School is daycare. When we are honest about this we can provide better outcomes for kids, parents and teachers. Parents are the primary teacher and schools must exist to support parents for the educational outcomes they seek for their kids. The most important choice for a parent is finding daycare that aligns with their values.

Schools are necessary because most parents need time away from their kids so we can work. Parents have varying schedules and commitments so instead of mandating that all kids start and end at the same time, schools should have times they are open so they can care for and guide kids. If a kid has the luxury to sleep in till 10 am, parents should be able to drop them off at school at 11 am if they choose to do so.

Schools should have teachers that guide students and foster their curiosity. It’s a partnership between parent and teacher. Just as parents have a choice of where to send their kids to school, schools should also be able to decide on whether parents and their kids fit in or able to adapt to the schools culture.

Even before education schools must be a place where kids are well rested and fed. Learning and participating in physical education is only possible when the basic human needs are met. If a kid is sleepy they should have access to a quite place with a bed. When they get hungry they should have access to nutrient dense food.

School is not about the teacher or their feelings or their need for employment. When good teachers take care of the parents and students needs, the school will take care of the teachers.

Teachers are here to guide and foster a students creativity. In an age where we can all learn anything we want on the internet the teacher should not feel pressured to know all the answers. The teacher is here to guide the student to find their own answers.

Prayer is the most powerful tool for self development. Jesus taught us over 2000 years ago how to tap into the inner voice inside every single one of us in order to connect directly with God and ask him to help us express the highest, most loving and best version of ourselves. In times of discomfort and uncertainty it’s this direct connection with the Creator that gives us the strength to continue putting one foot in front of the other as we place our future in his hands.

Connecting with the Creator that lives within you is the most powerful way to have a strong, grounded sense of self esteem and confidence. Prayer helps us to maintain coherence between our logical mind, desires and emotions. Prayer within a group is even more powerful creating a bond where everyone is moving in the same direction with intention.

Christianity is the backbone of Western civilization and it’s beautiful because anyone who accepts or is inspired by Jesus can be a self proclaimed Christian. Many of our core beliefs vary as can be seen in the many denominations but ultimately nobody can tell you that you aren’t Christian if that is how you identify.

Our eternal lives are lived here on earth. Our parents live within us and we continue experiencing life through our kids.

Nature and biology is truth. Science is a means of measuring and advancing our understanding of the beauty God has created. There is no conflict between God and the natural world.

The best way for Christians to make sense of the world Before Christ (BC) is to read about the many great civilizations that existed in Egypt, Greece among many others and the advancements in human history such as language and agriculture.

When studying history and anthropology objectively from various sources instead of an old testament you begin to realize the possibility that God created the beautiful multicellular organisms we are today through evolution. It’s estimated the earth is over 4.5 billion years old so everything in existence today has begun taking shape since then.

God created us with a much greater connection to the land and everything in it than some fictional creationist stories tell. When we understand everything has been shaped over billions of years and that it’s all a symbiotic relationship we treat everyone and everything including plants, animals and even insects with the upmost respect.

The modern humans as we exist today seem to have begun to take our current form in Africa, then migrated to the Middle East where Arabs flourished and ultimately humans created all kinds of beautiful civilizations around the Earth.

Jesus started a global movement anyone is welcome to participate in. He taught us how to tap into the power of the Creator that lives within us through prayer. In order to understand where we come from before Jesus we are best off studying the ancient civilizations and periods of history we are individually most curious about.

Jesus was such a powerful and influential figure over 2000 years ago that we decided to start our calendars around his life. Other seismic shifts in our evolution where one may consider starting our calendar though is when humans began farming and when we began working with tools other than those made of stone.

It’s currently about the year 12,026 if we begin counting when humans began settling in fertile areas to grow crops.

If you prefer starting your calendar when we began to exit the stone age and entered the age of metals beginning with Bronze it’s approximately the year 5,326.

The discovery of oil and the ability to harness electricity is of course another gigantic advancement in our evolution. If you begin our calendar when oil was discovered at Spindletop in Beaumont, Texas it’s currently the year 125.

Civilizations are built around energy. Oil, gas, electricity and our natural resources are the most transparent and honest form of money. Now with Bitcoin and AI data centers, man is incentivized to discover and harness the most affordable, abundant and renewable electricity.

Electricity also runs throughout our bodies. The rhythm of electricity in your brain and heart is easily measured with medical equipment. These are your greatest asset. Care for them and choose wisely where you focus your energy.

You are the Light. The electricity running through your brain and heart is proof that you are the ultimate source of Truth.

You are the Creator. You are God’s chosen one. You are the son of God. You are God Himself.

If being the Creator is a step to far for you, then know at least that the Creator lives within you. The word of God is inscribed in your DNA. Jesus taught us at the Sermon on the Mount how to speak to the Creator that lives within us through prayer.

The world has always been conquered by people who genuinely believe God is on their side. My hope is to help you realize that God is in fact on your side and that when you do conquer the world you will remember your friend, Adrian.

After billions of rotations around the sun there is a conglomeration of tens of trillions of cells that make up the beautiful, unique person that you are.

Eternal life is here on Earth. Our parents live inside of us and we continue to experience life through our kids.

Not long ago money around the world was backed by gold or other precious metals. Since central banks were created in the early 20th century government issued currencies have moved away from the gold standard to fiat money, meaning it only has value because a government says it does. The global banking system has transitioned from money backed by gold to money that is backed by debt the instant new money is created.

It’s not detrimental that money is not backed by gold anymore as it still serves as an efficient means of trade, but what is detrimental and unsustainable is money backed by debt. Debt is created as soon as central banks create more money by buying government issued bonds, mortgage backed securities or any other asset. Commercial banks then lend this money to individuals or buy bonds as well. All new money pumped into the economy is problematic and unsustainable because it not only devalues hard earned money from savers, but it also unnecessarily creates a debt for some other individual or institution. Eventually there is too much debt placed on countries and individuals, but the only institutions that ever get bailed out are the large commercial banks.

The overwhelming majority of Western countries now have a larger debt than their annual gross domestic product. The United States owes over $18 trillion dollars which puts it’s GDP to debt ratio at about 105%. Japan has a debt to GDP ratio of well over 200%. These debts will never be paid off, because individuals are saddled with unsustainable amount of debts as well. No budget cuts or tax increases will ever pay down these debts, so governments are in a race to devalue their currency into oblivion by creating more money, but at the same time creating more debt. This creates a “death spiral” as the Governor of Puerto Rico put it, not only for his economy, but for the whole world issuing debt backed fiat currency.

Debt backed currency is problematic because someone must always be in debt as long as the currency is circulating. This means housing prices and stock market prices are artificially increased. Individuals loose their homes or worse end up in jail for unpaid taxes or court costs they can’t afford. Governments are not able to fulfill their obligations to the disabled or to senior citizens.

So while countries like the United States and Japan have central banks to buy their debt, they are in the same death spiral as Greece and Puerto Rico because these debts balloon to sizes much larger than all the products and services produced within its borders. Investors may also continue to buy bonds from countries with central banks and militaries, but they are now loosing money to never before seen negative interest rates and of course inflation.

The only solution to the debt backed money experiment is with new currencies such as bitcoin, which are created at a predictable pace and backed by a secure, decentralized, global ledger. For anyone new to this, a quick read on DC Forecasts : Bitcoin, Ethereum, ICO, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency News will truly bring anyone up to speed today. Individuals and regional or state governments that want to avoid the predictable default and bank seizures should pay attention to the Bitcoin price and begin using bitcoin and blockchain technology. Large economies with plentiful natural resources such as Spain, Italy, Texas, California and Florida can easily implement their own regional blockchain currencies in addition to using the Euro and US dollar. A blockchain based currency would be the quickest and most transparent way for Greece to resume business. Countries and states with smaller populations won’t be able to issue their own currencies, but businesses and individuals can trade, invest and save in fiat or blockchain currencies.

New competing currencies must be implemented in addition to the current debt backed currencies before faced with another 2008 financial crisis or the one Greece is experiencing now so trade doesn’t grind to a halt. Competing currencies on the blockchain are the only way forward to protect ordinary individuals and keep economies moving without continually bailing out the largest banks. States and countries can also fund their governments much more efficiently with blockchain currencies by allocating a percentage of new money created to fund public infrastructure instead of onerously having everyone file taxes.

Bitcoin was created in large part as a response to the 2008 financial crises in which the largest banks were bailed out. The problem with banks and governments has only grown larger, more centralized and created more debt. Bitcoin and blockchain technology is open for anyone to create their own currency. Bitcoin has gotten easier to use and can easily be converted to any government issued currency. Cryptosoft knows how to profit from it. There is no reason for large economies with natural resources and hard working people to rely solely on a single debt backed currency from a country that owes more money than all products and services than the entire population produces. It’s a recipe for disaster that can be avoided if states and small countries begin implementing their own parallel currencies on the blockchain with new and varied monetary policies. If you have any questions or concerns, look for more info on Bitcoin.

What organization runs 16% of all websites, hosts several of the largest media companies on their servers, yet is hardly ever mentioned in the news?

:S

Google, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon?

Give up yet?

The answer is, WordPress. Perhaps the big “W” gave it away. So what is WordPress and how are they taking over the web you ask? WordPress is a free open source platform, created by a small group of passionate people working to make it easier for anyone to publish content on the web, particularly blogs. It is a nonprofit organization founded in 2003 by then 19 year old Matt Mullenweg.

As for why it barely gets any coverage in the media. I have a couple guesses:

Most online publishers, take the technology and passion of its creators for granted and subsequently think it has always been this easy to publish content.

Second hypothesis is until fairly recently not much money has exchanged hands, but as more people learn about the platform this will change.

WordPress and other content management systems (i.e. Joomla and Drupal) are so exciting because anyone who wants to take the initiative to get involved can do so. Besides being the best platform for bloggers, it’s an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to help existing users on the platform customize their websites. Anyone can write a plugin for WordPress and take advantage of the many business models available. Automattic, the for profit company founded by Matt has several examples of plugins that helps users customize their blogs.

In fact if you’d like to learn more about WordPress, there are WordCamps held around the world which are organized by the passionate people behind the product. You can see a full schedule of cities and dates on the WordCamp website.

Additionally, Sarah Lacy, Founder of PandoDaily recently interviewed Matt. You can see the full interview below. For more fascinating interviews with entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders check out the PandoDaily events page.

It’s exciting to see new media evolve and different ways that online content creators work to create sustainable business models. All the popular blogs with a staff of writers give their content away which makes many wonder how they make their money. While these blogs have advertisements and affiliate partnerships, it isn’t enough revenue to cover the cost of a full staff of writers. To bridge this gap many blogs rely on conferences they host throughout the year and tickets to many of these events sell for up to thousands of dollars. Other blogs sell premium content which a small percentage of their readers may purchase.

There are so many websites, and online newspapers and magazines that share their content at no charge to readers, it simply isn’t feasible to put content behind a paywall because readers have so much choice that is free of charge. So is the only option to create a sustainable media company to host expensive conferences or sell premium content to readers? I think not. It takes a lot of work and a dedicated staff to churn out so many articles on a daily basis. We’re just in a transitional phase where everyone is trying to figure out the best way to monetize digital content.

Digital currency is already all too popular with online, social games. Zynga and others have created multi-billion dollar businesses by getting people to pay real cash for online credits to purchase farm animals and other digital nonsense to play these games. If people are willing to pay for digital crops and animals, then it must work for the online publishing industry as well. Instead of putting all the content behind a paywall however, readers should be able to pay a small fee per article.

There is a huge opportunity to help online publishers monetize their content and I can’t figure out why nobody has created a company that allows publishers to charge a nominal fee (ex $.10, $.25 or $.50) per article instead of putting all their content behind a paywall. Participating websites that would charge this nominal fee per article would simply include a link after the teaser portion of the article to allow readers to continue reading for a few cents. The company that would role this out should have it’s own website where people can refill their accounts with $10, $50, $100 or as much credit as they like, which they could use on sites around the web that decide they would charge per article. The company would then keep a small percentage of the money that is spent per article.

There is always a huge opportunity to make lots of money and create great businesses during these transitional phases. To my knowledge there isn’t a company that helps publishers monetize content per article, but if there is they aren’t doing a good job of signing up websites to use their service. If any angel investor or venture capitalist is willing to put a couple million dollars on the table as seed money to solve the content monetization dilemma, feel free to get in touch. I’m at adrian [at] adrianchilders [dot] com.

Events that can be found here is everything around music, movies, books, technology, entrepreneurship, manufacturing, marketing, finance, developers events and much more. I’d like to introduce you to Parisa Zadeh, out of Albuquerque, NM who is working on this events page to let you know what’s going on around the country.

Parisa keeps the calendar up to date by reading many of the most popular blogs and keeps a close tab of current events. AdrianChilders.com is all about sharing business ideas and the events on this calendar bring together the brightest minds in their respective industries. Parisa will periodically blog about upcoming events and highlight the very best. We will also be giving away passes to many of these events so make sure to subscribe by entering your name and email just to the right and we’ll let you know how you can get your hands on passes to these events.

Below find a picture of Parisa. She is from Sweden, currently studying business management at the University of New Mexico. In her home country she has been involved in politics and also promotes many business events in Sweden. When she’s not busy working she enjoys music, art and surfing. Lastly, I’d like to give a big thanks to Dante Di Gregorio, professor at UNM for introducing me to Parisa so she can help put together this excellent line up of events!

When business owners open their doors, they typically always cater to individuals or other businesses. The biggest potential customer with the most money however, the government is often ignored by most small businesses. Federal government spending has steadily increased since the beginning of the 20th century and now accounts for a significant portion of the U.S. gross domestic product.

All though much government spending is for construction and defense, federal, state and local governments need all types of products and services and it’s worth browsing to see what your business can supply. The federal government lists all contract opportunities on FBO.gov and you can see everything entirely free of charge. There is great search filters and instructions of how to navigate the site.

All though navigating the Fed Biz Opps page is easy, there are a few steps to follow before your company can submit a bid for proposal. Business owners must register with the Central Contractor Registration, the Small Business Administration’s, dynamic small business search page and with ORCA. During the process you’ll notice you need to know the NAICS codes for the product or service you sell, DUNS number, CAGE Code, among a few other things you may not have right off hand. It’s a time consuming process, but once you have everything in place you can begin submitting bids to work with the government for products and services you already supply.

Another page to check is Grants.gov which is where small businesses, non profits and institutions can apply for grants from various government agencies. It’s a time consuming process to search and read through the details of what the grant entails as many of the announcements can be up to 50 pages in length or longer.

Business owners can all do business with states and municipal governments as well. Doing business with states varies with each state. Business owners must register with each state they hope to do business with and must pay a fee to submit bids. Municipal governments don’t typically charge to submit bids. Both municipal and state governments typically give preference to local businesses, however it’s common for out of state businesses to win bids if there isn’t a supplier locally or if products or services can be provided cheaper.

Perhaps doing business with the government is often overlooked because it’s a much more time consuming process and it isn’t as easy as doing business with individuals or other businesses. This barrier of entry however, lessens the number of bids submitted for projects which increases the opportunities of your bid being selected to provide the government with products or services you sell. The good news is Small Business Development Centers and consultants that help navigate the process of doing business with the government are available across the country and the service they provide is free of charge. Now that you know where to look to do business with the government, browse some of the business opportunities and start answering some requests for proposals.
