Well friends, it’s that time of the year again when I move away from San Francisco. Although this time it feels a bit more sensible than moving to Vietnam.

My latest adventure finds me moving to Boston, Texas. Or Austin, Massachusetts? Whatever. The one on the east coast.

A bunch of great firms have been reaching out to me in the midst of building my startup, and I decided to sell out. I had a difficult decision to make between incredible companies and hot start-ups, but at the end of the day I chose a role with the organization I respect above all others.

If you know me well, you’ll already know what it is. You’ll also know if you’re not blind or mentally disabled since there’s a giant logo in this post, and since most of my blind and mentally disabled friends are homeless people in the Tenderloin I doubt they’re online and I’ll be telling them personally.

So I’m setting my startup work aside, and taking a job managing new digital products at NPR. My team (and boss) are incredible. Our talents are perfectly complimentary – and together, we’ll be at the forefront of defining the future of news and radio. Which is pretty fuckin’ awesome. Oh and they’re super lean. Did you know NPR only has around ~700 employees? Including reporters in like, Africa (but obviously not including our great member stations). Compare that to the ~14,600 at the Peoples Republic of Yahoo! and I think I’ll finally be able to push shit to production.

But then there’s the subject of Boston. There are lots of cons (like hypothermia of the ballsack), but lots of pros too (like proximity to my sister, one of my best friends, and NewYorkCity[biiitch]). And I’ll still be in SF a lot, so keep in touch and gimme a reason to fly out.

*Btw, you may see me a bit less politically active online and unable to join certain groups and events now, as I’ll be subject to NPR’s exemplary ethics policy while working on their news products. But don’t worry baby-girl, you can still expect me to hate on the BoSox and Patriots harder than any man alive. #Yankees4ever #colts4life
