Join us for fun, energetic dancing!

Diadie Bathily, professional dancer from Ivory Coast, offers authentic West African dance classes for adults and kids of all levels.

Get a great workout while learning traditional dances from Ivory Coast, Mali and Ghana. Diadie’s classes are designed to improve weight loss, flexibility, and fitness as well as knowledge about Africa and its rich culture.

All classes are accompanied by live African drumming.

Classes are taught in eight-week sessions, but students can join at any time.

Afriky Lolo is presenting: “The Legend of Chi Wara & Kanaga” Both are traditional masks from Mali, West Africa.

Inspired by the rhythmic percussion of Afriky Lolo’s gifted
drummers and performed by a professional cast, the
performance will take audience members on a captivating journey into West African culture, making them feel as if they were right in the heart of the continent.

This workshop is organized by the MU-NAACP Collegiate Chapter’s Economic Education and Empowerment committee to help celebrate black history month through African Dance. The Students plan is to bring “One Drum, One Sound, One Nation” they plan to empower their community while education the community on African cultural dance in Colombia Missouri.
