Touch n go to heck and back.

So yesterday I had a problem with my touch n go card. I reloaded RM 50 at the lrt counter in Kelana Jaya station. Got in. Tagged and took the lrt. Exited at KLCC. No problems.

Then in the evening when I wanted to go home, I tagged my card on the machine and it says the card is rejected and i needed to check at the counter.

The guy at the counter in KLCC asked if I had the receipt of my top up transaction. I said I left it at the office. He suggested that I go back to Kelana Jaya and ask the folks over there. Had to buy a manual token for my journey first.

In Kelana Jaya, the lrt folks acknowledged that there had been a problem and asked me to go to touch n go branch in KL Sentral. If I wanted to get a refund.

Well today I went to kl sentral. Waited for my turn and explained the situation to the tng peeps. Now in cases like mine, the problem occurred because the new ticketing gates at the lrt stations are no longer provided by tng. Hence there have been recorded instances of balance being not in sync.

Under normal circumstances if a discrepancy is detected one have to fill up a form and the process to get your money refunded may take up to a month. Fortunately for me it was clear cut enough for them to offer me an immediate refund.

I had wanted to be all angry birds and be a bitch about it but fortunately the attending tng person was very cordial and professional in entertaining my queries. So i scrapped that plan and be civil as well.

She told me that in some instances usage of touch and go at certain parking outlets, double charging at komputer stations do require them some time to verify. It's part of the process. I told her, that's not really fair coz its not the customer's fault that their balance got swallowed. And to have to wait months for their balance to be returned is like fucked up. I didn't actually say fuck la.

I also asked her if she would mind paying the customer first with her own money and then get the customer to reimburse once we get our money. She laughed it off. Ironically.

Incidentally there was a lady at the next counter which demanded to see the manager when told that her balance would be refunded in a couple of months. She was barely able to keep her cool.

It's a pain. U wait for ur turn. Only to be told that it's going to take so long to get ur money back.

Anyways, the moral of the story is always keep track of ur tng balance. Keep ur receipts and try to be cordial when faced with a trying situation.

If u really think about it, we humans never can run away from making mistakes. Our entire existance on this earth started from a mistake. be it by design or cruel fate. but that is not the issue at hand.

the notion that one should go about this life exuding perfection is somewhat flawed. to err is human. and from the mistakes we are presented the opportunity to learn. the opportunity to better ourselves. we must allow people to take these opportunities, not because we want them to taste bitter failure, it is because the learning process is part and parcel of becoming human.

it has become commonplace for folks to harp on the mistakes of others no matter how minute it seemingly is. its as if all of the sudden their own past failures and mistakes are non existent. they are the judge and jury. passing sentences like its going out of fashion. if only people would realise how petty and unproductive this is.

rather than spurring someone to learn and improve, one would rather pick on the mistakes and pretty much try their bestest to ensure that the mistake is remembered and forever reminded.

sometimes we can't help ourselves from saying things that are just down right mean and negative. on the guise that we want people to be realistic and not be over confident unnecessarily. noble intentions these are not. really. it isn't.

some may not guess this but the minds of the young are fairly malleable. yes harsh words may spur them, may challenge them to be better but on the flipside it may scar and affect them negatively.

in instances where you can build them up, inspire them with positivity, within reason that is, please try to choose that option. they will have more time for negativity later.

We can't run away from our reliance on public transport. Gahmen initiatives like the MRT project will bring the coverage of trains further than what we have now.

That's great.

I'm concerned though. Parts of the mrt will go underground across kl city center. Heavy tunnel boring machines tunneling under a city.

Okay one must admit that seeing the phone and actually handling the phone are two different things. As with all android phones the difference are in the level of customization done on top of ur vanilla android experience and the quality of hardware that is the phone itself.

Samsung has done some tweaking to the android ui via their touchwiz interface. I haven't been using Samsung before but I was expecting something obtrusive to the whole android experience. It turns out this time round the customization didn't actually obscure but in fact in somewhat enhances the experience somewhat.

i was in a very unenviable position to decide whether or not i should stay and fight to save my relationhsip or to just cut my losses and leave. often love clouds ur judgement and often u do stupid things under the pretense of loving someone.

regardless of the reasons why the relationship is crumbling, u have to decide the best course of action. if both of you can come on to a consensus on what to do next, it would be much better. u both can decide to fight or say goodbye.

now if ur the one doing the leaving, i would suggest u make it abundantly clear to ur partner that nothing they can do would ever be enough to save the relationship. (then u can call ur other boyfriend to get ready la kan)

if ur the one hoping to save the relationship, u need to assess if it is all worth it or not? yes u love them but sometimes love just doesn't cut it. there are issues that needs to be addressed and u need to do a whole lotta convincing, convincing urself most, and of course ur partner too. u need to highlight to them the merits of staying in the relationship. how ur going to be what they always want u to be. how things are going to be different.

having said all that, if their hearts are no longer with u. it will often be futile la.

just let go.

mope for a bit. and then move on.

realistically, people will judge u based on ur appearance. that's the first thing they see. they won't know ur bubbly personality or positive attitude from just looking at u. hence u need to give urself a fighting chance.

the challenge is striking a balance between focussing on the exterior or the interior.

like car salesmen who uses sexy women to attract prospective buyers. u need to get them to wanna come and see the car before u can try to sell it.

now, we don't have to achieve perfection in beauty, it is subjective as they say. but don't be sabotaging urself by not taking care of urself.

ur personality will shine through, if people have the opportunity to get to know u.

its ur job to create that opportunity.

most thinking and non thinking malaysians are in agreement when it comes to subsidies. its good for the people but probably at the detriment of the long term sustainability of a country.

but this is where the agreement ends.

thinking malaysians know that subsidies as well as taxes are tools for the gahmen to manage the economy and properly allocating the resources of a nation. its not something that the gahmen does out of the goodness of their hearts. the only thing that we the rakyat should be thankful for is that the gahmen is managing the economy as how it should be managed.

nowadays, the gahmen and even to a certain extent the opposition believes that managing the economy through subsidies as a means of alleviating the burdens of low income earners. those folks who were hard done by rising petrol prices and rising food prices. but the subsidies as it stand are not really specific enough to be effective.

yes the gahmen has set up price controls and also purchase restrictions for petrol, with assistance given to farmers and fishermen but by and large the subsidies are enjoyed by all malaysians regardless of income level.

what we need is a system that is more effective than this. A system that revolves around sustainability and at the same time is specific in nature.

Lets take some time to think about that.
