Parenting Help?

Parenting can definitely have its moments, I can't deny that! As adorable our children can be, it's not always easy raising them. Sometimes you just have to look at things from a lighter perspective to avoid getting your nerves frazzled as parents. After all, our own parents had to put up with us, too, didn't they? LOL! On a side note, I thought I'd share a site I found with a different approach to parenting than I have found in any other place that I've done my research on. I really like this one and am in the midst of trying out the approach myself. So far, so good... Check out Love And Logic.

Did You Hear About the Ridiculously Photogenic Guy?

It's funny how the Internet has proliferated our lives so much that anything unusual or interesting that gets shared can go "viral" just like that. Take a look at this case of the random photo of a smiling 10K Runner. The photographer (Will King) noticed his unusually happy and at-ease look amongst a crowd of non-smiling other runners so the photographer dubbed him the "ridiculously photogenic guy" and shared it on Flickr. Here's that pic (in case you haven't seen it yet):

And here is a close up view of that "photogenic guy":

Since then more and more stories have popped up in the media about this "ridiculously photogenic guy". We've even learned that his name is Zeddie Little. And guess what? There are even a bunch of Facebook pages that have risen out of this frenzy. Here are just a few of them that I found:

I wonder what this Zeddie Little does for a living because now, he's so famous that he could probably make a lot of money modeling or advertising. With a face like that (handsome and highly recognizable) he could probably make some manufacturer successful in selling health or sports products. Ya know?!

OMG!!! I nearly fell off my chair laughing at this one email that came in to our customer service inbox at the office. Many of you may already been familiar with those spammers sending emails claiming they want to send you a million dollars that someone who died supposedly left behind without any beneficiary. Well, this variation of the email was just TOO FUNNY!!!

Banner Ads and Internet Surfing

I read somewhere that websites place "cookies" on your computers so that they can track sites you visit. This supposedly helps them or search engines (?) provide more relevant ads on some sites you frequent, such as social networking sites.

If that's the case, I DON'T BELIEVE IT! Seriously, I don't. I go on my Yahoo! mail and notice the kinds of ads that show up on my sidebar. In the past, I'd see a variety of ads and the most common one I would see was the T-Mobile ads. Lately, however, I have been seeing ads for online dating sites like Match.com. How in the world?!!!

I have never gone on any of these kinds of sites, not even on Facebook or MySpace. So how could whoever places these ads or creates the programming that places these ads find this type of advertising relevant to a 40-something, happily married mother like me? I really wonder...so someone please tell me if you know.

Ducks in Heaven

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.
When they get there, St. Peter says, 'We only have one rule here in heaven: Don't step on the ducks!'

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place.
It is almost impossible not to step on a duck. And although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.

St. Peter chains them together and says, 'Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!'

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing.

With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.
