The aim of the consultation was to create a food security portal that would strengthen policy research, develop strong analysis capacity and increase active policy network with interactive policy dialogue. Giving an overview of the existing <a rel="nofollow"  href="http://www.foodsecurityportal.org/">Global Food Security Portal</a>,   <a rel="nofollow"  href="http://www.ifpri.org/staffprofile/maximo-torero">Maximo Torero, Division Director MTID</a> said, the India portal will articulate with global food security portal, which would combine both global and national initiatives to work towards food security.

<p>The Uganda Red Cross Society has said Kasese flood victims need up to 11 million litres of safe water if disease is to be avoided, amid fears of a cholera outbreak.</p>
<p>Heavy rains that resulted into floods at the beginning of this month destroyed all toilet facilities and this has since affected water sources.</p>

<p>GENEVA, 22 May (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) ‑ Children can and should play a crucial role in disaster risk reduction, a panel of children from disaster-prone regions told the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction this afternoon.</p>

<p>22nd May, 2013) &#8211; Authorities in Rubkona County of Unity State are raising concern about the existence of land mines in Kaljak Payam.</p>
<p>Speaking to Radio Miraya the payam administrator, Charles Mut Babur says mines exist mainly by the river side in Boitong area.</p>
<p>Mut said many of the mines were remnants from the Sudan civil war. (&#8230;)</p>

<p>May 21, 2013, SEATTLE - The Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation today announced more than US $8.1 million in new grants through its <a rel="nofollow"  href="http://www.grandchallenges.org/Explorations/Pages/Introduction.aspx">Grand Challenges Explorations</a> (GCE) initiative. GCE is a phased grant program that funds innovative ideas to tackle key global health and development problems, and provides additional resources for projects that demonstrate promise.</p>

<p>WASHINGTON, May 22 (Reuters) - The World Bank has proposed a $150 million loan for Jordan to help it with the cost of thousands of Syrian refugees fleeing the civil war in Syria, Jordanian and World Bank board sources said on Wednesday.</p>
