

Great wireless alarm — except when the temp is over 90 degrees!

UPDATE OF MY REVIEW DUE TO JULY 2006 HEAT WAVE: I have two of these low-cost alarms set up, and both become quite intermittent when the temperature reaches 90 degrees and above (in the shade): Sometimes they go off when a person/car goes past, and sometimes they do not. As soon as the temperature decreases though, they become much more reliable. I WOULD NOT RECOMENDED THESE DEVICES FOR SECTIONS OF THE COUNTRY WITH HOT WEATHER, SUCH AS ARIZONA, TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, ETC.

Original review: I am very impressed with this alarm: It is accurately able to detect people coming up the stairs of my apartment, and sets off the indoor alarm — and it has not sent out any false alarms (Most problems with this alarm (that I have read in the reviews below) appear to be caused by the sensor being in direct sun light. This seems to cause these units numerous difficulties, and should have been addressed in the Patrol Sensor’s enclosed instructions — but isn’t.

However, by simply shielding the outdoor sensor from all *direct* contact with the light of the sun by using tape or opaque plastic, or repositioning the outdoor sensor, appears to eliminate false alarms or no alarms). This alarm unit appears to be quite well made, and the price is, of course, incredibly low. Great buy!!

After my house was broken into I wanted to get an alarm but didn’t want to pay any companies or commit to any monitoring contracts. This fit the bill perfectly. It works great once you plan around some caveats.

Pros: very simple operation. I’ve only had it two weeks but seems reliable so far. Easy to set up. The remote works well, but it’s too bulky for me to carry around. So I just use a PIN code when I come and ago. I love the flexibility of this system. It’s easy to add sensors or accessories. Compared to a pro alarm, the stuff is very cheap but built decently. It doesn’t quite have the build quality “feel” of a pro system but it’s simple and for the money works well. I love how it’s all wireless. I”m a renter and don’t want to drill holes or pull wire in walls and this is perfect.

Cons: The control panel (SC-001), PIN pad and siren are all one unit. If a crook breaks in and smashes it to bits during the 30 seconds on a delayed entry alarm it will be worthless. Or even if the siren is going off, cover it tightly with your hand, rip it off the wall and take it to the bathroom sink and submerge it in water or otherwise disable it. In other words, there’s a single failure point that’s not well protected. Especially if you mount it by your door for easy ripping off the wall as the crooks come in. In professional systems, the control unit is usually in a metal box in a closet so if someone smashes the keypad it will still go off. In pro systems the siren is separate as well.

Now here’s how you can plan your system to mitigate the cons. Here’s what to buy: Buy an extra key pad and at least one extra siren unit. They’re only $30 each. Next, get creative where you hide the control panel. Put it in a closet or behind your washer and dryer or some place hard to get to. Some palace where it will take more than 30 seconds to destroy the control panel. Better yet, I am going to buy an inexpensive metal key box. It’s a locking metal box that you can hang keys in. I found one on a big auction site for $15. I plan to drill a hole to poke the antenna out and another hole to run the power cord in. And some holes in the door so if the siren does go off, it can be heard. This will make it a little more like a pro system, in a locked metal box, preferably in a closet. Once the control box is secure, then set up one or more external sirens. I bought two. I put them on opposite sides of the house. Now if a bad guy breaks in, he has to find three sirens and smash them (control panel siren + 2 external ones). The sirens are very loud but I live on a noisy road and it’s hard to hear the interior one from outside when traffic is going by. That’s why I discreetly mounted one siren on the outside of a window on the front of the house. The other one is mounted on the outside of a window on the side of the house. I even wrapped one in black trash bad plastic to make it less obvious it’s an alarm. You might even want to put electrical tape over the LED on the siren unit. Now you will have a system that’s very difficult to defeat. Most crooks aren’t going to want to hang around a house with 3 sirens going, not knowing it’s it’s monitored as well.
