There are times when you are hit by ideas and you say to the clouds of imagination,…”Come back tomorrow” …

This is one of the biggest traps one can fall into… although time is the best cure but if you delay actions which should be performed today , you take a risk of delaying the act forever…

With this time, one can fall into doubts and can subsequently loose motivation for action…

So always remember, if you are struck by a good idea, note it down, ACT ON IT now otherwise remember, the cycle of “later” ends only with the full stop to yourself!

This blog was also an idea i had only yesterday, What hit me was ” Why not start writing brief,action-oriented posts frequently so as to connect problems with solutions giving rise to a new leadership”

It should be noted that the PS-link (Problem Solution link) is the key to leadership and so, this is an idea whose idea whose time has come…!

So why not ACT NOW?!

Today marked the end of a two-day long flood relief fund-raising campaign organised by university students supported by Lok Sanjh Foundation. These are some of the observations gathered from the enlightening experience…

1. All classes of our society feel pain from the sufferings around us and the need to help others.During the campaign, people from different backgrounds: young,old,families,poor,middle-class and the rich contributed generously.

2. The public has lost trust in the poli-tric-ians (poli-tricks = exploiting the affairs of the people) and see them as beacons of corruption and evils prevalent in the society. With every note, the people advised us not to give the money to any organisation or govt. and insisted on the importance of first-hand relief to… the effectees.

3. People trust neither the govt. nor the NGOs. Wile collecting donations, a foreigner seated in a Mercedes hurled abuses at the govt. and related politrical funds and then gave us a respectable sum of money as donation.Similarly, people from different backgrounds reiterated the fact that both the govt. and the NGOs are responsible for blackmailing the people through emotions and then escaping in the darkness with publicly donated money.

4. The importance of youth was publicly highlighted as people smiled and appreciated each footstep taken by our unwavering youth towards collecting donations for the flood victims in the short-term and a leading, responsible role taken by them to take care of the affairs of the people in the long term. The smiles and comments of appreciation coupled with love, and trust reminded us that there is hope in the public for a bright future. If the govt. does not fulfill its responsibilities then why should the people suffer for their incompetence. A new leadership is rising on the horizon with the support of the people and blessings from above.

5. “Even a penny counts.” A poor man was surprised when we asked him for donation of even one rupee. The already troubled man brightened up and donated two rupees proudly. We saw coins summing up to hundreds, hundreds amounting to thousands and thousands leading to hundred thousands in merely 20 hours. Even if one doesn’t donate but even thinks about the cause and passes a smile of appreciation, it is the thought that counts.

6. “Every second counts”. The importance of time was realised as we saw people rushing forward to donate money and the volunteers responding swiftly as traffic signals opened and closed in fixed amounts of time. A donation couldve been missed just by the margin of a second.

7. The campaign revealed the concealed humanity of law-enforcement agencies and their resentment in following orders from incompetent and incapable chain of hierarchical institutional structures. We saw police donating money for the victims, traffic police managing traffic in favor of maximum collection of donations and inspectors caring by opening doors for mere youth working for a noble cause.

8. Nothing is impossible, it only takes some time to make it possible…

The bright lights, tall buildings, hustle and bustle of life around us distracts us from the more important things happening every second and every moment begging to be noticed and paid attention to, but instead we often tend to be more absorbed in the glamour and glitter of our surroundings. When man forgets his purpose of life, and in-built quest hijacks him and drives him to get the most of everything often to attend some material value may it be the attractions of youth or the thirst for money and power which is a circular journey. Going round and round, makes us realise that we don’t want to go in circles and we mostly come to the same conclusion that we were standing at the solution yet again. The solution was there before the start of the journey but we get attracted to short-term benefit rather than the long-term which drive us to continue our never-ending circular track.

I can still recall a man who was broke, his life experiences had taught him a good lesson the harder way. It had taught him to think long-term rather than the short, it had taught him to look through the hawk-view rather than the normal , it had enforced that material is nothing as it encourages man to want more exponentially distracting him from the more important issues that give him satisfaction rather than just temporary happiness. Compare the satisfaction attained after getting your hands on 100$ with helping an extremely poor and helpless man. Thus, it should be stressed that our choices lead us to where we are today and the short-term element in our decisions when magnified have the tendency to enlarge the problems that are challenging us every second.

The disease of nationalism and tribalism has promoted the limited view that destroys us in the long-term. If we consider the entire world as our home, the global issues happening become important to us. The problems of humanity becomes our problems and our decisions and choices tend to start finding the solutions to these irregularities as each one of us, wants our home to look clean and free from errors. But the NT(nationalism-tribalism), has encouraged us to limit our home to a specific country, a specific city, a specific neighborhood and a specific location. We often tend to become proud of land when there is no role of us, in being born on that land. Thus, the crisis in NWFP and the tribal areas in Pakistan become an issue to be gossiped about but not an issue to be seriously resolved. We sit in the drawing rooms, defending our views and opinions saying nothing is wrong with cleaning the dirt destroying some areas a few miles away as long as our homes are left alone. But if we start considering the people throughout the world as our brothers, we would come to the conclusion that we are being hurt every second. Imagine a person, slapping you after every minute, would you get annoyed after an hour when you’ve been slapped 60 times. Would you wait for a day to pass when you’ve been slapped 720 times or would you still ignore the slapping and live your life in a normal way? If you are a sane man, you would definitely do something to stop this nuisance so that you could live in peace. Now, ask a friend to slap you the same number of times as the number of humans killed in a day. Can you bear that amount of slapping or would you still live with it?

Every society consists of three segments of people. The first segment is the “trend-setters”, the second are the “trend-resistors” and the third are the “followers”. The followers flow with whatever trend is set by the trend-setters and the resistors resist the trend no matter what it may be. But there is a special transformation that transforms the trend-resistors to trend-setters in a unique way. The society is stabilized by the alliance of the setters and the followers. If the followers start aligning with the resistors, the trend-resistors eventually become the trend-setters and so a revolution happens by this switching of roles. Although this process takes time, it is required for the long-term benefit of the society. But in short-term, one would definitely say that aligning with the wrongdoer who is the current trend-setter is more beneficial than the latter, in the long-run he would be on the loosing side for truth always prevails.

It is a harsh reality that today; the trend-setters throughout the world are setting the wrong trends. Such trends are set for the attainment of material benefits with the aim of exploiting rather than caring. Thus, a new set of individuals came into being. These were the politricians. These were the people who would act as the leaders may it be in uniform or civil dress. They defined politricks as “exploiting the affairs of the people” and identified politricks as their sole purpose of life. These politricians started fooling the emotions of the followers and oppressing the trend-resistors. There has always been a tussle between the setters and the resistors and this tussle often engulfs the followers raising a dangerous mixture for revolution as defined above through the transformation theory. Thus, the politricians came with a plan. They started oppressing the tren-setters and to keep the followers ignorant of this struggle, they black-mailed them through artificial crises which would often confuse the masses and would leave them in a state that would benefit the setters in the long-run. As a last barrier, the setters sugar-coated their acts as politics rather than politricks and gave them the name of politicians meaning the leaders of the society. Thus, politricks started disrupting the human behavior bringing chaos and destruction.

But what exactly is a leader and what does politics mean? Well, in every society there are problems and the person or group who leads the society to the solution becomes the leader. Thus, a leader is an individual possessing the PS (Problem-Solution) link. Politics actually means “taking care of the affairs of the people” and the notorious meaning which i term as politricks is “exploiting the affairs of the people”. Politics was a respectable field in the earlier times when the prophets were politicians. The society would bring their problems to the prophets who would give them the solutions to every problem bringing harmony and peace to the society. But now, politics has been hijacked by the politricians as the trend-setters and the actual politicians as the trend-resistors. The tussle is going on and is increasing day by day.

All of us are being slapped every second and the red cheeks are asking us, would we remain indifferent to the pain erupting in our face. Our brothers and sisters are being killed, tortured and harassed throughout the world. Will we remain silent? Will we remain indifferent? What if she was your mother who was killed in Palestine only a few moments ago? What if it was your brother who was being tortured in Guantanamo? What if it was your sister who was being raped in Kashmir? What if it was your father humiliated and forced to kill your son? What if it was you being tortured in your home by having not the means of saving your loved ones and instead you were being faced by distractions throwing false promises of success?

Would you still go out with friends for “sight-seeing” ? Would you still throw away your money at McDonalds just to throw some high quality shi* in the toilet? Would you still watch movies in the cinema just to rub your eyes who ask for more? Would you still live your life as if nothing happens or would you pause for a moment, look at the friend sitting next to you, and before the next slap , say “Enough with the slaps, i get it…”

If we get it, then its time to rise up and bring a transformation in our society. We have felt enough pain and hardships and its time to say NO TO VIOLENCE and say NO TO SILENCE. The world is not a bad place due to the evil done by the bad but due to the silence of the good. In this world of deceit, speaking the truth is revolutionary. We must rise up and resist the evil desires of the politricians and the fake leaders and the fraud system of politricks. The time has come for us to become the new leaders for they are the present and we are the future. It is time to do what the prophets did.. STAND UP AND SAY “WE FEAR NO ONE BUT GOD AND WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE GOOD DOMINATES THE EVIL FOR GOOD IS BOUND TO BE VICTORIOUS”..

The question is.. are we willing to do so or are we waiting for the next slap… beware, here it comes…!!

So, ACT NOW by working for change within the society … ACT NOW!
