Na Grécia antiga esta planta era dedicada à deusa &lt;strong&gt;Artemis&lt;/strong&gt;. É uma erva originária da Europa e da Ásia, de folhas recortadas de cor cinzenta, de sabor amargo e utilizada como planta medicinal e na fabricação da bebida conhecida como Absinto.&lt;br /&gt;O absinto contém pequenas quantidades de &lt;strong&gt;tujona&lt;/strong&gt;, que se pensou outrora ser relacionado com o &lt;strong&gt;THC (tetrahidrocanabinol)&lt;/strong&gt;. A bebida foi inventada como remédio para todos os males pelo &lt;strong&gt;Dr. Pierre Ordinaire&lt;/strong&gt;, um médico francês. O absinto foi especialmente popular na França, pela ligação aos artistas parisienses de finais do século XIX, até a sua proibição em 1915, tendo ganho alguma popularidade com a sua legalização em vários países.&lt;br /&gt;A bebida também é conhecida popularmente como &lt;strong&gt;Fada Verde&lt;/strong&gt; em virtude de um suposto efeito alucinógeno. Uma dose de whisky, uma taça de vinho, um copo com água e até mesmo um cocktail é um drink.
