The point of getting into the affiliate marketing business for me was an opportunity to make money, lots and lots of money. Or so I thought. When I started and I just created a blog on WordPress and started to make posts based on the daily Google Trends.

Now I ran this process for about a month and made about $2.50 in CPA earnings. Yep just $2.50 I could have just gotten a paper route and made about 100x that for the month. This was extremely frustrating but at that time I really didn't understand marketing or how to go about making money on the Internet. I had got suckered in by a website that had a guy that was boosting about making $5000+ a month just posting about Google Trends on his blog.

Don't fall for the hype...Please

After I initially failed I didn't quit I regrouped and tried again, but this time I spent more time doing thorough research. I went to the public library and started reading all the marketing books I could find. After doing about a month of just background research into marketing and how it's done I knew I was ready.

This next go round I decided to focus in on one subject and for me since I like technology I chose that. I went and bought a keyword-based URL and went ahead and got my own hosting on JustHost. After selecting a template that was cleanly designed I got to posting. I posted for a solid 2 months. During those two months I made sure to submit my URL to all the directories and search engines that would allow me(and were Free).

The one thing that stayed constant from the first time I started blogging was the traffic volume it wasn't that great. So I moved to my next step in my new plan which was to write articles and submit them to article directories. The articles were just simply 500 word niche related articles with all the right keywords inside(it's good to focus on 4 main keywords for every article).

After the articles I moved to my next step which was to create videos for YouTube, Dailymotion etc. The videos that I made were just videos of me discussing a top on my niche. Views for the videos I made peaked at about 25,000 views total. Now in getting views for your videos you'll need the perfect title and the right description.

The right title will both arouse interest but still give your potential viewers knowledge of what you'll be talking about(keep the title at around 6-8 words). The descriptions for videos on most sites are limited to around 250 words/characters so you will need to get creative. In the description you should describe what the video is about but at the same time use the most highly searched keywords for the videos niche.

Creating consistent money online isn't so easy, Is it?

Keep in mind while I'm doing all of this I was still making 1-3 posts a day on my blog. Folks, I won't lie to you the idea of creating an income source online isn't just a day's work. If you are going to do it right you will need focus and a drive to get everything done to the best of your abilities in a timely manner. Creating an online income source is pretty much like getting another job in the beginning but with almost no pay at first.

The final thing I did that really helped to put my blog on the right track for getting consistent traffic was getting my blog accepted into Google News. Google News you have no doubt seen before if you use Google for your searches. Google News is a directory for new news from around the web that is updated every time something is posted by it's members. Members of Google News includes news sources like CNN, Huffington Post and many many other big names but the good thing is that they accept the little guy's as well.

Google News allows for owners of Blogs, News Sites and even YouTube Channels. Now getting accepted is pretty difficult if your website/blog doesn't have multiple writers and auto-blogs are out of the question. Remember that Google only wants quality resources for it's users. Third, You'll need to submit the site to multiple search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. This is an easy process though it might take a little while to get included in all of them. Submitting a sitemap for your site is also highly recommended.

Four, If you have images you need to use keywords in the ALT description for every image. A lot of traffic can come to your site just through people searching for images on Google and Bing. This process really isn't to difficult but it is different depending on what you are using to build/manage your website.

Fifth, Back-links you will really need to put in some work on this because the more websites that are linking to your website the better. The process of getting back-links has options. You can do out right link exchanges with similar websites or you can also do blog commenting. Getting people with similar sites is that difficult if you have a good site, to initiate a link exchange you must contact the sites administrator through e-mail. The other option blog/site commenting will only work if you are offering quality comments that are on topic and aren't spammy.

Be Patient

After accomplishing all the things listed above you'll be on your way to having a winner website. Some of you might have heard of this others not so much but it is something crucial to your success. It's called visualization, it is the thing that all the billionaires and multi-millionaires followed to get to where they are and where they are going.

It blew my mind when I was first was asked that question. What do you mean am I and expert is what I retorted. Then I heard something that has stayed with me to this day. You have to become an expert before you can be properly compensated. What this means is before you can start making the big bucks you have to become an expert, the person everyone looks to.

It took me a second to compute what had just been said to me but once I did I realized it was true. People like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are both considered to be experts in there fields, what makes them different from me or you. Well for one they were precise on what they wanted to get involved in and then they learned everything about that one thing. For Mr.Buffet it was investing and for Bill it was computer programs. So basically all they did was read and now they are the richest people in both America.

I have a challenge for you, if your ready to be rich

My challenge to you is to choose one thing to focus on 100% and read books watch videos and attend seminars for other masters of your chosen subject. To become an expert in something all it takes is ready 5 books on the subject. You can do it you just have to start!

I was conversing with a friend of mine and he asked me "What do you do for a living?" I answered I'm an online marketer. He then tells me he has seen a lot stuff online about it and noticed that a lot of people are doing it, he then says "I was considering it but there is to much competition out there I wouldn't make any money". To those of you who have seen the light that is opportunity on the Internet this is complete BS to you.

However I fear he isn't alone in his way of thinking. There are billions surfing the online on a daily basis some have no doubt read about affiliate marketing. So people who are worried about competition aren't totally crazy, but also keep in mind there are way more people who have no idea about it than those who do. I don't think I need to bring up numbers but there are over 300 million people in America and for you to earn $100,000 all you have to do is sell a $200 item to 500 people, Yes it's that simple. Billions of dollars change hands daily why can't you get pieces of this very large pie?

Internet success comes from creativity not trying to one up people. Having a competitive mind in business has never helped anyone. What you should be concerning yourself with is being creative and branding yourself so you can have people fighting to give you money.

A new year a perfect time for REAL CHANGE

A new year is here and you aren't getting any younger. This is your last day before going back to work on Monday if have a 9-5 job. The trend I've noticed in the past with some of my old friends is this they have the best intentions of making the next year better than the previous. Then almost on the first workday of the new year it's back to the same old same old.

2010 needs to be different. This decade should be the decade you take yourself from where you are now to wealth. This is my challenge to you make a goal whether it's to have a million dollars in your bank account or more than a million, just make some goal of what amount of money you want to have sitting in bank in the next 5-10 years.

The money is out there you can't honestly say that the Bill Gates and Warren Buffets of the world are better than you or can do more than you. They are human beings just like you all they did is set a goal for themselves and pursue it ferociously. You can do the same.

So I want you to write down on a sheet of paper your goals for the next 5 years and your goals for this entire coming decade. Once you have the goals written down I want you to create a plan for which you will go about attaining the goal and carry out those plans. There is no way you cannot succeed if your committed to your goal 100%.
