The preeflow® eco-DUO450 is a two-component precision volumetric, positive displacement, dosing/mixing/dispensing system that gives you accuracy and repeatability.

The preeflow eco-DUO450 uses the precision dispensing technology of the preeflow eco-PEN – by integrating two eco-PENS through a manifold and a static mixing nozzle, and provides extremely precise metering, mixing and dispensing of critical two-part materials like epoxies and silicones. The preeflow® eco-DUO450 can dispense as small as 0.01 millilitres.

Applications will encompass micro-electronics, medical optics, LCD/LED/OLED, bio-science and a wide range of other industries where it is important to ensure exact quantities of materials are metered, mixed and dispensed.

We are now able to offer a range of high technology, electrically conductive adhesives. The products are two-part and single-part epoxy systems designed for electronic interconnects in a wide range of applications, including hybrid electronic assembly and solder replacement. These adhesives are primarily silver-loaded.

Polytec PT Electrically Conductive Adhesives are available in a wide range of process friendly packaging options, including bubble-free syringes, pre-measured twin-packs and single syringes containing the adhesive pre-mixed and frozen.

A quick and simple adhesive solution was required for one of Ford Components Manufacturing Ltd’s laminated metal shim pack products. Known as edgepeel®, the pack provides a number of shims, to specific customer requirements, that can be quickly and easily selected at the point of assembly, therefore speeding up production.

These thin steel shims are normally held together by their oil coating, but in a specialist application, a more robust solution was sought –  and supplied by us in the form of DYMAX Multi-Cure® 6-621, a UV curing flood lamp and a Fisnar adhesive dispenser.

The system, which is designed to provide excellent bonding onto metal with easy dispensing and fast UV/visible light cure, was tested on the oil coated laminate steel shims and proved entirely successful by achieving tiny bond line on the edge of the shims – and by the presence of an oil coating – the two factors combining to enable just the right level of adhesion for the task at hand – providing stable adhesion during storage/transit and clean separation when needed.

We were delighted – INTERTRONICS came up with a quick simple system which fitted very easily into our production process with optimal results and at reasonable cost – full marks all round!

Interestingly, the system worked by doing the opposite of best practice, which would normally seek to maximize the bond line and emphasize cleanliness in order to maximize adhesion. In this case the use of a single part, quick cure, high performance adhesive at the margin of normal conditions overcame the presence of oil on a minimal bond area to provide exactly what was needed.

Rewind to 1983, and does anybody remember the highly impressive advertisement by Araldite – where a yellow Ford Cortina was glued to a billboard on London’s Cromwell Road with the headline “It also sticks handles to teapots”? Later, a red Cortina was placed on top of the yellow one and the headline changed to ”The tension mounts”. Finally the car was removed from the billboard leaving a gaping hole. This time the headline cleverly read ”How did we pull it off?”.

At INTERTRONICS we don’t sell Araldite for the purpose of sticking handles to teapots, but you get the idea!

The THINKY ARV-930Twin has twin mixing containers, with the capacity to process a maximum one litre of materials.
