The pictures illustrate special events, meetings and the emotional state of its subjects. Each photo has a date as title, which refers to an actual fact represented: The Austronaut’s Wife, The Teacher or Freddy Mercury.

Anke Linz (1965) and Andreas Oettinger (1963) have worked closely together from the first encounter. Through a special technique, their photographs have a scenic effect. The usage of color and composition in their works are of unprecedented beauty and have a historical note to it – 15th Century Dutch and Italian portret art are notably a form of inspiration to them. However, due to the ‘sharp edge’ they add to their photographs, their works definitely  belong in the world of contemporary art. The combination of nostalgia with the unexpected makes Billy Und Hels’ work successful worldwide and every time surprising.

The exhibition will run until May 31, 2012 at Morrison Gallery, Prinsengracht 572, Amsterdam.

Continuing in this theme, New Zealand based photographic Retoucher James Reid takes these 1980′s heros and pixelate them. Another great set of illustrations made with the simplest of forms. Yesterday Leica presented their new limited edition sets created in collaboration with Hermès. The exclusive M9-P “Edition Hermès” and the M9-P “Edition Hermès – Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas incorporate “Veau Swift” calfskin leather in “ocre,” supplied by Hermès for the leathering of the silver-chromed version of the Leica M9-P camera as well as the shoulder strap included in the set. A beautiful collaboration in a celebration of the friendship and collaboration between Jean-Louis Dumas, the former president of Hermès, who died in May 2010, and Leica Camera AG. The set comes with three lenses, an exclusive hand-finished Hermès camera bag, the first Leica camera bag ever to have been created by Hermès, as well as a portfolio of 200 black-and-white images all captured by Jean-Louis Dumas with his Leica M camera. Watch the making of the camera, the packaging and the bag below.
