“Today’s economy is not doing well”…

Downsizing and rising prices from food to fuel is costing everyone more money. The only way some can catch up on their bills is to buy and sell cars. However, there are a few things you need to know about this business before you get yourself into hot water.

Buying and selling cars have been around for a long time. It’s where used car dealership originated from in the early 1960s. They started out buying a car, fixing it up, and then reselling it for a profit. They got so good at it they needed more room and started a dealership. People have been doing it since the beginning of cars. Today, it’s a great business to have and to be able to do from home. You don’t need a lot of money to start buying and selling cars. All you need is the cash for the first car. Use the profit from that car to buy the next and so on and so on…

Many people do it on the side to help pay some of their bills since the economy is so bad and prices are going up. They build up a good reputation for having cars that don’t require work for the first year or so. That helps them sell more cars because people will recommend them to others who are looking for a good used car. That’s how you build your business.

If you have an Internet website, you can sell even more cars and build your business faster. A website will have all the cars you have, plus, the prices and the work you did on them. The buyer will know exactly what they are buying. You should have pictures, descriptions and images of what you did to the car. It helps to sell the car and gives your business a good reputation.

The best part is you can run your used car business right out of your house. You don’t need the big overhead of a dealership lot. Of course, you will need enough space for hold the car until it’s sold. You might even need a mechanic if you’re not knowledgeable about fixing cars. You and a mechanic can make a lot of money buying and selling cars. Cars sometimes don’t need a lot of work, just a couple hundred dollars’ worth and they are good, solid used car buyers can use for a reliable car.

If you want to know more about the car you can contact CarFax to find out about the car. They give you a detailed vehicle history report on the car.; just enter the VIN number to get a full report. Buying and selling cars is a quick way to make some extra cash to help you out in these trying times.

Limo services provide you with all the luxury to help make a celebration memorable, and you can hire them for almost any occasion that you want. There are many organizations or firms that offer limousines for hire thus you should choose them wisely. There are some points to consider while looking for these limousines.

These points include the quality of vehicle that a company has, their prices, mode of payment and if they offer any discount rates. You should research on the available companies and then compare them to know the one that has the best deal. It is important to read the rental details for the vehicle before signing.

This helps you to understand what you are getting in to, and you can even consult your lawyer for advice. Purchasing of limousines can be very expensive and thus not affordable to most of the people. The limousine rental firms have made it affordable for people to enjoy the luxury that the vehicle offers.

There has been an increased demand for limousine services, and this has led to the emergence of many firms that offer these services. This in return has led to an increased competition in the business; thus, the owners should implement effective marketing skills. They should advertise about their business through the local magazine, newspapers, online directories and setting up websites.

The use of limousines offers a comfy and luxurious travel thus it is highly advisable to use them for traveling. They are known to charge on an hourly basis, which is advantageous than using taxis which charge using the mileage covered. Limousines have their own drivers that you do not have to deal with any driving problem and even looking for parking spaces.

This makes work easy for people who are using limousines to travel and some companies also offer recreation facilities in the limousines. Limousines give a beautiful entrance to parties and attract attention since it is a form of arriving in style. You should make sure the condition of the vehicle checked by technicians to avoid any unnecessary repair costs.

The owner of the firms should ensure that all their limousines are in a perfect condition so as to maintain the reputation of the company. They can also offer incentives so that they can attract many people to their business. The owners should employ managers with good management and financial skills.

They should ensure that their limousine business is registered legally and have a license from the state law. They should employ drivers who are skilled at their work and have great communication skills since they interact with the clients often. Limousines help to save time since they will always wait for you in the place that you request.

Limo services have been known to be used by rich people, but it is not true since they are readily offered at fair prices nowadays. You must always budget for the occasions that you want to use limousines and determine the firm that meets your budget. You should book for the limousine services early enough so as to avoid any complications when it comes to traveling.

Roof racks are a great way to carry the big, bulky items that take up too much room inside your vehicle. However, they are not designed to carry heavy weights, and if you do this you are likely to damage your vehicle and risk a serious accident. Most four wheel drives will only carry a maximum of 100kg on the roof racks. Some full length steel racks weigh around 50kg, and as a result your carrying capacity is drastically reduced. A few jerry cans and you are already looking at being over the limit. It is important to ensure that the total weight on your roof does not exceed what the manufacturer states as being the maximum.

Not all racks weigh 50kg; many don’t weigh more than 15kg. However, it does depend on the design and materials used. What is just as important as checking the maximum load your roof is designed to take, is looking at what your roof racks will carry. Some roof racks are only designed to carry 30kg each, and again these can easily be overloaded. Take note of what conditions the racks are designed to operate in as well. I have seen numerous roof racks that state ‘not for off-road’ use. If you get a set like this, put a few jerry cans up top and then travel on gravel, sand or other bumpy roads you risk damaging the racks, losing your load or damaging the roof of your vehicle.

Its all too common to see people either loading their roof racks up with more gear than what should be carried, or loading their roof’s up with more than what should be carried. Again, keep the heavy stuff inside your vehicle, and the big, bulky stuff on the racks. By doing this, you ensure that the centre of gravity is kept low, and this makes the car more stable. When you are four wheel driving, this is of extreme importance. Even when you are on the road it is much safer to have a lower centre of gravity.

The primary reason that roof racks are rated for different weights is their design and the material that is used. You will find that plastic racks generally won’t be able to carry as much as weight as steel or aluminum. Aluminum is lighter than steel, which is helpful if you want to carry heavier loads up top (again, I don’t recommend this!)

Find out more about Roof Racks, and consider what you need to think about when picking a four wheel drive.

Selling your used car is not as simple as finding a buyer and signing a contract. There are several steps to follow in order to ensure that the selling process runs smoothly and your used car goes into the hands of a suitable owner. For your part, you should also make sure that you are able to sell your vehicle at a good price. In this article we share some tips on how to sell your used car.

Determine the market price

The first thing you have to do when you are about to sell your car is to determine its current market price. There are many ways to do this, but the fastest one is to check online adverts and see if your car model is high in demand or not and at what price. It can also help to visit car dealer websites and see how much they price their second hand cars.

You can also check newspaper classifieds and see how much car sellers are asking for their used cars. But do note to check the adverts featuring vehicles that are similar to the one you’re about to sell. Read how detailed they are in describing their car’s condition, age and mileage. These are the factors that can help you gauge your car’s selling price.

Know your potential buyer

Your potential buyer will most likely be based on the type of used car you own. If it’s a sports car or convertible, chances are your potential buyers are single men. But if it’s a sedan or van, then suburban families will be your likely customers. Once you have determined this, you now have an idea where you can place your advert and how to write it.

This can also help you determine the best time to put your used car in the market. For convertibles, it would be best to sell these during the summer when the weather is warm while family sedans can be sold all-year round since it can be used any time of the year.

Give your used car a makeover

Purchasing your used car can be a significant investment on the part of your potential buyer, so you owe it to them to have the car in tip top shape. Before selling your car have it thoroughly cleaned inside and out. If there are a lot of unwanted personal items inside, make sure you discard them so that your car can give a good first impression and the new owner won’t accidentally take your belongings.

Also inspect your used car if there are dents, thinning paint and other things that have to be repaired. If so, bring them to a mechanic to have it fixed. This is important because it will also increase your car’s marketability.

Also prepare your vehicle’s history report as your potential buyer may ask for it to assure themselves that the car was well taken care of. If they request to have their own mechanic inspect the car, then don’t deny them this chance. This can assure your buyer that your used car is a worthwhile investment.

Create a catchy advertisement

Now that your car is ready for its new owner, it’s time to advertise! Create an advert which you can post online or in newspapers. Include all the necessary details which will make people want to call you to enquire. Don’t forget to put your contact number or email so that they can reach you.

There are many more ways to advertise your used car and spread the word that it’s up for sale. You can post your advert on your social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, gumtree or general car sale websites of which there are several in Australia. You can also inform your friends that you are selling your used car so that they can tell their friends who might be interested to buy.

Meet with potential customers

Once you’ve posted your advert, be ready to answer calls or enquiries from potential customers. If possible, make sure that you don’t miss any calls or if you do, ring them back right away. Once you determine that they are really serious about buying a used car, arrange an appointment with them.

When is the best time to negotiate? Typically this would be after they see the car and have taken it for a test drive. Your potential buyer will most likely know the starting price, so they will start the negotiation when they are ready. Keep in mind the value of your car and don’t accept a price which is much lower than what you are asking for. Don’t be pressured to sell the car right away. Always remember that there are other people who might be interested in your used car.

Allow them to test drive

There may be buyers who want to test drive the car to see if it’s really a good investment. Allow them this chance because they might want to envision themselves owning your vehicle. It will also give them the opportunity to see if the car is in good running condition. Once they are assured of your car’s condition, it will now be easier to convince them to buy it.

Finalise the sale

Once you find the right buyer, arrange for the car payment. It’s up to you if you prefer it in cash, cheque, bank transfer or a series of instalments. Then, use the appropriate form provided by your states transport authority to transfer the ownership to your buyer.

Selling a used car won’t be as hard as it may seem if you are well-informed about the market-place and you follow the steps above.

Great design can either make or break a vehicle brand and nobody understands that better than the top dogs at Hyundai. When first stepping onto the local South African scene the Korean automaker’s focus was very much on undercutting rivals on price while still matching them on reliability and offering a great ‘value for money’ vehicle. Today their focus has shifted to technology and design in a bold move to make its products more desirable. And the evolution’s worked.

Hyundai’s slogan, ‘New Thinking. New Possibilities.’ echoes the brand’s approach to offer people a Modern Premium vehicle. What does this mean? That a car doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive or packed with every possible feature to be desirable and accessible to the masses. Casey Hyun, Creative Design Manager at Hyundai explains, “Modern Premium is about giving the customers value that goes beyond things such as cost. It is about giving people a sense of belonging to the brand, giving satisfaction that’s greater than what a long warranty or cost savings can give.” He goes on to say that people want to drive a car that gets noticed and isn’t just recognised for being fuel-efficient or eco-friendly. This brings us to Hyundai today.

Part of Hyundai’s evolution was establishing its new Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy. Where did it all start? At the beginning, which in auto terms of course refers to the concept phase. When designing concept cars Hyundai focuses mainly on quality, originality, sustainability and customer needs, which allow both New Thinking and New Possibilities to emerge.

It was at the ix-onic’s concept stage that Hyundai first incorporated its Fluidic Design language. This unique design philosophy draws inspiration from contrasts and harmony in nature, for example the curves of a sand dune set against the rigid surface of a landscape. The biggest challenge for Hyundai was to transform a conceptual drawing into a practical design. And it was with passion and hard work from a dedicated team that the concept ix-onic eventually became the showroom Hyundai ix35.

The new ix35 was designed to let you enjoy lower CO2 emissions and less wind resistance without having to sacrifice style. And nothing captures the essence of Hyundai’s new design ethos better – balancing beauty and efficiency. This can be seen in all the latest Hyundai models including the i10, i20, i30, Accent and Elantra along with Hyundai’s recognizable hexagonal grille proudly displaying the brand’s logo. One can only wonder and look forward to what other New Possibilities Hyundai’s New Thinking philosophy will bring.

The author occasionally writes Hyundai commentary for a top South African Hyundai dealership in Johannesburg. This includes the latest design and production news for Hyundai vehicles using the Fluidic Design Philosophy such as the ix35.

If you’re building a business of flipping cars you need to know the lingo and the tools. If you fix the car yourself the proper tools will make it easier to get them up and running to sell even sooner. You don’t really need to be a mechanic but you will need some knowledge about how to do certain basic repairs on a car.

Flipping cars can be easy or hard. It depends on the type of cars you’re buying and selling. You want to buy cars that don’t need a lot of work, but they will most likely need minor repairs. People want cars that are nice and shiny and reliable. The little scratches and dents will make a difference in the profit for the car. If you can clean them up, then you can add 200 to 300 dollars to the car when you sell it.

You need some of the following if you’re doing the work yourself.

· Hammer toolkit – 50.00

· Sanding blocks – 25.00

· Welding dent puller – $250.00

· Sandpaper – most common are 80 to 2,000 grit

You’ll also need these Auto Body Tools

· Air Compressor

· Dual Action Orbital Sander – $130.00 For a good one.

· Straight Sander – $200.00

· Spray Gun

These are the tools for dents and large scratches. Sometimes that’s all that needs to be repaired on a car to add another $550 to the selling price. As you build your car flipping business you can use some of the profit to buy these, so you don’t have to take them to a body shop. The labor alone can eat up your profits. If you do it yourself, then you can add more to the selling price.

You need a Trade-In Value report (how much the car is worth to a professional dealership) and a Private Party Value report (how much the car can sell for in a private sale). In most cases the Private Party Value is 20%-30% higher than the Trade-In Value. Kelly Blue Book and Nada Guide are good resources to find out the current prices for cars. You can also use craigslist.org to find what others are selling cars for or what they are asking in your area. If you spend all as much money to repair the car than it will sell for, then it will take you a long time to build your business. Doing most of the work yourself will save you on auto body repair costs and allow you to add more to the selling price.

If you are someone who regularly struggles to fit all of your gear into the car, there is a good chance that you will appreciate a set of roof racks. Roof Racks are great for a number of different purposes, whether that be lugging a long piece of timber, or carrying a few swags. Roof Racks come in a number of different shapes and mounting options, and you need to pick something that is going to suit your application. Whatever you choose, its important to consider what they are being used for. Most vehicles will have a maximum (and this is on the high end of the scale) of around 100kg. You can’t legally carry more than this on your roof, and this has to include the weight of the rack

Roof Racks are designed to carry bulky, but light weight items. Remember that the bulkier the item, the worse your fuel economy is going to be. However, if it means that you can take the item with you as a pose to leaving it at home most people will pay the extra fuel. It can help to fit a wind deflector, but it depends on the racks that are fitted. The primary benefit of racks is the additional storage that you gain. However, they can be used for mounting spotlights, work lights and general fairy lights if that is what you choose to do.

Most racks can be removed during periods that you don’t use them (most people don’t use them in between holidays) and this will save you a reasonable amount of fuel (usually in the realms of 1.5 – 3 litres per hundred kilometers). It pays to remove them where practical, but sometimes they are just too difficult to get off and on regularly. One of the major advantages of a roof rack is you have the option of fitting a roof top tent. These are great for setting up camp quickly, and they get you off the ground and away from the insects and other animals. When looking to purchase roof bars, think about what you are going to carry on top, how much room you will need, how high they sit and the price. The well known brands are popular for a reason, and believe me there are some terrible quality roof bars, baskets and racks around. If you get something that is poor quality you need to expect to have to replace it sooner than later!

Industrial equipment auctions often play an important part in today’s business world and can be a lucrative way for both buyers and sellers to conduct business. It may be critical for some companies trying to keep their heads above water in tough financial times to quickly sell a vehicle no longer needed to obtain operating money. Then another company may need to purchase a high-quality, used vehicle to replace a non-working one to stay in business. Whatever the case may be, a modern-day bidding experience can be very different from what may be envisioned.

Differences

The main difference between a stereotypical auction and a typical heavy equipment auction is that the latter usually involves a seller expecting a certain return even when needing to move machinery quickly. There are deals to be found and selling prices are nowhere near the purchase price of brand new ones; however, this sales venue is much more than just a discount sale but more of a gathering of the right buyers and sellers in the same place and at the same time, making the entire process easier for everyone. Some units will sell for slightly less than book value; however, there are lower costs with this method, so it all evens out in the end.

Convenience

Whether it is a private sale at the seller’s facility; a public event with multiple vendor; or an online event, the biggest appeal of this type of venue is convenience and selection. Auction houses that specialize in industrial equipment understand both sides of the coin – not just the needs of the sellers but the needs of buyers as well. While the highest bidder still wins the item – these events are somewhat different in terms of scheduling, advertising and execution.

Selection

A key to the successful turnover of heavy equipment is in the auction company selected; it should be one that specializes in industrial machinery. Such companies are knowledgeable about pricing, current market trends and which specific units will sell – or not. With such knowledge, it can be strategically planned when to schedule a sale based on the current market as well as deciding which units to include or to hold onto until the next sale and better market conditions.

Advertising

It is imperative that advertising be directed to the right audience and through the right channels to achieve a successful heavy equipment auction. Unlike a local sale where ads are generally placed in community newspapers and fliers sent to local businesses, specialized sales and online events need to use other means of marketing to reach their targeted audience. The internet is irreplaceable in terms of marketing upcoming events; it is now possible to put detailed information online about units being sold for review by potential buyers. Auction companies that regularly deal with these type of sales know which online and offline publications as well as social media sites can advertise and reach the right audiences.

The first place that many buyers turn to for the purchase of industrial machinery and vehicles is an auction. A company that is liquidating assets or simply wanting to lighten any financial obligations a little will achieve favorable results by using a reputable and knowledgeable auctioneer in the ever-changing industrial equipment climate!

Christopher M. Hunter is an expert in the auctioning of industrial equipment.

After purchasing a vehicle, you want to make sure it retains a good appearance and potential resale value. Getting a car cover is the most cost efficient way to protect your car’s value. It will prevent your car from getting damaged by environmental elements and serves as a deterrent for thieves.

When you drive and park the automobile everyday, it increases the chances that outdoor factors will ruin the appearance. During the summer, the intense heat and sunlight can ruin the automobile’s paint job. The paint will start to fade more quickly. The sun will also cause the interior of the automobile to overheat. The heat can damage the materials inside the automobile. A car cover will prevent the automobile from getting direct sun exposure and keep the interior of the vehicle from deteriorating.

To avoid the sun, some people choose to park their automobile under a tree. Unfortunately, trees can also be the source of damage to the car. When sap falls from the tree, it can inflict permanent damage on your paint job. Bird droppings, pine corns, acorns, and branches also fall from the tree. All of those things can either ruin the appearance of the vehicle or put dents on the exterior.

Weather during the fall and winter can pose additional hazards to your vehicle. Moisture from the rain can seep into any existing cracks in the exterior. The paint starts to push apart from the metal and blemishes become exposed. Moisture from the ice and snow during the winter produces similar damage. Corrosion starts to develop and the metal in the car deteriorates.

Protecting the vehicle from theft is a priority. Car alarms, steering wheel locks, and kill switches are a few of the devices used to keep vehicles from being stolen. A car cover serves as another security measure. Thieves are less likely to target a vehicle that is covered. Thieves want to be able to quickly get inside a car and drive off. When a covering has to be removed, the thief’s activity is more conspicuous. Some covers also come with a lock kit to keep the covering attached to the vehicle.

Car covers are a valuable accessory to own. Your vehicle will be able to maintain its appearance for a longer period of time. You will also save time and money by reducing how often the vehicle needs to be washed and repaired. Ready fit and customized coverings are available.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock it’s probably safe to say you’ve seen the advertisements explaining how much money you can save by taking advantage of car insurance discounts. One of the more intriguing discounts is the one offered for students with good grades. Here’s how it works:

Let’s just say you have a high school or college student being covered under your policy. If that student consistently maintains good grades you might be eligible for a good student discount on your car insurance. Even if you’re already getting cheap car insurance, your price could go lower if your students do well in school. Curious as to why? Keep reading for the complete explanation.

It’s All in the Numbers

Despite what you might believe about insurance rates, they are not set arbitrarily by business executives in custom tailored suits. They are determined using a complicated mathematical formula which takes into account dozens of different criteria. Many of the criteria used are gleaned from national statistics regarding drivers, accidents, and violations. In fact, it is the use of statistical analysis which has made it possible for insurance companies to come up with accurate rates for each individual driver.

When it comes to auto insurance quotes it’s not uncommon to find discounts for student drivers with good grades because of the favorable statistics involved. In other words, statistics show that high school and college students, as a group, have fewer accidents and violations than their peers who are no longer in school. Taking that one step further, those with good grades have even fewer accidents and violations. Though the statistics don’t say why, there are some common sense theories that may offer a reasonable explanation.

It’s assumed by insurance company actuaries that students with good grades are more responsible in most areas of their lives. This would include driving. The assumption being that a student who applies himself diligently in school is the same type of person who will be careful on the road; careful to pay attention, careful to be safe, and so on. While this isn’t always the case 100% of the time, the statistics don’t lie. Students with good grades do better behind the wheel.

A Win-Win for Both

By offering a discount for students with good grades, both insurance company and policyholder come out winners. The insurance company is able to offer the cheapest car insurance possible to parents knowing that their children are statistically less likely to have an accident. That encourages safe driving among students and reduces the risk for the insurance company. For the parent’s part, they get lower annual premiums while still keeping their students covered.

If you’re a parent with students at home you should definitely ask your car insurance company about discounts for good grades. If they don’t offer such discounts you are free to compare car insurance quotes from their competitors. As long as your student is doing well, why not take advantage of it?
