The movie is really action packed and very interesting to watch even from the very beginning. Besides all the actions, there were laughter in the script and romance in the air.

The cast includes Sienna Miller (as Ana or Baroness), Byung-Hun Lee (as Storm Shadow), Rachel Nicols(as Scarlet), the handsome Channing Tatum ( as Duke), Marlon Wayans (as Ripcord) and many more. View more on the cast and movie here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046173/fullcredits#cast

The only complaint I have about this movie is that they did not elaborate on how the team got together and why was G.I Joe established. Halfway through the movie, I was wondering what G.I Joe stands for. So, I wiki about it and here is what I got from the result. The initial product offering represented four of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces with the Action Soldier (Army), Action Sailor (Navy), Action Pilot (Air Force) and Action Marine (Marines). The term G.I. stands for Government Issue.

Interesting isn’t it?

In the movie, my favorite cast would be Ripcord. He is funny and he talks a lot. What’s mroe important is that he is very very loyal to his buddy, Duke. It’s hard to find a good friend and perhaps that is why I like him a lot.

Here is the movie trailer and I strongly recommend you to watch this movie.

Unfortunately, recently I dicovered that I was also a phantom in a musical played but someone else.

Have you ever tried to google for yourself? Type your name in the search box and just see what turns up. I did so recently out of curiosity. I typed in my full name with the “ ” and any webpages with my name indside appears in the result page. And guess what rank number 3?

The first two webpages was something I am familiar with because I used to register myself as a tutor in my college year. But, the third result was this : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/harakahdaily/message/2668.

Finding my name appearing in this website with a lot of other names is surprising enough but it shocked me to see that my IC number were stated as well. Then, I scroll up and read. These are the members of MCA registered in 2001. What? I have never register myself as a MCA member. Then I started to recall the news I read in the papers some years back regarding phantom members in the political parties in Malaysia. Am I one of them?

Since it is registered by a professor in TARC, I type in a few more of my college friends’ name and found two of my course mates were also listed. I am 100% sure I did not register myself by filling any forms but again the college have access to all our personal information so they can easily manipulate the information. This is just too unfair. I hate the fact that my IC number is being published and made known to everyone in the world. Who knows what others can do with it.

I called MCA headquarters to check if the membership is still valid. All I need to do to give them my IC number and they could check my membership over the telephone with no further verification required. According to her, I was registered in 2001 in Cheras branch for a year. She even tried to get me to reactivate the account with only RM 20.00 per year or RM 100.00 for life-time membership. I merely thank her and hang up. This is just too absurd. In 2001, I was a year One student in my college and have never ever been to Cheras. I do not stay there, do not study in that area, do not work there and do not have a relative who stayed there so why would I register with the MCA branch there? But, should I just report this abuse to MCA? or should I file a report with other parties? Which is white? Who is in the dark?

I have no answers to all the questions. All I know is that…..I was a PHANTOM.

For many Malaysian, this the best time to shop and get bargain. That dress you long to buy or the shoes you have always wanted, now is at a discounted price. How can you miss this?

I for one will not miss this chance. But, I am not a shopaholic also. There are times where there is sales but I just could not get anything I like. I am just the type of person, who wants the dress but totally forget about it after I leave the mall.

G2000 was one of the boutique offering discount up to 50% this round. My boyfriend and I love their clothes because of the quality for work clothes.

Then, we receive a sms promotion because we were the privilege members of the store. I may add that it is not cheap to be their member. This is EXACTLY how the sms is written :

“G2000 Presale Special - Premium Cardholders enjoy additional 20% on all sale items from 22-26 July ‘09 at all G2000 shops. T&C apply.”

Oh, we are well aware with the word terms and conditions apply. And we know how the terms and conditions are manipulated by marketing personnel. We thought we should at least pay a visit to the store and find out ourselves.

We went to the Sunway store and this is what it is written on the display (this is not the exact words by close enough):

“1st and 2nd pc at 30% off, 3 piece at 50%”

We were stunned. Now, if members get additional 20% on top of that 50% that means we get 70%. So, we selected the designs we wanted and asked for the size. Again, I check with the staff there if all these were at 50% for all 3 pieces. He said, “Yes”. Then I asked, so members gets additional 20%? He said ” Yes”

Great! We asked for our size for the designs and waited patiently. The staff came back and unfortunately only one of the designs has the right size. We decided to try another outlet. That is how we ended up in Mid Valley. It’s easier now because we know what we want to get. I just pick and pick and head straight to the store staff. Before I asked him to get the size for us, I asked him again if all the ones I choose which is a total of 3 pieces is at 50% off. He once again confirmed it. Then I asked him ” So, if we are member it will be 70% off then?”

His answer not only surprised us but we felt as though we have been tricked. He say, “if you take the 3 pieces for 50% each, you won’t be entitled to the additional 20% discount” We look at him puzzled then I ask “So, if I take 2 pieces then it will be a 30% + 20% for members?” His answer again nearly made us furious. He said ” No, only one of the piece is at 30% + 20% for member while the 2nd piece is only at 30%. Let’s see how this works:

2 pieces : 1st piece at 50%, 2nd piece at 30% (member)

1st and 2nd piece at 30% (non-member)

3 pieces : 50% each (member)

50% (non member)

So, tell me what is the meaning of pre-sale for privilege members? and how much G2000 appreciate members like us. We end up deciding to still get 3 pieces since it is already at 50% off, so it will still be worth it although we felt cheated. Unfortunately, again there were only one design that has the size we wanted. Well, 1 piece is still at 50% (30% +20%) so we still go with one then. As my boyfriend was queuing up to pay, I just find either the marketing department for G2000 has really lousy calculation method or they are just being funny. There were also a lady at the same time buying a tie and another store staff told her that the tie is at 30% discount and 50% discount for members.

That was not the end of us feeling fooled by this sales gimmick of G2000. When it is finally our turn, it turns out that it was NOT at 50% !!!! The discount is calculated this way:

The shirt was at RM 159.00

Our thoughts of 50% (30% + 20%) = RM 79.50

G2000 way of calculating = RM 159.00 - 30% = RM111.30 and then RM 111.30 - 20% = RM 89.04

How can this be when the store staff is telling us that member gets 50%. They have totally misled us and gave us the wrong information. Moreover, look at the whole thing and what is the benefit of having this pre-sale for member and what privilege did we really get? I as a marketing person cannot accept this at all.

So, beware to all of you who is a member of some store or if you are buying during sales…do read in between the lines, be careful of finely printed terms and asked again and again regarding the discount.

Is this a sale or a scam?

I was so excited, we went to see Harry Porter and the Half Blood Prince last Saturday. It was only launched last Thursday on 16th July 2009. We bought two tickets for TGV Sunway Pyramid online and paid for the 12.10 p.m show.

Our plan was to have a light brunch in Sunway and walk around before the movie starts. Of course, we have in mind some relly tasty caramel popcorn to go with this fabulous movie that we have never failed to catch up since the part 1.

Unfortunately, our Saturday plan did not went as we thought it would be. We had great brunch but the experience with TGV and the movie was rather disappointing. We went to collect our ticket at 11.55 a.m, 15 minutes before the movie starts. Sadly, there were no special counter for those who have paid online so we are asked to queue up in the booking counter line. We were shocked when we see that it was an extremely long line but usually it was pretty quick because people are just collecting their tickets. However, after 10 mins, we are still at the same standstill.

I was feeling curious so I walked in front towards the counter and I realize people who have not booked their tickets are also queuing in this line to purchase their tickets. This is supposed to be for booking collection only. No wonder the line did not move because they were taking time to choose the movie they want and also picking their seats. I was furious, I paid for the tickets ahead and now I may just missed part of the movie because the staff of TGV did not follow the procedure. When it was finally our turn, we told the counter staff that she should not allow purchase on this queue because it will slow down the people who have booked their tickets and may cause them to missed their movie. She, in a very bad manner reply our comment. We were very frustrated with such standard of service, we took down her name and decided we should file a complaint.

The lucky part was we did not missed the movie, but we had to go through such bad experience early in the day. Now the movie part.

This round, there were not much of action in the movie. No confronting with the you-know-who devil and really not so much of magic. It was pretty funny though becauce there were a lot of high school crush and lovey dovey scenes involving between Ron, Hermione, Harry and Ginny. The movie was about two and half hour but really we do not feel the excitement of magic and there was no extraordinary creatures this time to take our breathe away.

The ending was really disappointing because we will need to wait for the next part to find out. Yes, there is no definite ending except the death of our most dear Professor Dumbledore. He died not in the hands of the powerful Lord Voldemort but in the hands of someone he trusted and somewhere in between you can sense that there are more mysteries plot in his death. BUT…wait till the next part of the movie and that probably will only be in a year’s time. How disappointing…

Overall, the movie as really SO-SO only. But, I can bravely said that TGV offers bad service in terms of their online purchase and also staff attitude. I will not watch another movie in any TGV.

I read an article in Cleo last month. For many, they may not pay attention to such article but perhaps I have come across many friends who were or somehow related to the topic so I find it rather interesting. The title of the article is “When You Are The Other Woman”.

Love is blind, many woman use this as a reason to be a third party. Whether he is a married man or is involve in another relationship, somehow he still manage to capture the heart of other woman. I have a friend, Mary (not real name) who has been involved with a married man for years. To her, she gets the freedom of not being totally committed to a relationship and have more time to herself than having a full time boyfriend. All she needs was the money provided by the man and the companion she gets once in a while.

I have also had a friend who is the other woman. She suffers through pain and hurt but still remains being the other woman. When his wife called, she felt jealous. She could not totally own him but she could not let him go either. Is this worth it?

I think the rules of the game, if you ever want to be the other woman is to be ready to face all the consequences. You must be an easy going person. To let him be in someone else’s possession and to know where you stand.

No one is guilty in love. But, if everyone holds on to principal or morality in their life perhaps there won’t be any affair in marriage or betrayal in love. Can love is blind good enough to be a reason to cheat your partner?

Here, I share with you 3 types of affairs as written in Cleo magazine:

Type 1: The Adulterous Relationship

“Compensates for a defective partnership, in which there is a major lack but none serious enough to terminate the relationship”.- In other words, there is something the guy ain’t getting from his honey, which is why he wants you. It’s not always physical, though, so don’t make anyassumption that he is just being horny.

Type 2: The Discontinuous Relationship

“A person of either sex strays because he or she experiences a ‘discontinuous relationship’, in which one of the partners is away for a long time for some reason.”- In other words, his Girlfriend’s hardly ever around, and so he needs to get it off with someone else, i.e., you. Again, his motives might not be physical.

Type 3: The Polygamous Relationship

“The attached person does not accept a ‘monogamous commitment’ in his or her personal life, although he or she may feel committed to marriage or parenthood.” - In other words, he’s dedicated swinger and will expect nothing less than the same from you.

The most talked about movie since the past few weeks; Transformer 2: Revenge of The Fallen. If you watched the first episode, you would remember the Decepticons named Starscream who fled the earth when his fellow teammates were defeated by the Autobots. Now, it has return to revenge with more Decepticons and more action.

I have watched the first episode again and again. Nope, I was never a fan of Transformer when I was a child but the first episode was really cool and I find it entertaining although watched n number of times. I especially liked the scene in Sam’s yard and how Prime’s deep voice give commands to his fellow Autobots.

I dare claim that I was among the few that has gotten the tickets so much earlier and watched this 2nd episode. I heard that ticket were all sold out and some had to wait for a week or two for their seats. Lucky me, I got it through a friend and that promotional tickets even come with popcorn and drinks. Here is a short clip I found on YouTube.

The actual movie was still nice, lots of action but if I were to compare it with 1st episode; I would say that the first one is better. This latest episode has too many Decepticons coming and dying in minutes that you find it so confusing. Before you could really identify them or take a good look at them, they died off.

Second reason I prefer the first episode was also because most of the scene does not have Optimus Prime. Well, let’s just say he died in most the scene except few in front and at the back. When he rose again about 10 minutes towards the ending, Decepticone were defeated so fast that you hardly see Prime in action. In fact, there were not much scenes on Autobots and their action. It is all about Decepticons in this episode. I want my Autobots; I want my Bumblebee.

The last reason I don’t like about this episode is the ending where Starscream again escaped which of course means there will be another episode after this but again, does not create the excitement in me because it is again the same culprit that escaped.

I guess you can say that, I personally think that too much action does not always means it is a great movie. I feel that the story line should be more compact and in detailed and not just showing off some advanced technology or props.

You should watch and judge it yourself.

I am sure you have heard of this big food retail chain by local Malaysian. It was before gym and I have no idea what should I take for lunch so as I walked around Sunway Pyramid, I just decided to walk into this shop. It was my second time in this food restaurant.

The whole restaurant was decorated with photos of fisherman, ships and also the tools for fishing. You feel like you have just walked into a fishing boat.

The waiter handed out a menu and I took a long glance at it still could not decide what to have. I can see many teenagers frequent this restaurant some as young as secondary schoolers. If I am not mistaken, TMFM is famous for its fish and chips so I just pointed it out to the waiter and patiently waits for my food.

I was feeling bored so I took some photos of its table decoration which I find it quite properly done.

As I waited I felt that it is taking ages for me to get my food. So, I checked with the waiter again and he politely said he would take a look. Finally, my food was served.

The fish and chips were not up to my expectation. There was another restaurant like this in One Utama, I think it is called the Fish Shop or something and that was so much better. I could not even finish my portion because I think the batter for the fish was too thick thus I ended up eating a lot of flour instead. There were dippings for the fish and chips such as chilli sauce, preserved garlic and also tartar sauce which I find nothing special to it. The fried fish fillet was too oily. Overall, I did not quite like it and for the price I pay I do not think it’s worth it.

The first time I frequent the shop, I had some grilled combo and it was good. Probably they are just not good with fish and chip. Who knows?

I hope you have given it a try. Not long ago, I visited the place again with my mum and sister and had some different dishes this time so I would like to share it with you.

The only thing I was really not happy about is their degraded service performance of the staff. First, they brought me the wrong drinks which I have accepted and drink without arguments. Then, even the food was wrong. We had actually pointed out the the waiter. Worst thing is, when I tell him it was the wrong order he tried to deny and blame me for the wrong order. So, I told him even the drink was not what I want so please change it for me and he still tried to defend himself. My boyfriend got so upset that he purposely raise his voice and the owner was there so he came to attend to our matter. Although he apologized, but we still don’t feel good.

Inevitably, the food was still good. So here are more photos on the food and the interior deco that I did not took last round.

I was on my way to a movie in Cineleisure and could not decide what to have for dinner. It is end of the month so I do not want to go for something too expensive but yet could nto stand the thought of some bad tasting food that will ruin my evening. My boyfriend suggested a detour to Damansara Utama for a meal before heading to movie. He used to work around the area and there is this shop that serves Malaysian food and tastes so great that it is always packed during lunches.

The shop is just situated on the same row as Cat’s Whiskers. We were so hungry and could not wait to try the food. When we were handed the menu, we knew what we want; the famous Nasi Lemak. Well, actually I wanted to try the Nasi Kandar but unfortunately it was sold out for the day. It took only about 5 minutes for the food to be served. The rice is so home cooked and the smell of coconut milk is just superb. The sambal belacan is exquisite but nothing could beat the crispy fried chicken.

The restaurant’s is run by a Chinese couple but there were many Malays eating here and they all seems to know the owner very well. Usually, nasi lemak will cost you RM 4.50 top, but this plate of nasi lemak cost more that the ordinary. I guess this what meant by you pay for what you get. As you can see, a lot of newspapers have covers the story of this restaurant so no doubt this is a recommended shop.

Maybe we were too hungry and with empty stomach you should not have taken any food with coconut milk. So, both of us did not enjoyed the after dinner effects especially when we had plans for a movie. Anyway, do try this shop out.

Can’t blame me though, the country’s facing economy crisis so I have to save money and spend only when necessary. That is what they say, but still so many people are shopping and eating out; the malls are all packed. So, what economy crunch are we dealing with? Anyhow, I decided that I should recommend not too expensive but taste great food so everyone can still eat their heart out but in a much economical way.

This is a shop I have been to a few times. Last week I went there with my sister and KL. It is just a one lot shop in Taman Danau Desa that serves Taiwanese style Dim Sum. Yup, I sure sound like the dim sum queen since this is the who-knows-how many times I blog about dim sum. I just cannot get over with it.

The boss of the shop was always there, serving you with a smile. Apparently, the two chefs are very young. We looked through menu, and picked few different dim sum to try. We definitely cannot forget to order the famous Golden Sands Bun; this is the only shop we could have this type of dim sum. It looks normal on the outside, but inside it is melted salted egg york with butter. One bite, the whole thing just melt tastefully in your mouth. Be careful, because it could cause a mess.

If you are a dim sum eater, you know you cannot miss the prawn dumpling and pork dumpling. I was anxious to find out what is the difference between the taiwanese style and the local. It was quite a disappointment when I tried and realize it was just so-so. Nothing to brag about, but the prawns were definitely fresh and the skin of the dumpling was not easily tear.

Then, we get to each pick one of our favorites must have dim sum dish. I chose the steamed rice roll with prawn. I love it with the sauce and the sambal belacan. My sister asked for the carrot cake. There were few types of carrot cake, steamed, fried and stir fried so in the end she selected the stir fried. KL was very happy that they served egg tarts and immediately set his mind on them.

The steamed rice roll or more often known as chee cheong fun was good. The rice roll was not awfully soft but just the right texture, and like the prawn dumplings; the prawns was fresh. Dressed with the sauce and wonderful sambal, it is suited to my perfect style.

The egg tarts here are very different than those sold in bakeries. These are mini sized and you can gulp them up in a mouth. Very delicately done and I just find them looking so cute. The down side of this is that, after you swallowed it you felt as though you have not eaten it. You could hardly taste the egg filling. KL seems to like it a lot.

My sister’s stir fried carrot cake arrived just at the right time since we have finished all the previously served dim sum. It was ok, just not up to my expectations. I always like it with a lot of diced radish but this does not have them at all. Besides this, the taste were alright and the carrot cake is not squashed and sticky.

It was early in the morning so we did not feel like having chinese tea as traditionally people would went they eat dim sum. All of us decided to go for the gingko barley dessert as our drink. This was the worst for the whole morning. It was not that bad in taste but rather, the bean curd was not soft enough and as you can see, it is still such a big piece so we know that they did not boil the dessert long enough.

But, overall the shop was average and the food was reasonably priced. It is kind of difficult to get a car park at this place so you may have to walk a bit but it is definitely worthwhile. If you have the chance, try it out
