Description
ARQUIA, an international development firm interested in conducting architectural contests at a worldwide level, requires a new kind of “Condominium Tower” for one of the most beautiful residential zones in Lima. The architecture of this new building should reflect contemporary design tendencies, standing out for the uniqueness of its architectural design, while meshing in with the surrounding San Isidro urban tissue.
The desired residential condos strive to become a new prototype for one of the key residential areas in Lima, Peru. In other words, this project should be think for a single person (single, divorced, widow or a newly wedding couple) who wish to live in the coolest zone of San Isidro. This is why ARQUIA, wishes not just to adapt national parameters and regulations, but also to subscribe to sterling international quality, renewable energy and green design criteria in an effort to set a precedent in local standards, whilst helping to revitalize the inner market and setting a precedent in residential buildings.

過密化が進むデリーのスラム街に、生活環境を改善するための施設を計画する。伝統や慣習・文化を尊重した上で、新鮮な解決策を求める。敷地は約9000坪。

Description
According to the UN-HABITAT (part of the United Nations), a simple definition of a slum sould be “a heavily populated urban area characterised by substandard housing and squalor”. A further UN group goes on to say that slums typically have the following characteristics: Inadequate access to safe water, insecure residential status.
This is certainly true of the majority of Delhi's slums. The city's population is over 14 million. More than 6 million of these people live in slum colonies that are chronically overcrowded and lack even the most basic amenities. Although India's economy is growing and millions are prospering, the benefits do not reach the slum dwellers and the gap between rich and poor is growing ever wider.
The competition proposes the design of a multifunctional structure for different types of emergencies involving a large part of Indian society. A Horizontal Farm, which contains a range of services and functions that improve the quality of life of residents. At the same time should not be changed customs, traditions and cultural roots of people who live in this way by hundreds of years.

The Aim of the Competition
- to suggest the best concept of reservation and development of Kyiv islands

Main Objectives of the Competition
- to draw the attention of professionals and general public to the poor state of urban landscape in the central part of the city;
- to suggest effective solutions to this problem, adopting a responsible attitude to nature, city and future generations, with the prospects for European integration;
- to involve remarkable Ukrainian and foreign specialists in architecture, urban design and landscape design, both as participants and members of the jury;

現代社会における高層建築の価値を、都市・環境・社会などの相対視によって再定義するアイディアコンペ。敷地は実在する場所から各自が自由に設定する。

Description
The goal of the competition is to shed new light on the meaning and value of tall buildings in modern society. As noted by the 2011 Competition Jury Chair, William Pedersen of Kohn Pedersen Fox, “There has been a major transition in the sense of the value of the tall building and what it can contribute to the urban realm, and society in general. This transition moves the tall building away from just an instrument of financial exploitation and toward a development highly concerned with its impact on the city, the environment, and the urban habitat.”
In light of global climate change, public awareness of urban sustainability has forced designers to rethink and reinvent the role of the high-rise building type. They must contribute to the protection of endangered environments and offer sustainable alternatives to how cities operate, as they meet the growing demands of urban dwelling and reshaping the landscape of modern cities. It is increasingly important that tall buildings connect with the urban fabric, integrating with the existing city/street life, and reflect the nature of the city in which they are built.
Participants are free to site their projects anywhere in the world. This is not to undervalue the importance of site, and thus participants should carefully consider their site (which must be a “real” site, in a real location) as the site context should inherently have significant influence over the project’s design. Participants are also free to determine the size, height, function, accommodation and responsibilities of the building. The intention is these freedoms on site and program will maximize the diversity and creativity of the responses. It is also intended to allow students from specific high-rise educational studies around the world during the 2011–12 academic year to submit their projects for consideration.

The Competition Jury will be made up of prominent professionals involved in the 2012 Shanghai Congress, creating a multi-disciplinary group of tall building experts.

タイ建築家協会が主催するアイディアコンペで、テーマはデルタ地帯における住空間のタイポロジー。世界各地で頻発している洪水被害から学び、自然と共存する都市・建築を提案する。

Description
Throughout history, people living in the delta have managed to adapt their ways of lives in accustomed to the unpredictable risks caused by nature. For instance, levees and canals are built to protect the town areas by elevating the living typology above the water during the flood season, etc. However, due to rapid climate change, our planet earth encounters more severe disasters causing an increasing amount of lives lost and endless difficulties that are more significant than the past. Within recent years, there have been large scale floods in Australia, United States, Thailand, England, this points out that the living conditions in the delta lands are ever unstable. Town planning/architectural design/interior space from the past are simply perished and soon to be obsolete.
In the delta areas where the lands are low and the crossing water ways are highly uncontrollable, should we search for new living typologies that allow us to survive the destructive disaster? As an architect, should we come up with a new and sustain way to deal with the abundance and the scarcity of water?
