Baby M 2.0 Update: Week 14

Hello Week 14 and HELLO second Trimester!

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 1.5 lbs
Maternity clothes? nope
Stretch marks? Not new ones... just the ones from Miss P. :P
Sleep: Sleeping great so far!

Best moment this week: Celebrating my first Mother's Day and watching Miss P trying to walk more and more.

Miss Anything? The feeling of NOT being nauseous!

Movement: Nope, not yet. But there have been a few times that I feel a sharp something or other depending on how my belly is positioned and think... baby?!
Food cravings: Not really craving anything yet. If I can eat any food, and a complete meal- that's a success!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I have been feeling sick after most of my dinners lately no matter what I eat. When I get congestion, I want to be sick. And still the occasional feeling of just my hair on my neck makes me feel sick.
Gender: Don't know yet.
Labor Signs: Hope not!
Belly Button (in or out): In

Wedding Rings (on or off): On
Symptoms: Morning sickness and Congestion! BLAH! And a day ago, my sciatic nerve bugged me for a little bit but luckily that went away.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pretty happy.
Looking forward to: I have a doctor's appt. on Friday so looking forward to hearing that little heartbeat again!

Baby M 2.0 Pregnancy Update: Beginning through Week 13

I am officially out of the first trimester, thank goodness!

I am truly hoping that the morning sickness will be on its way out REALLY soon too.

I have been slightly better the past 2 days, well until the evening hits, so maybe that is a good sign.

I thought I better start my pregnancy update posts now as well.

I took weekly pictures with Miss P and I've been doing it with this baby as well.

I'll do a little recap of the past weeks and then do a normal update post for this week tomorrow.

I feel like I started popping immediately with this baby. No surprise really since you do normally show faster with your second child and I figured it would be fast since I got pregnant so soon after Miss P.

10 Month Adventures of Miss P

We are starting to close in on Miss P's 1st birthday- how crazy is that?!

I so don't feel like my baby girl will be 1 in 18 or so days.

Since time is a ticking away, I figured I better get my butt in gear and actually post a recap of her 10 month of life.

Build Your Own Collage Frame- Super Easy!

I recently had the chance to play with some awesome products from Martha Stewart crafts.

Here is what I came up with and it is super easy to do!

It would make a great Mother's Day gift filled with some fun family pictures.

I received a box full of goodies with these items inside.

I looked around to see what items I had on hand to use and then figured out which products I wanted to use.

Here is how I created this collage frame.

Supplies:

-Paint- I used the Pearl paint and one Metallic

Things are Changing Around Here...

Ok, don't freak out!

Things aren't changing here on the blog, well at least that's the plan for now.

But things are definitely changing for our little family!

And before you ask- NO we are not moving, again! lol Not yet at least!

We are pretty excited for this change.

It was a bit of a surprise but we got used to the idea pretty fast.

Want to know what this change is?

Miss P will help me tell ya.

Yep! That's right!

I am definitely changing by growing another big ole belly with another Baby M in there!

Like I said, we were a little surprised seeing that it took us almost 3 yrs to get pregnant with Miss P but we are excited!

We bought Miss P this cute Big Sis shirt so she could wear it when we told our families.

I turned 8 wks right before Easter so on Easter Sunday we Skyped with our families and had P wearing the shirt to tell them.

Everyone was definitely very excited about our news.

We had our first ultrasound on the 11th and got to see a healthy baby growing right on track!

Due November 7th, Travis' birthday.

This first ultrasound is always good for peace of mind knowing that everything is good and something actually IS in there! lol

I decided to go ahead and share the news on FB to tell our family and friends after we had the ultrasound even though I am only 10 1/2 weeks.

I got this idea from Christina from Christina's Adventures and borrowed/copied it.

I put it up as my cover photo and didn't say anything else and just waited to see who would notice it.

Well, it didn't take long for people to notice it! lol

I will be 11 weeks on Thursday and I am definitely ready for this first trimester to come to an end.

I am having morning sickness and have been sick but NOTHING like I was with Miss P.

I couldn't function with P and lost a ton of weight and luckily that hasn't happened this time.

I have had some really bad days where I literally have to block P in the family room area with her play pen and lay on the couch all day watching her but those days are slowly going away.

My days are slowly getting better and my evenings are getting worse, much like what happened with P around this time.

So if you have been wondering why I have so sporadic posting on the blog the last few weeks, well, here's your answer! I've been not feeling well enough to craft, much less sit on the computer typing up posts.

So like I said, things aren't changing here on the blog.

That is the plan for now. But once the second baby arrives, I will definitely be taking some time off again and I can't make any promises for when I return just yet.

And until then, expect my weekly update posts like I did with Miss P!

I will share an update on the past weeks once I get back from SNAP. :)

Heading to a Blog Conference?

I am heading to SNAP this week, tomorrow actually, and I am SO NOT READY! lol

I have to get so many things ready but I do have one of the most important things ready to go- my Business Cards!

I went with plain, simple, and to the point with my cards.

I am super happy with how they came out, especially since I forgot to get new ones last year and was literally printing off cards at 11:30 the night before I left last year.

Business cards are HUGE for conferences!

They are seriously like baseball trading cards.

You meet someone new, or shoot, even just see an old friend again, and what do you do?

Exchange cards!

This is actually a picture of all the business cards I gathered at SNAP last year. And truth be told, this isn't all of them! I still randomly find cards that I just placed somewhere after I was handed it!

It is great to hand companies your business card that may be at the conferences in hopes that you will be able to work with them in the future.

Business cards are key to getting your name and blog out there to a large number of people in a short amount of time!

How to Recover a Lampshade

I've recently had the opportunity to review some fabric from the new HGTV Home line from JoAnn craft stores.

I received two coordinating fabrics, 1 yd each, and then some coordinating trim.

I decided to recover a lampshade that was in my guest room with one of the fabrics and the trim.

I was a little nervous to try it out but it was so easy!

Here's how I did it.

Supplies:

-Fabric

-Trim (optional)

-Hot Glue Gun or Fabric Glue

-Scissors

-Craft Paper

To start:

This was my old shade- gold and red paisley and TOTALLY didn't match the decor in my guest room.

I used to have it in our room at one point and eventually just ended up in the guest room because I needed a lamp.

First, trace your lampshade on craft paper.

Trace the top and bottom rim of the shade.

Once I traced the shade, I added a half inch to the top and bottom lines for seam allowance.

I also made new lines about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch above and below the original traced lines of the shade to allow for me to fold over the edge on the shade frame.

In this pic, you can see the lines where I actually traced the shade and then where I actually cut out.

Cut out your template.

Iron your fabric and then pin the template to your fabric.

Cut out your fabric and you are ready to begin tearing apart the old shade.

Once it is time to start working on the shade, first rip off the trim from the top and bottom of the lamp.

It was just glued on so it was super easy to pull off.

I then carefully sliced the outside fabric, (do not cut the liner!), and cut off the fabric along the top and bottom rims of the shade.

My entire shade was originally just glued together so I also just glued my new shade together.

Peel off the liner from the TOP of the metal frame only.

I just pushed it out of the way toward the center so it didn't get caught in the glue.

Pull out your HIGH temp glue gun and get to gluing the new fabric on.

High temp gun is key, otherwise your glue will dry as soon as it touches the metal if you use a low temp gun.

Place glue on the metal frame and then glue the fabric down. (Working on top rim of shade.)

Continuing gluing all the way around.

I cheated and just glued down my side seam but you can obviously sew it properly. ;)

Once the fabric is glued to the top rim, peel off the liner from the bottom rim.

I just let it fall in the center of the shade.

I then pulled the fabric over the bottom rim and used alligator clips to keep it in place.

I clipped it all the way around and made sure the fabric was tight.

Glue fabric over the rim pulling tight to ensure there are no creases in the fabric.

Here is the shade all covered in the new fabric.

I glued the seam down last after the fabric was glued around the rim on the top and bottom.

Time to replace the liner.

I trimmed off any of the old fabric still attached or showing on the liner.

I then glued the liner back onto the rim covering any raw edges of the fabric.

Again, start gluing the liner on the top rim and then glue it along the bottom rim.

I glued the coordinating trim along the line where the liner came over the edge of the rim on the top and bottom and I was done!

I am super happy with how it came out and was so much easier than I thought it would be!

The new shade definitely fits in with the guest room decor MUCH better!

Miss P's 9 Month Adventures

I have been wanting to get this post up forever now and it has taken me forever to get all the pics ready and then I was having trouble getting pics off my phone but it is finally up!

Miss P had a fun 9th month!

This actually was just before she turned 9 mths old and I forgot to include it in her 8 mth post.

We got A TON of snow and had a day out playing in it.

She was not really a fan of it as you can see by her last picture! lol

I think she just couldn't move in all her layers and she was not so sure about the cold, white stuff.

Our 9 mth photoshoot was interesting.

She was ALL over the place, joys of being very mobile now, so I had a hard time getting good pics!

Megaphone fun with daddy!

She enjoyed looking at the white stuff coming down from INSIDE the house. lol

She just keeps getting cuter!

She likes to turn her exersaucer in a fort to play under.

We are slowly learning how to be "nice" and "gentle" to the kitty.

Got all ready for her first trip to the park.

Fun on the swings and slide.

Fun time monkeying around with daddy!

It's fun watching her go to the corner where her toy bin is and watch her pull things out and play.

She is quite the little daredevil too!

She just HAD to have the toy at the bottom of the toy bin! LOL

Going, Going, Gone!

She is getting more used to her sippy cup too now that we switched to a new one.

And she is just like her daddy... loves water!

Month 10 has already been very fun so far!

Can't wait to see what the is in store for the rest of it.
