I’ll be exposing one of my digital paintings, “Feel”, next may at the Parallax Art Fair in Londond alongside with Hysterical Minds:

Hysterical Minds is proud to announce its international debut with an exhibition that will be held at the Parallax Art Fair from the 15th to the 18th of May in the Chelsea old Town Hall, London.

After two successful releases such as Shadowness and Twisted Essence, and the publication of our editorial opera prima Retrospectiva, we get out of your home screen again to walk around on the third dimension so you can see us live.

We will showcase a collection of 20 pieces from the collective artists (some of them still unreleased), and we will be giving a conference about the artgroup’s history and goals. Also, during the event we will have a little stand in which you can come by to ask for information or just to say hello! We will have there some copies of our book Retrospectiva. You will easily find us by the giant banner that points out our way!

We want to thank our artists for their participation in this project, and we wish a great reception of their artworks in London: Martín Thompson, Martín de Diego Sádaba, Liran Szeiman, Sabrina Fernández, Mario S. Nevado, Juan Carlos Barquet, Dumaker Martín Navas, Beñat Olea, Antonio Rodríguez Cano, Antonio Collado, Diego Díez, Rubén Pomares, Guillermo Chang, Darío Pineda, Israel Llona, Micael Katzman, Joshua Cairos, Daniel Torres, Fernando Martín and Laurence Rhynn Viollet.

The opening times of the event will be as follows:
Tuesday 15th of May: VIP entrance only from 19.00 to 21.00.
Wednesday 16th of May: 11.00 to 18.00.
Thursday 17th of May: 11.00 to 20.00. Jazz performance from 18.00 to 20.00.
Friday 18th of May: 11.00 to 17.00

Advanced Photoshop Magazine includes in its latest release (#95, United Kingdom) a two pages showcase of Hysterical Minds latest exhibition, “Twisted Essence” including some of the best digital artworks the art collective has released in their latest art pack, and featuring a short interview with the artgroup Art director (let’s say… myself) about the new quality level and the new concepts developed in this major release. Aégis Reborning: New Illustration portfolio

After a couple of week with the site closed due to some rebulding, I introduce you my all brand new illustration portfolio website, less complex, more elegant. But why a new website, if you laucnhed the old one just a few monhts ago? I think that my website has to represent myself, and my perspectives have changed. It’s hard to get a path in the illustration field, and when you are getting into it, I consider that you have to invest in your own identity. The most important thing are the images, so I had to focus on them. You will notice that now the galleries have a better arrangement: there are less areas in which to get lost. I have had to delete a lot of material that I considered that was not worth showing anymore. Anyway, you still have a chronologic gallery with all my illustrations in my deviantArt profile.

Basically, now the illustrations are sorted in three galleries: Photoillustration, Mixed Media and Paintings. The same occurs in the Photography area, in which you’ll find all portrait series mixed in a single category, but completely sortable to browse them in a stand-alone way. You have also the photojournalism section with the series of Spanish Revolution! and The Mourners, and also some “non-human” photos in the Metaphors gallery. Some videos are still available, the ones that “survived” are now available at higher quality.

You will fing info about my services in the Hiring page. The pages for Contacting and buying Prints are there as always. Regarding the Portfolio, I think you just have to discover it by yourself! Oh, and, the site now is almost bilingual at all English / Spanish

And to celebrate the release of this brand new site, here are 16 1280×1024 wallpapers for you! You can find them in the main page or by browsing the website: the appear randomly on all pages except in the portfolio ones. You just have to click on the arrow pointing upwards by your right and there you are! Just save the images and bring some life to your desktop

I hope you enjoy my new illustration portfolio and find it more user friendly. If you find any bugs and errors, please let me know! I bet there might me some flying over the site. Don’t be shy and leave your comments below!

Well, that is pretty much everything. I’ll save the big surprises for later, as I’m involved in several projects nowadays. I say a ‘see-you-soon’ to you all for a week… Freelancers also have vacation! I’ll be hanging around Barcelona if you want to catch me

Hysterical Minds releases Twisted Essence

Twisted Essence, the new artistic pack released by the hispanic-speaking art collective Hysterical Minds, ha sbeen released, at last, with some of the best material de collective has released to date, including mesmerizing paintings, vectors, photograps, mixed media illustration, music, and video animation, but also, a new proposal with cinemagraphs (animated photographs).

For this release, we wanted to devise the pack using new working methods, so we proposed a dual theme to handicap it and to stimulate the creativity of our artists. In one hand, essence makes reference to the human nature: chaotic, confusing, volatile and full of blendings, from gloom to brightness, from pale to full color… creating a conglomeration of meanings that travel from the grotesque and the cruel to the ironic, going through fantasy or psychedelia.

On the other hand, twisted gives that altered, spontaneous, and at times, even macabre connotation that we have focused not only as a conceptual matter, but above all, as a compositive one: You won’t see any centred pieces on the canvas. We have been working using alternative composition rules, such as the rule of thirds or the golden ratio, to get out the confort zone, and to offer a dynamic, narrative, polished and above all, full of shades visual experience, which accompanied with its eclectic and evocative soundtrack, will guide you through the created worlds of these hysterical imaginations.

In my case, I submitted two brand new digital photomanipulations and three digital photos.

The Unispired - Photomanipulation. The one who tries to create with an empty mind, but still, capable of doing it. Different placements shot in Jaén (Spain).

Drama Queen - Photography. Tries to be glamorous, but it is pathetic. Model: Eva Sánchez Nevado. Assistant: Andrés G. Fonseca. Shot circa Cehegín (Spain).

Nightshift - Photography. The beings of the night, while you sleep. Shot in Gent (Belgium).

Endogenesis - Inverted, cropped and rotated Photography. The divison of cells, the divison of humans. Strange scene found in the middle of a forest circa Edimburgh (Scotland).

I do really hope that you enjoy our latest effort. It has been a marvellous experience, that has helped us to grow as artists. It won’t disappoint you. Sixty top-notch illustrations, outstanding soundtrack and an animation clip that you cannot miss!

It was really hard work putting this art book together, but it was worth it.

New ad / poster for the 15M Movement for the protest actions they are going to do against banks February 24th. The idea is to stick the ads to all branchs they can find around the city, and let the people know, in case they don’t already, who are the culprits of the worlwide crisis most of us are suffering.
