Those of you that live in the states probably remember. It was named one of the deadliest tornados in US history for devastation. Joplin is small city of 58,000, one third of it was totally flattened. The tornado went over my house before it actually set down a half mile from me. It went on a six mile cruise and was 3/4 of a mile wide. It killed 129 during the storm and took another 34 lives after. St. Johns Hospital was hit very hard but everyone (to my knowledge) survived because of quick thinking nurses and doctors. St. Johns Hospital is now a MASH unit on the same property.

I drive down what I call tornado alley, (this is the full six miles of devastation) on my way to work. The other day as I was looking around, I spotted this tree. I had to go back with my camera and photograph it.

Not very many trees made it. ♥

details

<div style="margin: 0 0 10px 0;
