This aircraft was the last Boeing 727-100 manufactured, rolling off theproduction line in late 1971. The aircraft features the same wing, landinggear, fuel tanks and pressurization system as the 727-200, as well as theAutopak trip. It is the lowest timed 727-100 in the world today and has neverseen commercial operation. To meet Stage 3 and stage 4 noise and emissionrequirements, the number 1 and 3 engines have been replaced with JT8D-217engines, each providing 22,000 lb. thrust (the center -9A engine has 14,500 lb.thrust). Winglets and a flap droop system were added to give the aircraftsuperior cruise performance and substantially increased stability at highaltitudes.
