Judging by all the new studio gadgets coming out this year it´s not hard to fathom what the typical (home) recording studio will look like in a hot minute.
Just take a peak at these two new gears to be hitting the market.-
JazzMutant Dexter
A touch screen Software Controller for your workstation. It allows basic operations like levelling multiple tracks, lets you navigate inside a project and interact with its various aspects like equalizers, inserts and surround panning. Need I add that it supports/works with host softwares like
Logic Pro, Cubase, Sonar, Nuendo. Yamaha Tenori-on
An electronic musical instrument,/high-tech gadget designed and created by Japanese artist, Toshio Iwai, in collaboration with Yamaha. It consists of a screen, held in the hands, of a sixteen by sixteen grid of LED switches, any of which can be activated in a number of ways to create an evolving musical soundscape. It is all in all a very unique Sequencer gadget.
It´s not hard to see what the next new-age gear will encompass. More touch screen, spacy type of stuff. Probably voice recognition too! Okay, I know am fishing here but you never know with these crazy tech dudes working in those German and Asian labs.
I wonder if they will soon build a snap your finger and the beat is done type of gear (No pun intended)
You know, like "clap" lights on lights off type of stuff…
Or what if they had a plug-in that would emulate any voice in the industry. Like you´d have an anonymous around the way singer sing through a track, run your
"Hot Collabo" plug-in through the track and Oh snippity snap! You´ve got a banging song with Toni Braxton and them.

Yessir! IK is at it again. This is one product I just couldn´t "overlook"
Anyone working from a home studio will definitely find this very beneficial if all the specs are up to par.
Unfortunately, home studios are not always properly isolated as they should be. This is where the Plug-in comes in.
It basically corrects room acoustical problems by measuring the time and frequency information in your studio sorrounding. It then fixes any problems around it and in turn what comes out of your monitors is a more honest mix of your work as would be the case if you were mixing in a properly isolated recording studio. Amen to that!
