I’m sorry that I didn’t have a new painting for you the last two weeks but we were in France for three weeks and then things were crazy once we got back so I wasn’t able to share a new painting. Here is a great painting for you today though.

This painting will take about 20 minutes or so to complete and would be good to turn into a card or frame it.

These are the stamps that I used to create this painting. Feel free to use whatever branches or flowers you have to make this painting your own.

Here are the markers that I used but again, use any colors that you’d like.

• No 46 Crimson Lake
• No 86 African Violet
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 45 Sepia
• No 42 Cream Yellow
• No 17 Steel Blue
• No 72 Pine Green

I painted this on a 4×5 painting because that is what I had on hand but you could easily make it on a 4×6.

And now I have a confession… I took REALLY bad step by step photos for this painting and didn’t realize it until I was editing them so if you want to create this painting, you will need to watch my step by step video tutorial and you can just paint along right with me.

It is time for another Watercolor Wednesday and I am here to show you how to create this “View from Shore” watercolor painting.

It only uses three stamp sets and a few markers so you can easily do it within a small window of time.

Let me show you how to create this for yourself.

To create this painting, you’ll need the Original Foliage set, the Boat set, and the Fairy Door set or another set with a large tree.

I used these markers for this painting but you can change up the colors.

• No 45 Sepia
• No 86 African Violet
• No 72 Pine Green
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 29 Prussian Blue
• No 17 Steel Blue

I created this painting on a 5×5 piece of watercolor paper.

Begin by inking the tree stamp with Sepia.

Press the tree on the left side of the paper, more towards the bottom to leave room for the leaves.

Since this tree is for a fairy door, it has a blank area at the bottom of the trunk. Using the thin side of the sepia marker, draw in some lines to fill in this area with more tree bark.

Dip your brush in water and drag the color out of the lines. This will be the only color we paint to our tree so add some layers where there would be shadows. If any of the lines get washed out, use the thin tip of the marker to draw them back in.

Ink the leaves with Pine Green. You don’t have to ink the entire stamp, as it is rather large, but be sure to press the stamp two or three times before applying more ink. Work your way around the tree, adding as many leaves as you like.

Dip your brush in water and pinch it off then dab the leaves to soften them and give them the watercolor effect.

Ink the mini grass stamp with Olive Green. Press that stamp at a diagonal to create the shore line then add some around the base of the tree and here and there. Dip your brush in water and drag the color up and out.

Paint in the water with African Violet and a little bit of Prussian Blue. Be sure to leave some white areas in the water.

Also, ink the small boat with sepia then African Violet and press the boat into the water. I then used a mixture of the colors to paint in the base of the boat and Prussian Blue for the sails.

Here is a closer shot of the boat. I added some stripes for fun using the thin tip of African Violet.

Use some steel blue to paint in the sky and that’s everything!

Sign and date it and that’s it!

Pop it in a frame or turn it into a card to give away.

This painting take us back to the basics a little bit but I wanted to create something with bright and cheery colors so I thought this would be a great way to achieve that. Here’s how to create it.

Here are the Art Impression stamps I used to create this painting. If you don’t have these exact flowers or leaves, use what you do have on hand.

I moved away from my normal color palette to do something super bright and colorful. Here are the markers that I used.

• No 45 Sepia
• No 8 Violet
• No 36 Manganese Blue
• No 96 Jungle Green
• No 5 Yellow
• No 22 Lemon Yellow
• No 94 Scarlet
• No 19 Carmine
• No 83 Butterscotch

I used another leftover piece of watercolor paper so this size is a 4×5.

Begin by inking the pitcher with sepia.

Press the pitcher in the center of the paper but down toward the bottom so you have room for the flowers and leaves.

Drag the color out of the lines focusing on the sides, bottom, inside the handle, and the bottom side of the spout.

Now it is time to paint the body of the pitcher. Begin with the Lemon Yellow and paint it throughout but leaving a highlight in the center of the pitcher. Then, using just Yellow, go back over the lemon yellow down the sides, bottom, under the spout, and inside the handle. Once the yellow dries, just add a tiny bit of sepia toward the bottom of the pitcher.

Ink the daisy bunch stamp with Carmine, you can do whole stamp or only half of it, but just stamp it where ever you’d like to have them in the arrangement.

Dip your brush in water and pinch it off and dab at the flowers to soften.

Ink the vine stamp with Jungle Green and then stamp it around the flowers to fill the area. Dip your brush in water and soften the vines.

Ink the stem flowers with butterscotch and add them to the outside to add a little more color. Add a tiny bit of water to the flowers.

Lastly, paint a table top for the pitcher to sit on with the violet and then paint the background with the manganese blue. And if you’d like, paint some stripes on the pitcher with the scarlet.

There you have it! Sign and date it decide if you want to turn it into a card or pop it in a frame. It makes a great gift to brightened someone’s day.

This week’s painting is using another recent stamp set that arrived last week. It does take a little time, especially in the beginning, but once we have the main image complete, the rest is smooth sailing.

I used the Wooden Gate stamp set to create this larger wooden fence painting. You could totally customize this to any color or add more to the background as well.

Here’s how to create this painting.

These are the stamps set that I used to create this painting. Each stamp is circled. Use any flower or vine stamps that you have if you don’t have these exact ones.

I went with my normal color palette for this painting but change it up to fit you. The colors I used are:

• No 86 African Violet
• No 45 Sepia
• No 20 Magenta
• No 72 Pine Green
• No 17 Steel Blue
• No 15 Olive Green

This painting is painted on a 5×7 piece of watercolor paper.

Begin by inking up the entire gate with Sepia followed by African Violet.

Press the stamp directly in the center of the paper.

Now, clean off the top gate portion of the stamp as well as the gate hinges and gate handle, AND the right column of the stamp. Once you have all that cleaned off, reink the rest of the stamp.

Use your positioner to add the right side of the fence to the paper. Line up the left side of the fence with the column from the gate. When aligned, remove positioner and stamp in place.

Here is the right side of the fence stamped.

Repeat the cleaning process but this time, leave the left column clean and reapply the ink the the rest of the stamp.

Again, use the positioner to get the fence into place before stamping.

When the positioner is lined up, remove and press the stamp to the paper. Now the fence is complete!

As for painting the fence itself, we are only dragging color out of the lines to “paint” the fence. So drag color out where the shadows will be and add a few other spots of color here and there.

Once you are happy with the fence, ink the vine with the Olive Green .

Press the stamp around the top of the gate and then peaking up around the back of the fence and around the sides of it.

Next, ink the grass stamp with Olive Green and add it to the base of each column.

Dip your brush in water and dab the vines to soften the color. Then drag the grass up and out as well.

Ink the flower blooms with magenta and add those around the vines. Dip your brush in water and dab to soften.

Last stamp are the flower stems. Ink the stem with pine green and the blooms with violet and press the stamp a few times before reapplying the ink. Only add water to the blooms.

And last but now least, use the steel blue to add some sky around your fence and blooms. Then using sepia, add a little dirt path leading up the gate and if you’d like, add a little more green in between the grasses for a little more color.

And that’s it! Sign and date it and pop it into a frame to display.

This painting uses four stamp sets but you can easily customize it to use whatever stamps you do have.

Let’s get started!

The stamp sets that I used to create this painting is the Fairy Door Set, the original Foliage Set, Flower set 2 and then the Original Flower set. Each stamp that I used is circled.

I didn’t use a ton of markers this time but here is what I did use:

• No 45 Sepia
• No 46 Crimson Lake
• No 43 Brilliant Yellow
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 17 Steel Blue
• No 86 African Violet

The size of my watercolor paper is a 4×5 as I had it sitting around after another project but you could definitely create this on a 4×6 sheet to make it easier to frame.

Begin by inking the large tree with Sepia.

Press the tree ever so slightly below center of your paper to make sure you have enough room for the leaves.

Ink the door with African Violet and the use the positioner to get the door right where you want it.

Apply Sepia to the stamp the press the door into position.

Next, drag the color our of the lines of the tree. This is actually all the color we will be adding to the tree so drag as much out as you’d like. You can also paint more color in if you don’t want to keep your tree so white.

Next, paint in the shadow of the door, the doorknob, and rocks with a mix of sepia and African Violet.

Ink the vine up with Olive Green. You don’t have to ink the entire vine. I only used half to 3/4 of the stamp each time I applied more ink.

Press the leaves all around to create the tree canopy. You can add as many leaves as you want. Remember to press the stamp three to four times before applying more ink.

Dip your brush in water and pinch it off and dab the leaves to softened them and spread the olive green ink.

Paint the door with the Crimson Lake. You will need to apply multiple layers to the door to get it dark red. Add some African Violet and Sepia to create areas that are darker.

Ink the mini grass stamp with olive green and add grass around the base of the tree. Drag the color up and out. I also added a little sepia in the center to create a little walkway up to the critter’s door. And then used the thin tip of the red and sepia markers to add lines to my door for added detail once it was dry.

Ink the small blooms with Brilliant Yellow and the stems olive green and add those on both sides of the tree. Slightly touch the blooms with your brush. Once dry, touch the center of the flowers with the thin tip of the brilliant yellow marker.

Ink the other small blooms with African Violet and add around the base of the tree.

Lastly, paint in the sky using Steel Blue.

And that’s it! Sign and date and either pop it into a frame or turn it into a card.

This would even be really cute if you added the sleeping fox or rabbit from the animal set.

Today I am showing you how to create this adorable “Girl’s Best Friend” watercolor painting. This can easily be customized to whatever hair color you want, the look of the dog, turn the girl into a boy, whatever so it is special for you.

Let’s get started shall we?!

I used five stamp sets from Art Impressions- Mini Flower Set, Foliage Set 1, Little Girls Set, Dog Set, and the Sitting Places Set. Each stamp that I used is circled.

Here are the colors that I used but feel free to change these up to fit your painting.

• No 18 Dark Brown
• No 29 Prussian Blue
• No 20 Magenta
• No 16 Pale Orange
• No 45 Sepia
• No 42 Cream Yellow
• Mo 86 African Violet
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 30 Rosewood
• No 17 Steel Blue
• No 22 Lemon Yellow

This paper is an odd size, 4×5, but I had it just sitting around so I used it. You could do this on a 4×6 piece of paper to make it easier to frame.

Begin by inking the little girl stamp with Sepia. Press the stamp onto the paper center left.

On a piece of post it tape or a post it note, stamp the bottom half of the girl then cut it out. Place the mask directly over the bottom half of her to protect her from placing the rock under her. It’s hard to tell but the mask is sitting on her in this photo.

Ink the rock with African Violet and stamp it on the positioner. Place the positioner where you want it then reink the stamp with African Violet followed by Sepia. You can do this without a positioner but you’ll have to eye ball where you place the rocks.

After reinking the stamp, use the outer positioner to press the stamp into place. As you can see, the rock overlays the little girl but since we masked her off, everything is fine!

Remove the mask and check her out sitting on that little rock.

Ink the little dog with sepia and place it to the right of the little girl.

Now it is time to drag the color out of the lines. Drag the color out any where there would be a shadow on the dog, little girl, and rock.

Time to paint it in.

Paint the rock with a mix of African Violet and Sepia. Remember to leave highlights on the top side of the rocks.

Paint in the little girl’s overalls with Prussian Blue, her shirt and headband Magenta, her skin is Pale Orange, and her hair is a mixture of rosewood, cream yellow, and lemon yellow.

Paint the dog in with dark brown followed by sepia.

You can change up and customize any of these items to personalize the painting to yourself or whoever you are painting for.

Ink the grass stamp with Olive Green and stamp it around the rock and dog. Press the stamp three or four times for applying more ink. Dip your brush in water and pinch it off and brush the grass up and out.

Ink the flower with olive green on the stem and then the petals with African Violet. Add as many flowers as you’d like. Only add water to the petals.

Paint in the sky with Steel Blue.

The last step is to take the thin end of the Sepia marker and draw in any lines that may have washed away and then darken any lines near shadows. You can also take the thin end of the African Violet and add some tiny dots to the inside of the flowers for a small additional detail.

And that’s it!!

Sign and date it and decide what you’d like to do with it. Pop into a frame or turn into a card to give to a friend.

Today, I am sharing this simple little painting that I am calling, A Quiet Place to Sit. It just looks like the perfect spot to sit, relax, and maybe think about everything that is going on in the world right now.

This painting should take about twenty minutes to create and only uses three stamps so it is an easy one to create.

Here’s how to create it.

I used stamps from the Bench Set, Foliage 4 Set, and the Old Barn Set, each stamp is circled. You could also use the large tree from the Tree Set if you don’t have the Old Barn Set and feel free to use either bench or vine as well.

I used the colors:

• No 43 Brilliant Yellow
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 85 Mocha
• No 86 African Violet
• No 17 Steel Blue

We will also use the Molotow Masking pen for this painting but if you don’t have one, you can still create this painting.

The paper size for this painting is a 3 x 4 this time.

Begin by deciding about where the leaves of your tree will sit. Then using the masking fluid, create lots of little dots in that area. Let the masking fluid dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Once the masking fluid is dry, ink the tree with Mocha and stamp it onto the paper so the branches are within the dots. Dip your brush in water and pinch it off, then lightly paint in the trunk of the tree and the fat areas of the branches. Don’t apply water to the branches where they are just a single thin line.

Next, ink the small vine stamp with Olive Green and stamp in the leaves. Press the stamp at least three times before applying more ink and just work your way around the tree rotating the stamp in different directions while you stamp.

Dip your brush in water and then soften the leaves. Be sure to spread the color so it covers all of the masking fluid but leave some white areas to make it look more natural.

Using Mocha followed by African Violet, ink the bench stamp. Press the stamp so it is at the bottom left of the tree. Carefully add water to the bench seat and back slats.

Using Olive Green, paint in some grass. Use a little African Violet to create some shadows in the grass from the tree and the bench.

Paint in the sky with the Steel Blue.

Once the leaves are completely dry, use your finger or an eraser and remove the masking fluid from your paper. In those white areas where the masking fluid was, add some Brilliant Yellow to create little blossoms in the tree. Use the thin tip of the brush to add a little dot to the flowers for a small tiny detail.

Add a few blossoms in the grass like they’ve fallen from the tree. And lastly, using the thin tip of your green, create some grass around the bench, base of tree trunk, and here and there in the grass for a little added detail.

And that’s it! Sign and date it and you are done!

This would make a great “thinking of you” card or even just a small framed photo.

This week I will be teaching you how to create this Flower Truck Painting. This truck stamp can be a little intimidating but with some practice, you can create an awesome little painting with it.

Here’s how to create this sweet little painting.

We will be using three stamps for this painting. The truck from the Truck set, the small flower bunch from the mini flower set, and then from the original foliage set, the mini grasses. I forgot to pull that paper out for the photo.

I used these six Marvy Le Plume II Marker colors but feel free to change them up to whatever you’d like.

• No 45 Sepia
• No 86 African Violet
• No 15 Olive Green
• No 17 Steel Blue
• No 105 Lt. Teal
• No 43 Brilliant Yellow

This painting is created on a 4×4 square of watercolor paper.

Begin by inking the truck with African Violet followed immediately with Sepia then stamp the truck off on a spare piece of paper to remove excess ink.

Press the truck stamp into the center of your watercolor paper.

Dip your brush in water and pinch it off and now it is time to drag the color out of the lines. Think about where it will be dark on the truck or where there would be some shadows and focus the color drag in those areas.

Using Lt. Teal, paint in the body of the truck. Remember to start light and apply multiple layers of paint to make areas that are darker. Add African Violet under the wheel wells to make that area dark and use both African Violet and Sepia on the ties.

Once you have the truck painted, use the thin side of your African Violet and retrace any lines that may have gotten a little light while painting the body.

Ink the mini grass stamp with olive green and press the stamp under the tires and then away from the truck in a few spots to create the look of a grassy field.

Drag the color up and out from the blades of grass then using the same olive green, add some more grass under the truck and around the grass. Add some sepia or African Violet in the area under the truck to create a shadow.

Mask off the bed of the truck with some post-it tape or a post-it note.

Ink the flower stamp with brilliant yellow on the blooms then olive green on the stems and press the stamp multiple times in the bed of the truck. Soften the flowers with water.

Using Steel Blue, paint in the sky.

And there you have it! Sign and date it and you are done!!

This truck stamp is so versatile that you can create all sorts of awesome paintings with it.

This week I have this super quick and simple Beach Sunset Watercolor painting to share with you.

This painting can easily changed up using different colors for the sky and guess what… it only uses ONE stamp!

Let’s get started!

This is the only stamp we will be using for this painting. It can’t get much easier than this.

You will only need four markers unless you decide to change up the sunset a little. I used:

• No 86 African Violet
• No 19 Carmine
• No 49 Vermilion
• No 15 of a Black TomBow

This painting is created on a 4×4 square of watercolor paper.

Begin by drawing a circle in the center of your page. I traced around the outer ring of my mason jar lid.

On your pallet, mix some African Violet with the Black to create a darker purple color. This will be used for the beach. Paint in the beach.

Next, use the vermilion to paint the first section of the sky. Make this section as large as you’d like.

Then, use the Carmine to add the next layer of the sky overlapping over the orange a little to blend the two layers together.

Lastly, use African Violet to paint the final layer of the sky, again overlapping the pink layer to blend the two together.

Time to add the palm trees!

Ink the palm tree stamp with black then stamp it off onto a piece of scrap paper then ink the stamp with African Violet. Press the stamp on the painting in the center. Repeat the inking process and add as many trees as you’d like.

Once your trees are stamps, only add water to the leave section of each tree.

And that’s it! Once everything is dry, erase the circle line and sign and date it.

Perfect quick painting!

This week I am sharing how to create this Little Church Watercolor painting.

It is a small painting and doesn’t take a lot of time to create. Let’s get started!

We will be using five different Art Impressions Stamp sets for this painting with one stamp from each set. Each stamp that I use is circled.

I used these six markers for this painting but feel free to change things up to whatever you’d prefer.

• No 45 Sepia
• No 96 Jungle Green
• No 86 African Violet
• No 17 Steep Blue
• No 28 English Red
• No 15 Olive Green

Cut your watercolor paper into a 4×4 square.

Ink the church stamp with Sepia first, followed right on top with African Violet.

Press the stamp into the center of your square.

Next, drag the color out of the lines. Remember areas that would be darker for shadows and lighter for highlights.

Paint the windows in with African Violet. Paint the door with Sepia. Paint the roof with a mix of African Violet and Sepia to create a gray color. Then add more African Violet or the mix to the church body to add more depth.

Using a post-it note or post-it tape, mask off the church to protect it.

Ink the leaves with Olive green and stamp that above the church for a large tree behind the church. Repeat with the Jungle green.

Remove the mask from the roof and place a little tape on the side of the church.

Ink the vine stamp with Olive green and add some small bushes to the sides of the church.

Dip your brush in water, pinch it off, and dab the tree and bushes to soften the color. Then, use a little bit of sepia to create a walk way up to the church.

Ink the tiny dot flowers up the English Red and add those into the bushes for some color. Then soften the color with your brush.

Ink the small grass stamp with Olive green and add grass near the church, near the walkway, and also randomly in the lawn area.

Dip your brush in water and pinch it off then soften the grass by brushing up and out from the blades. Add a little more green here and there for added grass but don’t paint in the entire area.

Last thing will be to paint the sky in with the Steel Blue. Just like the grass, you don’t have to paint the entire sky in, I focused on the right side of the church but also didn’t paint the entire area then I just added a touch of blue on the left side of the tree and church.

And that’s it!!

Sign and date it, then pop it in a frame or turn it into a card. Perfect little mini painting of a perfect little church.
