We were at my sister Carol’s place weekend of last week where I took this photo of a Sunflower in their neighbor’s front yard. The Sunflowers are so huge compared to the ones we have in my former workplace. Wish I could plant Sunflower in our future yard and it will surely brighten up every one’s mood with the bright YELLOW color of the flower.

I don’t mean to be rude but I must admit, I was never a happy customer of DCWD in terms of their services. The quality of their water is good but services is so poor. When we are still living somewhere in north where water interruption lasts for days up to a week numerous times in a year and when I called them to know the reason of the interruption, “the pump broke”. Pump being broken countless times in a year? That’s ridiculous! Why not install a pump that is of HIGH QUALITY and implement PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE from time to time? Poor planning and implementation. If this kind of service will continue, I might need a treatment for hair loss soon because they never fail to stress me out and that stress will cause hair fall in the long run.

I think DCWD is adapting to the government’s motto: SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, THIS IS WHERE YOUR TAXES GO.

I’m getting a dose of laugh trip everyday since we got back our TV from the service center. I religiously watch Showtime because I love Vice Ganda a lot! I like his punchlines so much and it never fail to tickle me and I can’t help but giggle (I cannot just laugh too loudly because the neighbors might wonder if I am ok or not.LOL). Wish Ace and I could watch it together so I don’t need to control my laughter.hahaha. This daily dose of laugh trip is really helpful especially that I am not physically interacting with people lately. It will help me spare from anti wrinkle eye cream or any other antri-wrinkle cream that I would need in the future. I just wish DLPC won’t schedule the rotating brownout during Showtime’s airtime so I could watch daily.

Isn’t she so gorgeous? Everybody was surprised and awed to see Gizelle looking so slim and beautiful in her wedding gown. I said surprised because she was a little chubby before. She was actually tall with a big built that made her look like a big woman. Days before the wedding, I was surprised to see her so slim and she happily said she trimmed down for the wedding. I don’t know how she did it but being a nurse, I am sure she opted for a natural weight loss formula instead of the synthetic ones. I must say, she did lost weight beautifully! What a sweet success to her.

Now I am already sleepy. But before I go to bed and get some snooze, I’d better unload my bladder. Though I don’t need incontinence products this time (and I hope I will never be unless I would be too old), I have to unload so I could sleep straight. Hafta go and get some snooze before the sun rises.

Since I rarely get enough sleep, my eyebags are getting bigger (I suppose) and I might need the best eye cream for the dark circles and fine lines. Maybe I’d go back to my teabag compress to lighten the dark circle but definitely it won’t minimize fine lines. That would be done when I am not busy so I could just lie down for hours with a teabag above my eyes.

Anyway, here’s where we have been for the past years….

Isla Reta Beach Resort in Talicud Island. We love this resort because whether it’s high tide or low tide, there’s water in the beach unlike the beaches in Samal Island especially the part of the island facing Davao City.

Isla Reta II in Talicud Island. The place is underdeveloped but this is heaven! The waves, the sand, the cool water. Not much people are going in here because it’s not that accessible to public transportation.

Canibad Beach cove in Samal Island. I love the long stretch of pebbles in this beach. Also, this is underdeveloped that you cannot find a decent cottage to rent in. If you want to spend overnight, bring your tent or just sleep in the sand.

Paradise Island Park and Beach Resort in Samal Island. We’ve been here many times and we spent New Year here. This resort is overrated (to some) but we love the food, services and facilities.

Chema’s by the Sea. Still in Samal Island. This is perfect for weekend getaway if you want to just relax because this is not a crowded beach resort unlike Paradise and other neighboring resorts. It’s a bit pricey though but it’s worth every penny.

Bluejaz Resort and Waterpark. We’re just curious about their gigantic slide that’s why we tried it. The park is spacious but the beach isn’t.

We’ve been to other beaches also like Blue Waters and Costa Marina but we don’t have a camera that time. This summer, we’re undecided yet. I wanted to try other resorts but half of me is saying “no” because we might be disappointed. There’s a lot more resorts in Samal and Talicud but we are so comfortable in Paradise and Isla Reta. If budget will allow, it’s nice to be back in Chema’s and rent a cottage overlooking the beach. It would be great if there’s Outer Banks rentals in the islands of Samal or Talicud so we could just rent one and go beach hopping for days. I’m sure that would be a LOT of fun!

Ace’ eyes were pinned in the TV the other Sunday during Pilipinas Got Talent’s airtime but we didn’t see Ezra perform so I told Ace maybe it was already aired weeks before. Ace, who has an ear and heart for music must have moved by the band’s performance during the wedding that he wanted to see the episode when Ezra band performed on stage of Pilipinas Got Talent. I was even instructed to watch the daily episode of Pilipinas Got More Talent hoping that Ezra’s performance will be featured. I’ve watched every episode from Monday till Friday but no Ezra Band being featured.

Last Sunday, I was half-watching half-fb’ing when I heard “Davao del Sur” being mentioned. I shifted my full attention to the TV and Ace blurted “Ezra Band” upon seeing the participants going to the center stage. As expected, all eyes on TV for the whole duration of their performance. Ace even sat too close to the TV.LOL.

Aren’t they talented? I admire the keyboardist a lot for even if he is differently abled, he can play very well. I have complete set of hands and yet I don’t even know how to play a single musical instrument.*sigh*. Anyway, I am just posting this because I am not yet over with them. I want to see more of Ezra Band!

Anyway, here’s our babies….

Meet the prim and proper Maya (second generation of our original dog named Maya). She was given to Ace (from the troop of dogs that my folks have in my hometown) in January 2004. She was 4 months then, I think.

Then here’s super brave Puto. He is half stray dog and half I don’t know. Japanese Spitz maybe. He was given to Ace April of 2005 March of 2006.

Those two dogs were sent here to Davao and given to Ace because my late Mamang (yes, she’s the one who sent those dogs here) sees a “brighter future” for these dogs under our care. Since these dogs are stray, they aren’t that given much care and attention from where they came from especially that there are battalion of dogs in my grandparents’ place.

After more than couple of years of trying, Maya finally conceived last year and bore 5 pups for the first time but only one survived and we called him Thirdie (the 3rd generation of Maya). Thirdie got his built from Puto and coat from Maya.

So those are our dogs and we still have one pet. A stray orange tabby cat we named KiawKiaw. We found KiawKiaw in the street January of 2007 and invited himself to be adopted.LOL. This cat is a big eater of his cat food and he seems not to get enough. Always asking for food!

That’s our troop of “babies”. I wonder how long will they stay with us. I just hope they’ll be with us until they grow old.

Will we be given with the same number of real babies soon? If yes, then we would probably need bunch of life insurance quotes at Wholesale prices and save for that thing. Since we’re still waiting for that time, then we will just enjoy the company of our pets.
