Why did you begin your blog?
To document and share my crafty learning experiences.  I’m learning to sew clothing, I’m constantly knitting and baking, and always trying new things.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
I regularly post about sewing projects.  From new to vintage patterns.  I also document any other crafty projects including: knitting, crocheting, crafty gifts, baking, etc.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I love to be busy! I’m always doing something… Usually dancing (I do Irish and Scottish dance) but when I’m not, I’m crafting and hanging out with my husband, three cats, and my dog.

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
Input into my blog. I would love a critical eye on it who can tell me what’s worthwhile and what’s not.  Do I need to scale back? Am I providing enough details about my projects?

I think it’s a great idea I love the idea of wise bloggers helping newbie’s to refine their blogs.  I rely on many other bloggers to provide inspiration and to share great ideas.  It’s what made me decide to start blogging.  I hope that eventually my blog can do the same for people and that I can teach other bloggers how to have a great blog.

Why did you begin your blog?
I began my blog because I love writing, I love helping people, I love critical thinking. I found myself thinking and discussing the dynamics of relationships, being single, and dating all the time so I thought it would be a great focus for my blog.

My site is about finding happiness and your true self whether you are single, dating, or in a relationship. So far I have a loyal following of friends who really find value in my posts.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing yet I have been more drawn to writing in the past year. I am naturally creative, witty, and relates well to people.

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I am so new to blogging. I need help in getting more readers and making sure my content is of top quality.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
RR is all about being made new. Whether it’s turning an old sweater into a stuffed animal, or a awakening a lost, hurt or broken part of a person’s life to be renewed, more bold or healed. I share about how to “revive remnants” of all kinds. 
Of course I also share bits of my personal life, faith, and my tastes in products, fashion, and food. I have a preference for all things recycled and eco-friendly. 

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I’m a 27 year old gal who has been married 1.5 years. Just 3 weeks after getting hitched my hubs and I moved to South Asia to do Christian mission work through teaching English and building friendship with Muslims. My relationship with Christ is first in my life and I consider my blog to be an extension of my personal ministry. I’ve recently been learning to sew, and I also knit, crochet and love cooking. I spent many years not being comfortable with my femininity until God and I went through a great healing process of my soul. I’m now passionate about this area and also sharing Godly femininity with other women.  

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I need help with know how often to write and what to write about. I feel like I jump around a lot, and go through spurts. I need someone who can help me navigate through my thoughts and inspiration in a way that helps me organize posts in a way that makes sense and is attractive to readers.

I also need advice on how to drive more traffic to my site.

The Palate Princess is a website dedicated to all things culinary–from restaurant and product reviews to an interactive food blog.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I am a Human Resources professional by day but a writer by nature.  I have authored short stories and articles but food writing/blogging has captured my heart.  I’m also a voracious reader and a patron of the arts.

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I need a mentor to guide me in the art of increasing readership and making connections in the culinary world.  I would also like a more trained eye to critique my writing and topics.

I believe that I have a skill that needs to be cultivated and, eventually, I would like to serve as a mentor to others.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
I’ve always been fascinated by the ways communities form and interact.  My blog shares some of my experiences and thoughts around the expressions of community found in the region where I live.  I also joined a cook-a-long group and have been documenting my adventures cooking my way through Dorie Greenspan’s Around My French Table.  Right now, the community and cooking content is half and half, but I’d like to work toward having the cook-a-long take up about a third of my posts.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I care a great deal about communities, local foodways, social justice and human rights.  I also love crafts, cooking, dogs, eating out and browsing through shops and bookstores. 

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I’d like some advice around photography and some feedback on how to make my posts and site more engaging, along with any recommendations my mentor might have for tools and tricks of the trade.

I am a single mommy of 2 lovely kids.  We cook together, play together and laugh all day long.

Getting traffic to my site, and blogging in general!

My site is all about doughnuts and love!! My mini doughnut business that I just started is well on it’s way and I am hoping to gain more exposure by keeping my blog as interesting as my product!

A little bit about me…hmm! I live in southern California with my new husband (just got married june 2010) and our pup and cat! I LOVE music and it’s a good thing because my husband and our best friend is a DJ. I get WAYYYYYYYYYY too into game shows and hope to be on family feud one day! haha! I love animals and baking and I don’t like to cook!

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I would love some encouragement to blog more! Sometimes I forget and I would love to have a great following for my business and I know blogging is important!

Why did you begin your blog?
I was studying abroad in Europe and it was my last semester before graduating. I was spending a lot of time pondering the future and setting big goals. I started getting really enthusiastic about my plans and wanted to share them. 

Also, I didn’t have many friends over in Denmark and so I started up a blog in large part to connect with like-minded people all over the world and make new friends.

Finally, I was (and am) hoping that I could turn the blog into a viable business later down the road. I genuinely want to help and inspire others and I think it would be amazing if I could survive (financially speaking) by doing something I’m so passionate about.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
Puttylike is a blog about lifestyle design and personal development for ‘multipotentialites’- that is people who have a ton of random interests in life and don’t want to settle on one path to the exclusion of all others. 

Basically I encourage people to design a life that integrates their many interests and grants them the space and freedom to explore as they wish.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I’m in my mid-twenties, currently living in Montreal but planning to move to the Pacific Northwest in the summer. I just finished up law school and have no interest in being a lawyer. Before that I studied film production and music. I do some freelance web design work as well.

In short, I pretty much epitomize my blog’s target audience… I have a ton of interests and am always becoming curious in new things and changing paths. I’ve sort of made it work for me. 

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I’d love to get some help growing my blog. I feel like I write a lot of valuable content and it’s a shame that more people aren’t reading it.

I would also like to monetize the blog at some point. I’m already promoting a few affiliate products, but what I’d really like to do is create and sell my own product.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
The College Cooker is a blog about simple, inexpensive cooking presented in a way that even the most inexperienced person could recreate the recipes. Most of the recipes can be made right in one’s dorm room, using nothing more than a George Foreman grill and a small slow cooker. My target audience is not just college students, however, and the focus is about learning to cook in a way that even a busy person with a small budget can handle.

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I’m a senior at the University of Miami and I live in the most fun city in the world: Miami! I’m 21 years old and I’m half Puerto Rican and half Jamaican. I love to showcase my culture through my food and to entertain friends in my little on-campus apartment. I’m a double major in International Studies and Political Science and a double minor in Arabic and Portuguese. I interned for the Pentagon in Washington this past summer and am now an intern for United States Southern Command in Miami, working as an Intelligence Analyst. I’m a spoken word artist, member of The Write Side Poets and engaged to my best friend!

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I really want to target new readers and bring new people to the blog. I redesigned the entire blog this week to give the site a better look, but I still need advice on how to make it better. I want advice on how to blog efficiently and please, please PLEASE on how to take better pictures of food. I am terrible at food photography and lighting and my pictures are constantly denied by FoodGawker and TasteSpotting and I need to learn to take better pictures of food.

I want to participate in Adopt a Blogger because I am determined to be an awesome food blogger and make The College Cooker a site that many, many people go to when they want a fun, simple approach to food, along with some humor and poetry on the side.

Why did you begin your blog?
I began my blog this past summer to create a space to track my growth budding interest in baking. None of my friends were interested in the hobby and my parents are not big on sweet stuff (even the consumption of it), so I felt largely isolated. Additionally, I wanted an opportunity to practice writing on a consistent basis, since I do so much of it during the school year.

Brief summary of what your site is all about:
Krafted by Kelly is a food-related blog primarily about my baking and my experiences cooking with my boyfriend, as we try to feed ourselves as food-conscious college students. Additionally, I really enjoy art and drawing, so an added element is my webcomic, Little Pink Toque, which illustrates hilarious tweets and quotes uttered in the food blogging community. 

Tell me just a little bit about you, personally:
I’m a twenty year old art history and Asian American studies student at UCLA. My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years. I’m an only child, originally from San Diego, CA, and am a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. I love food and eating in general, though my particularly weak spots are cinnamon anything, sugar cookies, cupcakes, custard, chocolate, strawberry-flavored anything, toffee, whipped cream, cream cheese, noodles, dumplings, sashimi, gyros, banh mi, burgers, and avocado-anything. 

What would you say you need the most help with from a mentor?
I think I need the most help with my writing itself and web design. Additionally, reaching a broader audience is definitely one of my goals, so anyone with insight about that would be very helpful.
