Travelers to Denver Airport have multiple on-site parking and
ground transportation options from which to choose. The Denver Airport
website includes updated status information for each of the parking
lots, displays a map of the doors and walkways to access parking and
ground transportation, and provides a listing of ground transportation
options by city.

Jeppesen East and West

Denver International Airport is divided into Jeppesen Terminal East
(Blue) and West (Red) sides. The East side services primarily
Southwest, JetBlue, Delta/Northwest, US Airways, Continental, Frontier
and Midwest. The West side services primarily United, American and the
airport's international carriers. Parking and ground transportation are
accessed from the East and West sides of the terminals.

Airport Long-Term Parking

The airport provides several long-term parking options for a variety of budgets. All prices were effective July 1, 2009.

The most economical options are two shuttle parking lots which cost
$6.00 per 24 hours or $1.00 per hour. Pikes Peak is the closer lot from
75th Avenue. Slightly farther southeast is the Mt. Elbert lot which
handles any overflow. Adding 30 minutes to your travel time when
parking in the Pikes Peak or Mt. Elbert lots is recommended.

The two economy lots (West and East) cost $10.00 for every 24 hours
or $1.00 per hour. These lots also require taking a shuttle, but it's
the first stop from the airport terminal.

Garage East and Garage West can be reached by foot from the terminal, and cost $18.00 for 24 hours or $2.00 per hour.

Two valet lots (again, West and East) cost $27.00 per 24 hours, or
$11.00 for the first hour and $2.00 for each additional hour. Car
services, such as car detailing and oil changes, are available for
additional cost.

Airport Short-Term Parking

In addition to the hourly parking available in the long-term lots,
Denver Airport also has dedicated short-term parking options. There are
two short-term parking lots (West and East) at a cost of $3.00 per
hour, and there is a waiting lot (often referred to as a cell phone
lot) for up to 45-minute waits. Overnight parking is not available in
the short-term lots.

Ground Transportation

Denver Airport is accessible using a variety of ground
transportation options, including public and charter bus, limousine,
commuter van, taxi, shuttle and rental car. Travelers headed to
downtown Denver may wish to use SkyRide, a low-cost public service
available from many downtown locations.

To make sure you get to the right place, there is a Ground
Transportation Information Counter on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal.
The Counter is available from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and can also be
reached by phone at (303) 342-4059.

Know Your Island

Ground transportation at Denver Airport is organized by "island" on the East and West sides of the terminal:

Taxis and limousines are located on Island 1.

Mountain carriers are on Island 2.

Hotel shuttles, off-airport parking shuttles, and commuter vans are located on Island 3.

Rental cars are on island 4.

All buses (public, charter and scheduled) and parking lot shuttles are on Island 5.

Madrid Barajas Airport has parking and ground transportation options that travelers would do well to understand before embarking on a trip.

Parking

Parking is fairly straight forward at the Madrid Airport, which has
two major parking facilities close to the terminals. Both have long and
short term parking. In addition, the airport has one other long term
car parking facility.

Both P1 and P2 accommodate long and short term parking. P1 is an
open-air parking facility that is opposite Terminal 1. It's quite
large, accommodating some 2,300 cars. P2, which is opposite Terminal 2,
has a six-floor parking garage and serves all three of the airport's
terminals. All except the top floor is covered, and there are elevators
in the garage.

The charges for short term parking in P1 and P2 are:

First 30 minutes - Free

EUR1.35 per hour

EUR11.60 per day

The charges for long term parking in P1 and P2 are:

EUR8.50 per day, for the first two days

EUR7.50 per day, for days 3 through 5

EUR3.50 per day, from day 6 on

The other long term car facility is further away from the terminals,
and has transportation to and from the airport by a free shuttle.

For very short parking stays, there is a parking "express" in
Terminal 2 at the ground level. It would be less expensive to use P1 or
P2 if staying longer than 30 minutes, since the charge per hour is
EUR3.00 and there is no 30 minute free stay.

Travelers can pay for parking at pay machines in the parking areas
that accept Euros and most major credit cards. In addition, there are
stations which are staffed where the fee can be paid.

Ground Transportation

There are a variety of ways to get to Madrid. But if a taxi is the
choice, passengers should be careful to take a cab from the official
stand and not from cabbies inside the terminal. Otherwise, the fares
are not guaranteed. A taxi into central Madrid will run about EUR15 to
EUR20, including airport supplements.

Another less expensive way to reach Madrid is by the Madrid Metro
subway system, which links the airport with the city. Since the subway
does not run directly from the airport to the Spanish rail network,
it's necessary to change trains in order to take a train going outside
Madrid.

Passengers can find the airport Metro station in Terminal 2,
adjacent to Parking Area P2. Unlike cabs, the metro only runs from 6 am
to 2 pm, and the fare is EUR1.10.

There's a bus that runs from the airport to Plaza de Colon, which
leaves from the Arrivals level of each terminal. It runs from 4:45 am
until 2:00 am, and operates every 10 or 15 minutes, depending on the
time of day. Fare for the bus is EUR2.40.

Major car rental companies are located in the lower ground floor near Arrivals.

Heathrow Airport is London's largest airport and one of the
world's major hubs for international travel. As a result, Heathrow
Airport parking and ground transportation options are extensive.

Transportation

Heathrow Airport offers you everything from taxis to train services.
The Heathrow Express runs between Heathrow Airport and Central London.
Although the Heathrow Express is more expensive than taking "the Tube,"
it will get you into downtown London approximately 40 minutes quicker.
This is because the Heathrow Express offers fewer stops between the
airport and downtown London. The Heathrow Express is available at
15-minute intervals every day of the year.

RailAir

RailAir buses operate out of Heathrow Airport and offer
transportation to downtown London as well as many other major UK cities
and towns. The RailAir is a cheaper option than the Heathrow Express,
but travels at a much slower pace. A variety of RailAir stops are
located throughout the Heathrow Airport, making it easy and convenient
for you to purchase a ticket. You can purchase your RailAir ticket in
advance, either online or via phone.

Heathrow Connect

Heathrow Connect is an express train that runs directly from
Heathrow Airport to the Paddington train station in downtown London.
The Heathrow Connect is available every half hour, every day of the
year.

The Underground

The Underground is London's most frequently used type of travel, and
is offered to and from Heathrow Airport. Although the London
Underground is a cheaper option than most other ground transportation,
it will take you a long time to get into the city. If you're traveling
with many bags, it will be difficult to carry them into and out of the
London Underground.

Heathrow Airport Parking Options

Heathrow Airport has a variety of parking options, which include:

Long stay parking

Short stay parking

Valet parking

Long Stay Parking

There are three unique long stay parking lots within Heathrow
Airport. These three long stay parking lots serve terminals 1 through
5. If you decide to park in one of the long stay parking lots, you will
be offered a complimentary coach service which runs between all of the
terminals. Heathrow Airport's long stay parking lots are approximately
a 3 to 10 minute coach ride from the airport.

Heathrow Short Stay Parking

Heathrow short stay parking is available at both hourly and daily
rates. To park for 30 minutes in a Heathrow short stay lot will cost
you approximately 2 pounds, 40 pence. This price increases in 30 minute
increments and maxes out 45 pounds a day (for multiple days in the
lot). If you are looking to park in the short stay lot for more than a
few hours, it is much more cost effective to park in the long stay
parking lots.

Heathrow Valet Parking

Valet parking at Heathrow Airport is available in all of the
terminals. If you decide to valet park your car, you will be greeted by
Heathrow staff members who will pick up your car at a specified valet
drop point. From here your car will be stored in a secured garage that
is monitored all day, until you return from your trip.

Chicago International Airport parking is located in all three
terminals, as well as in the international terminal. Each lot offers
different options from hourly to daily rates.

Hourly Parking

Hourly Parking is available at the Chicago International Airport on
level one of the main parking garage. Hourly parking is often closer to
the terminals than long term parking, and is more expensive. If you're
parking in lots A, B or C, the hourly rate for a spot is $2 an hour. If
you end up leaving your car in an hourly parking space for a full day,
it will cost you $30. Parking rates are always changing, so it's
important to go to Chicago International Airport's official website
before planning your trip.

Long Term Parking

Long Term Parking is available for you in lots E and F. Because lots
E and F are further from the major terminals at the Chicago
International Airport, the Airport Transit system is offered to you
free of charge. If you are interested in current space availability, it
is possible to tune into 1630 AM to find out how many spots are
available in each of the parking lots.

International Parking

International parking is located right next to the International
terminal and is a convenient lot for picking up or dropping off people
at the international terminal. If you happen to be traveling
internationally for an extended period of time, long term parking is a
cheaper option than the international parking lot. The International
parking lot was designed specifically for pick ups and drop offs at the
international terminal.

Valet Parking

Valet Parking is the most expensive parking option at the Chicago
International Airport. It's filled with perks and luxuries that are not
offered to you in regular parking lots. The Valet Parking service
offers two unique drop off locations, both found on level one. These
locations offer you access to terminals 1, 2 and 3. If you decide to
park your car with a valet, the car will be parked in a covered lot
until you return from your trip. In addition, the car will be monitored
24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Disabled Parking Options

If you are a disabled traveler, lots A, B, C, D and E each have
spots that are clearly marked for handicapped travelers. Each one of
the parking spaces is located next to an elevator or a shuttle drop off
point. Shuttles also offer travelers with wheelchairs an elevator
option, which makes it convenient and easy to board the shuttle and
tram.

Vehicles Parked More than 30 Days

If you are planning on traveling for more than a month, it's
mandatory that you contact the airport to make specific arrangements
for your car. If you fail to make arrangements with the airport, your
car will be considered abandoned and towed from the lot. To avoid this,
call the Chicago International Airport line at (773) 686-7530. In
addition to being towed, it's possible that your car can get booted in
one of the Chicago International Airport parking lots.

When heading to Haneda Airport, the primary domestic flight
hub in Tokyo, knowing how to save time can mean less hassle. Learn how
to save time and lessen stress at Haneda.

1. Know the Trains

While renting a car or taking a taxi is
always an option, the smart way to save both time and money is to take
the train. The JR Yamanote Line runs through Tokyo Station, a major
train transfer hub, to Hatsumatsucho Station. At Hatsumatsucho,
travelers can take an express Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport. This
trip takes around 16 minutes and costs only 470 yen ($5.20) one-way;
taking a taxi the same distance will take about 30 minutes and cost
much more.

Travelers headed to or from the Tokyo Bay
area can take the Keihin-Tohaku Line to Shinagawa Station and transfer
to the Keikyu Airport Line, to head straight to Haneda. This trip takes
around 19 minutes and costs 400 yen ($4.50) one-way.

2. Baggage Delivery

The drawback of taking the trains in Tokyo is that they are often
overcrowded, leaving travelers with little room to store more than one
carryon bag. Travelers with extra luggage should use a baggage delivery
service. If taking off from Haneda Airport, have your baggage picked up
the night before from the hotel or take it to a drop-off location
(usually at a neighborhood convenience store). If arriving at Haneda,
look for the delivery service counter and have the bags delivered
directly to the destination hotel or residence within one day. The cost
of this service is generally around 1900 to 2500 yen (about $21 to $27)
each way.

3. Use Electronic Tickets

Getting through Haneda Airport goes a lot
quicker when travelers use electronic tickets and check themselves in,
rather than waiting in long lines at the check-in counter. Travelers
who make reservations online can print out a confirmation code and use
the code to check in at a computer kiosk at the airport.

4. Study the Terminals

While a free shuttle service can take
travelers from one terminal to the next, wise travelers will study the
layout of the airport ahead of time and head straight to their
destinations. Travelers who are driving their own cars can park in one
of five parking lots, two of which are located near Terminal 1, two of
which are located near Terminal 2 and one of which is located near the
International Terminal (with flights primarily to China and Korea).

Travelers who are meeting friends, family or
business associates at Haneda Airport should designate a specific
meeting place before landing. Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have four
large clock towers with different large black numbers (1 through 8) on
them to make meeting up much easier.

Familiarize yourself with the layout and services of Haneda Airport
and the city's public transportation system beforehand. A little extra
time spent in preparation can lead to a lot of extra time before or
after the flight.

The Dallas Airport offers a variety of parking and ground
transportation options for you and the guests you're traveling with.
The Dallas Airport parking sections are broken up into 4 categories:
DFW Airport Valet, Terminal Parking, Express Parking and Remote
Parking. Each one of these offers options that vary in price and
convenience.

DFW Airport Valet

The DFW Airport Valet service does not require you to make a
reservation in advance. All you need to do is drop off your car at any
one of the Valet Parking Stands that are located in the airport.
Terminals A, B, C and E each have valet services, as well as the
curbside of Terminal D. If you decide to use the DFW Airport Valet
service, your car will be parked in a covered lot for the duration of
your trip. The cars are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The
cars never leave the airport parking facilities and will be available
in the one hour terminal parking area when you return from your trip.
This service costs $21 a day.

Terminal Parking

Terminal parking in the Dallas Airport is located next to all 5 of
the airport terminals. As a result, you do not need to take a shuttle
to get to the terminal where your flight either arrives or departs.
With more than 28,000 total spaces, it's usually quite easy to find a
parking spot in one of the five major terminal parking locations. If
you are unable to locate a parking space in a lot that is close to your
terminal, the Dallas Airport will provide you with complimentary
shuttle transportation to your desired terminal. Terminal parking costs
$17 a day and is also offered hourly.

Express Parking

Express parking at the Dallas Airport was developed with business
travelers in mind. With new and improved Tolltag technology, it's
possible to enter and exit the express parking lot with automated
entry. Complimentary items include water and a daily paper. Shuttle
service is provided for you to get to the terminal of your choice. The
express parking lot also has unique flight information, so you can find
out if your flight is on time or delayed. Express parking is located on
both the north and south ends of the airport. Express parking is
offered at an hourly rate as well as a $12 daily rate.

Remote Parking

Remote Parking is a cheaper option than both express and terminal
parking. The remote parking lots are located to the north and south of
the airport and require a shuttle to get you to the terminals. Although
it takes longer to get to the terminals, it only costs $8 a day to park
there, and it's designed for long term fliers. Remote parking offers
4,800 spaces which makes it easy to find parking spots. There are also
remote drop offs located at each terminal, which makes it easy for you
when you're in a rush.

Parking and ground transportation offer many different options at the Frankfurt Hahn Airport. It is best to become familiar with the many possibilities before you travel there.

Parking

There are three parking garages for short term parking, all close to
the terminals. They are P0, P1 and P5. The charge for these are EUR
2.50 an hour for all three, and separate one-day fees:

P0 costs EUR 18.00 per day

P1 costs EUR 30.00 per day

P5 costs EUR 25.00 per day

Long term parking is found in other garages farther from the airport
and is served by a free shuttle that runs back and forth to the
airport. These are P2, P4, P7 and P8. The charges for lots P2 and P4
are:

EUR 2.00 for the first hour

EUR 7.00 for the day

EUR 40.00 for the week

The second week drops at these lots to EUR25.00

For P7 and P8 the charges are:

EUR2.50 by the hour

EUR7.00 for the day

EUR17.50 for a week, with no discount for a second week

Unlike most airports, parking can be reserved and paid for online
prior to a trip. Otherwise, automatic pay machines are found at all of
the pedestrian entrances to parking garages. Travelers can also use
their credit cards when they enter the parking areas, and the card will
be automatically charged when the vehicle leaves the garage.

Another popular option is the Park, Stay and Go Hotels. For a
package price that is often less than the cost of parking at the
airport, certain hotels close to the Frankfurt Airport will allow
customers to park for up to two weeks after a night's stay, with a
complimentary shuttle that takes the traveler to and from the hotel.

Ground Transportation

Train and bus service to Frankfurt is convenient and
budget-friendly. The airport has two rail stations and one bus
terminal, which are located adjacent to Terminal 1. There is a regional
rail as well as one for destinations further away. For the RMV
transport it is necessary to purchase tickets from their ticket
machines, or from the RMV Mobility Center. The rail stations have
direct services to Frankfurt and run every 15 minutes. It takes 11
minutes to arrive at the Frankfurt Central Station and about 15 minutes
to arrive in downtown Frankfurt.

Buses are found outside all of the terminals. They leave every 20 minutes and take about 20 minutes to arrive in the city.

Another option for getting to Frankfurt is by taxi, which costs
about EUR 20.00. It takes about 20 minutes and is available 24-hours a
day.

Since the airport is so close to the Autobahn, car travel is
convenient and a rental car may be a good option for more than one
traveler. Car rental companies are right in the airport itself, for
added convenience. Reservations can be made online.

Travelers heading to Haneda Airport should familiarize
themselves with parking and transportation to and from the busiest
airport in Japan. Travelers who know how to navigate the airport will
be able to get to their next destination as quickly and efficiently as
possible.

Parking at the Airport

Tokyo is home to one of the most efficient
and pervasive public transportation systems in the world, so renting a
car there is not always the most efficient idea for navigating around
the city. Nevertheless, travelers interested in driving themselves to
and from Haneda Airport will find four principal parking areas, two
near Terminal 1 and two near Terminal 2. There is also a smaller
parking area near the International Terminal, with flights principally
to Korea and China. However, most likely even the foreign traveler
using Haneda is booking a domestic flight, as Narita Airport handles
the bulk of international travel.

Costs for parking start at 4550 yen (about
$50 US) for the first 24 hours and an additional 80 yen (90 cents) per
hour thereafter. One-day parking coupons are also available in books of
10 for 2000 ($23) yen each.

Car Parks

There are also parking services near the airport that provide
shuttle buses to and from the airport, free of charge. These car parks
charge less for parking than Haneda itself, particularly for
multiple-day parking. Be sure to ask if the parks are friendly to
foreign travelers, as not all car parks will accept cars from travelers
who don't speak Japanese fluently, for legal purposes.

Monorail and Trains

Easily the most effective way to get around
Tokyo, the city's widespread train system includes a connection
straight to Haneda Airport. The JR Yamanote Line connects Tokyo Station
to Hamamatsucho Station, from which travelers can transfer to the Tokyo
Monorail and head straight to Haneda. There is also a transfer path
between the Keihin-Tohoku Line stop at Shinagawa Station and the Keikyu
Airport Line to Haneda.

The JR Yamanote Line path to Hamamatsucho
takes about 16 minutes and costs 470 yen ($5.20) and the Keihin-Tohaku
Line to Shinagawa takes around 19 minutes and costs 400 yen ($4.50)

Limousine Bus

Travelers who are leery of attempting the
fast-paced train system can opt for limousine bus service from Haneda
Airport, which includes a stop at Tokyo Station (a primary train
transfer hub) and about three dozen other major locations in the city
throughout the day. The limousine bus allows travelers to take luggage
on at no additional charge. Fares fluctuate depending on destination.
The trip to Tokyo Station takes about 40 minutes, and costs 900 yen
($10).

Taxis

Taxis are available at all times from Haneda. Although pricier than the
limousine bus or monorail, the cabs can take travelers directly to
their destinations with minimum fuss. Drivers at airports can usually
speak enough English to communicate with foreign travelers.

Parking at and transportation from Haneda Airport offers travelers
multiple options, from the least expensive to the most convenient.
However, Japanese public transportation is known for its punctuality,
and even the least expensive of options is still an incredibly
convenient method to get around the city.

There are a myriad of ways to come and go from JFK Airport.
They can be somewhat confusing unless you're in the know about each
option. To help you understand which ground transportation might be the
best, the airport has a Ground Transportation Desk, adjacent to the
baggage collection in all terminals. This desk has information about
ground travel along with pertinent phone numbers, information on how
and where to take cabs, rent cars, take buses, trains and subways to
all parts of New York City. Rather than wait until you're at JFK, it
might be wise to review the options ahead of a trip there.

AirTrain JFK

A new method of travel to and from the city is to take AirTrain, a
very affordable, but somewhat arduous, mode of travel. On the positive
side, the cost is only $7 per person and it takes less than an hour to
get to downtown Manhattan. On the negative side is the fact that
travelers must carry their own luggage, and getting into the city
requires a ride on a subway or the Long Island Railroad, since the
train doesn't go the entire way. This is ideal for the budget traveler
who doesn't mind changing from the train to another mode of transport.

Other Options

Taxis into Manhattan run from $40 to $50 and more during rush hours.
For a bit more money, visitors can hire a town car or limo either
online before the trip or at the airport itself. Rental cars are
available, but travelers need to take a shuttle bus to the various
rental agencies, and rentals are not inexpensive. It's preferable to
make a reservation for a car rental prior to arriving at JFK.

There are some companies that offer shuttles into the city. No
reservation is needed when traveling from JFK, but reservations are
needed when going to the airport. Rates are per person and run from $13
to $19, but there is a savings if a round-trip ticket is purchased.
Most shuttles make stops at many New York hotels. Unlike taxis and
limos, these are not available 24 hours a day.

Parking

There are a number of possibilities for parking at JFK, but none of
them is particularly budget friendly. The least expensive at the
airport itself is the long-term parking, which costs $18 for up to 24
hours and $6 for each additional 8-hour period after that. There are
several daily parking lots that are more expensive. The parking areas
are broken down into colors for easier recognition, and charge $3 for
the first half hour, $6 for up to 1 hour and $3 for each additional
half hour, up to a $33 maximum for each 24 hour period.

There are other parking options, but much further away and you need
to take a shuttle to and from them. They range between $15 to $20 a
day, which is quite a savings for a bit of inconvenience.

There are many options at the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris for both parking and ground transportation, and it's a good idea to become familiar with them before traveling begins.

Parking

At the Charles de Gaulle Airport, each of the terminals has its own
car park. Parking at the terminals is fairly expensive, so other
options that are not as close to the terminals may be better for the
budget-minded traveler. The charge for Terminal parking is all the same:

EUR 2.40 for the first hour

EUR 4.80 for two hours

EUR 7.00 for three hours

EUR 8.80 for four hours

EUR 14.80 for eight hours

EUR 20.00 for a day.

A multi-level garage is located right at Terminal 1.

A cheaper option for that Terminal, actually almost half the cost at
EUR 10.70 a day, is along the approach to Terminal 1, near the Hotel
Sofitel.

Terminal 2 has three car parks: one for Terminal 2A and 2B, another
for Terminal 2C and 2D, and a third for Terminal 2F. There is covered
parking at these lots. Terminal 3 has a car park that is not covered,
and which is divided into two areas: Sud (South) and Est (East).
Another inexpensive car park is located along the approach to Terminal
3. It has the same lower rates that the cheaper option for Terminal 1
has.

Ground Transportation

There are many ways to reach Paris from Charles de Gaulle Airport.
One of the cheapest is to take the RER train, which makes several stops
in central Paris and connects with the Métro. Travelers on the RER
train have to carry their own luggage, which may be a drawback. The
fare to Paris is EUR 8.20.

A second option is a bus. Buses of Les Cars Air France bring
travelers from Terminals 1 and 2 to both the Right and Left Bank. Line
2 goes to Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is
located, and to Porte Maillot near the La Defense skyscraper area. The
buses only run from 5:45 a.m. to 11 p.m. at night. The fare is higher
than the train, with one-way at €15, and €24 for a round trip. Line 4
runs to the Gare de Lyon and the Gare Montparnasse, and the fare is EUR
16 for a one-way or EUR 27 for a round-trip ticket.

The RATP, the Paris regional transport authority, runs the
RoissyBus, which brings travelers from all three terminals to the rue
Scribe near the American Express building and the Opéra district. The
one-way fare is EUR 8.60, and it takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an
hour and a half during rush hour.

There is also the taxi option, but there is always a long line
waiting for one. The fare can run anywhere from EUR40 to EUR50 or more
during rush hour. In addition to the fare, there is an additional
charge for each piece of luggage.

There are many parking options at the Atlanta International Airport
(ATL). Each one has its good and not-so-good points. The general rule
is that the closer the parking spot is to the airport, the more
expensive it is. Ground transportation also offers several ways to get
into Atlanta, and they are all fairly reasonable.

Parking

Hourly parking, which is intended for those people picking up or
dropping off someone, is the closest to the terminals. In fact, it's
directly in front of each terminal. It costs $1 for the first and
second hour, $2 for the next 4 hours and after six hours the fee is $28
a day.

Directly across from each terminal are the Daily Parking lots that
have covered parking on all but the top (fourth) level. The rate for
this option is $2 per hour and $14 per day. Less expensive are the
economy lots which are located next to the parking decks. These are the
most economical, with a rate of $2 an hour or $10 per day. These lots
are serviced by shuttles from the lots to the terminals from 7 a.m. to
midnight, seven days a week.

Slightly less expensive than the economy lots, but further away is
the Airport Park-Ride Shuttle operation. With 50 vans, there is usually
little wait for the shuttles, which take travelers to the terminals and
then return them to their cars at journey's end. This option is $9 a
day.

Another fairly costly choice is the Gold Reserve Lot. It provides
hassle-free parking. Located just steps from the terminal and on ground
level, this covered lot makes it very convenient to park and enter the
terminals through a private entrance from the lot. For this privilege,
the traveler pays $3 the first hour and $1 per additional hour, up to
$24 for the day.

Ground Transportation

Travelers to and from Atlanta International Airport have a wide
choice of what kind of ground transportation they can use, including
shuttle bus, train, rental car, limo or taxi cab.

In addition, many hotels offer free transportation to their
customers. To find the hotel shuttle service, travelers need to go to
the Blue Isle outside in the Ground Transportation Center, which is
located in the western part of the airport, between the North and South
Terminals.

Another option is to take the Metropolitan Transit Authority
(MARTA). It's an inexpensive way to get into Atlanta, but you have to
carry your luggage.

If renting a car is preferred, most rental car companies are
conveniently located in the airport Atrium. It is necessary to take a
shuttle to the car pickup area.

Taxi fares are set according to which part of the city a person is
traveling to. For example, if a person is going to downtown, the fare
is $ 30. Midtown is $32, and both charge an additional $2 for other
passengers. While limo service isn't so much more, especially if the
party is large, reservations must be made in advance for this service.

Duty free stores are often located in international airports,
and on the borders of many countries. If you are travelling
internationally, you will benefit from the tax free items you can
purchase at Duty Free Stores.

Maximizing Cost

If you intend to find the best "percentage off retail" price for an
item at a duty free store, you should purchase products that offer a
very high duty rate, like liquor and cigarettes. Many duty free stores
will offer these items in bulk, maximizing cost and allowing you to
benefit from the lack of tax on them. Many stores offer high end
designer brands at discounted prices. If you are focused on overall
dollar savings, these high end items are where you're going to find the
biggest discounts.

Convenience

Comparing duty free shops located in cities to duty free stores
located in airports, the biggest difference is the overall convenience
of the airport shops. While many shops offer high priced items, the
benefit to buying them in the airport is that you may use currency that
will decrease in value when you leave the country you're currently in.
Even if the currency does not depreciate, the conversion rate you will
be charged will definitely make it worth it to purchase the item in the
airport instead of in a store.

Requirements for Duty Free Shoppers

As a rule, to take advantage of duty free shopping, you must leave
the country within 48 hours of your purchase. This is why most duty
free stores are located in international airports and shops. You must
take the items you have purchased with you to your next destination.
You're not allowed to re-enter the country with the items you have
previously purchased there.

Duty Free International

Many European countries offer fewer duty free benefits than other
countries, because of the European Economic Union, which handles cross
border taxation. Some countries that are ideal for duty free shopping
include Australia, Mexico and Argentina.

Duty Free Limits

Each country imposes its own individual limits on how many duty free
items can be purchased at one time. When re-entering the US, a limit of
$800 worth of duty free items can be brought into the country. Certain
ounce limits with respect to alcohol and cigarettes are often enforced
on travelers. If you go over the allotted limit, you must announce it
when going through customs, and you may be charged additional fees. The
way to avoid these additional fees is to make sure that you're aware of
the legal duty free amounts that you can bring into your native country.

Additional Benefits

Additional benefits to shopping duty free include access to high end
sunglasses, sports wear, toys, books and perfumery. All of these items
will be tax free and discounted, because you will be leaving the
country within 48 hours of your purchase.

Tokyo International Airport (HND) is also known as Haneda
Airport, and is one of two airports servicing the Tokyo region. In its
prime, Haneda was the main international entry into Japan, until the
1960's when Haneda became too small to handle the increased high volume
of passenger traffic. Due to its location on Tokyo Bay, and lack of
room for expansion, Narita became the primary International Airport.
Now Narita services most international airline traffic, while Haneda
services most of Japan's domestic airline traffic. Haneda is currently
trying to regain some of its international service by offering
international flight service to Seoul, Korea, Shanghai, China, and Hong
Kong. Haneda airport hopes that more international service will be
become more prevelant in the future. It is estimated that Haneda saw
more than 60 million passengers pass through its halls in 2008 alone.
With the 2008 statistic, Haneda is now recognized as the busiest
airport in Asia, and 4th busiest airport in the world.

Haneda Service Facilities are wide ranging in this bustling
airport. Haneda offers banks, a post office, currency exchange, ATMs,
baggage storage, delivery service, car rental agencies, medical and
dental clinics, barber, spa treatments, banquet hall, hotel, duty free
shopping, and many airport lounges.

There are currently 6 airport lounges within the Haneda
International Airport, 4 are designated for departing passengers, 2 are
designated for both arriving and departing passengers, 1 is a
designated cafe and smoking lounge, and all are open from 6am to 10pm.

The Cafe & Smoking Lounge

This lounge is located at the end of Terminal 2 3F, and is
the only airport lounge where a fee is not required. Being the only
smoking lounge in the airport, it can get quite busy! If you're a
smoker, you'll want to scout this lounge out. On the other hand, if
you're non-smoker you will probably want to stay near the other end of
the terminal. The Cafe and Smoking Lounge stays open a little later
(10:30 p.m.) than some of the other lounges, and also serves breakfast,
lunch and light snacks, along with beer, wine and spirits. If you are
looking for a quick bite, alcoholic drink and a smoke, this is the only
place in the Haneda Airport where all three are available.

ANA Lounge (All Nippon Airways)

This is a small, but cozy little lounge. It's open the public for a
fee of 1000 yen, and offers its guests free WiFi, complimentary draft
beer and working space. There are power outlets to recharge your
electronics, and reclining chairs to kick back and rest while you wait
for your departure. Diner's Club, Gold Card ViSA and Gold Card
Mastercard card members can enjoy the ANA Lounge free of charge, as
well as First and Business Class travelers, but you need your ANA, ANK
or AirDo boarding pass to gain entry.

Unlike most other ANA lounges throughout Asia, showers are not
available at Haneda Airport. However, the location of the lounge offers
an excellent view of the runway, and some decent photo opportunities.
The ANA lounge is a great spot to get away from the noise and chaos of
this extremely busy international airport.
