Two weeks without Blog

Hello Dear Readers and Subscribers. How are you doing? It has been a while since i last clicked my blog’s ’Publish’ button. I am sorry for not updating this Blog. I have been very busy these past days (two weeks to be exact) with Stuffs (well, those meaningful one). So before June ends, with your prayers, i hope to execute all my blog deliverables:

My 18th year of existence
Remaining last 3 terms in College
Graphic Designing Workshop
NBA: More than a basketball game
a lot lot more exciting stuffs.

I am also moderating a new blog site of KKB Benilde. You can check it here.

By the way, I’m currently enjoying my last few weeks in wordpress.com as i make this blog post.
For the mean time, I hope you could find time to scan through my blog pages and i’m sure you’ll find something interesting. (If none, just try reading some)

Jenny from Taft – we will miss you!

Top two funny facts about being a La Sallian are You know who Jenny is and you have 5 pesos saved especially for Jenny. Last thursday, the La Sallian online community swarmed the ‘JENNY from the TAFT (La Salle) – We love you! Rest in Peace!’ Facebook page, extending their sentiments and sympathy to the death (colon cancer) of Taft’s famous beggar: BENITO EBUEN a.k.a Jenny. He surely is gonna be missed.

During Frosh Orientation Program (FOP), our facilitator introduced him as the most sociable and richest beggar from Taft Avenue. I can even remember playing an old trick with our friend, telling Jenny that it’s his birthday and as expected, Jenny kisses him for five pesos. For 13 years, he acted like a walking ‘formspring’ wearing a sando who you can randomly ask questions, from the schedule of exam, responses to social issues, and news inside the campus. And most of the time, he accurately responds to our question with his same encouraging smile.

With his Charisma from Taft Students, everyone saves a five peso for this 50 year old beggar. “The BIR should tax him,” i said in sarcasm. I always wonder how much he earns after leaving his province, Laguna, and riding a bus from Las Pinas to Taft just to beg and help students.

Above the coins that fills his belt bag, Jenny’s big heart to help students and be a Kuya/Ate is what makes this man memorable. I guess a rainy day in Taft won’t be the same without a Jenny offering his big umbrella and greet you with “Pogi/ganda penge barya”.

The Lasallian Community will surely miss him.
Rest in Peace Jenny!
