When I look through the customer names for our TEC 2306 TechSwabs, the words Sign or Signs keep coming up, as well as Exhibition, Display, Art, Graphics, Design and Print. That’s because these foam cleaning swabs have been proven by all these companies to be excellent for cleaning the print heads of digital printers. The swabs are reticulated polyurethane foam, ensuring excellent absorbency whilst minimising contamination. The tips are heat sealed to prevent tip loss even whilst saturated with solvent.

DYMAX Cure-Point™ 9440-A/B is a silicone which cures to depth in seconds upon exposure to UV/visible light to provide protection to electronic components and circuitry. It is a UV/visible light-curable silicone potting and sealing material designed for applications where fast cure, enhanced thermal performance and room-temperature shadowed-area cure are required. Cure-Point 9440-A/B has a pot life of greater than 90 days at room temperature after mixing.

This product is designed to withstand long exposure to temperatures ranging from below -40°C to above 200°C while retaining fast-cure processing benefits associated with UV-curable materials. This makes it superior to RTV silicones and heat-cure silicones which require longer cure times or elevated temperatures to cure. Cure-Point 9440-A/B excels in applications where oil or chemical exposure are present. It also features a fast, tack-free cure with negligible shrinkage.

ACC AS1722 is a clear, low viscosity room temperature cure silicone which can be used to seal, bond and coat sensitive electronic components. It has excellent adhesion to most substrates including plastics and will not cause corrosion of sensitive metals such as copper. It is supplied in convenient 310ml cartridges.

ACC AS1722 is a specially formulated neutral cure silicone sealant designed for use with electronic assemblies. An alkoxy 1-part room temperature vulcanising (RTV) silicone sealant, the system produces a sealant with excellent adhesion to most common substrates.

Modern art is such an integral part of life, the interweb and everything, that some exciting projects are taking place – perhaps where they always have – at the borders between the street and the gallery. So it is even more interesting to find this kind of project dependant upon an advanced flexible epoxy adhesive such as IRS 2125.

Our story begins with The Baroness working over the summer with the Single Homeless Project at their suburban art workshops, involved with young, homeless and vulnerable people. Together with other artists, the group produced a body of work that was exhibited at the Signal Gallery. The main piece produced by The Baroness was a VW bonnet in mosaicked ceramic with our IRS 2125. As The Baroness explains:

Since I have used this glue before I am entirely confident of its strength and flexibility which are important factors in large artworks that are moved around a lot. This piece was inspired by my time at the Urban Arts Project and used facial imagery from these workshops.

A Vauxhall bonnet was also mosaicked by the group as a co-operative exercise. At the end of the project and to celebrate the success of it, the SHP organized a one-day event called Artival after which the VW bonnet itself went on display at the new Mutate Britain Exhibition as part of their One Foot in the Grove presentation.

And so our story ends with a high performance 2 part epoxy adhesive – originally developed for cable harness assemblies, wiring, cable joints, terminations, electronics, structural bonding and downhole/oil well operations – now decorating one of London’s fast growing gallery venues. As a user footnote we return to The Baroness, who was delighted with the convenience and usability of IRS 2125

I had around 10 50gram cartridges which were easily applied with standard nozzles – workability and setting times were brilliant!

Araldite 2028 adhesive is a fast setting, transparent, two-part polyurethane adhesive. What makes this adhesive different is that it is both transparent and UV stable, as well as flexible and fast curing.

Araldite 2028 bonds wide varieties of plastics including polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and polycarbonate (PC). Tailor made for seismic cables and cable assemblies, as well as general industrial applications.

Araldite 2028 will find many applications in bonding acrylic sheets and parts; it is clear and quick to cure, so our customers making point-of-sale (POS) displays and signs/signage will find it invaluable.

The Practical Components PC016 Mixed Technology Kit is an effective and economical way to train and evaluate students and employees. This kit contains a variety of standard surface mount and through-hole components with tracks to simulate real world situations. Each kit comes individually boxed with all components bagged and labeled for easy identification. It conforms to the IPC J-STD-001D standard for soldering, world-recognised as the sole industry-consensus standard covering soldering materials and processes.
