Sony Announced Xperia SP and Xperia L

Sony Mobile Communication announced two new Xperia Smartphone - Xperia SP and Xperia L.

Xperia SP features Super-bright 4.6-inch 1280x720p HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, an 8MP camera on the back "Exmor RS for mobile", NFC, LTE, 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Dual Core processor and 8GB internal memory expandable via microSD card.

A 4.3-inch Xperia L packs an FWVGA display, dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 processor, 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), NFC and an 8 megapixel camera with Sony’s unique “Exmor RS for mobile” sensor technology and front facing VGA camera.

Both Xperia SP and Xperia L comes in black, white, and red color option running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, will be available worldwide from Q2 2013.

Verizon rolls out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update for Galaxy Nexus

Starting today, Verizon has started rolling out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy Nexus in phases.

The new software update includes a new Gesture Keyboard along with the option to place widgets on the lock screen such as Calendar, Gmail and Clock, and other enhancements . It also includes new camera features such as photosphere to take 360 degree panoramic pictures that can easily be shared with friends, also has a new tool to add filters and borders, further customizing pictures.

Huawei at the 2013 CES today announced its first Windows Phone 8 smartphone, HUAWEI Ascend W1. Featuring a 4-inch IPS LCD 480 x 800 touchscreen display, Ascend W1 powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and Adreno 305 GPU. It comes in an array of bold colors including blue, red, black and white - offers 470 hours of standby time with a 1950 mAh battery.

The HUAWEI Ascend W1 will be available in China and Russia from January 2013, with Western Europe, Middle East, USA and other selected countries to follow.

Huawei Launches Flagship Ascend D2

At the 2013 CES, Huawei unveiled the the HUAWEI Ascend D2 runs Android 4.1. It features a 5-inch FHD IPS+ 443 PPI Super Retina LCD display, Huawei’s K3V2 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU, a 13 MP BSI camera, WiFi and supports Dolby surrounding sound and stereo recording.

With its 3,000mAh battery and Huawei’s proprietary Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) battery efficiency technology, the Ascend D2 has a stand-by time of six days on WCDMA .

Available in pure white and crystal blue, the HUAWEI Ascend D2 will also be produced in a 4.7-inch screen version. The HUAWEI Ascend D2 will be on sale in China in January 2013, and in Japan in the future.

Huawei at CES 2013 announced the HUAWEI Ascend Mate, a phone/tablet with a 6.1-inch HD display. Lenovo intros ThinkPad Helix - "Rip and Flip" Ultrabook and IdeaPad Yoga 11S

Lenovo announced two new additions to its family of convertible laptop-tablet devices: the ThinkPad Helix, featuring a “rip and flip” design and a more powerful and productive IdeaPad Yoga 11S, the first multimode mini Ultrabook.

The ThinkPad Helix - convertible Ultrabook can be used in several different positions uses a unique “rip and flip” design that lets user to remove the display and then re-attach it in the opposite orientation. It comes equipped with intel Core i3 processor ( upgradable to Core i7 processor), features an 11.6-inch 1080p IPS multi-touch display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-MP front-facing shooter, NFC and optional 3G/4G connectivity.

On the other hand, flip and fold, 360° hinge IdeaPad Yoga convertibles - IdeaPad Yoga 11S comes equipped with 3rd generation Intel Core i5 processor, running Windows 8, features 11.6-inch HD IPS display that supports 10 finger multi-touch, can accommodate up to 8GB of RAM and is just 0.68-inch thick.

Sony unveils Xperia Z, Available from Phones 4U on March 1st

Sony announced its new flagship Android handset – the Sony Xperia Z, with a 5-inch Full HD 1080p Reality Display, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 13 MP camera and 4G LTE- will launch globally in Q1 2013.

In selected markets, a design variant of Xperia Z – Xperia ZL – will also be released in Q1 2013. Xperia ZL delivers the same immersive entertainment experiences as Xperia Z but in a smaller form factor.

Acer announced cross-platform support for AcerCloud, the company's file sharing and media management solution, free to Acer customers. Consumers can now share, retrieve and enjoy their multimedia and data files using a variety of computing devices, regardless of which operating system they are running – Windows, Android or iOS.

Additionally, a new "Remote Files" feature let you access any of your Windows PCs from Android and iOS device. Apple reveals App Store Downloads top 40 Billion

Sony rolls out update for Xperia T and Xperia TX

Sony today announced that starting this week it will begin rolling out latest Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) firmware update for Xperia T and Xperia TX. The new update adds screen mirroring through Miracast; provided you have a WiFi enabled TV or Sony recommends the Netgear dongle (PTV3000) for those TVs without built-in wireless capabilities. The update also include Extended Standby Mode feature that shuts off WiFi, or data traffic temporarily and most applications become inactive when screen has been in sleep mode.

The upgrade also brings new improvements to Sony’s media applications – a movie app with a small viewing window, controls and film gallery, photo album makes use of Sony's full image processing engine and HD Voice support for Xperia T (but not Xpeia TX)
