J&K Bank customers unable to access Mpay

Officials say technical glitch is with two telecom service operators

Srinagar, 12 Dec (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Bank customers are facing problems in accessing Mpay.

Customers informed that they are not able to access the app and is giving them tough time in logging into their accounts.

" When I tried to access the application for transaction. I was directed to update the App and then choose the number registered with J&K Bank. However it didn't open despite many attempts," a customer said.
However J&K Bank on its official social media pages and accounts clarified that the technical glitch with mPay is with only two telecom service providers. “It is for the information of our esteemed customers that more than 2 lakh users have successfully used mobile banking app, mPay, successfully. However, some of our users are facing inconvenience due to technical glitch with two telecom service providers. The bank is vigorously following up the issue with the telecom service providers for speedy resolution of the same. Inconvenience is regretted,” the picture post read.

The customers have urged the bank to resolve the issue immediately.

Unlock 5: MHA extends guidelines till November 30; states to decide on schools

NEW DELHI: The Union Ministry

of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday issued an order extending the guidelines for 're-opening' the country, issued last month, till November 30.

The MHA extended the earlier guidelines keeping in mind the ongoing

coronavirus

phase.

"There shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/approval/e-permit will be required for such movements," the guidelines read.

However, lockdown shall continue to be implemented strictly in the containment zones till November 30, 2020.

Further, the states and union territory governments cannot impose any local lockdown outside the containment zones without consulting the Centre.

As per the guidelines, National Directives for

Covid-19 management

shall continue to be followed throughout the country, so as to enforce Covid-19 appropriate behavior.

Furthermore, states and UTs have been allowed to take the call on reopening of metro rails, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and hospitality services, religious places, yoga and training institutes, gymnasiums, cinemas, and entertainment park, etc.

As of Tuesday, with 36,469 new Covid-19 cases, India's total cases surged to 79,46,429, as per

the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare

(MoHFW).

With 488 new deaths, the toll mounted to 1,19,502, as per the Ministry.

The total active coronavirus cases are at 6,25,857 after a decrease of 27,860 in the last 24 hours. The total cured cases are 72,01,070 with 63,842 new discharges in the last 24 hours.

Now anyone can buy land in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh

In September 2020, the Jammu and Kashmir administration amended the Grant of Domicile Certificate (Procedure) Rules, 2020.

Srinagar: In a significant move, a gazette notification has been issued, paving the way for any citizen of India to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The notification will be called the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Adaptation of Central Laws) Third Order, 2020.

The notification comes into force with immediate effect. The General Clauses Act, 1897 applies for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of laws in force in the territory of India, the order stated.

Reacting to the government's order, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah expressed unhappiness over the amendments. In a sarcastic comment, Abdullah claimed that "J&K is now up for sale".

"Unacceptable amendments to the land ownership laws of J&K. Even the tokenism of domicile has been done away with when purchasing non-agricultural land & transfer of agricultural land has been made easier. J&K is now up for sale & the poorer small landholding owners will suffer," Abdullah tweeted.

With the abrogation of Article 370, the act re-constituted the former state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories, 'Jammu and Kashmir' and 'Ladakh'.

Barring Two Districts, 4G Internet Ban Extended In J&K Till November 12

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Wednesday extended the 4G mobile internet ban till November 12 in all districts, except in Ganderbal and Udhampur.

Internet services were cut off in Jammu and Kashmir last year on August 5, hours before the Centre revoked Article 370 of the Constitution and split the state into two Union Territories. The low-speed or 2G internet service on mobile phones was restored on January 25, although outages continue to be imposed intermittently amid a complete ban on 4G network. On August 16, the government restarted high-speed mobile data service in Ganderbal and Udhampur districts on a “trial basis”, as part of “calibrated easing of restrictions”.

According to Government Order No: Home-114(TSTS) of 2020, whereas, the Special Committee constituted by the Supreme Court held its meeting to consider the continuation or otherwise of the directions regarding regulation of the Internet Services in the context of the views expressed by security agencies and administration of UT of J&K, especially related to the security aspects, the border security and the concerns on account of public order.

The order reads that the Committee noted that the internet speed related restrictions are not posing hindrance to COVID Control measures, access to educational programmes and carrying out of business activities.

“Whereas, the matter has been further considered in the meetings of the State Level Committee, in light of the observations of the Special Committee and assessment about the impact of the trial of opening up of high speed internet connectivity,” it reads.

“Whereas, various measures taken by the Government, especially during the recent past, to empower people have not gone down well with the separatist and militant organizations. There have been multiple instances of attacks on the security forces, political workers, etc. to subvert these initiatives and the political process which has been set in motion. There are apprehensions regarding misuse of the data services by the anti national elements, among other acts, for carrying out various activities inimical to the public order apart from misleading the youth to join militant ranks, which necessitates taking of pre-emptive measures, including imposition of restrictions on availability of internet commensurate to the gravity of the situation,” it added.

The order reads, “now, therefore, considering the necessity of speed related restrictions on mobile data services as brought out in the reports of the law enforcement agencies, I, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, being satisfied that, it is absolutely necessary so to do in the interest of the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security of the State and for maintaining public order, in the exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 and sub-rule (1) of rule 2 of the Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public .Safety) Rules, 2017, hereby direct that the high-speed mobile data services in the districts of Ganderbal and Udhampur shall continue to be made available, while in rest of the districts, the internet speed be restricted to 2G only.”

“While the post paid sim card holders shall continue to be provided access to the internet, these services shall not be made available on pre-paid cards unless verified as per the norms applicable for post-paid connections,” reads the order.

“Fixed line internet connectivity, without any speed related restrictions, shall continue to be made available with Mac-binding,” it reads.

“The aforesaid directions shall be effective from today, the 21st October 2020 and remain in force till 12th November 2020, unless modified earlier. The IsGP, Kashmir/Jammu shall ensure communication of these directions to the service providers forthwith and their implementation in letter and spirit,” reads the order issued by Principal Secretary Home Shaleen Kabra.

NEET Result 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET 2020 result. Candidates will be able to download NEET result 2020 from NTA's official website, ntaneet.nic.in. Here's the direct link. To download NEET scorecard, candidates will be required to use their roll number and date of birth. Before announcing result, NTA will release the final NEET answer key. The main NEET 2020 exam was held last month. A last-minute policy change barred COVID-positive candidates and those from quarantine zones to write the exam. To give them a chance, on October 12, the NTA told Supreme Court that NEET Phase 2 exam will be conducted for these students on October 14 and the combined result of NEET 2020 will be released on October 16. . NEET Result 2020: Attention candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the NEET Result 2020 on October 16, 2020, on the official website of NEET. Candidates who appeared for the NEET 2020 exam are requested to visit ntaneet.nic.in for the process of checking and downloading their respective NEET Result 2020, once released.

The Supreme Court directed the NTA to conduct a special exam of NEET on October 14, for candidates who could not appear for in the NEET Exam conducted on September 13 due to Covid-19 infection or because of residing in containment zones.

This year, the NEET and other competitive exam results have been delayed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The NEET 2020 was conducted on September 13 at various test centres across the nation following the social distancing norms.

SSC JE recruitment 2020| The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has invited applications for the post of junior engineer(JE) in civil, mechanical, electrical and quantity surveying and contract streams. The application has already started and will go on till 30 October. Candidates can apply at the official website ssc.nic.in. Online payments can be made till 1 November, while offline challan can be sent till 3 November.

The computer-based paper 1 exam will be conducted between 23 - 25 March, 2021, according to Hindustan Times. The date for Paper II will be notified at a later date. The number of vacancies to be filled in the recruitment process will be determined in due course.

Applicants must submit their applications in online mode only at the official website of the commission at ssc.nic.in.

To be eligible for the jobs, candidates will have to pass a computer-based test. Those who clear the CBT will be called for the second paper. Selected candidates will get a salary between the range of Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400, according to The Indian Express.

Applicants must be of Indian nationality and have a degree in a relevant stream of engineering. Candidates with three-year diploma with two years of work experience can also apply.

The upper age limit is 30 years for most jobs except for the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and Central Water Commission, for which the upper age limit is 32 years.

Paper I will be of 200 marks and have a duration of two hours. The paper will have 50 questions on general intelligence and reasoning as well as general awareness. The third part on the engineering-specific field will have 100 questions. Those who clear this will be called for a descriptive type paper of 300 marks. The first paper is MCQ and will be set in English and Hindi. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in paper-I.

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Junior Engineer exam every year for the recruitment of candidates for various Central Government posts. As per the SSC Junior Engineer notification 2020, the selection process will have three stages -- Paper 1, Paper 2 and document verification.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme aims to provide income support to all landholder farmer families across the country with cultivable land, subject to certain exclusions.

However, if the farmers don’t have their respective Aadhaar cards linked with ther bank accounts where the benefits will be transfered, they will no longer get the benefits of PM-KISAN Scheme.

The Union Cabinet had in April this year relaxed the mandatory requirement of Aadhaar seeding of data beneficiaries of the States of Assam and Meghalaya and UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for release of benefits to them under PM-Kisan Scheme upto March 31, 2021. However, for other states, December 2019 was the deadline for seeding of Aadhar in the data base.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced a “comprehensive” employment plan to fill up 25,000 vacant posts in the union territory.

A total of 10,000 posts have already advertised, he added.

The UT administration is working on fulfilling the assurance of 50,000 jobs for the youth announced by the prime minister, Sinha said.

“Central Armed Police Force, paramilitary forces and JKP recruitment rallies shall also be conducted across the UT,” he added.

Sinha was speaking after visiting the Peeri area of Budhal block in Rajouri district during a ‘back to village phase-3’ programme.

Republic TV TRP fraud busted, Mumbai Police set to quiz Arnab Goswami

In a press conference held on Thursday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh said the city police is probing an alleged TRP scam where certain news channels manipulated BARC data to boost their ratings. He identified Republic TV, Fakt Marathi and Box Cinema by name.

In a press conference held on Thursday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh told reporters that the city police are probing a scam involving manipulation of TRPs. He identified three channels, namely Fakt Marathi, Box Cinema, and Republic-TV which the police commissioner said are involved in distorting the apparatus used by BARC to rate television channels.
The TRP is calculated on the basis of TV channel viewership in a confidential set of households. As per the commissioner, the accused would bribe these households and ask them to run some channels continuously even if they were not home. The BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) releases weekly rating points for TV channels in India and its own officials are also being questioned in connection with the case.
In a statement issued later on Thursday, BARC said, "As in all our previous cases of suspected panel homes intrusions, BARC India continues to follow its established vigilance and disciplinary guidelines. BARC remains steadfastly true to its purpose to accurately and faithfully report 'What India Watches'. BARC India appreciates the efforts of the Mumbai Police and will provide the support asked of it."
Here's what Commissioner Param Bir Singh said:
1. There are 2,000 barometers installed in Mumbai to monitor TRPs. BARC has given confidential contracts to an agency called 'Hansa' for monitoring these barometers. Accused would ask some households to keep some channels on even if they were not at home.
2. Two people were arrested, produced in court and the Mumbai Police have got their custody. One accused has been arrested with Rs 20 lakhs while Rs 8.5 lakhs has been found in a bank locker, Commissioner Param Bir Singh said.

UGC declares 24 universities as fake.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) today declared 24 universities as ‘fake’ in a move to carry its responsibility of maintaining standards of Higher Education in the country.

“Students and public are informed that currently 24 self-styled, unrecognised institutions are functioning in contravention of the UGC Act, which have been declared as fake universities and these are not empowered to confer any degree,” UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain said.

Aspiring students are advised not to pursue higher education courses with such self-styled universities/vishwavidyalaya. Presently, there are 24 such self-styled fake Universities/Vishwavidyalayas on the records of the Commission which are functioning in contravention of the provisions of the UGC Act, 1956, UGC further stated.

Most of these universities are from Delhi (7) and Uttar Pradesh (8).

Ahead of the festive season, Railways is planning to start more special trains across the country. The Railway Board on Wednesday gave approval to zones for 39 new special trains. These services will be introduced as special services from an early convenient date, said Ministry of Railways.

Among the 39 trains approved by the board, most belong to the category of AC Express, Duronto, Rajdhani and Shatabdi. As per the Ministry, the operations will begin soon but the date of operation of these additional trains is yet to be declared.

Delhi Capitals' spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Tuesday said that he has issued first and final warning to all the batsmen and now he should not be blamed if he ends up 'Mankading' in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

His remark came after Delhi Capitals surged to the top of the points table with a 59-run thumping of Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday night.

In the match against RCB, Ashwin gave opening batsman Aaron Finch a warning for leaving his crease at the non-striker's end while the spinner was on course to deliver the ball.

The incident had happened in the third over of RCB's innings. Finch had walked out of his crease at the non-striker's end, but Ashwin did not do Mankad and it allowed Finch to return to his crease. The whole incident also left Delhi Capitals' coach Ricky Ponting in splits.

Before the start of IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals' coach Ponting had spoken to Ashwin regarding 'Mankad' and the former Australian skipper had told the spinner not to opt for this mode of dismissal.

'Mankading' drew a lot of attention towards itself during the last year's IPL as Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler last season. Many former cricketers were divided as to whether the mode of dismissal is in the spirit of the game or not.

No Assessment Till Up To 2 To 3 Weeks After Schools Reopen: Education Minister

New Delhi: As all state government and Union Territories are gearing up for the reopening of the schools in a phased manner after October 15, the education ministry has issued a detailed guideline according to which there will be no assessment till up to two or three weeks after schools reopen.

In its latest latest guideline for reopening, the ministry of home affairs has asked the state government to take decision on reopening of the schools fro, October 15. But it will not be mandatory and online classes will go on, the MHA had said.

The education ministry has now come up with a detailed plan where schools have been asked to set up various task teams to ensure proper hygiene is maintained.

1. Arrange for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas in school campus and ensure air flow in indoor space.

2. Schools will have to form task teams such as emergency care support, general support team, hygiene inspection team etc. with earmarked responsibilities.

3. Schools may make their own SOPs.

4. Physical distancing to be ensured while planning the seating plan, staggering entry and exit timings.

5. Wearing of mask during the class.

6. Sensitise students, parents, teachers, community members and hostel staff.

7. Plan for academic calendar changes for all classes.

8. Ensure availability of a full-time trained health care attendant/nurse/doctor.

9. Flexible attendance and sick leave policies for both students and staff.

10. No assessment till up to 2-3 weeks of school reopening. “Use of ICT & online learning shall continue to be encouraged. The SOP also provides for guidelines on ensuring emotion well being of students and teachers with a reference drawn to Manodarpan initiative,” education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said.

“Students may attend schools only with the written consent of parents. There will be flexibility in attendance norms. Students may opt for online classes rather than physically attend school,” the minister said.

JKBOSE: Important update regarding Datesheet For 10th, 12th Exams

SRINAGAR: After staying home for more than six months, the government have decided to conduct the examination of students of class 10th and 12th in the month of November.

Jammu and Kashmir board of school education (JKBOSE) chairperson Veena Pandita said that datesheet for 10 and 12th class students will be out in 8-10 days.

“The examinations of both the classes will be held from November 15 and will conclude till December 20 this year,” she said, adding that all SOP’s will be followed and will ensure the use of masks, sanitizers, hand gloves, face cover etc, so that there will be no chance of infection.

She said that there will be more examination centres to ensure social distancing and will fumigate venues.

While talking about 30 percent relaxation in syllabus she said that “We will not considered marks above 70 percent. 70 percent will be considered as 100 percent.”

She said that “Student should not waste time in attempting all questions.” However, she added that there will be no change in time duration and it will remain the same as earlier, which is 2.5 hours.

“For class 11th the decision is yet to be taken and have already written to the government in this regard but the decision is yet to be taken,” she said, adding that “Examinations will be held for all classes.”
