What is Adoption is Forever?

It is a safe place where we can all come together – share our stories and encourage each other in the awesome job of parenting adopted children. May we strengthen each other through our words of love and hope. May we bless others who have yet walk this journey of faith with wisdom from our experiences.

Let’s make this place welcome to all and shower them with God’s grace, mercy and the healing power of His truths.

Please email me (inhisgrace7@gmail.com) your stories – attachment struggles – yours and your children, adopting a child of another race, abuse – whether it be from the orphanage or in your home, learning disabilities and how you have dealt with them, share the resources that have given you hope to go on another day, share ways that your church, community, family and friends could help instead of judge. You can share this anonymously or with first names only. Please do NOT share where you live or your blog address unless you want others to know who you are. Please do NOT use your children’s names unless you are 100% comfortable with family and friends reading the story knowing who you are speaking about.

My hope and prayer is that this place will be safe for everyone to come without judgment and get the strength, wisdom and encouragement they need to parent the gifts brought to them through the blessing of adoption – whether domestic or international. Every child needs us the parents to do everything in our power to give them what they really need – love unconditionally and grace when they mess up – forgiveness when they hurt us – mercy when they begin to feel defeated and hopeless – and teach them where it all comes from – God who has adopted all of us by the way of His Son. May we never forget that in God’s eyes adoption is forever!

I pray you will join me and share this journey – bringing hope to families and loving them through the challenges they will face as an adoptive family!

My name is Jill and I am:

a blessed wife and Mom of 9
who loves Jesus, and by His grace I desire to do more!

Over the last four years we have walked by faith through international adoption 7 times - our family has grown from four - to eleven during this journey! With each adoption I learned a little more about parenting, the struggles a child goes through during the transition, my own struggles to attach and how so many others experience the exact same things. I am not a parenting or adoption expert, however, I believe our experiences can help others through this amazing experience.

Having 9 children who range in age from 3 -16 yrs. old has opened my eyes to see things from their eyes more than mine. Three of our children came home as babies 8-10 months old and even they went through moments of intense grief, confusion and needing to know we were there 100% of the time. They still seem to go through periods more than the average child who is not adopted their ages of needing to know we are here for them forever!

Three of our children came home ages 3-5 yrs old and each one had a different experience when they entered our home. Looking back it is hard to imagine a day they were not with us - yet in the beginning of their time home we went through many challenges and days filled with tears. We are blessed beyond words having each of them in our lives and they inspire me to be, do and grow more!

I put all of my faith and hope in God alone!

Three years ago, I wrote my first book to help others learn all they could about healing the body naturally. In the summer of 2009, I re-published it with a new title Breaking Free - Truths for Healthy Living. I pray it blesses you and encourages you to learn all you can about the holy vessel God dwells in - perfectly and wonderfully created!
