Last week, the mighty Canadian Hockey team (not “Ice Hockey” as Amuricans call it, but just Hockey) triumphed over the US and ended the miracle. Many Canadians tuned in to watch the game and their viewing habits appeared in Edmonton’s water consumption.

…that’s a lot of toilets flushing during intermission…

Check out this great grandfather’s clock that I found at Value Village. The best part about it is that the weight and pendulum are nonfunctional and purely cosmetic. It also has a great feature in that it doesn’t make any noise.

Repurposing a Darth Vader Trick or Treat Bucket

I found this Darth Vader trick or treat bucket in the discount bin at my local zellers. I immediately thought, “Wow that would look great with a snake plant coming out of the top.” I proceeded home and transplanted one of my snake plants into the repurposed bucket. It now is a proud member of my living room.

Makerbot’s “Cupcake” is the most exciting product making headlines in this year’s CES. 3D CNC printers used to be almost exclusively found in engineering labs, and were definitely not commonplace for the at home DIY enthusiast. With the Makerbot, it is now possible for someone with an extra $750* burning a hole in their pocket to purchase a kit to make a 3D printer.

A neat part about this project is that there is an online community that shares data for objects.
