Airdrop's very own podcast series has returned in full power, starting with a new episode by one of the most talented artist out there. Andres Zacco is currently preparing his next and fourth European tour in June / July '13 - booking requests here.

The multi-faceted Argentine artist has prepared a very special hour mix, featuring very strong techno influences. The mix starts with the wonderful floating electronics that have become characteristic of Zacco's productions and mixes, before evolving into more solid grounds.

Also presented exclusively on this hour-long recording are two new records - the fourth edition of Andres Zacco's Greener label "Differential" by J.C. (releasing in April), as well as one of the titles Andres has prepared for his upcoming record on Airdrop (AD 024).

After releasing his first tracks and getting picked by Get Physical in 2005 to be an entire part of the family, Jona has since released some landmark EPs on Supplement Facts, Planet E and Resopal. More recently over the last year, he also joined the Airdrop and Mobilee families by releasing a splendid mini album on Airdrop and a floor-burning record on Mobilee's sublabel Leena.

Expert in the twists and turns of music theory and studio recording and always driven by his desire to explore new sound perspectives and ideas, Jona keeps reinventing his music around his perfect production techniques. Following Felix Dickinson's mix, here are 80 minutes displaying the genius of Jamie Read. This is the 2nd part of two AirPod episodes dedicated to UK's classic house duo LHAS Inc.

LHAS Inc. recently released their first remix ever produced for our 20th record release. Jamie Read is better known for a string of classic releases in the mid-'90s which he produced in answer to the Chicago sound of the time. At the time, Jamie Read's music was also object to an unfortunate offense.

Indeed in 1995, keen to have his music released on Cajmere's Relief label, Read handed a demo DAT tape to Joe Lewis for him to transmit it. Some time later some of these tracks appeared on Relief as a Joe Louis release entitled "Back To The Beginning", with no credit to the people who actually produced them. A while later, further material from this DAT was released under Louis/Lewis' name on this release and on "Netherlands EP" on Basement 282, again with no mention of the actual producers.

That famous DAT contained music made during a period when Read was recording at the studios of 10th Planet with legendary Lee Purkis, Chris Hartley and David Manuel (the 3 of whom ran 10th Planet and recorded as Insync vs. Mysteron).

Jamie Read also started LHAS - the Larry Heard Appreciation Society - around the same time. Later renamed LHAS Inc. as Felix Dickinson joined Read, the first two records which by Read alone, came out on a dedicated imprint, Push II Shove. These were followed by the first three records including Dickinson's participation in '03 and '04, on Wax (Doc Martin's label), Eskimo and Cynic.

In the last two years, LHAS Inc. presented two more records, "Learning To Live" on the fantastic Vibrations project (one of the best 12"s release in 2011 in our humble opinion) and another one on Cynic.

We are really proud to have included their first remix work ever on "Benzo - The Remixes", released on Airdrop, on Monday, March 12th through Syncrophone Distribution.

In the light of AD 020, our twentieth 12" outing, "Benzo - The Remixes", UK's classic-house duo LHAS Inc. prepared two unique mixes for AirPod.

AIRPOD 51 - Funkalicious James

Some of you have been lucky enough to attend one of Funkalicious James rare appearances behind the wheels of steel. The others had to wait until... today! Yes, the wait was long, but get ready for an hour of pure FUNKaliciousness in the classiest manner.

Last summer, Funkalicious James' edit of Janet Jackson - That's The Way got rinsed on the floors and beaches worldwide by anyone in the know from Soul Clap to Till Von Sein.

Funkalicious James is also one half of the Childhood '87 project with Le Loup - their edit of "Caught Up" on our 2nd Aux-Rec 12" outing made some serious commotion in 2010.

This year, he comes back with a full EP for Airdrop. Due out in the spring, it also includes stormer remixes by John Spring and Douze, who just dropped a really hot one on Le Loup & Seuil's Hold Youth. Funkalicious James will be playing this weekend on Saturday, February 11th, at Airdrop's winter shindig in Paris.

Today we’re celebrating the 50th episode of our beloved AirPod – but this month also marks our podcast’s 4th anniversary! That’s right, over the last four years – and since Paulo’s first episode in Dec. ‘07 – we sent out no less than fifty mixes from our roster’s precious talents.

Who better to celebrate such jubilee, than someone who keeps raising the level of wonderment record after record, mix after mix – Mr. Andres Zacco. Fresh off the release of his third 12″ on Airdrop Records, we are proud to announce Zacco’s participation in our next Aux-Rec project, the re-release and remixing of an original piece by Icelandic producer Exos.

The next twelve months are set to hold many more surprises for Andres Zacco. His label Greener Records will be presenting the 2nd volume of its ambient compilation series – Landscapes Of The Future, as well as 12″s by himself, Jacek Sienkiewicz and Dario Zenker. Also on his schedule is a European tour in May 2012, for which we are already booking.

All of this cumulates in the most hectic moment of the year, whereas we should really be enjoying our well deserved holidays!

So in the midst of the year end craze, take a tiny minute to load up Brandub's latest mix into your iPod. This hour of simple dubby euphoria will lift you many strata away from any superfluous concerns. Brandub created the mix in his home studio, in the city of Cordoba, Argentina.

We also take on this opportunity to announce that Brandub's next release on Airdrop is now mastered and ready. The 'Bank Side EP' features three originals and a Beat Pharmacy take realized by Mr. Brendon Moeller. AIRPOD 48 - Sr. Replicante

Jason Carich aka Sr.Replicante has been active in Buenos Aires for over 20 years now. In the early '90s, he was one of the core members of Urban Groove, the legendary DJ collective which shaped the future of the Argentine sound. Celebrating their 20 years of existence in 2011, Urban Groove will be appearing for a series of gigs in Argentina before the end of the year.

More recently, Sr.Replicante, also a professional architect, has been producing some of the most subdued and highly refined music in the country. We initially met Jason as he remixed our second digital release by Fase. We also had the chance to have him spin at one of our parties in 2008, on the historical Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires, where he played back to back with Nico Purman - a memorable night!

We are really glad to send out this recording today, featuring two hours of the finest dancefloor jack mixed with the subtle technique that characterizes all of his sets. Can't get enough of it? Sr.Replicante already announced a Pt.2 to this mix…

Ark : I agree! Japanese people share an amazing spirit and I showed off my best Karatekark skills. In exchange, they invited me for the country's best sashimi.

P : Your new album Arkpokalypse Now was released on Perlon this year. How did your production evolve since Caliente, released on the same label in 2005? On our end, we found the result more bluesy, maybe wiser. Would you be in phase of becoming a kind of House Buddhark?

A : Arkpokalypse Now is definitely quite calmer in its whole. But as my Gran'ma used to tell me... "be wary of sleeping waters" or rather "the calm before the storm"!

P : In true Shivark fashion, you placed your multiple hands in a variety of collaborations with Cabanne, Mr. Oizo, Pepe Bradock... the list is long, but you also produced remixes or were remixed by Salif Keita, Herbert, Akufen, Isolee, LoSoul or Robag Wruhme. Do you have any ongoing collaborations? Do you still hope to work with someone in particular?

A : I just released an EP on Thema, a super label from Brooklyn NY! And I am preparing another one for another Berlin based label. I will also prepare a new album for the end of 201, which will surely feature some special collaborations...

P : A little mouse told us about a documentary being produced about Jules CesArk. Could you tell us a little more?

John Spring is the intriguing alter ego of Johannes Mai. Born in Rostock, on the northern edges of Germany, John Spring is a sci-fi comic book character – a device-user, drummachine controller… like no other!

Mr. Spring is the man behind a string of records released over the last 8 years on the seminal German label Sub Static (directed by Falko Brocksieper and Cologne’s M.I.A). He develops a variety in sound ranging from the most intricate Techno, to forms of House that call on Mr. Jack in the most respectful manner.

Between then and now, John Spring presented many successful releases on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Resopal or Harthouse, licenced to the likes of Cocoon, DC10 and Four:Twenty. More recently, John Spring has been making a lot of waves as part of an anonym collective… that will stay that way, until further notice!

It is with immense honour that we not only send this new podcast episode to you, but that we also announce that John Spring took over Airdrop’s next record – AD018. It is set for release on the 18th of January 2011 and will laser-beam all your eardrums out.

Miguel has also been running his own blog and podcast series - Colectivo Futuro. On it, Miguel hosts his favourite DJ buddies' mixes (such as Le Loup or K.atou) but also posts engaging articles about music, design and current affairs.

Colectivo Futuro actually recently published a fantastic, beautifully pictured, architectural review of the constructions South Africa has been undergoing in order ro receive the World Cup.

Sir Martin Eyerer is already in the country and will make serious damage in the City of Angels tonight at King King. Tomorrow, he will be announcing his new record on Airdrop, In My House, along with fellow remixers Crazy Larry, Punisher and Pat Fontes...

Martin Eyerer has been a DJ for 20 years - and just as many years a producer, label owner, radio show producer. Throw in his two young children and it seems that the energy never leaves his side. Martin Eyerer is not a laptop artist, but a true musician. His high-end studio meets the highest requirements and has become an interdisciplinary interface for mastering.

As an important platform for his music Martin Eyerer has founded his own labels - Kling Klong and Session Deluxe. Due to the conscientious release policy Martin Eyerer was able to establish an independent sound between electro, minimal and tech-house on Kling Klong and more housy and underground on Session Deluxe.

Whether collaborations, solo works, remixes or compilations, all his works appear almost monthly on dance-floor dominating labels, like Kling Klong, Systematic, Audiomatique, Great Stuff, Kickboxer... The most unbelievable aspect of this is the variety of styles Martin Eyerer stands for. There is no segment from Deep House to Minimal Techno that the man is not in control of...

Knowing about the tidalwave that was coming up with our second Aux-Rec release, we prompted the boys behind the Childhood '87 project to create what is without a doubt the most exciting AirPod episode so far!

Le Loup & Funkalicious James are the two childhood buddies behind this podcast and the amazing Inner Life edit on AUX02's B-Side : Caught Up, has been lifting the spirits and elevating the floors over the last few months.

Being born the same year, growing up together and dancing break in their teens, the two rascals share similar ideas develloped here into one historically dense mix.

Raw old-school grooves, gritty house, disco and carefully selected songs à la Moodymann, make up for the perfect blend : calling sunshine into the cold weather, breaking the thick winter cloud layer... (Watch out for Funkalicious James' edit of Janet Jackson's "That's The Way Love Goes"...)

For those of you who dont know CRAZY LARRY yet, it's seriously about time you get acquaintened! CRAZY LARRY is one of the hottest deals between both shores: after fine-tuning his amazing live PA which includes all his vintage instruments, he teamed up with PIER BUCCI to form GLACIER, a freezy-frosty tech duo which pops up with releases on MATHEW JOHNSON's Wagon Repair label.

FASTER is 21 years old and Romania's fresh shooting star, playing all the summer festivals in Mamaia and with his buddies Livio & Roby, FASTER is also one of the residents of Bucharest's hottest spot, Studio Martin... We can remit our trust in his hands for convulsing nights of enraptured grooves and moves!

It takes a lot of digging before one can finally break through the thick crust of shoddy sounds, before reaching a quintessence of true quality. Ten years into the digital age, this is the case in underground electronic music maybe more than in any other kind of music.

I am sorry to let you know that following that scheme, logically, the best producers and DJs on this planet aren't the ones you think or know! However rejoice! Because evidently that's what keeps it exciting for everyone. It's a pleasure to introduce you today to one of Argentina's finest and best kept secret, one to put on top of your list: Lucas Mari!

The Rosario based artist is no newcomer. He became resident of 'El Sotano' - Argentina's best underground club - in 2002. Along with his friends and resident-mates, Jorge Savoretti, Nico Purman, and Franco Cinelli but also with his dear production partner, Andres Zacco, Lucas Mari has greatly contributed to the construction of a very singular sound, characteristic of Rosario.

We mentionned to Lucas the idea of doing his own AirPod episode. One morning a few weeks later, as we were getting ready to drive up to the mountains the man himself surprised us, sending over this subtle beauty of a mix.

Oscillating between the dub side of techno that is so dear to him, to more housy and classic forms of sound, Lucas gives us a compact preview of his delicate tastes in music. You will be able to enjoy some perfect picks and unheard production by the fantastic producer STL - aka Stephan Laubner, Argentina's special agent Lexdinamo, or Soulphiction's brilliant remix of Thomas Brinkmann's "Isch".

Be sure to pay a lot of attention to the ending of this mix. We have never heard such a stunning and peaceful finale... Lucas Mari plays with the elements... and our feelings.

AIRPOD 28 - Restone

It is finally there! Restart & Stone + Viesse's first appearance on AirPod! And not for any occasion. We are transmitting you today the recording of the Napolitan double duo's first live set together and in public. The hour long recording was captured during Restart & Stone's acclaimed appearance at the Comunicando festival in Italy.

Comunicando took place on the 21st and 23rd of July 2009 in Naples - see our post here. Restart & Stone fans gathered from the whole region and country to hear them out at the space dedicated to Airdrop Records within the festival - see the pictures here.

Preparing their third release on Airdrop, Restart & Stone + Viesse have previously showed their tectonically-shaking grooves with the A1 EP (which featured a remix by Mirco Violi) and more recently with the Madeja EP, completed with versions by Airdrop's own Soul Clap and Constar.

Listening to this set, one can easily tell the Restart & Stone and Viesse boys are hard at work, making sure the southern part of the Italian boot properly kicks its heels on the dancefloor!

AIRPOD 27 - Dirty Room

This live set was recorded on the occasion of Dirty Room's appearance at the Airdrop party in Berlin at Bar 25, on June 12th. Organised for the arrival of the Fase boys in Berlin, by their two friends and transplated Argentine clowns, Sirs Dirty Room and Santos Resiak.

You probably remember Mr. Dirty from his release on Airdrop (ADDIG008), the Itches EP, on which appeared two of his original bombs as well as remixes by the same crew of accolytes Fase Miusic Sender and Santos "Chuchugas" Resiak as well as a special appearance by Mr. Guti!

The energy is high on this set of Dirty's, one can feel the shaking vibrations inside the famous Berlino spot, and the man is at the controls of this funky, groovy hour and half (edited to podcast length) recording. Watch out for more Dirty-ness coming up soon on Airdrop! But, not before you go clean your room you little rascal! NOW!

AIRPOD 26 - Elon

After a rocking appearance at DEMF for the Clink party and of course during NYC's unparalleled reSolute parties, at which he resides with Connie, Elon recently travelled aaall the way to Australia to play. We are lucky enough to hold a precious recording of his set on the 5th continent. One could easily empathize with Elon as to how much he was missing his kangaroo friends and family (see picture above...)

It did not take Elon a long time to go from being a DJ to one of the most sought after emerging producers of the US scene. From an instrumental background playing the guitar and bass, supplemented with sound engineering experience, Elon created an unmistakable sound with his signature splattered reverb and juicy metallic swing, that he calls “post minimal”. His productions have been released on major labels such as Clink, Dumb Unit or Made to Play.

Can you believe that our last Soul Clap AirPod Episode dates back from a year ago! June 10th 2008! It was the recording of the release party for AD 002 - die Ente where the entire Boston family played, Soul Clap, Tanner Ross, Pat Fontes and Sergio! Eli had minus two tattoos on his body, Charlie looked like tweety, Tanner was already bald and Sergio, well a little less than now!

This time around it's at home Boston base that the recording was made. That's right, Wednesday night at the Phoenix! A special night for Airdrop's Paulo since the roles were inverted, Soul Clap were opening for him instead of the usual other way around! This was also to everyone else's blessing since we can now enjoy the deepest, slower and grooviest aspect of Soul Clap's sets. Some of you also had the chance to hear out other of their sets opening for Steve Bug at the HejDrop party in Detroit, or at 10AM at Wolf+Lamb's legendary Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn, closing for Damian Lazarus and Jamie Jones. What has always been Soul Clap's essence has been blooming now more than ever. The result: a specially cared and refined sound, which you can now appreciate in this beautiful mix and superior selection presented to you today, on AirPod's silver tray.

Pat Fontes' last Airpod was 10 episodes ago... what happened in between? So much! Three weeks back, Pat went to NYC to open for the Tora Tora Tora showcase at Bar 13. Dietrich Schoenemann, Miro Pajic and Pat dropped some serious Techno music that frightened more than one! Back in Boston and in between opening for Dario Zenker and making music in the secret and record-coated Patcave, the Superman still finds time to take it easy. As Pat himself defines it: "long walks on the beach with some serious dank and the occasional rub and tug after eating steak". A dream life you would say, but do remember that Pat is the hardest working of all. So that occasional rub always comes as the most deserved.

Rub with the lady or Tug with the records, it’s all the same for Pat Fontes - LOVE. On this mix one can definitely feel the summer warmth enveloping the mood. With tracks by the Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Larsson, Christian Burkhardt and Minilogue, Pat sets the tone here for his brilliant summer, and I am weighing my words. Yes, Pat Fontes' upcoming release - High Hopes - will be on Don't Sleep Worldwide, and will feature remixes by Dave DK and Dave Mothersole. That's without mentioning Pat's oh-so-long-awaited release on Airdrop! Vatos locos forever homes!

Let's start it like that: Samybo is French. Just like us! Needless to say, the taste is there! The mix we are sending out today was recorded on the 10th of April 2009, at Pink Flower in Toulouse, where Samybo opened for Mathias Tanzmann. Good times! In 2008, Samybo released a record on Spanish label Room 613 with an elegant Lemos remix. The same Lemos which will be playing at Samybo's party this week end in Berlin along Audio Werner. The bash is called "Climb the Fence" and announces itself to be a great success! Coming up for Samybo is a great release on AIRDROP, due for the summer. For AIRPOD 22 (and the wonderful beginning of Spring in the northern hemisphere) what’s best than the fresh midtempo mix of a 22 years old kid. This mix blends a good amount of current and smooth 2009 tunes (that somehow feel like they have been around for a while) with a few tad older ones like Boeing’s Endless from the 2000 released Beta album we love so much. We haven't posted an episode for a minute and in order to be forgiven we are super excited to send you today a little treasure of a mix from a pearl of an artist: Tanner Ross' Live and Uncut @ 71 Aldie. But first let us remind you of all the different sounds of the man who has more facets than a disco ball! Indeed, Tanner Ross has different aliases depending on his musical mood: while on the one hand his Marcel Wave moniker is characteristic of a sunny and somewhat deep atmosphere - you can find his latest Marcel Wave-signed production as the opening track for our last EXTRACTION US compilation - on the other hand his Voodeux alter ego - with partner James Watt - translates into a spookey-yet-groovey stripped down techno sound.

You probably have heard and seen some of the huge cloud of buzz growling around their most recent release - the Bones EP on Mothership. Bones has been receiving the praises of the likes of MANDY, Kiki or Nic Fanciulli. The EP includes two perfectly engineered blood-thirsty monsters that are destroying the longest and widest dancefloor this planet has to offer. AIRPOD 20 - Mikael Stavöstrand

For AIRPOD's 20th episode, we are honoured to welcome the live recording of an artist we hold dear in our hearts: Mikael Stavöstrand. This was recorded in San Francisco in December 2008 at the occasion of the second installment of Auralism Records' brand new monthly - Aural Therapy - happening every 3rd Friday at the newly refurbished Paradise Lounge.

For those of you who weren't at our party at The Bunker on the 12th of December, with the performances of Soul Clap and Mikael himself - we are also very excited to announce the coming of Soul Clap's new record "Puppy Crack". The record features an incredible remix by Mikael Stavöstrand that you can preview right here - close to the beginning of this podcast episode.

More details about the record coming soon but we can already tell you that “Puppy Crack” is a potent dance drug and should immediately be banned to avoid further brain damage. Dripping into your drainage like some highly potent acid, the original version of the track breaks down into the wonkiest mayhem that clubbers’ ears have heard in a long time!

You will have to call in the ambulance and hope the doctor saving you when you overdose is Mikael Stavöstrand: he is just such a fine balancer and knows how to dose right: “Puppy Crack” becomes a deep entrancing affair with squelching noises and hypnotic synths that underline squeaking and clicking effects. Slowly the whole affair culminates in an evil addiction you did not even notice you developed!

AIRPOD 19 - Nicolas Jaar

Nicolas Jaar - 18 years old - was born in New York. Soon after his birth, he moved to Santiago de Chile, where he bathed in Latin influences and indigeneous musical traditions that hold a determinant place in his productions. Nicolas will eventually come back to his birthplace as a teenager. Haunted by Mulatu Astatke, Erik Satie, Ezekiel Honig and Villalobos' "Thé au Harem d'Archimède"; Nicolas started to make organic electronic music in 2004 at the young age of 14. Last year he debuted with "The Student EP" on Wolf and Lamb Music with remixes by Seth Troxler and Kasper.

He is now studying music cognition and philosophy at Brown University in Rhode Island. Nicolas has a few releases coming up, including some remixes by Ryan Crosson and a very special track that closes AIRDROP's new volume of the Extraction compilation series - releasing February '09. Needless to say, you will be sure to have many more opportunities to appreciate his creative genius. But as of now, Nicolas urges you to listen to his music instead of reading these mere words. It is with extreme pleasure that we are posting this incredible live set that Nicolas Jaar has been crafting with the most careful attention and subtle taste.

AIRPOD 18 - Cape

Fernando Cappelletti aka Cape - pronounce [cà-pé] - is originary of Rosario, the beautiful capital of the province of Santa Fe, which stands right on the banks of the Rio de la Plata, north of Buenos Aires. Born in 1985, Cape discovered house music when he was 11, with tunes like Van Helden's Funk Phenomena or Inner City's hits, he immediately identified with the genre while feeling his feet moving and twisting and the groove slowly entering his core.

In his formative years, he also develloped a strong appreciation of rock while learning to play the guitar and listening to Depeche Mode, Sonic Youth, Pink Floyd and the Sex Pistols, offering him a great knowledge of contemporary music. It wasn't until the year 2000 that Cape discovered Ricardo Villalobos' creations and a whole new dimension of electronic music, which left him speechless. He then started following Franco Cinelli in clubs like El Faro or El Sotano, legendary clubs of their home town. Some experiences which left a permanent mark on him.

Cape naturally started producing and received the great help of his city neighbours and friends Nico Purman, Franco Cinelli, Lucas Mari, Jorge Savoretti and Andres Zacco, letting this clear Rosario sound to impregnate his productions. Also following the influences of Laurent Garnier, Robert Hood, Basic Channel, Speedy J or Terrence FM on one side and Cabanne, Luciano, Perlon, Mathew Jonson or Baby Ford on the other, Cape creates an interesting and rich blend of techno and house with dub patterns and Detroit sonorities.

It is a real honour for us to announce today the release of the first productions of who has become one of our favourite emerging artists. Our sixth digital release - AD DIG006 - Le Post EP will come out this Friday 9th of January, 2009 on Beatport and JunoDownload. A three tracker, crafted with pure mastery. As a little preview, for AIRPOD 18 - a number that means a lot to us - we are including a bomb podcast from Cape himself so you can immediately get a better idea of who he is, and discover his world in a comprehensive manner!

The year is over! And what a year this one has been... a happy, eventful and gratifying year for us and our faithful AIRDROPPERS. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case in the rest of the world. With so many social ordeals and structural fallacies, those who have always suffered keep on suffering. But let's not let go of our great hopes for change. 2009 will be thought-provoking, to say the least, and the world needs that stimulation - upside down... inside out!

AIRPOD 16 - Punisher @ DEMF '08

Exactly a month ago, we had the chance to receive Punisher and Sassmouth at Midweek Techno in Boston... and yes we were all immediately hypnotized. The duo embodies a great blend, each of the girls bringing their yin and yang. Both shared some music and my favourite piece remained Sassmouth's "No Sleep 'til Kuujjauq" on Hej Records, Punisher's imprint. Sass moved from Chicago to London earlier in the year. And around that time we also had the chance to assist Punisher's pounding set on the Real Detroit Stage @ Detroit Electronic Music Festival in May 2008. It's the recording of this set we are honored to send you today! Punisher's Super High-Octane Beats will not give you a millisecond to even think about resting!! "Hailing from Detroit, Michelle Herrmann better know as just Punisher, is a petite techno veteran that packs a powerful punch. An observer and artist by nature, Michelle was drawn to music and the creative side of life since the beginning. She was fortunate to find her way into the Detroit techno scene in the early 90’s when the energy was awe inspiring, and from that moment Punisher emerged. From her career's onset in 1993 at only 15 years old, Michelle has set a precedent of raising the bar high for all things Punisher through flawless productions and dance floor igniting DJ and live PA sets.

Very early on Michelle realized that being a DJ alone would not be enough to contain her artistic creativity and prowess. Trying to get closer to the music and release the sounds within, Michelle purchased some drum machines and was on her way to the next level. In 1996 and 1997, within a few years of learning the science of the synths, Punisher put out her first two twelve inch EPs on Sean Deason’s Detroit based label Matrix Records. Seeking to push forth the concepts of sound and motion, in 1998 she launched the seminal Detroit label, Seismic Records in addition to her collaboration with legendary producer Mark Gage of Vapourspace. This set was recorded at the announcement party for the EXTRACTION US compilation at Bar 13 in September. Larry plays a great set in between a succession of Soul Clap and Tanner Ross tags. We are getting closer to Extraction's release with gigs all over the Northern American continent. The 28th of November 2008 Elon, Tanner Ross and Soul Clap will be taking over Miami - December 5th Soul Clap will be paying a visit to Crazy Larry in Denver and a week after in San Francisco with Alland Byallo and J.Phlip at the End Up's Phonic night.

"With no rave scene and virtually no radio support in most American markets, kids like Crazy Larry were forced to discover the wonders of dance music on their own accord. Pat Fontes’ knowledge of electronic music has made him into what many have stated as a ‘connoisseur of sorts’. Pat’s style of DJing and production is an utterly unique and healthy mixture of house and techno genres, sometimes going beyond into a more experimental approach. Pat was brought up in a Boston suburb by his Portuguese mother. With now over a decade of DJing experience he was also the former owner and manager, of now legendary Satellite Records Boston. Being quoted by his peers as "Mr. Techno", Pat is a walking encyclopedia of electronic music. In addition to his newfound AIRDROP familia, Pat has released on such labels as Thoughtless Music or Monism.

One of Argentina's most exceptional producers offers us a rich blend of classic sounds and deep grooves on AirPod's 13th Episode!

Andres Zacco was born in Pergamino, Argentina. After spending a few years in Buenos Aires, it was in Rosario that he decided to make his home. Since then, Andres has been preparing numerous superior releases that will see the light soon. Also extremely active on the local Argentine scene, Andres plays in the most interesting events and live jam sessions along the likes of Leonel Castillo, Jonas Kopp or Jorge Savoretti.

His productions carry a strong heritage in underground dance music, Andres Zacco also follows the footsteps of his mentor and great friend Franco Cinelli. Combining subtle kinds of Techno sounds with classic patterns in House music, Andres creates a very natural mix that comes as pleasantly surprising in a country sometimes often dominated by over-the-top minimalistic approaches.

Andres also recently founded Greener Records. With a fantastic first release, receiving the collaboration of Lineas de Nazca and Kai-Maan and the remixing wonders of Franco Cinelli, Greener announces itself as extremely promising. Be on the lookout for the next release that features original productions by Lucas Mari. You must remember the latter from his joint EP with Andres on Stock5, the Carbonela EP, which also features a remix by Seph, selected by Ellen Allien to appear on her Boogy Bytes mixed compilation.

Also on the timetable is Andres' highly expected record on AIRDROP, coming in the early days of 2009... a singularly happy new year already announces itself!

Since Connie's last episode on AirDrop's Podcast last March (AirPod Nº5 Connie - Matte on the Beach), the girl has been rocking many dancefloors worldwide. Well, first she came to get it down in Buenos Aires, where in the space of three days she played in three major spots "de la escena porteña", with Fase Miusic Sender, Sr. Replicante and Nico Purman!

After Argentina, its in Canada that Connie went to lay down some beats in June on the occasion of the fabulous Piknic Electronik. Each year the Picnik, invites an amazing line up of artists to play on the week ends and in the warm summer open air. This year already featured appearances by Zip, Guillaume Coutu Dumont, Sety, Mathias Kaden, Thomas Melchior, Josh Wink, Loco Dice, Mathew Jonson and of course Connie!

First of all, we would like to thank everyone who made the AirDrop die Ente release party possible, the friends who did show up, the friends who didn’t but tried their hardest, the artists for making the music and coming down to play it, obscenenyc and brooklynvegan for putting out the word and of course Memo from Bar 13 for doing things right.

The night was great despite having most of NYC’s electronic music lovers still under the Detroit spell, most were able to come party for a few hours. The night started off with legendary Pat Fontes who played beautifully and got the dancers warmed up for Sergio Santos who also played great ending his set with Tanner Ross’ die Ente remix, which people definitely started to go crazy to. (A dark video to go with the dark track will be here shortly)

At this point Bar 13 has grown a moving and grooving dancefloor eager to absorb all the music possible. Tanner Ross now steps behind the decks and attacks as directly as possible with his Dirtybird roots and gets people jumping with Justin Martin’s Cicada remix (such a dope track). Then a bit later, he moves on to Mothership, Dirtybird’s other sick label to which Tanner also belongs to, and gets Bar 13 all hyped up with Italoboyz Bahia (aka the John Coltrane shizzie). After Tanner Ross gets everybody even more pumped up, it is time for Soulclap to jump behind the decks.

Soulclap played phucking amazing too! They even played one of my favorite tracks of the moment that I first saw Heidi destroy back at Studio B and then Sammy D at Old Miami in Detroit, Phreaky MF by Mike Dunn. You can listen to it here, but support the artists and get it on beatport (note the spelling). I was also very pleased by the crowd’s reaction to die Ente original which got them all quacking like they should (check it out under releases- hit us up to buy the vinyl in advance).

Behind Fase are: Gustavo Gagliardo, Leandro Waisbord, Pedro Perelman and Martin Tibabuzo. Fase is a collective founded in the year 2000, that is active in Buenos Aires and works on both end of the audio-visual spectrum. From musical production to visual animation and street-art to VJing, Fase finalizes all-inclusive projects and shows, which create a truly complete realm, allowing it to fully expressing their vision. On the musical side, even if experimentation surrounds a Techno essence, some sounds have been surviving since the very foundation of Fase: Aquatic sounds, clicks and glitches, video-gaming bleeps. Fase keeps the groove as main purpose, using kicks and basses to create melodies coming right from the under layers of the earth, factory sounds and darkness. Detroit Underground and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work can stand as referents to the universe they perpetually share. Fase Miusic Sender plans its live sets to build climates and organically evolving structures. The video sequencing that comes to complete Fase’s world, is solely dependent of, and exclusively adapting to the evolution of the music. AirPod N°6 - Pat Fontes - Dripples

Thelegendary ex-raver, DJ, producer, Midweek Techno host, NuNo Recordings founder, reconverted raver, Pat Fontes has graced us with his latest mix for our new AirPod episode. When Pat gave me the only copy burnt of this mix, he quickly jotted down "Dripples #1" on the CD, and the name could not be more appropriate. As usual Pat knows techno, you know, the dark addicting melodies type techno, but hey, don't take my word, listen for yourselves.

The mix features a few of AirDrop's tracks, some which you already heard, like Franco Cinelli's banging version of Soulclap's The Giraffe, and others that you never have... yet! For example, there is Tanner Ross' remix of die Ente (another Soulclap original production, coming out this month on 12"), there is also Night Patrol a raw Techno groove produced by 19 years old Frenchman Louis Encontre.

Like the true Techno Mixmaster that he is, Pat blends them with some of the most powerful and trapping tracks of the moment. Opening his mix up with an unreleased track by Japanese producer Den, remixed by Sarah Goldfarb on Mark Henning's label, Clever Music. The tune is so dirty and bluesy at the same time, it comes right out of the catacombs and I would easily imagine Damian Lazarus going crazy with it. Pat also includes Smash TV-member Holger Zilske's amazing tune The Birds, which appears on Playhouse's second to last release.

WARNING Some disruptions in your daily routine might occur when listening to the closing of Mr. Techno's mix... Enjoy your new break!

Thank you Pat for all the good beats and energy you deliver. Techno Activism still exists and Mr. Techno was, is and will always be part of it.

DJ Connie is just one of those DJs you should know, follow and respect, just like we do. From being one of the first DJs at minimoo to a residency with the ReSolute parties, she spins around the world and with top names like Guy Gerber, Trentmöller or even at the Sunday School of Degenerates during WMC!

Connie is now based in NYC and has spun at every notable electronic music event and venue. We love her rolling minimal-tech-house-party music and have booked her at the Bâton parties in December and January at the Galapagos Art Space. She will be at the WMC spinning at PS14 on the 27th and Blue on the 28th so definitely check her out.

Our praises don't come without a little music ;)

AirPod N°4 - Paulo Reachi - Performancia

Last Thursday I was asked to play at an Artists' Performance. Basically this means that they needed me to bring a musical vibe into their visual and ethereal world; music and art: the most essential and natural enhancement. Nowadays a party can't be imagined to be organised without a VJ of some sorts. But playing especially for artists is quite a different feel. Just like a VJ has to adapt his visuals to the DJ's music, there I had to adapt my music to the vibe of the artists, painting and creating, who in turn were themselves receiving the different sonic waves I was sending them for 6 hours in a row. One of the performing artists even dropped his own recorded sounds of doors creaking, trains passing by, and kids singing on the streets of Buenos Aires over the music. Remember that it's summer here in Argentina, and the feel is more than tropical (although it has been raining for a week now!) and mixing Microhouse with African Percussions, Peruvian Flutes and Bolivian instruments seemed the most instinctive to do.

The man in charge is Lindsay Welsh, who with all his talent and Ableton homework, builds crazy levels of energy where he plays. Lindsay was born and lives in Buenos Aires and only appears on certain rare occasions. Lindsay plays all kinds of styles, but one thing is for sure: the man makes one with his machine! Ira Oksman's first DJ gig was in the age of 15 performing a drum'n'bass dj-set to a small crowd in the place called "Territory" (Moscow). She had then continued playing in various Moscow clubs on a weekly basis mainly spinning jungle/drum'n'bass/liquid funk.

A year later she joins a leading promoting crew called "Storm Crew" alongside with the widely known Russian DJ's: Groove and Dan. Following by few gigs she then gets a resident spot with their drum'n'bass monthly event. She had opened a variety of sets for a luminary names of jungle/drum'n'bass music such as John B, Brian G, Loxy, Nicky Blackmarket, Ray Keith, etc

A couple of years down she becomes a regular resident in one of the oldest clubs in Moscow "Garage" and performs there on weekly basis. At that point she also starts moving towards a straight 4x4 beats with increased interest to a house music. As her knowledge of house music evolves, she starts moving towards more artist-like minimalist sounding going through the stages of disco soulful house -> deep house -> tribal -> progressive house -> tech house electro -> minimal techno/micro house.

Ever since moving to Toronto, Canada, Ira have had various of gigs around the city in spots like Insomnia, Labyrinth lounge, Chinadoll, Chelsea lounge, etc etc etc

At this point, however, her prime consideration is falling towards the music production/development. As Ira note, her prime goal at this point would be a development of a new concept in electronic music (particularly in minimal techno) which would hopefully make a difference in todays electronic music scene.
