You can grab it at the PMDG website for download now. I would like to note that, as of the time of publishing, the store is down, possibly due to high demand, and there are reports of things going slow. Given PMDG's reputation, however, it seems likely that the issues will disappear as time goes on.

While the new teaser doesn't really tell us anything, the newly posted FAQ clears a few things up.

Microsoft has announced a new game known as "Microsoft Flight."

While one can only speculate at this point, it seems as if Microsoft will take a more mass market approach with the new simulator. First thing's first: this is not, in essence, an FS2004/X-Plane vs FSX article. Both of those simulators have their advantages and disadvantages compared to FSX; there are plenty of comparisons readily found using a search engine such as Google.

The recent release of the iPad has caused a bit of an uproar from some over the perception that the device is more for the consumption of media than the creation of it.
This got me thinking – is it important that we create content and don't simply consume it, and does this apply to the realm of flight simulation?
In my opinion, the answer to both of those questions is a resounding “yes”.
