Dan Radcliffe to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ on January 14th

According to a new article, Dan Radcliffe - who is finishing up his run as J. Pierrepont Finch in the hit Broadway show How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at the end of the year - is confirmed to host the late night comedy show Saturday Night Live on January 14th, 2012. Saturday Night Live has been a comedy sensation for several decades and has always been a draw for high profile actors, musicians, and other famous celebrities to play host of the show and get involved in many of the skits. Dan, who has previously stated that he would love to perform as a stand-up comedian, will have his chance to do just that. The show will be broadcasted live on Saturday, January 14th 2012 on NBC. According to a press release by Warner Brothers earlier today, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, stepped into the magical world of the UK's most anticipated visitor attraction: Warner Brothers Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter and unveiled the inclusion of one of the most iconic and beloved of all sets - Diagon Alley.

The Diagon Alley set, which will take center stage when the tour opens on March 31st, 2012, was first featured in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and features the shop fronts of Ollivanders wand shop, Flourish and Blotts, the Weasley Wizarding Wheezes joke shop, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, and Eyelops Owl Emporium where Harry Potter first met his beloved owl, Hedwig.

The Studio Tour will open its doors for the very first time to visitors on March 31st, 2012 with tickets now on sale through a pre-booking process that can only be purchased via www.wbstudiotour.co.uk or through approved tour operators. Tickets are just 28 GBP for adults, 21 GBP for children, and only 83 GBP for a family of four.

Dan Radcliffe: "It was such a magical place to grow up, people will be amazed to see the incredible sets that we've worked in all these years."

Rupert Grint added: "The sets all have tiny little details that you may not always notice in the films but when you actually walk through them, you can see all the work that's gone into it. It's really amazing."

And Emma Watson stated: "This is incredible, it's been a long time coming and I'm very excited."

MuggleNet Fan of the Week: Kelly

This weeks Fan of the Week is Kelly from the new TLC series "Geek Love". Kelly has been a MuggleNet and Harry Potter fan for a large portion of her life. When asked about trying to connect with other Harry Potter fans during her speed dating round, Kelly said this:

"Unfortunately I didn’t find many people who also liked Harry Potter in the same way I do. I was hoping that I would because then that would instantly give me a topic to talk to them about. Most people had read it or seen the movies, but didn’t like it or hate it. A few said they hated it – that was unfortunate because after that I felt like I had a hard time coming up with things to talk about. All I really wanted to ask was “How could you hate it?” and try to convince them to give it another shot. Which would have been futile, I’m sure."

New trailer for literary phenomenon ‘Switched’ – starring Natalia Tena

Switched is the first installment in The Trylle Trilogy by the self-publishing phenomenon Amanda Hocking whose eBook series took the Internet by storm in April 2010. The film adaptation, starring Natalia Tena - who portrayed Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter film series - will open in theaters on January 6th, 2012.

It's amazing what a Harry Potter fan can do with a green screen! Our next featured Song Parody of the Week comes to us from resident of YouTube Goldentusk, and on his channel, Andy has uploaded several videos in which he sings to popular theme songs. In this video he has targeted Potter.

In the video, Goldentusk sings and performs to the song we all know so well, originally composed by John Williams, and he funnily changes his tone and the general speed of his words alongside the usual pace of the song - it's pretty funny to watch.

‘Geek Love’ premieres Sunday night on TLC; features MuggleNet and ‘Potter’ fan Kelly

The Learning Channel (TLC), let's its geek flag fly with a new special show called Geek Love, which is set to premiere on Sunday night at 9:00PM EST/PT.

Dating is NEVER easy, but try dating in a Darth Vader mask or Wonder Woman ensemble. Now meet nerd-tastic Ryan Glitch, founder of Sci-Fi Speed Dating, who will bring viewers into the fun, quirky and sometimes bizarre world of geek-focused speed dating. Two half hour specials have been ordered and will air back-to-back on Sunday, December 18th on TLC.

Glitch sets up speed dating at events like Comic-Con, bringing like-minded people together to embrace their quirkiness and find love. When comic and sci-fi fans can't find someone to share their passion, they turn to Glitch. Viewers will get an insider's look at the stories behind the daters and witness their journey throughout the speed dating session at New York's Comic-Con.

MuggleNet and Harry Potter fan, Kelly, will be featured as one of the individuals looking for 'Geek Love.' MuggleNet has been given exclusive access, and we will share her interview with you on Sunday.
