Haven’t drawn a spaceship in a long while.  Did this for fun at lunch today. It’s the Accipitor Class. It attacks, it transports, it does it all…but mostly attacks, I think. More focused on the design than the thinking behind it on this one.

Lots going on right now.  Big deadline coming this weekend for a children’s book I’m doing.  Excited for this one.  More on it later.

Below is a breakdown of how I made the image; starting with a photo I found on gettyimages.com all the way to final. I wish I had time to write out what I’m doing in each iteration. If you have any specific questions just ask. Also, I based the giant terraforming engine in the background on this concept by Brandon Dayton.

Another samurai. Man, these guys are fun to draw.  I want to do a comic about them now.  I haven’t posted a step-by-step process piece in a while.  The original sketch was done on the cintiq, and as usual has a lot more energy than the finished piece. Someday I’ll figure out how to keep the energy all the way through to the final.   Click for larger:

Hadn’t drawn a samurai in a long time…maybe never.  This drawing was to remedy that.

“Hey, you know where I can get a copy of INKtober?” said the boy in the big metal man. The grey rabbit did not answer immediately as was custom for most rabbits the boy had encountered on his journey.  After much thought the rabbit spoke, “Over the hill and through a small wood is a village. There, you will find a shop of sorts.  They sell this Ink…tober book you speak of.”  The boy thanked the rabbit, slammed the heavy iron door shut and fired up the engine.  Soon he’d have the book in hand, beholding it’s secrets.  If any thought was given to the rabbit who guided him there it would soon be forgotten. The rabbit, on the other hand, knew very well their paths would cross again…

INKtober is now available in the Agent44 online store.  This is an unlimited second printing ladies and gentlemen, so it’s not numbered nor does it come with an original ink drawing. That ship sailed a long time ago.  But it is signed and I will do a sketch in it!  Here’s the link:

I was fishing through my briefcase and found these creepy dudes I did a couple months ago.

This was a quick piece I did for Draw Force.  I was on my way to overworking it, when my fellow Draw Force Team Mate Willie told me to just post it as is.  He was right.  It’s fine as it is.

I’ve been out and about the past few weeks.  Comic-Con was spectacular.  Spent a few days at the beach in Greenport. Popped into Utah for a couple days.  Now it’s time to buckle down and get some work done. Lots of stuff going on right now.  I’ll be sure to post about it when things solidify a little more.
