Have you “burned your boats”?

In other words, have you totally committed to being successful
in 2010?

In case you don’t know what I am referring to, here is a
rough outline of the story…..

Hernando Cortez discovered Mexico and the Yucatan
Pennisula in 1519. He set out on this quest from Cuba and
discovered the ULTIMATE treasure of gold beyond any
riches ever seen before.

Upon arriving to the shores, he had his men “burn the boats”…
all 11 of them.

His men now had no way home, subsequently they were

very motivated to move towards their goal. Because retreat was
no longer an option – the were now fully committed!!

As I said, they discovered some of the greatest treasures
known to man.

You see, when you are fully committed and do not allow
yourself to even entertain the thoughts of failure – your success
comes faster and is even more abundant than you could have ever
imagined.

There is a big difference between the wildly successful people in
life versus the drones that are just going through the motions.

Most wildly successful people are fully committed to wrenching

everything out of their experiences and towards achieving their goals.

While the others, well, let’s just say their goals are usually limited
to “I hope I win the lottery tonight.”

I am a living testimonial to what I am saying. I have been very
fortunate and have achieved more than most in business, but I have
also suffered more than most in business. I am very familiar with both
sides of the tracks and I can tell you beyond any shadow of a doubt -
that the majority of you have what it takes to create an unbelievable life

Look, just use your head. At the end of the day it comes down to a few things that you must do to be successful in real estate.

MARKET YOUR BUSINESS - Market your business - let the world know that you exist. Bring buyers and sellers to you. There is absolutely no reason in the world to have to go looking for a deal when the deals can come directly to you. But it doesn't have to be your business! DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND DO BUSINESS WITH QUALITY PEOPLE THAT CAN REALLY HELP YOU GROW YOUR REAL ESTATE BUSINESS.

One more thing to think about...Hope is not a strategy. I see a lot of real estate professionals in this market "hanging on" with the last shred of hope that it will somehow turn around for them. Don't be that guy!!

I'm Refusing To Participate In The Recession

I refuse to participate in all of this recession talk.

In fact, most of the people that I know are beginning to realize that they can do the same.

Is it real? YES.

Is the world crumbling around us? NO.

Is there an unbelievable opportunity all around us? YES.

Am I personally and professionally doing everything that I can to make 2009 one of our best years? YES.

First of all, there are no good or bad times. All times are good times when you understand how and when to change your strategies. We are truly blessed to work with people all over the country that are making more money now than they have ever made before. They are employing new strategies and new techniques to identify opportunties. People that wouldn't touch Short Sales a year ago are now making their living off of them. Change is everything.

So I've decided....I am not participating in the recession and I invite you to not participate either.

People are still spending money. For those of you that watch our updates, you see that 1-800-SELL-NOW is growing like crazy (now in over 200 markets and adding more everyday). Our investment business at MemphisInvest.com experienced the single biggest year in sales that we have ever had (over 190 houses wholesaled this year). While the tone of the general public is fear, the fact is that people are still spending money. It's not that the amount of money has vanished, it's that people are hoarding and holding more than usual. People will continue to spend money on what they want to and that is the key.

During these types of climates, you must get back to basics. It's never how much something costs that determines the market, it's how much value you are providing to the market for the price. How much people spend on something is determined by its value.

Value is always perception.

Now is the time to be inspired. Surround yourself with people that inspire you and want to reach new heights in 2009.

Do the things that are necessary to get you on the path to your ultimate success!!! There is opportunity all around us.

You can be one of them, or you can be one of us.

You can particpate in the media madness or prepare for a dynamic future and brighter days.

The choice is yours. I've made mine.

I refuse to participate in all of this recession talk.

In fact, most of the people that I know are beginning to realize that they can do the same.

Is it real? YES.

Is the world crumbling around us? NO.

Is there an unbelievable opportunity all around us? YES.

Am I personally and professionally doing everything that I can to make 2009 one of our best years? YES.

First of all, there are no good or bad times. All times are good times when you understand how and when to change your strategies. We are truly blessed to work with people all over the country that are making more money now than they have ever made before. They are employing new strategies and new techniques to identify opportunties. People that wouldn't touch Short Sales a year ago are now making their living off of them. Change is everything.

So I've decided....I am not participating in the recession and I invite you to not participate either.

People are still spending money. For those of you that watch our updates, you see that 1-800-SELL-NOW is growing like crazy (now in over 200 markets and adding more everyday). Our investment business at MemphisInvest.com experienced the single biggest year in sales that we have ever had (over 190 houses wholesaled this year). While the tone of the general public is fear, the fact is that people are still spending money. It's not that the amount of money has vanished, it's that people are hoarding and holding more than usual. People will continue to spend money on what they want to and that is the key.

During these types of climates, you must get back to basics. It's never how much something costs that determines the market, it's how much value you are providing to the market for the price. How much people spend on something is determined by its value.

Value is always perception.

Some people took out loans they thought they could afford and now find out they aren't able to. OK. Just about everyone that I know has been touched by this problem. What to do? Time to suck it up and deal with what emerges. Stay in the present moment. I am fortunate to have survived some tough financial times in the past. That experience gave me a great foundation to realize that you will always learn more in the tough times than in the easy times. Most of my greatest and most creative strategies and ideas came when I was broke and scared.

Now is not the time to crawl into a hole and hope. Hope is not a strategy. Embrace the fear that you have and let it drive you to attack life.

Now is the time to be inspired. Surround yourself with people that inspire you and want to reach new heights in 2009.

Do the things that are necessary to get you on the path to your ultimate success!!! There is opportunity all around us.

You can be one of them, or you can be one of us.

You can particpate in the media madness or prepare for a dynamic future and brighter days.

The choice is yours. I've made mine.

Stop Being Cynical And Start Being Successful In Real Estate

In a world where volumes are off by 30-40-50%, it is easy to understand some of the cynics out there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.....mine just happens to be the opposite of most.

We are in one of the greatest opportunities that the real estate industry has ever seen. You see, our team has a unique advantage in that we get to view the industry from the vantage point of over 160 markets around the country and I assure you - IT'S NOT BAD FOR EVERYONE. In fact, quite the opposite!!!

Misery loves company, and the "ne-sayers" and cynics have had plenty to complain, moan, and groan about. "The banks won't lend. Everything is a short-sale. There are no equity deals anymore. There aren't any buyers in the market right now. Etc, Etc, Etc."

Well, while they are sitting around crying about it and saying it cannot be done, others are stepping up to the plate and taking advantage of all of these situations.

You see, as a wholesaler of over 200 houses this year in the Memphis, TN market - I see the investors flooding in to buy up good deals - there is no shortage of buyers or money.
