Why Launch AdamTeece.com

Recently I had a meeting with my Girlfriend’s co-worker George Benson. He has been involved with marketing for quite some time now and is successful to the point of his not having to work anymore(even though he still does because he loves it). George has been watching me build my SWFL Marketing Labs brand and wanted to talk with me about it. This post will describe some of the insights he shared with me.

Personal Branding

As I mentioned above, George has been in marketing for a long time and he went through a phase where he was working to build a brand for a company he formed. One thing he discovered though, he could never get his company as memorable as himself. The relationships he formed were the cornerstone of his success. Because of this, he kept the company name, but started building the brand of himself and greatly accelerated his journey to success.

This is the main reason I’m sharing my blog with you, to help build my name as a brand and to help me relate better to you as well. I’ll show you what works for me and what doesn’t as well as ideas I have along the way. If you have ideas for me, please share them in the comments. I’m always open and I also look forward to seeing some of your successes over time.

Business Branding

I credit George a lot for getting me motivated enough to start this blog and even though we really focused on Personal Branding, I believe that the Business Branding is important as well. So many entrepreneurs start a business and the business can’t do anything without them. The business and the entrepreneur are one. This can’t work in the long term.

A business is designed to be it’s own entity. It can have the founder’s spirit and that is often a very good thing, but the business needs to be able to stand on it’s own. I recently read E-myth Revisited for the second time and now I understand how important it is to develop the business seperately from yourself.

Branding is a big part of business development. It’s the face of what the company is all about. Art, simplicity, customer service, fun, happiness, love. These are some of the real products of companies such as Apple, Zappos and many more. What will your brand represent?

More About The Why

Part of Branding is finding your voice. I plan on doing that here and I hope it will inspire you to find your voice too. I will be writing text posts such as this, as well as Audio and Video to see what works best for me. I have a feeling, I will use multiple formats in the long run, but one of the three will end up being my strongest.

Do you have any questions abour Branding that you want answered? Or any particular topics you would like me to investigate and cover? Leave a note in the comments and let me know.
