A Christmas wedding for Matt & Harriet

St.Anne's Church, Bucks Mills was the setting for local farmers Harriet and Matt's wedding just before Christmas. A small group of family and friends gathered for the service before making their way to the Hoops Inn for the wedding reception. The happy couple spent their honeymoon and Christmas in New York.

Lucie & Neil marry at Berrynarbour

Berrynarbour Church was the setting the marriage of Lucie and Neil a couple of weeks ago. The bride arrived at the church in style in a classic ivory and black car which was to be the colour scheme for the whole wedding. After a lovely service which saw the alter bathed in autumn sunshine from the stunning stained glass window the wedding guests made their way outside for group photos followed by a short trip to the Sandy Cove Hotel.We visited the nearby Watermouth Castle for some romantic shots around the grounds before rejoining everyone at the hotel. After a few more sets of photographs in the lovely gardens the reception got underway and during the evening there was a barbecue followed by a firework display. The happy couple have just returned from a honeymoon in the Maldives.

Rachel & Matt marry in the Autumn sun

A stunning autumn day greeted family and friends as they gathered in Chulmleigh for Rachel and Matt's wedding in September. Cerise pink was the theme for the wedding and the whole wedding party looked radiant in the chosen colour. After the service and photographs at the local church we stopped at the nearby wood at Eggesford for some romantic shots amongst the trees and footpaths while the wedding guests made their way to the Waie Inn for the wedding reception. More photographs were taken of the guests in the garden before they all retired inside for the meal and subsequent evening reception. The couple are taking their honeymoon next year.

Exeter couple Gemma and Andrew married at the St.Olave Hotel on a glorious autumn afternoon in mid September. The bride had organised a lovely surprise for her husband to be in the form of a stunning Ferrari which took him from his home to the Hotel to greet the guests as they arrived for the wedding. After photographs were taken of the bride in her room and nearby ancient building the guests congregated for the ceremony then made their way into the gardens for drinks and group photos. Later in the evening I returned to the Olave Hotel to photograph the first dance and guests enjoying generally themselves! Gemma and Andrew spent their honeymoon cruising the Med.

Annabelle & Kevin marry in style!

'Breakfast at Tiffany's' was the theme of Annabelle and Kevin's wedding which took place at the Sandy Cove Hotel last Friday. The bride looked stunning in a classic wedding dress topped with a mini veil and the bridesmaids wore scarlett. After the wedding ceremony I photographed groups in the grounds before taking the couple to Watermouth for some romantic shots using the castle as a backdrop. A red and white Volkswagen camper van had been hired for the day for the bride and groom to use and I took some great photos of them inside and out of it. Kevin who is a big Aston Villa fan wasn't left out as the table decorations, confetti boxes and other wedding favours were based around the team's colours!

Glorious sunshine for Vickie & Matt's Big Day!

The sun came out for Vickie and Matt who came from Essex to North Devon for their wedding last Friday. The couple chose the Sandy Cove Hotel near Combe Martin to hold the wedding ceremony which was held outside, followed by a Devon cream tea and barbecue later in the evening. After the ceremony I took the bride and groom to the nearby beach for some shots in and around the rocks, while their guests enjoyed drinks on the lawns overlooking the magnificent views from the Hotel. The happy couple stayed in Devon for a few more days for their honeymoon before going back home.

A Woolacombe Wedding for Debbie & Mark

The Woolacombe Bay Hotel was the setting for Debbie & Mark's wedding at the beginning of September. Family and friends gathered on a lovely sunny autumn day to see the groom arrive at the wedding in a black Aston Martin! After the ceremony the wedding guests made their way to the hotel lawns for drinks and group photographs before the reception got underway later in the afternoon. Just before the evening party started I took Debbie & Mark down on the beach for some dramatic shots on the shoreline. Their honeymoon was spent in Crete.

Laura & Tony marry at Morchard Bishop

The sun came out for local couple Laura and Tony as they married at the bride's former home of Morchard Bishop near Crediton. Family and friends made their way to the local church for the service followed by group photographs in the grounds. We drove to a nearby field and took some special shots of Laura and Tony with the stunning countryside providing a great backdrop for the pictures whilst the guests walked to the the reception at the nearby church hall, which had been decorated beautifully in the colour scheme of the wedding.

After a week of rain and wind the sun came out just in time for Lynsey and George's wedding earlier in the month. After the service and group photographs at the South Molton Parish Church, George and I went across the road to the fire station where he works and and I took some shots of him with the fire engine that he drives. We made the short journey to the Northcote Manor Hotel to rejoin the rest of the guests but stopped at the woods on the long drive up the hill for some romantic pictures using the stunning natural light coming through the trees. After drinks on the lawns and some more shots around the lovely gardens the bridal party made their way into the hotel for the reception followed by an evening party. Lynsey and George have just returned from their honeymoon which was spent in Borneo.

Leanna and Staurt were my second couple to get married on the Jubilee weekend and were again very lucky with the weather. I photographed the bride at home on the farm with her parents and attendants before she left for Tawstock Church in a magnificent horse drawn carriage. After the ceremony and group photographs, Leanna and Stuart left the Church in the horse and carriage and then made their way to the Saunton Sands Hotel to join the rest of their guests for the afternoon reception and evening celebration. The happy couple are spending their honeymoon on Safari.

A Horse & Carriage for Sam & Jason

The sun came out for Sam and Jason as they married at Shirwell Parish Church earlier this month. The bride arrived at the church in a magnificent horse drawn carriage carrying a bouquet of sunflowers which was complimented by the bridesmaid's stunning yellow dresses. After the service and group photos the couple left the church in the carriage then stopped in nearby fields for some shots using the stunning countryside and the beautiful black horses and carriage as a stunning backdrop. The remainder of the journey to the hotel was made by car due to the distance, and on arrival more photographs were taken in and around the beautiful gardens before the reception got underway. Sam and Jason spent their honeymoon in Greece.

Beth & John marry on Easter weekend

Beth & John chose Easter Saturday to get married at the United Reform Church in Bickington. Although the couple live in Shebbear they a part of a very close community within the church. As well as the invited guests most of the regular congregation were part of their day via a projector which relayed the wedding ceremony to a smaller room within the church. Everyone then made their way to the Saunton Sands Hotel for group photographs before the afternoon reception started. In the evening I took the bride and groom down to the beach for some romantic shots in and around the rocks before they joined the rest of their guests for the evening party. Beth and John spent a few days in Bath after the wedding and will be taking a longer honeymoon break later in the year.

It was just like a summers day as local couple Babs and Nigel married at St. Brannocks Church earlier this month. The bride and groom who both run businesses in Braunton were joined by close family and friends for the service before making their way to the Saunton Sands Hotel for the reception. They travelled to Saunton in a special Rolls Royce owned by a the bride's brother bearing the original surname of the family.

We were lucky with the weather again this week as Elizabeth and Richard married at St. Brannocks Church, Braunton. The bridesmaids were dressed in cerise pink and the colour theme was carried through to the reception which was held at The Saunton Sands Hotel. After group pictures at the Church everyone made the short trip to Saunton for a few more photographs before the afternoon and early evening celebrations got underway. I returned later in the evening and took the couple back outside in the gale force winds for some more photgraphs with Saunton beach providing a dramatic backdrop just as the the sun set. Elizabeth and Richard are honeymooning in the USA.

A Horse & Carriage for Ellen & Tom

On a day of sunshine and showers local farmers Ellen and Tom married at Rose Ash Church, Bishops Nympton. Photographs were taken at home with the close family and dogs, before Ellen left for Church in a magnificent carriage drawn by four white horses. After the ceremony I photographed the groups outside then took the bride and groom back inside the Church for some more photos using the natural light provided by the stained glass windows. On the way back to the bride's parent's home where a marquee had been erected for the reception, we stopped in a nearby field and I photographed the couple in the horse and carriage using the view of Exmoor as a backdrop. Ellen and Tom have just returned from their honeymoon which was spent in Spain.

Anouska & Michael marry at Tawstock

Tawstock Church was the venue for marriage of Anouska and Michael at the beginning of the month. Although the couple now live and work in Wells, they decided to come back to North Devon for their wedding and were joined by all their family and friends. After the service and some photos outside the Church everyone made their way to the Yeoldon House Hotel, Bideford for the reception and further photographs in the beautiful gardens. I was invited stay for the rest of the day and after the meal I took the bride and groom to Woolacombe beach for some romantic shots which was particularly significant as it is where Michael proposed to Anouska two years ago. The happy couple are spending their honeymoon on a mini world tour and will back in the country again at the beginning of October.

Welsh couple choose Sandy Cove for wedding destination!

Nicky and Andy brought their family and friends across the water from Wales to celebrate their wedding which took place earlier this month. The bride and her attendants got ready at the Sandy Cove Hotel before making their way to the nearby Berrynarbour Parish Church for the wedding ceremony in a white limousine. After group photographs outside the church the happy couple left for Watermouth Cove in a vintage car for some romantic shots using the castle and grounds as a stunning backdrop before returning to the Sandy Cove Hotel for the wedding reception. After a few more photos in and around the beautiful gardens of the hotel the wedding party made their way inside for their meal which was later followed by an evening party.

Local sweethearts Liz and Dan married earlier this month on one of the hottest days of the year so far. After the civil ceremony all the guests spilled outside to the gardens overlooking the beach for group photographs followed by drinks. I took the bride and groom down to the beach for some romantic shots in and around the rocks with waves crashing in the background. After the photographs on the beach Liz and Dan rejoined the rest of their guests for the wedding reception followed by an evening party. The honeymoon was spent in Chamonix, France.

A rainy day for Victoria & Jordan's wedding

The rain didn't spoil the day for Victoria and Jordan as they married at the Broomhill Art Hotel earlier in the month. After the civil ceremony we braved the rather soggy conditions and headed out into the grounds for photographs around the sculptures while the guests started to enjoy the reception inside the Hotel. The couple took no chances with their honeymoon as they headed off to Spain and some guaranteed sunshine for a two week holiday.

The weather didn't disappoint earlier this month as Katrina and Simon tied the knot at Fremington Church. After photographing the guests outside the church we went to the nearby Fremington Manor to take shots of the happy couple. Everyone then made their way to the Sandy Cove Hotel for the reception where I photographed the bride and groom using the stunning scenery as a backdrop. In the evening I returned to the Hotel and we went down to Watermouth Castle/Cove to take some more photographs of Katrina and Simon to round off a lovely day. The honeymoon was spent in Cyprus.

Local couple Claire and Jonathan chose the bank holiday weekend for their wedding at the end of May. The weather was a little damp so after photographing the bride inside at her parents home in Pilton we made the short trip to the church just down the road. After the wedding ceremony I took some lovely shots of the couple in the church yard by the old lamp then everyone made their way to the Rotary Gardens for the group photos. The reception and evening party was held at the Barnstaple Hotel followed by a honeymoon in Cornwall.

Shirwell Parish Church was the setting for the marriage of Catherine and Tim earlier this month. Despite the rather overcast weather, I photographed the bride with her parents and attendants at home before making our way to the church. After the ceremony everyone made their way back to the bride's home where a marquee had been set up for the reception and following evening party. Tim surprised Catherine earlier in the day by finally revealing the honeymoon destination which was to be the Maldives.

During the evening I took the bride and groom to Instow for some shots on the beach just before the sun went down. The couple spent their honeymoon in Mexico.
