Look, I didn’t say anything at the game because I didn’t want to ruin our night but yeah, I heard you and yes, they do “have basketball players where I am from.” However, they aren’t on razor sharp skates and whacking a solid piece of rubber around the ice. (They are usually dunking or being boring until the the playoffs start. Zing NBA!)

See, genius, the reason I mentioned that I couldn’t believe how big 6’9” Zdeno Chara was a few times is because no one in NHL history has even seen anyone as large as he is!

Here’s the only possible explanation I can think of on your behalf. I’ve never visited Roseville, where you said you were from, so maybe there is a Tuesday night league of 6’9” and over hockey players there. If so, you need to let Kenny Holland know because, damn, they’d be nice to have on the Wings.

But that’s the only reason I can think of that you wouldn’t be amazed at Chara’s size. There aren’t a bunch of 6’9” people out there to begin with and the fact that this guy is able to play on skates with the skills and agility it takes to play at the highest level of hockey… That’s amazing.

Here are the two morning views we’ve had the past couple days. The top was from our villa in Costa Rica. We woke up to the mountains and palm trees every day… literally 100 yards from the beach. The bottom is the view out of our bay window in our sleepy little cul-de-sac. There’s not ocean around the corner - and I can’t wear my bathing suit every place - but this is home.

Think about how amazing these times that we’re living in really are. Yesterday, I woke up just a couple hundred miles north of the equator, sweating like no one’s business in the heat and by the time I went to bed, I was sleeping here at home in Michigan. That’s incredible when you think about it you guys.

I ate dinner 200 feet from the same bus Rosa Parks refused to move on, 100 yards from the same limo that Kennedy was shot in, within sight of an original McDonalds sign and the Wienermobile, had h’our derves next to the chair President was shot in and danced under a Douglas DC-3.

Please someone create a wide format theme, taking advantage of the full 960. I’m tired of seeing 500px wide images. I don’t know what exact size the content should be, but how about something that would allow images around 700 - 750px wide? Here is a beautiful blog taking advantage: idsgn

Or if there is one, please someone point me in the right direction. I need to start laying out a blog theme for my wife who is going to start blogging soon.

The reason you see so many blogs at 500px is that Tumblr only supports resized photos to be, at most, 500px wide. What you could do is create a high-res photo tag in your theme and just make sure it’s resized to 960 or whatever you want it at. Although the thought of taking every photo that I post into Photoshop and resizing them makes my head hurt. The other problem with that is that any reblogs will be too small the fill the area. I’ve considered these things as well and if you figure them out, let me know though.

iStockphoto recently announced that they would start a logo marketplace where business could search for a new logo with a price range between $100-$1000. The designer of the logos would receive half of the selling price. I think the Ric’s comment - read the entire thing - is spot on.

My cousin is a pretty talented guy. Musically, he’s done everything from playing in a band with Chad Smith to beating Girl’s Tyme - which was the precursor of Destiny’s Child - on Star Search. So yeah, he knows a bit about music.

Anyways, a few years ago at Christmas he was telling us about how he was cleaning the house one day and decided to make a upright bass out of a cardboard box, hardwood flooring and weed wacker twine! He posted the video on YouTube and it went straight to the front page - this was before YouTube was a verb. The comments and feedback he got on that video prompted him to work with a couple guys and really create a great sounding bass that could be mass produced in a kit.

Now, he’s selling these cardboard upright bass kits in 36 countries around the world and inventing new things for the music industry. It’s people like him that inspire me to keep creating, thinking and inventing.

Chicago could become the first major city in the country with a puking ordinance if cab drivers get their way.

Chicago taxi drivers proposed a package of fee and fare hikes Thursday designed to offset their plunging income during the recession. Among the more controversial revenue-boosting ideas brought to the City Council is charging customers $50 for vomiting in cabs.

For the record: I haven’t vomited in a cab in sixteen months!

I haven’t vomited in a cab in about 5 days. It was my first time ever and proves how much of a shit show last Wednesday night (bachelor party) was for me. Pretty sure this is the last thing I’ll say publicly about that night.

Also, I support this law wholeheartedly. It’s disgusting and if some kid hopped in my office and puked, I’d be pissed and so I can see exactly where the cabbies are coming from.

i haven’t been all that attached to tumblr lately (i know, right?) and how do you guys repay me? by giving me one of the most reblogged posts i’ve had in a while and making my tumblarity soar. i tried keeping up with the awesome things you posted, i really did, but i just couldn’t. and now, even if i go back 100 pages, i doubt i will be able to catch up.

i was a little busy, buying a house and having a bachelor party and getting married and all that. so now, i’m sitting in said new house, with a pot of coffee brewing for said new wife about to hop in the shower for my first day of work as a married man. life has changed a lot in those 10 days.

i mean, if you would do me a solid and reblog this post with a link to your one or two most interesting posts or something you feel i need to know about to not feel lost as a member of the tumblr community, i can check it out. did i miss a new lazershark meme? or is the tv show glee becoming the next auto reblog thing? and you guys saw community right? the first episode? because i dug that one.
